Rigatoni al Forno and Pizza Regina were good... staff friendly and quick. We sat outside... good overview of the shopping arcade.
The only negative thing is that if you are very hungry, then a portion of rigatoni might not be enough... better order some pizza bread with it 🙃
Price was ok 👍
Ordered online, over 1 hour 20 minutes for 1 pizza and 2xpasta… not worth it at all to me. Also, the pizzas aren't particularly big for the price...
I called after an hour to ask about the order and the employee on the phone, who barely spoke German, said that the food would be with me in 2-3 minutes, but it still took 20 minutes.
Not again...
La Mamma is a real highlight for us! The atmosphere is welcoming, warm and familiar - from the first moment you feel like you are staying with good friends. It's like you've been invited to Italy to spend a lovely evening together.
The food is authentic, lovingly prepared and the taste is simply unbeatable. Every dish tastes of quality, tradition and passion. For us, La Mamma is one of those places that we always enjoy returning to.
Unreserved recommendation for anyone who wants to enjoy Italian food in a special ambience!
What’s the benefit of having a big family? Apparently, it means you’ll always get good reviews. Otherwise I could not understand the good reviews.
The first impression you get when entering this restaurant is that something’s missing. It seems like they ran out of money before they could afford any proper decoration. The room feels empty and unfinished.
Next, you’re greeted by a rather unmotivated waitress who, in my opinion, reminded me the service at the bakery on a train station. Not friendly, no smile, and absolutely no interest in the guests.
To be fair, the shorter waitress was friendlier — a small but noticeable difference.
But the surprises don’t stop there. As soon as you open the menu, you’d think you’re dining at a high-end Italian place on Brennerstraße. The prices are steep — dishes start at €16, with pasta over €20.
It gives off the impression that the owner wants to turn €1 of ingredients into €22 profit.
It’s a shame, really, because you actually look forward to the food — but then comes the next surprise: the food itself.
When ordering fish, no one even offers to prepare it properly.
The pizza bread was crispy and tasty — we had the one with tomatoes. But the Spaghetti Marinara were a disappointment: overcooked noodles and ingredients that tasted like they came straight out of a Metro pre-packed bag.
The Penne with four cheeses tasted more like Penne with one cheese and a lot of milk.

The restaurant is rather inconspicuous from the outside, as the entrance is via the hotel. The ambience consists of a spacious hall, which is very suitable for large celebrations (weddings, family celebrations). The coziness sometimes suffers as a result, even if there are seating areas with benches built into the wall area. Terrace available, but apartment block in the background. Very attentive and courteous staff. Pasta, pizza, meat dishes and desserts are very tasty. Good to very good price-performance ratio. I've been there many times and would love to come back.
Be careful when paying!
A dinner for two here cost us over €1000 on top of the actual bill. Requests for a refund have been rejected and ignored for >a year and the claim is now even being denied at great expense by a lawyer, despite witnesses. According to previous information, only 3 other tables were occupied on the day of our visit - unfortunately the incorrectly debited amount could no longer be assigned...
I would strongly advise everyone to avoid a restaurant where the landlord personally exploits his guests in this way. You shouldn't be blinded by host Giuseppe's initial friendliness and look for trustworthy alternatives (there are enough in Munich / Maxvorstadt). Avoid visitors!
A nice little pizzeria. The service was extremely friendly. The food was good and the portions were sufficient. The highlight came at the end: the espresso! We all melted away.
Very child-friendly (really child-friendly & not just pretending), the Italians in Italy are like that too ;) Surroundings & ambience are great. Food top. Extra requests were easily addressed.
What more could you want :)
