The food was good if you like Indian cuisine. The fact that I have to wait a good hour for the drinks I ordered is not so good. We had ordered a table at 6:30 p.m. and it took us until 9:30 p.m. to receive and consume the food and drinks we ordered.
A mighty long time. The restaurant was only sparsely occupied.
I thought the restaurant was overrated. The atmosphere has something of a hall with seats. Unfortunately the food was just average. The salad was boring and dressed with a ready-made dressing. The gyro was very coarsely cut and very fatty. The fries are very crispy. The fact that the decorative lettuce leaf was already brown didn't affect the taste, but it didn't look particularly tasty.
I went there alone for lunch, as I live right across the street and just wanted to try it out. The lunch menu included roulade with dumplings and red cabbage – classic home-style cooking, and it tasted good. The portion cost €19 plus a small beer (0.3l). Not cheap, but not overpriced either; average for the quality offered.
Service was quick and attentive. At my request, they even offered extra sauce, as the dumplings were a bit short on time.
The ambiance is very rustic, more like a garden plot than a cozy restaurant. I wouldn't recommend it for a romantic date, but if you like home-style cooking or belong to the older demographic, you'll feel at home.
I'll definitely be back, if only because it's right around the corner.
Among other things, we ordered the fried potato casserole with bacon, onions and egg. I have to say that I have never had such a hearty casserole.. Home cooking. Keep it up! Some others can learn a lesson from this 😉...I'm thrilled
