If I could take only one bar to a desert island, it would be Hopfenliebe. Why? Because not only is there beer that would make even the gods jealous, but also people who make you think: Oh, that's what hospitality feels like! I was particularly struck by Hoa – probably the friendliest, most charming, and at the same time most efficient waitress north of the Elbe. I don't know how she does it, but she seems to be keeping an eye on ten tables at once, brings you a beer before you're even thirsty, and always has a smile on her face that brightens up even a rainy Hamburg evening. The atmosphere? Relaxed, warm, a little crazy – just the way I like it. Here, they serve not only hops, but also love – in large mugs.

Good beer. The food tasted good (goulash) but it seemed expensive and the amount of goulash and knödel did not match. A lot of knödel and a little goulash.
