Yesterday we went to the Linde with the family for Easter brunch. Everything was very good and it was refilled regularly.
For the high-quality food, the price/performance ratio (€42) is top. We cannot understand Mr. Obermann's negative assessment. We'd love to come back.
Located inside the BWH.
Good, varied and interesting cuisine.
From duck to burger.
There is also a buffet corner with vegetables and sauces.
Informal and nice atmosphere overall.
We were there for the second time. The first time it was really superb - that was in autumn 2023. Now again for Good Friday with a visit from relatives and this time we were a little disappointed. We'll come back anyway - maybe it just wasn't your day. All good things come in threes.
My criticisms were:
The young waiter probably hadn't been to waitress school yet. He showed us the table from the door and left again, then came separately with the cards and distributed them without a word; later stood there with 2 plates over our heads and asked if that was for us... hmmm, probably??? …. The woman who took over immediately afterwards was very accommodating and friendly and could wait tables!
Unfortunately, the tiramisu at the end for a hefty price was none! Ladyfingers in 3 layers of cream dusted with Kaba - without coffee drinks or rum aroma or any other alcoholic taste. I also know it with whiskey/flavoring.
The pizzas were only 3/4 filled with quite wide edges.
The music was a little too loud for us.
None of us wanted to complain on site, but on the way home we all told each other the same thing, hence this review.
Service and ambiance were top-notch. The food was truly excellent. When I first saw the tiramisu, I thought, "Oh, so sweet! It's small, but it's impressive!" When you're already full, you just squeeze in this delicious dessert. I've never had such a good tiramisu in my life. From the appetizer to the dessert, it was simply a delight. I'd gladly go back.
We had booked a room because we were invited to a Genurt day nearby.
The room is nice and big. Unfortunately there is no elevator, which means if you get a room upstairs you have to climb a fairly steep staircase.
The bathroom is very small. But serves its purpose. The shower is leaking and runs out at the bottom.
The floor in the room seemed uneven. Unfortunately there is no carpet. Not even a small rug on the bed. The mattresses were very worn out. Nevertheless, I slept surprisingly well.
What we couldn't find were smoke detectors (except one in the stairwell) and a fire extinguisher.
90€/night is definitely too much.
Totally delicious food, very friendly and attentive service, we were passing through and had dinner here. Nicely furnished. The map is not too big but completely sufficient
