The food was delicious, the pizza well-topped and with a crispy base, neither too thin nor too watery. The service was friendly and attentive, and I followed it with a Sambuca. Half a pizza had the wrong toppings, but they made a real effort to change it. But who orders a pizza with half spinach and half vegetarian?
I ventured out of my comfort zone and wandered through a few neighborhoods a little further east, and stumbled upon this cozy burger joint in the heart of Kreuzberg. I was completely taken aback by the astonishingly low prices and initially assumed the quality would match. The salesperson, who turned out to be the owner, was approachable and helpful and even offered to retrieve the card reader, which was actually broken, so I could try a burger after all. The wait wasn't too long for a so-called "Dutch burger," which was both innovative and extremely delicious. I then asked the owner about the low prices, whereupon he told me that he wanted to maintain a certain degree of price integrity out of fairness to his customers. Furthermore, he's still a student himself and only employs students and schoolchildren. All due respect, and of course, I give it 5 stars :)
The pizza has a firm crust and was baked crispy. The crust is quite wide, so you can taste the delicious dips. The service was also very attentive and friendly. The ambiance, with its exposed concrete, feels clean and modern. The homemade lemonade is also great.
The restrooms were also okay.
The price/performance ratio seems fair to me. Definitely a top pizza in Berlin.
We really enjoy the food, which is why we regularly order takeout. Unfortunately, we repeatedly notice that the billing is incorrect, or that items are simply omitted without comment. Almost every second order leaves out the grilled vegetables, but the full price is charged. Of course, there's a surcharge for the cheese sauce (even if no other sauce is requested).
Despite ordering and preparing a set meal, everything is charged separately, which ultimately results in the wrong price. Often, various items are no longer available after 6:30 PM because, for example, there's no chili for hot pepper cesedia or guacamole.
We're increasingly annoyed that we often feel like we're being ripped off. In our opinion, it's not acceptable to simply omit things that are included in the price and then charge extra or incorrectly for other items. This somewhat spoils your appetite for the delicious food.
No words can explain how I‘m amazed at the Napoli pizza I had in The Grain. I ordered Dimme Tartufo pizza. The portion of truffle is more than expected. Also the edge of the pizza is so soft and very tasty! Ofc we all finished everything on our plates!!
Like some previous reviewers, we stumbled upon the restaurant by chance—a very lucky coincidence at that, because the food was truly delicious and well-prepared. The oxtail soup is a special recommendation.
I’ve been twice. The staff is kind, observant, attentive and multilingual. The food is phenomenal for taste. I’ve been with a meat eater who loved the food. The atmosphere is nice.
The further inside you go, the less likely your internet will work so a good place for actual conversations great food and really neat cocktails with or without.
