Prices aren't too high. Average compared to other restaurants. Unfortunately, I got a pizza there that was way too dark, almost burnt, and tasted that way too. The flavor was far too dry. It can happen that a pizza is too dark, but putting something like that out there in the hope that the customer might "eat" it as it is is completely unacceptable. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it for my taste. Real Italian restaurants usually have better pizzas, especially thickly topped and juicy ones.
The ambiance itself is nice and cozy. It just needs a bit of cleaning. There are cobwebs all over the decorations and shelves. It seems like it hasn't been cleaned in a long time. It could be better if they put a bit more effort into it. Unfortunately, I won't eat there again.
Small pizzeria with a few tables. We had Pizza Ortolana (with eggplant and arugula) and Pizza Peperoncini. The toppings on the 36-cm pizzas were SUPER delicious, and the Peperoncini also had the spice I appreciate. However, the dry crust of the pizza was more than two fingers wide. The homemade oil provided for spicing up the pizza wasn't necessary.
Service was very fast and friendly.
Restrooms were clean, located on the first floor.
Pizzas were good, but the pasta was a no-go, everything was overcooked and the tortellini was raw. The Bolognese was a disaster, no seasoning and watered down. We threw it away straight away and €15 for a portion that didn't taste good wasn't okay either.
The restaurant looks a bit unassuming from the outside and inside, but the food is simply first-class. Whether it's sushi, curry, soup, or a bowl, you really can't go wrong here. The food is spectacularly presented, and the cocktails are also lovingly prepared. The service is really good; everyone is super friendly and accommodating. It's great to have a conversation in the restaurant; it's not noisy. This place is absolutely great value for money.
We drove to Aschaffenburg specifically to try a vegan doner kebab. It was absolutely delicious, and the lama kebab was almost even better. Highly recommended, and we'll be back.
If you love schnitzel, you have to come here!
Accessibility:
Very easy by car, plenty of parking right in front of the restaurant, on the ground floor, and therefore also accessible for those with limited mobility.
Service:
Excellent! Very friendly, attentive staff. Waiting times were absolutely acceptable.
Food: We had the Braumeister schnitzel here and both loved it. Huge schnitzel, but also thick and wonderfully juicy. Perfectly baked, with a gigantic amount of French fries on the side, which were also perfectly cooked. Beautifully presented, too.
Price:
This gigantic schnitzel in the picture costs €17.90 (as of October 2025), making it absolutely excellent value for money. The other dishes are also within this range, and the drink prices are also perfectly reasonable.
Atmosphere:
Very clean and well-maintained. It's not surprising that it's cozy, but it's plentiful and nicely bright. There's a beer garden, a lovely location with a view of the half-timbered houses. A little tip: During our visit, it was a little chilly in the restaurant; it didn't bother me, but if you're sensitive, you might want to bring a light jacket.
Conclusion:
100% recommended! Whether you're in the area or just passing through on the A7, definitely stop by.
Interesting experience. It's truly something completely different than just going out to eat. The presentation, the service, everything is wonderfully designed. You should definitely try it.
The Gasthaus Zur frische Quelle (Fresh Spring) is a quaint, very traditional inn with plenty of charm. The cozy outdoor area and the wonderful old dining room are particularly lovely, creating a truly comfortable atmosphere. Another highlight is the lovingly decorated cave room, which gives the establishment something truly special.
The selection of specialties is varied: classic Franconian cuisine, complemented by delicious snacks – all fresh and of excellent quality. The value for money is absolutely perfect here.
The hosts are super friendly, welcoming, and often take the time for pleasant small talk, which makes the visit even more enjoyable.
In summary: top quality, great atmosphere – we would love to come back!
Super delicious burgers, a huge selection, including vegetarian and vegan options! Very friendly service, a lovely atmosphere, and even the dog was welcome! Highly recommended!
