Today we spontaneously stopped at Chili, Pepper, Lemon Gras in Altdorf because our car needed to be charged - and what a stroke of luck that was! We received an incredibly warm welcome and extremely friendly service. As a nice gesture there was even a schnapps on the house.
The wine I drank was an excellent Franconian wine, and the selection of local beers is also great. The food absolutely convinced us: fresh ingredients, crunchy wok vegetables with an impressively large selection and perfectly balanced spices. Particularly noteworthy is the freshly ground pepper, whose aroma you could really taste. Even the sharpening paste was homemade and not an industrial product.
We were completely satisfied and can warmly recommend the Chili, Pepper, Lemon Gras!
Food was okay, the boss took a lot of getting used to and was moody. At the end you get the receipt fluttering onto the table, which doesn't work at all. No EC card payment possible. Be sure to bring cash with you. There won't be a second time for us. There are significantly better Indian restaurants for the same money, including in the Nuremberg region and the surrounding area.
Very quaint inn. Great service and very good food. Here we chop the salad ourselves... It's a shame that this great inn is closing its doors in October!
Recommended scoops and veal schnitzel!
First of all, I can't say anything about the rooms; we were only there for dinner. The restaurant has a cozy, old-German, rustic decor. I always find that very cozy.
The service was very attentive, friendly, and quick. The menu is huge, with standard Franconian dishes like Schäuferla, Schnitzel, or Krautwickerla. But there are also many unusual dishes on the menu, such as venison currywurst or savoy cabbage canneloni, which are truly amazing. I counted 8 vegetarian dishes, which are really good and also unusual.
We had a lovely evening, the food was delicious, and we'd love to come back.
