Unser Lieblingsrestaurant, sehr netter Service und sehr leckeres Essen

Wir waren heute das erste mal. Super gute Gerichte. Fleisch und Fisch super zart und auf den Punkt gebraten. Vorspeisen auch sehr lecker. Espresso lecker. Super nette Servicekräfte die sich auch mal zeit für ein kurzen Plausch nehmen. Wir kommen auf jedenfall wieder. Für mich ab jetzt der beste Griche in der Gegend.

Waren als Zwischenstopp in Altdorf bei Nürnberg auf dem Womo Stellplatz. Beim erkunden der Altstadt sind wir auf des Restaurant Kavala gestoßen. Von der ersten Minute an waren wir begeistert. Das Personal super freundlich. Mit den Getränken kam direkt ein Ouzo zur Begrüßung. Das Essen ( Gyros Teller) war toll zubereitet und sehr lecker. Da meine Frau nicht alles aufessen konnte, wurde sofort gefragt ob wir es eingepackt mitnehmen möchten. Mit der Rechnung kam das eingepackte essen inklusive einem Ouzo! Wir kommen wieder, bei der nächsten Durchreise( ca. 450km) von zuhause! Danke für das leckere Essen und die Freundliche Bedienung!

Wir haben in Altdorf eine Zwischennacht auf der Durchreise gebucht und sind so durch Zufall, o.k. schon auch gegoogelt, auf dieses Restaurant gestoßen. Schon beim eintreten begrüßte man uns wie "alte Freunde" und es gab nicht wie man es kennt zum Schluss einen Ouzo, nein auch direkt schon zur Begrüßung. Die Auberginen waren so fluffig und auch der Gyros Fitnessteller lädt eher zur anschließenden Fitness ein bei der üppigen Portion! Würden wir hier wohnen wäre es definitiv unser Stammlokal, auch am Nachbartisch haben wir aufgeschnappt, das Sie schon das zweite mal in dieser Woche hier sind. Kann ich verstehen, denn man kommt rein und fühlt sich wohl und wie man es von Griechen kennt, wie bei Freunden! Bei der nächsten Durchreise kommen wir auf jeden Fall wieder, die Freundlichkeit ist hier genauso groß wie die Portionen!

Waren heute hier zum ersten Mal, auf Empfehlung von Arbeitskollegen essen. Reservierung für 17 uhr hat gut geklappt. Schöne Sitznische im griechischen Stil neben der Garderobe. Wurden sofort bedient. Essen war gut. Ein Malheur bei meiner Frau ihrem Essen wurde sofort behoben, ersetzt und durch zwei Freigetränke und zwei extra Ouzo wieder gut gemacht. Das Personal war stets freundlich und hat sich gut um unser Wohlbefinden gekümmert.

Eine sehr gute griechische Lokalität. Es ist sehr gut besucht. Dennoch kamen die Getränke und das Essen schnell. Das Essen war phantastisch. Wir haben uns eine Platte zu Zweit teilen wollen. Sie hätte für 4 Personen gereicht. Es ist empfehlenswert zu reservieren.

Ich Stufe das Restaurant als "typisch" und solide ein. Man bekommt solide Qualität, nichts zu meckern, aber auch nichts was einen von Hocker reißt. Service war aufmerksam und freundlich. Restaurant war voll unter der Woche abends, da Schulferien.

Essen war gut aber Doppelbelegung geht gar nicht,wir wurden regelrecht aufgefordert zu gehen,schade. Wir hätten gerne einen gemütlichen Abend dort verbracht (Massenabfertigung,schade)

Bester Grieche in der Umgebung, haben schon so oft geholt und immer sehr gute Qualität und das Preisleistungsverhältnis stimmt auf jeden Fall auch. Macht weiter so.

Dieses griechische Restaurant gibt es schon seit mehr als 40 Jahren, das spricht schon für sich. Typische Speisekarte mit griechischen Spezialitäten. Mein Favorit ist immer die Lammhaxe mit großen Bohnen, hier mit einem Beilagensalat. Sehr lecker und eine schöne Portion. Aufmerksamer Service, immer einen Scherz auf den Lippen. Positiv war das fehlen der sonst typischen Musik. Das Restaurant war bis zum letzten Platz gefüllt, eine Reservierung ist vorteilhaft. Das Bier war eher nicht mein Geschmack, aber lokal aus Neumarkt. Alles in allem ein Besuch wert.

Absolut empfehlenswert! Das Essen war sehr sehr lecker und man merkt, dass hier mit Liebe gekocht wird. Der Service war unglaublich nett, aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und kommen definitiv wieder.

Wir waren heute zum ersten Mal dort, eigentlich eher per Zufall, da wir heute von Nürnberg gekommen sind, um den Weihnachtsmarkt in Altdorf zu besuchen. Wir waren zu zweit dort und haben noch einen kleinen Tisch bekommen. Die Speisenauswahl ist groß, wie man es von Griechen auch gewöhnlich kennt, das Fleisch war sehr gut zubereitet, gut gewürzt, und auch gut durchgebraten, was für uns immer wichtig ist. Das Satziki war super frisch. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Das Restaurant und die Toiletten sind sehr sauber. Das Restaurant ist daher sehr empfehlenswert.

Unfortunately, I can't comment on the food itself, as we didn't get a chance to eat it. Despite having a reservation and being told it might take a short while, I found the way we were treated appalling. Leaving us waiting for 20 minutes with the excuse, "That's just how it is, nothing we can do about it," shows absolutely no respect for our guests. If the situation had been resolved with a simple, "We're truly sorry you have to wait a little longer despite your reservation. Would you like something to drink?" instead of the incredibly rude way we were treated, as if we had to apologize for bothering the owners with our presence, we definitely wouldn't have left. Being left standing and ignored in the middle of the restaurant was the final straw. It's a shame we were treated this way, because the ambiance looked very promising.

Unfortunately, reservations are irrelevant here due to sloppy (multiple!) appointment scheduling. Despite this, there was an unfriendly explanation of the now necessary waiting time on site.

No, not like this! We recently returned to this restaurant after a long time, a place we've always enjoyed visiting! The food is rather simple, which doesn't mean it's bad. There's something for everyone! We'd say it's simple, solid cuisine. The service was, as always, very friendly! However, when the restaurant is busy, there are considerable waiting times. Taking drink orders, ordering food, and finally, receiving the dishes. Ordering additional drinks in such a situation is also very difficult. What really surprised us, though, was the new pricing and portion size adjustments! For example, the appetizer Dolmades: previously 5 pieces for about €6.50, now 3 pieces for €8.50. In our opinion, this approach is very cheeky and incomprehensible! The prices for the other dishes and drinks have also been changed. Due to these changes, we will probably not consider visiting this restaurant again!

The Greek restaurant Kavala in Altdorf is better than what you get at your average Greek restaurant. The staff is friendly and attentive. In the summer, you can sit outside. Even though we arrived spontaneously without a reservation, they still managed to squeeze us in. That's what I call good service.

We had a huge reservation at 5 for almost 20 people and they had everything perfectly ready for us! They ordered our drinks as soon as we sat down and came back quickly for our food orders. They made the food so fast that we were really surprised and all of our orders were perfect! It was so delicious and made really well! Our server, Max, was incredible because he took our entire order without writing anything down and every single order was correct! He was very friendly, polite, respectful, and spoke 4 different languages! He spoke to some of us in German, Spanish, and English and these were not even his native language. He was very impressive and this restaurant is very lucky to have him!! We come here everytime we visit from America and they have had the same napkins for over 15 years which we love for nostalgia reasons! A great place, but a little warm inside so dress light! (Parking is difficult to find sometimes but worth it!)

We went there for dinner for the first time based on a recommendation. Unfortunately, it fell far short of our expectations. After ordering, the first salad we received was just swimming in oil: leaf salad with a slice of tomato, a slice of cucumber, and a teaspoon of coleslaw from a bucket. Tzatziki as a starter came without bread. The main course arrived about 50 minutes after ordering, and there was no tzatziki on the plate. The meat was consistently cooked too long and too dry, and the tomato rice was too dry. The service was more concerned with regulars and friendlier. Unfortunately, no luck in finding a new favorite Greek restaurant.

The best Greek restaurant for miles around. We ate at Kavala for the second time on Saturday. And once again, it was perfect. There were six of us adults, and everyone found their food delicious and was extremely satisfied. The portions were generous and the prices were reasonable. The service staff is truly attentive and friendly. I would eat there again anytime and recommend it to anyone.

We had made a reservation. It was already very busy when we arrived. The staff was friendly and eager to please, but it was so busy that the kitchen couldn't really keep up. The food was delicious, and it wasn't noisy. Overall, a good experience, but we had to wait a long time for our food.

This was the best Greek restaurant I've had in a long time. And the service is fantastic. Unfortunately, you can't get in without a reservation.

We were looking for a place to stop for lunch on our way back from Prague to Dinkelsbühl. Google recommended this Greek restaurant to us. We were two adults, and I have to say, everything was just perfect. A great location in the historic old town, right by the city wall (gate). Super friendly, personable, and attentive staff. Decent portions and reasonable prices. A full 5 stars, we'd gladly go back!

Absolute recommendation! High quality of food, beautifully prepared, tastes very good. The staff is nice, they responded quickly to my email and easily accepted and confirmed my table reservation. I will say openly: The food was not tasty - very overcooked, with a lot of oil and fat. This was the worst Greek meal I've ever had. Even the bread wasn't fresh, it was already 2-3 days old. The staff tried hard to compensate for various things, but that couldn't save the situation.

Very tasty food, especially gyros, is no longer popular with most Greeks these days. In Nuremberg, for example Most of them are full of fat or burnt, but here they are absolutely delicious. The server is super friendly and helpful. The disadvantage is that on weekends without a reservation there will be waiting times as it is very popular. We really enjoy coming here from Nuremberg. Unfortunately, I expected more at 4.7 stars... In general it was nice, but there were a few things that bothered me. 1. There is hardly any choice for vegetarians. Apart from salad, sheep's cheese and baked mushrooms + a few starters, there are no vegetarian dishes. Several pages of meat and fish. 2. The stuffed grape leaves were stuffed with meat. We didn't expect that and unfortunately it wasn't described in more detail on the map. 3. My tomato rice was over-seasoned for my taste 4. It was extremely loud in the restaurant. I had severe problems communicating with my partner. 5. The waitress was dressed in sweatpants. I've noticed this several times in Greek restaurants, but I still don't think it's appropriate. Nevertheless, the service was super super nice! In general, despite the points mentioned above, we had a nice evening.

Full points! We were in the restaurant yesterday and, in addition to delicious food, we also experienced really outstanding service! Our waiter Max was super attentive and took the order in his head without any errors - mind you we were a group of about 10 people! Even our daughter (three years old) was simply handed a coloring book and crayons without us asking for them. It's great that the little ones have been taken into consideration here too! All in all, we had a lovely evening and would like to thank you again!

Are from Nuremberg and were invited to a 70th birthday yesterday. Since it has become difficult to find a "good Greek" with a good price-performance ratio in Nbg! We were lucky to find everything at once. Good authentic food for a normal price with great, friendly, prompt service and generous portions. The waitress "Max" was simply awesome! He was so enthusiastic, as if he had been put there just for our table. The restaurant was full, we ate very well and were completely satisfied :-))) we will probably make the journey to Altdorf to be able to eat very good "Greek". Simply a great Greek restaurant

That was the worst food we've ever eaten at a Greek restaurant, unfortunately it didn't taste like anything and for €18.60 for what little was on the plate it's a disgrace. The waiter wasn't exactly friendly either.
