Zweite Heimat in Passau

Ich habe die Zweite Heimat echt geliebt. Seit Eröffnung immer wieder dort gewesen, liebe die Burger. Ich habe aber festgestellt, dass inzwischen echt nachgelassen wurde in allem. Ketchup nicht mehr selbstgemacht, die Desserts inzwischen lieblos und generell wenig Persönlichkeit. Ich finde es super schade, dass es nach Jahren immer noch keine Lösung dafür gibt, dass man nach dem Besuch extrem nach Essen riecht, es im Eingangs- und Gangbereich im Winter super zugig ist und die Sanitäranlagen sind, wie sie sind. Die Zweite Heimat hat deutlich mehr Potential als sie nutzt. Beim letzten Besuch wurde uns dann mitgeteilt, dass inzwischen alle Burger nur noch mit Emmentaler (?!) gemacht werden, der nun wirklich überhaupt nichts auf Burgern verloren hat. Wo ist das Problem, Cheddar zu nutzen? Inzwischen bin ich leider sehr enttäuscht von der Entwicklung.

Positives: -die Pommes waren sehr lecker - der Veggie Burger war sehr lecker Negatives: -der ganze Innenraum stank nach Grill, ich weiß nicht ob das immer so ist oder die Abluft defekt war. In jedem Fall stinken Klamotten und Haare nach einem Besuch. Erklärt vielleicht warum innen niemand saß und außen jeder Platz belegt war - der Salat war ein wenig im Dressing versenkt worden, sonst aber lecker - der Kellerabgang zu den Toiletten und der Waschbeckenbereich wirkten ranzig und dreckig (die Toiletten selbst waren aber sauber) - der Wasserdruck am Waschbecken ist so stark, dass man sich erstmal mit Wasser einsaut - keine Kartenzahlung möglich Alles in allem ein durchwachsener Restaurantbesuch. Und noch ein Hinweis: Man sollte in der Speisekarte bei den Burgern bereits dazu schreiben, dass sich die Preise inklusive Beilage verstehen. Wir wären beinahe wieder gegangen, da wir 16€ für einen Burger allein zu teuer gefunden hätten. Mit Pommes oder Salat dazu ist es in Ordnung.

Schlechte Aufmerksamkeit für eine schlecht gelieferte Bestellung! Sie kümmern sich nicht um die Fehler und man zahlt 40 €, wenn man eine Bestellung erhält, abzüglich dessen, was man bezahlt hat! Ich empfehle es nicht!

Ich wage zu behaupten, wir haben den besten Burger der Stadt gegessen. Ich empfehle einen Besuch mittwochs, besonders zum „Zwickeltag“, da es dann Helles und Weinschorle Burger für nur 2 € gibt.

Ich hatte bereits mehrere Wochen im Voraus einen Tisch für einen Junggesellenabschied mit 8 Personen reserviert. Leider stellte sich zwei Tage vor dem geplanten Termin – eher zufällig im Zusammenhang mit einem anderen Programmpunkt – heraus, dass das Restaurant an diesem Abend gar nicht geöffnet hatte. Eine direkte Information seitens des Restaurants erfolgte nicht. Offenbar wurden bei der Reservierung meine Kontaktdaten nicht korrekt erfasst, sodass keine rechtzeitige Benachrichtigung möglich war. Dies führte dazu, dass ich sehr kurzfristig eine alternative Location für eine größere Gruppe organisieren musste, was mit erheblichem Aufwand verbunden war. Besonders enttäuschend ist, dass weder im Vorfeld eine Lösung oder Alternative angeboten wurde noch im Nachgang eine Kontaktaufnahme oder Entschuldigung erfolgte. Ohne die Eigeninitiative eines anderen Anbieters hätten wir letztlich vor verschlossenen Türen gestanden.

Wer in Passau gute Burger 🍔 essen möchte, der sollte unbedingt in der „Zweiten Heimat“ vorbeischauen. Die Speisekarte bietet die typischen Burger und auch Pulled Pork an. Die Qualität ist absolut top. Burger „Medium“ ist hier auch auf den Punkt gebraten. Mein BBC Burger mit Speck und roten Onions in der „veganen“ Dinkelsemmel war ein geschmackliches Highlight. Alles wird direkt hinter der Theke zubereitet, was leider auch etwas „Duft“ in der Kleidung hinterlässt. Der freundliche und aufmerksame Service wertet das aber schnell wieder auf. Sonst ist das Ambiente Burger-Restaurant-typisch, und bei warmen Temperaturen ist in der kleinen Gasse auch draußen an paar Tischen gedeckt. Hier war ich definitiv nicht das letzte Mal. 🍔😋👍

Wir waren gestern Abend dort essen. Eigentlich waren wir mit dem Essen eigtl. zufrieden – die Burger waren lecker. Leider hatten wir alle etwa anderthalb bis zwei Stunden nach dem Essen Bauchschmerzen und Durchfall, was den Abend deutlich getrübt hat. Schade, denn vom Geschmack her war alles gut, aber dieses Nachspiel macht es schwer, den Laden uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen.

Ich war nicht oft drin, weil man selten spontan nen Tisch bekommen hat und alles voll war. Die letzten Wochen war ich aber sogar zweimal relativ kurz hintereinander. Einmal hat alles gepasst, aber beim letzen mal mussten ich und eine andere uns hinterher heftig übergeben. Anscheinend war das Fleisch schlecht. Die dritte Person hatte nen vegetarischen Burger, da gab's keine Probleme hinterher. Die Auswahl find ich ansonsten gut auf der Karte, aber der ganze Laden stinkt nach Fett, die Klamotten kann man hinterher erst mal raus hängen zum lüften oder gleich waschen. Bei Minusgraden nähe der Türe zu sitzen, auch nicht gerade so angenehm... leider wars das für mich erstmal für die nächste Zeit. Schade auch, dass es keine Desserts gibt auf der Karte. Service freundlich.

Es ist geschlossen, Leute. Es war Ende Dezember und leider war es geschlossen. Verlasst euch nicht auf die Öffnungszeiten auf den Karten.

Ich habe heute Abend den unglaublich leckersten Pulled-Pork-Burger/Sandwich überhaupt gegessen und mich sofort verliebt … und dann war er auch schon wieder weg! Das Essen hier ist wirklich fantastisch. Wenn ihr Lust auf ein außergewöhnliches Essen habt, bestellt unbedingt den Pulled-Pork-Burger und genießt es, für ein paar Minuten einfach nur glücklich zu sein.

Für mich passaus bester Burger! Saftiges Fleisch, knusprige Brötchen und toller Geschmack! Auch die Chili Cheese Fries sind sehr zu empfehlen! Und sogar den Salat bekommen die lecker hin Mit größeren Gruppen sollte man jedoch wegen des platzmangels vorab reservieren

Man kann gemütlich sitzen. Burger waren super lecker. Der Service war auch sehr nett.

Super Burgerheisl, der Burger war so gut, dass ich ne halbe Tomate mitgegessen habe und mir wurde ein guter Deal zwecks Weißbierglas gemacht. Wirklich ein Speiselokal erster Güte, sehr empfehlenswert.

Waren heute das erste Mal hier essen war ein Traum, Chilicheese Burger und Pulled pork Kinder Pommes unser kleinster bekam dann von den sehr freundlichen und zuvorkommenden Bedienungen ein kleines Schälchen mit Pommes für ihn ganz alleine was aufs Haus ging einfach eine kleine Aufmerksamkeit die uns alleine deswegen wiederkommen lässt, aber zu den Burgern die waren einfach klasse Patty auf den Punkt gebraten sehr gute Qualität Buns super gut Soßen traumhaft und ansprechend angerichtet der Salat klein aber ausreichend bei halb und halb wohl gemerkt und sehr sehr fein und zum Ambiente hat irgendwie etwas wo man sich wohl fühlt, ist ein kleine schnukliges Lokal wir kommen bestimmt wieder danke für die freundliche Bewirtung und das gute Essen

Wir waren hier zu Viert einen Burger essen. Sehr lecker. Zu jedem Burger gibt es einen Salat oder Pommes dazu. Die selbstgemachte Pfirsich-Himbeerbrause war auch sehr lecker. Hier kann man gut essen. Sehr zu empfehlen.

In my opinion, the best burger in the world! Since opening, the quality has been consistently high: the best meat, the best buns, and the absolute best taste! Since I've lived in Munich, I've been coming to Passau at least once a year for the burger. Simply unbelievably delicious. To drink, I recommend the Heimatkracherl, a special aronia lemonade!

A really cute little shop with a small but fine selection of food. The staff was super friendly, and the burgers were incredibly tasty and juicy. We paid €42 for two, including a drink and fries each, which is pretty reasonable considering the quality. Perhaps thicker-cut fries would have improved the quality even further. But that's just a tip. Otherwise, we really enjoyed it and will be back soon. (:

Nice, small restaurant with good value for money. However, the outdoor seating is a bit tight. We enjoyed the taste, even if it was a bit too juicy for our personal taste. We especially like the fact that you can combine it 50/50 with fries and salad. It's a shame, though, that the only dessert on the menu was already sold out by 7:30 p.m.

It's a nice place to sit outside, and the service is friendly. The "Vegetarian Mix" burger was very good; unfortunately, we didn't like the "Vicky" burger of the month because the white bean patty was very dry. The side salad and fries were good. Drink prices were OK, except for non-alcoholic beer.

In Passau, where the Danube flows, a place that greets heart and stomach – the well-named Second Homeland, overwhelmed us with delight. A shop, small but full of energy, where burger art proudly gawks at itself. The meat was juicy, tender, perfect, the sauce flavorful, never intimidated. The buns: golden cloud flakes, not dry, no – they were allowed to rock. The sides – a crispy poem, fries like from the sunlight. The service was quick, with a smile, no reason to get upset, they fanned friendliness into your face – that's hospitality, you won't forget it! So I'll say it openly and without envy: In Passau, during burger season, it's a clear case – there's no way around the Second Homeland, my advice!

After a couple of weeks on the road we felt like something familiar and casual. What we didn’t expect was a real mouth watering burger. The online pictures do this place justice and they know how to make a serious burger and real fries. As much as I do like German food, this place is a great find.

I ordered the Classic (Beef) Burger. The patty was very juicy and tasty, and the bun was also very good. The fries were excellent—very crispy, well-salted, and came with two different sauces. To drink, I ordered the homemade strawberry-peach lemonade, which was very refreshing and delicious. Highly recommended for beef burger lovers!

I had a classic cheeseburger and unfortunately it was way too greasy. The buns were literally dripping. Unfortunately, the meat was hardly salted or seasoned and therefore not edible for me personally. I was actually always a fan of the Second Homeland, but something has changed over the years. After I asked the waiter if I liked it and told him that I didn't like the meat and excess fat, he reacted very rudely. In any case, I will not visit this store again. Appearance great, taste flop.

The ambience is very suitable for a burger joint. You feel good. The service is extremely friendly and generally on the ball. The burgers are okay, but very greasy. Unfortunately it's so greasy that hardly any of the taste of the organic ingredients comes through. The same applies to the fries.

We waited over 40 minutes for our food. We weren't told that it would take longer and we weren't offered our sides as a starter or even another starter for that time. After we ate, Keller asked us several times if we wanted anything else because we had been sitting there for a long time. We had only just finished eating and had only been sitting at the table for so long because we had waited so long, which I found unprofessional. The food was good but the service could still be worked on.

Hello folks..... Went for a burger on Monday February 10th, 2025. Yes, it's true when you leave the restaurant you smell like a burger, haha. Better like campfires or butts. But that doesn't bother me in the least as long as the burger is good. You can watch the Bruzzler process and grill the patties, I like that. It was our first time in the restaurant, we liked it and had nothing to complain about. Fries 10 out of 10 Burger 9 out of 10, could have been a little more meat. I will recommend you, of course only to burger lovers and people who don't mind the smell of burgers on their t-shirt/sweater... Greetings Andy Have a nice working week......

After a few years I was back in my “second home”. This time with a bad experience. The first thing you notice is that the air is extremely stuffy. Probably a bad ventilation system. After the visit, the clothes smell disgustingly of smoke. The second thing that stood out was the grill master's grim look and apparently bad mood. I actually wanted to leave again. Unfortunately, I had an appointment with someone at this restaurant. The young employee deserves praise, very friendly and attentive. Overall, the store now seems run down, everything is very unkempt and dirty. Hallway and toilet also unhygienic. The food is average. Small patties, the prices outrageous. Just under €17 (!!!!) for a burger, green tea €5.20 for a supermarket tea bag, €4.80 for 0.4l spritzer. But the store still seems busy, probably due to a lack of competition. I wonder how long these prices will continue to be accepted by guests.

We recently went to Second Home and were thrilled. We've eaten a lot of burgers, but in Second Home it's first class! The food, service and everything about it was an experience. You will get a clear recommendation from us and we will definitely not be with you last time.

As a native of Passau, I can definitely recommend the Second Home as the best burger in the city. The staff is super nice and polite and it is nicely decorated. The selection of burgers, salads and drinks is classic and everything is freshly prepared behind the counter. PS: the veggie burger, the salads and the sweet potato fries are heavenly!!!

Small burger shop, but big class! Super quality ingredients and perfect preparation make these burgers something unforgettable! If requested, the burger can be grilled medium and then it really is medium! Big praise to the grill master! Everything tastes good here! I've never had better sweet potato fries! I also think it's great that you can watch the preparation and see exactly what's happening. The animal style is highly recommended. I've never seen it like this before, but it tastes great! Many thanks also to the very friendly and quick staff! If I'm in Passau again, I'll definitely come back here!

The fries were very salty and the meat and the roll had no taste and the drinks were not chilled. I can't really recommend Second Home.

Best burgers in town! The Second Home takes supposed fast food to a new level. Simply excellent in terms of taste and quality. So does the creativity of their monthly changing burger creations. The cozy atmosphere is reminiscent of a hip Berlin pub and the service is always friendly and ready to give advice. I am pleased to be able to use my marketing consulting and graphic design services to give the store a look that does it justice and would like to thank you for the always good cooperation and numerous cappuccinos and burgers (: Here’s to many more!

I've known the shop for a few years and have always enjoyed going there because the burgers and fries are great and the mood and ambience are just right. But now we actually ate there once with our little son (2) and the child-friendliness simply blew our socks off. Everything was really done to ensure that we and our little one had a wonderful experience. A big thank you to the kitchen and service team at the place!

I come to Passau once every year and the first thing I do is pay a visit to my second home. The cheeseburger is simply the best I know. The medium organic meat is super juicy, the sauce tastes great and is perfectly dosed, and the roll is toasted to just the right amount. We can only support the fact that the store consistently focuses on organic products and I imagine that you can taste the difference, especially when it comes to meat. Enough of the adulation, just go and try it. It's worth it!
