Hello, This evening we spontaneously decided to eat at the "Zur Schaabe" inn in Glowe. During peak season, we certainly wouldn't have gotten in without a reservation. Well, what can I say? The restaurant is highly recommended. The delicious gourmet schnitzel (with cauliflower and steakhouse fries) for me and the linguine with homemade pesto for my wife were both excellently prepared and tasted fantastic. And the price is completely justified. The friendly and uncomplicated service made the evening perfect. Many thanks and best of luck!

We had a wonderful murder mystery dinner with excellent food and truly great entertainment. The service was, as always, top-notch. Highly recommended. The food and service are outstanding not only on such special evenings, but also on "normal" days. A visit to the Schaabe is an essential part of a great vacation for us. I've eaten there twice now. Once with friends, and we had schnitzel. I personally found it a bit salty and would have preferred the fried potatoes to be cooked a little more and crispier. But that's a matter of taste. The waiters were incredibly friendly and even let us sit down after 9 pm, which was really nice, as it was my birthday. Yesterday I was there with my family, and I had the best Königsberger Klopse (meatballs) I've ever had. The waiter was very friendly and kept in touch with the guests.

Very warm, friendly, and open. The service at the table was quick and friendly. I'm gluten intolerant and mentioned this when ordering. Despite the restaurant being very busy, they specifically asked the kitchen for a change. They even showed me the list of ingredients for part of the dish – without asking! I've rarely experienced such consideration and effort. It tasted wonderful, and we'd love to come back.

You immediately notice that service is a top priority here, and the well-being of the guests is their top priority. The ingredients were fresh, high-quality, and perfectly matched. I was particularly impressed by how creative yet down-to-earth the dishes were; you can simply taste the passion that goes into the cooking here. We can only review the restaurant: We made a reservation today (Friday afternoon) for 5 p.m., just in time. Many other guests arrived later and had to be turned away—very politely. Advance reservations are therefore highly recommended. The decor is original and quirky, yet very cozy. The restrooms are clean and chic. The staff are very friendly and humorous, and attentive to their guests. It was very crowded, and the men were running like rabbits, but they remained very attentive and friendly the whole time. The food—the portions were huge. Really huge! The fried potatoes and fries were crispy and perfectly seasoned. The schnitzel and cod were also absolutely fantastic. The prices for the portions are unbeatable! In summary: delicious, entertaining, a perfect end to our vacation. If we don't burst, we'll be back!

We went to the inn as a family for dinner. Without a prior reservation, we couldn't get a table. The atmosphere in the dining room was not pleasant. And we didn't like the atmosphere. It was packed, very loud, with whining babies and dogs the size of "just about fits under the table," and the waitress was barked at if she dared to walk past. That's completely unacceptable! The waiter was very abrupt with us and had an arrogant demeanor. The tables were far too close together, with no room to push the chairs back when getting up. The menu was rather unimaginative, and all the dishes (we had five different ones) were poorly presented. The taste was average – not good value for money for us. Conclusion: We've been to Glowe so many times and never to this inn before. Now we know why not.

The restaurant was always fully booked during our stay, too. We had four different dishes and were all completely full and satisfied. It was truly delicious. The vegetables tasted like frozen soup vegetables, hollandaise sauce from a carton, and the schnitzel was reheated. The food was served in just a few minutes, despite the place being full. You can't make it fresh like that.

The food is incredibly delicious, everyone there is in a great mood and always has a witty joke ready. Eating there puts you in a really good mood. We had a great time in a very pleasant restaurant. If we're ever back at Glowe, we'll definitely be back. Many thanks to everyone on the team.

The three of us arrived at the restaurant around 6:00 PM on a Thursday. Without a reservation, we were seated quickly and courteously. The experienced waiters were consistently very friendly, and the food was traditionally delicious. Both the zander and the Königsberger meatballs were delicious. In terms of value for money, this restaurant clearly stands out in this area. We'd be happy to return and wish the restaurant all the best.

We went to the restaurant on September 22, 2025, around 7 p.m. without a reservation, just on the off chance. The waitress asked us very kindly if we had some time. He said he would make sure we got a seat. We were able to sit right at the counter, order a drink, and shortly after, our food. We were asked beforehand whether we wanted to stay at the counter or whether we needed a table. The counter was no less comfortable than a table, so we stayed there and didn't have to wait long for our food. In short, the food was very, very good, every server made you feel welcome, and overall, the restaurant has a charm that makes you feel at home. A definite recommendation!!! :-)

Six of us had dinner at this lovely restaurant today. We had reserved a table, friendly service, and delicious food! We'd barely finished eating when we were asked how long we'd be waiting, as others were already waiting for their seats...we were speechless! And then the irritated waiter who took our money was the icing on the cake...we won't be coming back. It's a shame, but you just can't treat customers like that!!!

Inside, you'll find a rustic, cozy restaurant with a touch of pub-like atmosphere – only better. Everything is clean, well-maintained, and very inviting. The staff deserves special mention: incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm. You immediately feel welcome as a guest, without it feeling forced. The menu is deliberately kept small, but you immediately notice that everything here is fresh and of top quality. The portions are generous and truly flavorful – I highly recommend the fried potatoes in particular. For me, this is the best restaurant on Rügen, and definitely a highlight in Glowe. If you don't stop here, you're missing out – the other restaurants in town can't compete.

The bathroom wasn't cleaned. The grout between the tiles was black with mold. The staff, and especially the manager, reacted unfriendly to the criticism raised about the mold problem. Dinner in the restaurant wasn't possible because it was so full all evening long. The breakfast buffet was carelessly crammed into a corner, so only one person could serve themselves at a time. You can't book a specific room. Our room was in the attic and therefore very hot; sleeping with the window open was impossible because the window faced the street, and the traffic was too noisy. Caution: Parking is charged at an extra €5 per day. But the price seems to increase every year. Expensive - not worth the price.

We spontaneously went there for dinner last night. We didn't have a reservation, and all the tables were taken, but we were offered a seat at the bar. Personally, I have to say we couldn't have asked for a better spot. The crew is really great, friendly, and well-coordinated. We had a lot of laughs, mainly thanks to Steffen (he wanted to be mentioned personally 😉) from the kitchen, who kept peeping out the swinging door and cracking a joke or two at us. The food was excellent: schnitzel with letcho and salad, a definite recommendation. Homemade lemonade and iced tea rounded it off. Thank you so much for the experience! We ate there twice, and for good reason. We were lucky, as it's very busy. Reservations are recommended. We received a very friendly welcome, were seated, and were perfectly looked after. The homemade lemonades are an absolutely refreshing highlight, as is the warm and friendly staff. No matter where we end up next time on Rügen, no journey is too far. Today I ordered Gongorzola pasta and received cheese pasta, which unfortunately didn't get any better even after asking and tasted of Gongorzola. All other dishes were fine and good. There was no apology or replacement.

The servers were very friendly, attentive, and contributed to a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The prices are absolutely fair: we paid €110 for four people. During the high season, reservations are essential, as the restaurant is very popular. Completely satisfied – we'll definitely be back!

This restaurant was recommended to us for our stay in Glowe. Luckily, we had made an online reservation a week in advance, because on our evening (Thursday at 6:45 p.m., during the summer holidays) it was really full and they had to turn away guests without reservations. However, this was handled in a friendly and very accommodating manner. We spent a wonderful evening there. Everything was perfect for us from start to finish. The waiters love their job, and you can tell. They're not just there, but right in the middle of things and always up for a little private chat or fun. We really liked the ambiance of the restaurant. We immediately felt at home. The dishes were beautifully presented and tasted impeccable. We also left a generous tip. Luckily, we live right on the island and can visit again sooner. We will definitely do so, with advance reservations, of course ;)
