Swabian cuisine and home-style cooking – quite decently prepared. Tripe is recommended. The plates could be presented more attractively, and the portions are quite large – a slightly smaller portion for €2 less would be perfectly adequate :-) 3 stars because the soup was extremely salty and almost all of it was sent back (as was the case with other guests), but the server showed no understanding or apology whatsoever...

This was our second time visiting the saddlery for mulled wine with the department. Each time we received an extremely friendly and attentive welcome and service. The guys are simply fantastic! We'll definitely be back ❤️

We made a reservation for a group in the rustic wooden cabin. We received a warm welcome, and the service was very attentive, with everyone always ready with a witty remark. The food portions were delicious and plentiful. Many thanks to Ms. Ziegler for the easy reservation process. Please keep the winter cabin open! 👍 We'd love to come back.

We were there on Saturday at 7 pm. Great atmosphere in the Sattlert Hut with very good food and excellent value for money – large portions, great quality, and a pleasant host (room) despite VfB's defeat 😅

We were traveling in Canstatt and wanted to grab a bite to eat spontaneously. We were turned away everywhere because we didn't have a reservation. Nevertheless, we were warmly welcomed here and seated at a small table. We didn't have much time, and everything was handled quickly. The food here is delicious, Swabian home cooking at fair prices. Highly recommended. We heard they're building a winter hut. It sounds very interesting, and we'll definitely try it out.

We invaded the restaurant at lunchtime with 13 people! No reservations. After a 10-minute wait, we spent two hours enjoying delicious food and superb hospitality. A special greeting from the people of Baden goes to Vincent.

Unfortunately, the selection of restaurants in Cannstatt is rather limited, so we were happy to find this quaint Swabian restaurant with outdoor seating. It's centrally located in Bad Cannstatt and easily accessible from Wilhelmsplatz. The antique-style decor creates a very cozy atmosphere. As soon as you walk in, you notice that everything is very clean and well-maintained. On October 12th, we enjoyed delicious Swabian food with generous portions at a fair price. They even offer a good selection of specialty dishes for seniors. The friendly and attentive staff had a nice saying for each guest. Restaurants like this are unfortunately rare these days.

Old traditional Swabian restaurant on the market square. The menu features traditional Swabian food. The fresh salads for vegetarians are particularly worth mentioning. What stands out are the high prices. These are partly concealed, for example, by no longer serving 0.5 liters of beer, but only 0.4 liters. Due to the high price, I was very excited about the cheese spaetzle. The food looked very good, but it showed little sophistication in the selection of special cheeses. Instead, it was salty and had little of the cheese flavor that comes from using older cheeses. The food was good, but much too expensive. My companion's dish was very good, but it should be for that price. Again, there is no real justification for this.

Spontaneity pays off. After a climbing course, we spontaneously drove towards Bad Canstatt to enjoy some time by the Neckar River. On foot, we came across this place at the market square. Nice beer garden, delicious food, especially for the price. I couldn't finish my schnitzel and was overwhelmed by the portion size :) The staff is also very friendly and up for a bit of fun. There's a wide variety of dishes for all ages. It's worth stopping by. When the weather's nice, the kids also enjoy playing with the water at the nearby fountain and cooling off. Unfortunately, the food was definitely not to my taste. Cheese spaetzle for almost €20! And it had no flavor at all. No salt, and most importantly, they definitely didn't use any mountain cheese. The taste was absolutely awful...🫤

I had high expectations of this quaint, yet rather expensive restaurant, but I was very disappointed. Based on my meal (asparagus with pancakes) on the early evening of May 15, 2025, I cannot recommend this restaurant. The asparagus was as thin as a soup asparagus, too soft and stringy. That shouldn't happen for around €25. The pancakes and hollandaise sauce were good. The waiter acknowledged my complaint, and that was it. My three companions were satisfied with their meals. The ambiance is original.

Since we were only there for one (two) beers, we can't rate the food... but it looked great? Flowers on the table needed to be watered and the waiter immediately rushed over with a watering can and watered all the plants.

This inn deserves 6 stars and more. We come from Brandenburg and always enjoy coming here when we are in Cannstatt. The overall atmosphere, the food, the service... Top Top and again Top. We'll be back.

Ate well, service very attentive. We sat outside and enjoyed the atmosphere next to the market square. There was a play container nearby so that even the littlest ones had their fair share.

The food there was really good, but some of it could have been more seasoned. We had various dishes based on Maultaschen, onion roast beef, schnitzel and saddlery grill pan and we were all very satisfied, and the salad was also very varied with various ingredients. Can recommend the restaurant :)

We sat on the terrace and only had drinks, Aperol Spritz was delicious :) However, we had to wait a long time until the order was taken.

The ambience is rustic and cozy, the service is very friendly and attentive. Roast roast and schnitzel were very tasty. The Marktpfännle and the rum steak weren't that nice and were far too overloaded with fries and sauce. Both the fries and the fried potatoes tasted good but were unfortunately too greasy. The way they were presented was rather outdated and not something to look at. Unfortunately, price-performance was not justified. Unfortunately, spaetzle was not homemade.

The saddlery is really recommended! We happened to pass by while looking for a place to have dinner. The restaurant is very cozy, the staff is very friendly and the food is really good. Traditional Swabian cuisine - perfect for tourists like us :-) but certainly also good for locals. The prices weren't cheap, but still OK and the food was homemade. We felt comfortable!

Impossible service. You wait half an hour to even be asked if you want something to drink. Eating takes 1 hour or more. You don't get cutlery for eating either. We had to take our food with us because otherwise we wouldn't have made it in time. Not recommended for away fans. Food isn't worth the price either. No recommendation!!!

I was here for dinner. The menu offers steaks, schnitzels and vegetarian food. There is also home cooking such as Kuttle with Brägele, lentils with Spätzle and so on. The service was super friendly and attentive. A visit is highly advisable, you just have to make a reservation.

She has a good reputation, but unfortunately it didn't work out on this visit. The dressing for the side salad was bland and my roast, which was specially ordered medium rare, came to the table medium well. The Pfännle was also overloaded and the spaetzle was bland and dry.

Essen war gut, nur viel zu teuer: 2 Semmelknödel mit Waldpilz-Ragout für 28€, das ist überteuert. Sehr gewöhnungsbedürftiger Service, trotz leerem Lokal an Minitisch gesetzt ohne Beinfreiheit (Balken am Boden).

Unfortunately I have to change my rating today because I drove from Freiberg Neckar to Stuttgart. I had called here beforehand to see if they were open for a spot. That was okay too. However, they didn't tell me that there was only the holiday menu. The last few days I was there, there was a holiday menu and the normal menu. That was okay. Now the only thing I would have eaten on the holiday menu was the braised beef and that was out. They should have told me on the phone that there is only this menu and the roast is out. It's a shame that I had to drive 40 km here for free and come back again without food.

The daily meal was great and not too expensive. But all the dishes on the menu were overpriced in my opinion. Beef goulash with bread dumplings €12.00 as a daily meal, but on the menu as a normal dish €30.00! ?????? Therefore only 3 stars!!

Wir hatten im Nebenzimmer reserviert und waren erstaunt wie man als Gastronom solch einen Raum seinen Gästen anbieten kann. Die Wände sind fleckig, in den Ecken hängen Spinnweben, viele Bodenfliesen sind kaputt und in den Ecken sammelt sich der Dreck. Mitten an der Wand befindet sich eine Abzweigdose ohne Deckel. Der Heizkörper ist komplett versifft, die ehemals weißen Hussen über den Stühlen sind auf der Sitzfläche fleckig und im Bereich der unteren 20cm grauschwarz verfärbt. Bleibt zu hoffen daß sich die Küche in einem besseren Zustand befindet. Die Linsen um über 18€ waren etwas fad, eine Saitenwurst wurde aufgeplatzt serviert und die Spätzle waren nicht hausgemacht. Anstatt Essig zu den Linsen zu reichen gab es, wie in einer Imbisbude, einen Korb mit Ketchup, Senf und Mayo aus dem Einwegbeutel in billigster Qualität. Die aufgerufenen Preise für die Speisen wären akzeptabel, wenn die Räumlichkeiten und das Essen einer besseren Qualität entsprechen würden. Fast jeder Landgasthof kann das besser

We had reserved a room in the next room and were amazed at how a restaurateur could offer such a room to his guests. The walls are stained, there are cobwebs hanging in the corners, many floor tiles are broken and dirt collects in the corners. In the middle of the wall there is a junction box without a lid. The radiator is completely dirty, the formerly white covers over the chairs are stained on the seat and have turned grey-black in the lower 20cm area. Let's hope that the kitchen is in better condition. The lentils for over €18 were a bit bland, a string sausage was served split open and the spaetzle wasn't homemade. Instead of serving vinegar with the lentils, there was a basket with ketchup, mustard and mayo from the cheapest quality disposable bag, like in a snack bar. The prices quoted for the food would be acceptable if the premises and the food were of a better quality. Almost every country inn can do it better.

Were here again today and, like the last visit, were totally impressed by the friendliness. The service was very courteous, almost family-like, and absolutely fluid. Everything went like clockwork, we were asked regularly and attentively about our wishes, even though we were sitting in the next room. Everything came quickly and tasted wonderful. At the end we were very full and very grateful. Here they definitely know what perfect service and great food are. Absolute recommendation, and we would be happy to come back again.

Tolles Restaurant im schönen Bad Cannstatt! Wir sind auf unserem Besuch anlässlich des Champions League Spiels Stuttgart - YB per Zufall auf das Restaurant zur Sattlerei gestossen und haben es nicht bereut. Tolles Essen, wir hatten Rostbraten und Rumpsteak mit div. Beilagen, gutes Bier und freundliche Bedienung in schöner Location. Alles in allem eine Super Adresse, lediglich die Dame an der Bar war so etwas von unfreundlich und überflüssig…. Geht eigentlich gar nicht!

Wir haben zwei Wochen im Voraus einen Tisch für sechs Leute extra in der gemütlichen Gaststube reserviert (der Tisch war mit Tischnummer zugesagt) und eine Woche davor noch einmal versichert bzw. bestätigt. An besagtem Abend war dieser Tisch dann zur vorgesehenen Uhrzeit (wir waren pünktlich) komplett belegt. Auf die Rückfrage, dass wir extra einen Tisch im Gastraum reserviert hätten, weil wir eben nicht im Zelt vor der Gaststätte oder im ungeselligen Nebenraum speisen wollten, wurde uns barsch von einen der beiden anwesenden Wirtsleute (der sich als Chef ausgegeben hat) gesagt, dass wir im Zelt Platz zu nehmen hätten. Der andere der beiden Wirtsleute, der die Reservierung aufgenommen hatte, entschuldigte sich, aber natürlich haben wir diesen Abend dort nicht verbracht. Zur Güte der Speise ist in diesem Kommentar nichts zu sagen, es geht um etwas anderes: das Nichteinhalten einer Tischreservierung ohne Rückmeldung an die Gäste (meine Handynummer war hinterlegt) ist so etwas wie ein No-Go im Umgang mit der Kundschaft.

Why are there only the points... Food, service and ambience... There's not much to complain about... But who's afraid of the "price" category... the owners or Google??? So the prices are definitely too high even for Stuttgart and a “normal” restaurant. Take a look at the price list for the dishes beforehand... This is all €5 too high for almost every dish... I won't be coming back...

A quaint, small economy Food really tasty 😋

We stopped here for lunch during the voltsfest parades (end of September) and it was so good! We came by recommendation and it didn’t disappoint! Really good lunch spot with great beers. I wish I took some photos but the star of the show was the goulash with Spatzle, it was so hearty and the meat was ridiculously tender and melts in your mouth. It’s just off center of Bad Cannstatt so tucked away and very peaceful location. Would definitely be coming back next time!!
