Low profile restaurant in the outskirts of Trier but extremely pleasant, friendly atmosphere. It is immediately noticeable that this is a long-lived family business that has been supported by generations. Extremely correct, available and friendly staff. The food was delicious and more than enough for a very reasonable price. The children's menu and option for smaller portions was also very welcome. As a foreigner, keep in mind that they only accept national bank and credit cards, so it is best to provide sufficient cash in advance. An ATM is available just opposite the restaurant. Ample parking nearby.

Zeer proper, doch laagdrempelig restaurant. Uiterst correct en vriendelijk personeel, altijd beschikbaar en vlot in bediening. Heerlijk eten en ruim voldoende, maar voor kinderen of kleinere eters bestaat ook de optie voor kleinere porties. Democratische prijzen en ruime menukaart. Enige wat we een beetje misten, was een uitgebreide wijnkaart. Maar dat was zeker geen reden om dit gezellige restaurant met heerlijk eten en een uitmuntende bediening minder aan te prijzen.

Hello Joice and Lukas, We met almost a year ago on Thassos and finally managed to visit your restaurant. We have rarely felt so comfortable and eaten deliciously, it was a crowning conclusion to a beautiful day. It was my first time there, but definitely not the last time. It was very warm that evening and all the seats were occupied. Nevertheless, the service worked flawlessly and small requests for changes when ordering food were implemented without any problems. The food was served quickly - considering the company. There was nothing to complain about in terms of taste. The menu is more down-to-earth, but there is also a selection of changing dishes. The price/performance ratio is definitely right and the portions are generous. We sat outside in the courtyard. The design still has room for improvement, but hats off to the mileage of the service staff, who have to walk long distances up a flight of stairs into the courtyard for every order!!! have put back. It was a successful evening in every respect.

It was once again very tasty. We were there with 8 people. The food was served at the same time and was really hot. Although the restaurant and terrace were at full capacity, the Kanzel team had everything under control. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back. Thank you for the delicious food and the great service.

Nice beer garden; large parking lot; everyone in the service is very accommodating and you never have an empty glass; Great food: rarely had such a good steak that was medium rare; large side salad; delicious wine... what more could you want, for example at the end of a wonderful bike tour on the Moselle or Kyll... keep it up

Best restaurant in the area. Ate here several times during our stay in the area and the food was delicious every time. The portions are large for a reasonable price. The staff is super friendly and the service is perfect. If I'm ever in the area again I will definitely stop by!

The waiters ignored us. Even though there was plenty of room in the restaurant, they said that since we had not made a reservation, they would not serve us. Apparently someone didn't want to make money. EDIT: The owners' response is impudent. I arrived by car, absolutely sober. I don't drink alcohol at all because it's not good for my health. I have never encountered such a brazen attack. Your answer is a clear example for me that we did the right thing by not taking advantage of this restaurant's offer. We will definitely not come back again and we will not recommend it because you are impertinent.

I had dinner there with my husband last summer. The food was ok, but the pepper sauce needed a lot of improvement. The beer garden seemed careless and slightly unkempt and the toilets reflected this. Maybe we just got the wrong day. The staff, however, was super friendly.

Rustic restaurant that has been keeping guests full since 1912 :-). The service is attentive and quick. We really enjoyed the food and I found the portions to be quite large - there are also senior and children's sizes - which I think is very nice. The cuisine is German and hearty. My tomato soup with cheese gratin was nice and hot and delicious. We'll definitely stop by here as soon as we're in the area again.

I visited it 2 years ago and it has not lost its quality, its service or its seasoning. The onion soup is great. There is parking in the area. Indisputable quality and quantity price. The staff is friendly and willing to help.

Sehr leckeres wirklich frisch und mit Liebe gekochtes Essen! Habe noch nie so gute schollenfilets gegessen mit extravaganter Sauce! Auch der Hackbraten sehr lecker, der Salat mit selbst gemachter Sauce! Interessant auch ein Schnitzel auf Haferbasis, dies fehlt noch auf der Speisekarte im Internet. TZAZIKI wie in Griechenland, Zwiebelsuppe die beste in Trier! Im Gastraum etwas voll, verständlich jetzt in der Weihnachtszeit! Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder wenn es ruhiger wird!

Wir haben einen Geburtstag in der Kanzel gefeiert. Es war toll wie das Team die unterschiedlichen Essenswünsche, ob Vorspeise oder Hauptgang , auf den Punkt serviert haben . Kompliment an die Küche und das ganze Team. Immer wieder , kann man nur empfehlen , hier wird Gastfreundschaft gelebt. Herzlichen Dank

Das verstehe ich unter gut bürgerlicher Küche, Preis Leistung ist hier absolut in Ordnung. Gute Qualität für ein absolut fairen Preis. Manchmal wird es schon ein bisschen eng aber der Zulauf an Gästen spricht ja für sich, hab ich absolut verständnis für den wie soll ein Gastronom sonst dieses Preis Leistungsverhältniss halten können. Service ist top und steht's freundlich. Man sollte hier schon reservieren da immer gut Besucht. Komme gerne wieder.

Wir waren im Sommer in Trier und Abends in der "Zur Kanzel". Der Biergarten ist gemütlich. Sehr aufmerksames Personal und ein Hammer Schlemmerschnitzel. Wir kommen auf jedenfall wieder.

Wir haben dort ganz toll gegessen und getrunken. Das Personal war super freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir waren im Nebenraum der eigentlichen Gaststube. Man könnte vielleicht anregen, diesen genau so gemütlich zu gestalten wie den Rest. Aber ansonsten immer wieder gerne.

Nach mehrmaligem Besuch der Kanzel muss ich jetzt mal eine Rezession hinterlassen. Das Restaurant ist urig, also sehr gemütlich und hat eine hübsche Terrasse, auf der man man im Sommer schön sitzt. Das Essen ist jedesmal unfassbar lecker, vor allem die Schnitzel sind einfach göttlich. Aber auch Salate und die anderen Gerichte wurden bereits von „Mitessern“ gelobt und genossen. Der Service ist sehr freundlich und sie gehen auf Sonderwünsche ein. Tischreservierung ist von Vorteil. Es lohnt sich definitiv dieses Restaurant zu besuchen.

Das Essen war wirklich sehr lecker, die Portionen gut, der Service aufmerksam, was will man mehr. Wer draußen sitzen möchte, sollte am besten reservieren. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Schönes, gepflegtes Landgasthaus. Obwohl wir ohne Reservierung und mit Hund gekommen sind, wurde für uns trotz bereits sehr guter Auslastung des Lokals im Innen- und Außenbereich noch ein schönes Plätzchen gefunden. Der Service war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam und alle von uns bestellten Gerichte sehr lecker, besonders der sehr frische und mit vielen Komponenten angerichtete Beilagensalat hat uns begeistert. Alle Speisen wurden schön angerichtet auf gut vorgewärmten und dekorativem Geschirr serviert. Es hat also alles rundherum gepasst, hier kommt man gerne wieder und gibt auch gerne ein schönes Trinkgeld 👍

Sehr freundliches Personal. Essenportionen groß und sehr lecker. Gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Wir hatten Jägerschnitzel mit Bratkartoffeln und Beilagensalat sowie den Hähnchenbrustsalat mit Früchten. Netter Aussenbereich, den wir nur wegen der zu geringen Außentemperaturen nicht zum Essen gewählt haben. Absolut empfehlenswertes Lokal, kommen gerne wieder, wenn wir noch mal in der Gegend sind. Hätten wir das Restaurant schon am ersten Tag gefunden, wäre es sicher nicht bei einem Mal essen geblieben.
