Wir hatten einen Tisch reserviert, wurden sehr freundlich empfangen. Der Tisch war schön gede und sah ansprechend aus. Das Essen war sehr lecker. Ich hatte einen gebackenen Camembert und Salat. Dazu wurde Toastbrot und Butter gereicht. Sehr lecker. Der Service war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Hier gehe ich definitiv wieder hin. Empfehlenswert!!!

Tolle Speisekarte und sehr guter Service

Trier zu besuchen und nicht im Zur Kanzel zu essen, ist wie Barcelona zu besuchen und die Sagrada Familia zu verpassen! Ich war schon zweimal dort und möchte so schnell wie möglich wieder hin. Das Schnitzel ist himmlisch (und riesig!!!), der Service ist perfekt und sehr freundlich, und die Atmosphäre ist authentisch deutsch. Alle Schnitzelgerichte werden auch in kleineren Portionen serviert (Anmerkung: Was hier als „kleine Portion“ gilt, ist anderswo ein Buffet für vier Personen). Alles ist einfach köstlich, und das zu einem sehr fairen (fast schon günstigen) Preis. Ein weiterer Pluspunkt (für alle, die kein Deutsch sprechen): Alle Mitarbeiter sprechen sehr gut/perfekt Englisch und sind sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Toller gemütlicher Biergarten, sehr nettes aufmerksames Team, vom Beilagen Salat über die Schnitzel auch vegetarisch sehr schmackhaft einfach super 🫶 absolute Empfehlung!

An authentic and generous experience! We had a wonderful time at Zur Kanzel restaurant. If you're looking for real German cuisine, this is the place to go. Food: The pork escalope was excellent, and the fish with its meat sauce was a very pleasant surprise. Special mention goes to the salad served before the main course: very fresh and truly generous, just like the main courses! Service: A warm and attentive welcome (everyone speaks English). A huge thank you to Alexandra, who speaks a little French and was absolutely lovely to us. It makes all the difference! Convenience: Free parking right in front (but only 3 spaces), which is a real plus, but if there are no spaces left, you'll have to go further down the street or to the parking lot at the entrance to the town. Overall atmosphere: A lively buzz of customers typical of a small village restaurant. It immediately immerses you in the atmosphere of Germany! It still allows you to talk without having to shout. Das Restaurant zur Kanzel in Ehrang ist einfach nur super perfekt und auf jedenfall weiter zu empfehlen das Essen ist echt Hammer lecker und sehr frisch zubereitet Preis Leistungsverhältnis sehr gut Mann kann sich den Rest was man nicht mehr schafft einpacken lassen und mitnehmen und es schmeckt noch am nächsten Tag hervorragend das Ambiente ist auch einfach nur super gemütlich man fühlt sich direkt wie Zuhause und auch das Personal alle super freundlichund aufmerksam der Biergarten habe ich leider noch nicht aufgebaut gesehen aber das Hinterhof Ambiente mit dem tollen historischen Gebäude den Fachwerk Gallerien sieht einfach nur jetzt schon bezaubernd aus man kann beim Anblick schon erahnen wie idyllisch das da im Sommer ist ganz ganz dicke Daumen hoch 👍👍👍☺️☺️☺️👌👌👌

Ein hervorragendes Restaurant - tolles und frisches Essen, sehr aufmerksames und freundliches Personal, große Portionen, schnelle Bedienung sowie faire Preise. Man merkt, dass das Restaurant mit Herzblut und Leidenschaft geführt wird. Wir kommen sehr gerne regelmäßig! Tipp: vorher reservieren, weil es wirklich sehr gefragt ist.

Essen und Service sehr gut. Ambiente etwas altbacken und Geräuschkulisse sehr laut. Es waren an dem Abend allerdings auch zwei große Tische wodurch die Lautstärke wahrscheinlich lauter war als normal.

Die Medallions mit Pfeffersauce kann ich empfehlen; wir waren zu dritt und fanden das Essen alle wirklich sehr gut. Auch der Service war aufmerksam und super nett! Das Restaurant war ziemlich voll, aber nicht laut. Reservierung ist zu empfehlen. Bei uns hat es sogar sehr kurzfristig geklappt. Vielen Dank für den leckeren Abend.👌 Parken kann man am Kreisel auf einem recht großen Parkplatz. Hier waren freitagabend ne Menge Plätze frei.

Wir besuchen desöfteren dieses Restaurant, zu zweit oder auch mit der Familie , zuletzt am 14.2. ( Valentinstag). Ich weiß nicht wo ich anfangen soll, es ist einfach von A- Z alles stimmig ,perfekt ,so genial. Abgesehen von dem so tollen Service muss man ein so großes Lob an das Küchenteam aussprechen. Macht weiter so ,wir kommen immer wieder gerne .

Ein alteingesessenes Restaurant etwas abgelegen ausserhalb von Trier in Ehrang. Wir hatten einen Tisch für 4 Personen reserviert und bekommen. Das Restaurant war brechend voll, viele Tische mit größeren Gruppen besetzt. Ohne Reservierung hätten wir keinen Platz mehr bekommen. Der Service war sehr freundlich, die Bestellungen wurden zügig aufgenommen und ohne lange Wartezeiten geliefert. Die Portionen waren riesig und kaum zu schaffen. Qualitativ gut und gut gewürzt. Die Preise waren günstig, was die enorme Nachfrage erklärte. Die Geräuschkulisse ist daher sehr hoch, Unterhaltung schwierig. Toiletten sind ausserhalb, man musste bei kalten Temperaturen über einen Innenhof hierfür gehen. Es besteht dort Renovierungsbedarf.

Hatten für 4 Personen reserviert. Service kam sofort und nahm erst mal die Gertränke auf. Höflich, freundlich, nett, kompetent. Speisekarte sehr gut sortiert, - hier ist für jeden etwas dabei, - von Häppchen über vegetarisch bis deftig. TOP Sonderwünsche bei der Essensbestellung wurden ohne Probleme aufgenommen. Dann die Highlights: das Essen! Große, nein riesige Portionen auf heißem Teller serviert. Optisch sehr ansprechend angerichtet. Schmeckte richtig gut und war lecker. Ich selbst hab wegen der großen Portion nur die Hälfte geschafft, - der Rest wird problemlos vom Service eingepackt. Preis/Leistung TOP....... habe für ungefähr die gleichen Speisen woanders schon mal gut das doppelte gezahlt. Hier ist der Kunde noch König - in jeder Hinsicht. Kleiner Tipp wegen den großen Portionen: es gibt auf der Karte einen Bereich "kleine Portionen für Jung und Alt"......... (also das nächste Mal.......)

Der Service war sehr gut,das Essen war auch super lecker alles war einfach gut. Und am Ende konnten wir alle froh und munter aus dem Restaurant mit vollen Magen raus gehen

Waren für ein Wochenende in Trier und Umgebung und hatten einen riesen Kohldampf. Trotz vollem Restaurant und voller Reservierungen, konnte man uns noch dazwischen „quetschen“ also Service wirklich 10/10. Das Essen war selbstverständlich auch super lecker! Dankeschön und Grüße aus Duisburg :)

Ich möchte das Restaurant als Geheimtipp bezeichnen. Wir haben es bei unserem Kurzurlaub auch nur zufällig entdeckt. Unscheinbar in einer Häuserzeile..... aber dann wurden wir so natürlich herzlich empfangen, wie man es nur selten erlebt. Alle waren sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Die Speisekarte war auffallend sauber und die Auswahl der Gerichte sehr reichhaltig. Das Essen incl. Vorspeise hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt. Schade, dass wir nicht mal eben m die Ecke wohnen.

Wir kommen regelmäßig und genießen bei jedem Besuch sehr leckeres , frisch zubereitetes Essen . Die Portionen sind groß ! Alle im Service sind sehr freundlich, nett und sehr aufmerksam , man fühlt sich als Gast einfach wohl. Möchte man reservieren wird alles versucht dass es klappt ,selbst wenn viel ausgebucht ist. Weiter so !!

Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen und geschmeckt. Der "Chefkellner" war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Auch seinen Kolleginnen gegenüber, was ja leider nicht selbstverständlich ist. Das Personal hatte die vollen Tische Im Griff und die Gäste höflich und flott bedient. Eine richtig schöne Wirtsstuben-Atmosphäre, kein Schicki-Micki-Eiteitei.

Highly recommended! Super delicious food and large portions. For about €20, we got two large baked schnitzels, a side dish of your choice, and a side salad. The menu leaves nothing to be desired. Kudos to the service! Very friendly and accommodating.

A nice restaurant for Ehrang with good service and good, if not very good, food. The dining tables are clearly too small for several people, and the structurally sound countertops are quite shabby...

We ate there with six people. The portions are generous, and you can order side dishes for free. Everything tasted very good. The friendly service was particularly positive. There's also a large outdoor area – ideal for groups or for relaxing al fresco dining. Highly recommended!

A great place to linger and enjoy delicious food and drinks served by super friendly and attentive staff. I highly recommend the gourmet schnitzel. Simply fantastic! The beer garden is beautifully decorated. Please make a reservation in advance, though, and bear in mind that the bar is only open outside until 10 p.m. We'd be happy to come back.

The food I ordered was of very high quality and well prepared. I had the rump steak with mushrooms in a cream sauce. I ordered the steak medium, and it was cooked to perfection. The service was very fast and extremely friendly :) I have to deduct one star, however, because we had a window seat and there were an awful lot of flies there, which disturbed our meal. This should be improved. But you can avoid it by sitting in the beer garden when the weather is nice. All in all, a definite recommendation. 😃👍🏻

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3.0 out of 5) I honestly wonder how this restaurant earned an overall rating of 4.9. As someone who travels a lot and has eaten in numerous restaurants, I find this rating incomprehensible. The food was – in my opinion – average at best. The fries and croquettes seemed like classic frozen goods, and the entire meal was also very greasy and unrefined. Unfortunately, the taste was rather disappointing. I have the impression that many guests in Germany have relatively low expectations regarding restaurant quality: The main thing is that there's plenty and it's affordable – and they get top ratings. For me personally, that's not the benchmark for a rating of almost 5 stars. I've eaten at restaurants that have earned such a rating with great attention to detail, fresh ingredients, and authentic cooking – and this was a whole different league. It's a shame that I relied too much on the online reviews here.

Super delicious... from the outside, you'd hardly guess the beautiful beer garden in the courtyard. Large portions on hot plates ensure no one goes home hungry. The service is very friendly and prompt. Highly recommended :-)

Pros: Large portions – value for money! Good food – not a culinary highlight, but decent (with a lot of flavor enhancers). Fast and friendly service - pleasant pace, no long waiting times. Negatives: Reservation not kept - we were not given a place inside and had to sit on the terrace, in the middle of the smokers. Not ideal. Food is okay, but not great: Too much sauce on the meat, which lost the flavor. Side salad was very basic – mainly lots of lettuce, little variety. Baked camembert tasted bland (missing spice). Egg liqueur with the Dame Blanche was served too thin and too generously – less is more! Conclusion: A great place for a hearty meal, but not recommended if you are looking for something special or want a smoke-free place.

We were there today, food was good, service was great. Unfortunately, the ambience in the entrance area and on the terrace doesn't leave a great impression; if it were tidied up the whole thing would look different.

Super delicious food. The steak and roast beef were tender as butter, the salads were fresh and crunchy and the schnitzels were juicy. Large portion sizes, everyone should be satisfied. Zur Kanzel has to be one of the best restaurants in Trier. Food was amazing and so was the service. We had a lovely time. Would love to come back someday.

Unbedingt vorher reservieren, dieses Restaurant ist bei Einheimischen sehr beliebt! Gut bürgerliche Küche mit einer guten Auswahl, der Schwerpunkt liegt auf Steak und Schnitzel. Auch für Vegetarier bietet das Restaurant „Schnitzel“ auf Haferflockenbasis. Hat natürlich nicht viel mit Schnitzel gemein, ist jedoch recht schmackhaft und durchaus eine Alternative. Das junge Serviceteam macht seine Arbeit sehr gut und geht auf Wünsche seiner Kunden ein.

The atmosphere is very "traditional". Not old and worn, but old fashioned. But the service easily makes up for it! And the food ensures a completely successful evening. The price-performance ratio is also impeccable. Gladly again!
