Super lecker. Absolut zu empfehlen.

Sehr leckeres und besonderes Essen. Eine ganz neue und schöne Erfahrung. Zuerst wäscht man sich am Tisch die Hände. Empfehlenswert sind alle Speisen besonders lecker Addis Abeba Spezial. Freuen uns schon auf das nächste Mal.

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt im Restaurant Addis Abeba sehr genossen.

Es war total schön und sehr, sehr lecker. Wir essen vegan und sind super satt geworden und es schmeckt alles wirklich sehr gut. Danke!

Super nette Besitzer die uns sogar noch bedient haben obwohl der Laden eigentlich schon halb zu war. Und natürlich essen auch mega lecker!

Wie konnte ich das drei Jahre übersehen. So leckeres Essen gepaart mit einem so netten Inhaber. Toll! Jederzeit wieder. Das Essen war sehr lecker. Die Menge war super und man hat trotz Sättigungsgefühl kein Fresskoma. Sehr gesunde Zutaten. Sehr schön waren auch die Erläuterungen des Inhabers zu den Inhaltsstoffen und Verträglichkeiten. Sehr versiert. Der Kaffee danach eine Wonne, sollte man probieren. Alles selbst hergestellt mit viel Liebe und Arbeit. Da kann man nur hoffen, dass sich so ein gutes Lokal lange hält und lange Erfolg hat.

Heute zum vierten Mal unfassbar leckeres veganes Essen gegessen 😍😍 so abwechslungsreich und so schmackhaft!! Durch das leckere Injera konnte man sogar glutenfrei bleiben :)

Super tolles Restaurant, ganz anders als man es kennt von regulären Restaurants, noch nie so netten Service und so eine so tolle Köchin gesehen. Das Essen ist auch unbeschreiblich gut.

Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und bestens versorgt, hatten sehr nette Gespräche mit Abraham und bekamen ein wenig Einblick in die Kultur Äthiopiens. Das Essen war reichlich, frisch zubereitet und auch für Veganer gab’s eine vielfältige Auswahl- einfach großartig und lecker!!! Absolut empfehlenswert, ein neues Lieblingsrestaurant! Wunderbares Essen, authentisch, super lecker und glutenfrei!

War hier heute spontan essen um mal etwas neues auszuprobieren. Ein gemütliches, familiäres Ambiente lädt zum Verweilen ein. Das Essen war wirklich lecker und ausreichend. Der Empfang war sehr freundlich und die gesamte Erfahrung durchweg positiv. Wir waren nicht zum letzten Mal hier

Wir hatten ein fantastisches Erlebnis im Addis Abeba! Gastgeber Abraham sorgte dafür, dass wir uns sofort wie zu Hause fühlten. Es war unser erstes Mal, dass wir äthiopische Küche probierten, und wir würden definitiv wieder dort essen. Wir bestellten eine Platte für zwei Personen, Getränke und Kaffee mit anschließendem Kuchen. Das kostete uns umgerechnet etwa 60 Euro und war somit sehr preiswert. Das Essen ist gesund und reich an Ballaststoffen, Mineralien und Proteinen. Wir verließen das Restaurant nicht nur mit vollen Bäuchen nach dem köstlichen Essen, sondern auch mit einer neuen Wertschätzung für die äthiopische Kultur und Küche. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Absolutely top-notch. The decor is harmonious, yet understated and not overwhelming. The food is the best you can get in Trier, and an absolute must-visit when visiting this ancient Roman city. The owner is very friendly, completely professional, and offers a truly memorable experience with modest means, including traditional handwashing at the table. You can see his passion for cooking when a true culinary revelation is presented to you under a beautiful Ethiopian basket. I hope I can visit Trier again sometime, just to spend my money in Addis Ababa.

A very warm welcome, a ceremony with handwashing beforehand, followed by authentic cuisine that was delicious. Afterwards, we enjoyed Ethiopian coffee served at our table. We were there for the first time on December 20, 2025. You immediately feel comfortable, like you're among friends.

A really lovely little restaurant. Authentic cuisine, a super friendly owner, and lots of interesting details about Ethiopian culture on the menu. The food isn't exactly cheap, but you can get seconds if you want more. The food itself was delicious and, despite being labeled "only" vegetarian, is even suitable for vegans. Of course, there are options for meat lovers as well. It's wonderful that we have places like this in Trier!

I found the ritual of washing our hands before the meal, with the offering of soap and water, very fitting. We ate with our hands from a large platter on which the food was served (as ordered): so delicious!!! And everything was gluten-free—even the flatbreads!

A very informal restaurant with a cozy courtyard in the heart of Trier South. African cuisine is a definite asset in Trier, where burgers and pizzas have become the dominant culinary staples. Addis Ababa is an incredibly delicious restaurant! There's something for everyone, even vegans! The service is super friendly and attentive, and the spices are simply delicious. The outdoor ambiance is super nice and cozy. The original coffee was incredibly delicious and the perfect finishing touch after the meal. We'd love to come back here again, even with friends and family.

We were here for the first time today and were thrilled! We had the beef and the chicken. The chicken had a pleasant spice and was very juicy in the sauce. The beef was nicely seared, only lightly seasoned, and served in oil without any sauce. We'll definitely be back!

We spontaneously arrived at the restaurant at 5:00 PM and received a warm and friendly welcome. The four of us shared a platter and easily got seconds after we finished the generous portion. The restaurant itself seems a bit plain, but the ambiance is more than compensated for by the friendly staff and the excellent food.

Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by an extremely friendly, smiling host. We chose to dine outside in the courtyard. The tables and chairs weren't ready yet, but that was quickly arranged. The atmosphere was a bit lacking, but this ensured we could fully focus on the food. My partner and I chose the house special for two (€42). See photo. The host came to our table and had us wash our hands at the table with a jug of soap and water, another first for us. And now for the food: delicious! A teff pancake was the perfect way to serve all the delicious food, and we had to stop regularly to tell them how delicious it was and to lick our fingers. Special compliments to the fish, which was sublime. We would definitely return if we were in the area.

A pure gem in Trier! The food is fantastic and the service is attentive. The owner, Abraham, is so friendly. Our go-to order is the vegetarian platter with extra shiro on the side and we always leave with happy bellies. The injera is authentic, made with 100% teff. If you have gluten sensitives, make sure to tell him and he will leave off the couscous. We have enjoyed having this fantastic Ethiopian restaurant here in Trier and highly recommend it for everyone!
