KAZUMI in Trier

I was really annoyed. The prices are outrageous – this has nothing to do with normal, inflated sushi prices anymore. At another restaurant in Trier with the same menu, you pay half the price. The value for money is simply out of whack. It's tasty, but it's not fine dining, yet they pretend to be. It's just a rip-off and incredibly frustrating. It's a shame, I'd like to support local businesses and restaurants, and I know everything is getting more expensive, but these aren't reasonable prices; they're just lining their pockets. The reservation system, which means you can't stay as long as you want with a €200 bill, is the icing on the cake. We had just gotten up and they were already seating new people. Rushing through breakfast and ripping people off – unbelievable.

The food was very good and fresh, but unfortunately the portions weren't enough. We had salmon sushi as a starter and beef curry as a main course. It's too expensive for the amount offered 🙁

We spontaneously stopped by Kazumi for lunch and were pleasantly surprised. The meal was a little feast for the senses: crunchy sushi, udon noodles, and gyoza, all fresh, delicately seasoned, and prepared with palpable love. You can tell that care and dedication go into every detail here—from the taste to the service. The server was warm, attentive, and attentive without being intrusive. Zero stars, we had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. After placing our order, we had to wait over an hour while guests around us who had arrived later were already receiving their food. Every time we asked, the server assured us it would only take "another two minutes," but the food simply didn't arrive. This service is simply unacceptable and really spoiled our entire visit.

We had dinner here. The ambiance is really nice, although the tables are a bit close together. The service was friendly, but we were only spoken to at the beginning and end of the meal. The beef was unfortunately a bit dry and lacked flavor, the vegetables were quite sweet for my taste, and the fish soup was a bit greasy. The decor is very appealing, but the food tastes more like that of a regular restaurant. The drinks, however, were very tasty! 2/5 Food

The experience at Kazumi (Grabenstrasse 6, Trier) was excellent. The service was very, very good, with friendly staff attentive to every detail. The food was truly delicious, with fresh and balanced flavors. The sushi was simply spectacular, the kind you can enjoy in every bite, fresh and full of nuances. The main course was also very filling, with a combination of ingredients that surprised with both flavor and presentation. Without a doubt, this is a place I will return to and recommend to anyone looking for quality, good service, and a pleasant atmosphere in Trier.

We walked past once. Since the restaurant is on the first floor, it's easy to miss. We had the starter for two (sharing is caring), and the dishes Kazumi's Teriyaki Plate with duck and one with shrimp. We had a very tasty meal in a quiet atmosphere.

So disappointed for the money you spend at this restaurant, €40-50 per person. You can go elsewhere with much better quality and service. ————— An unprofessional restaurant that made the wait for food too long, despite the light crowd. The tall, thin employee was very rude when asked why the food was taking so long. The quality of the food is too high for the price. Or is there racism here because I'm Asian? What a shame for this restaurant. At the very least, they should learn to respect their customers.

The Vietnamese waiter 🇻🇳😊 and another employee 👍 are still top-notch – respect to you 🙏 – but unfortunately, you can't be blamed for the boss's new "money is everything" policy 💶👩‍💼. New to the lineup: a "flying waiter" 🛫🍽️ – the kind who roams from restaurant to restaurant 🚶‍♂️➡️🍜➡️🍣 – and is probably starting his career as a rude person here 😏👏. It fits perfectly with the new mood: zero charm, 100% rip-off 💸. And then the kicker 💥🌶️: We ask nicely – like everywhere else in the world 🌏 – for some chili 🌶️. In any normal Asian restaurant ✅: free, like salt 🧂 and pepper 🌶️ in Germany. Here ❌: €2️⃣ for a single chili pepper 🌶️ 🤯💰. How does that appear on the bill 🧾? Probably not at all 🤷‍♂️. Result: We're out 🚪✌️. A restaurant that alienates regular customers like that 🗑️ shouldn't be surprised if word gets around 📢 and the competition 😈🍜🍣 claps their hands with joy 👏🔥. Salmon rice cakes are the best thing on the menu! Also Tuna tatar is delicious! Cocktails are great too, especially basil smash.

The first impression couldn't be better. If you get your table on one side of the restaurant, you'll have an interesting view of the city center. On the other side, you'll see the outdoor terrace with a beautiful view of the cathedral. The dark green decor makes it seem like a hybrid of an Asian restaurant and nature. About the food: The starter was a mini bao burger with fried shrimp. The ingredients were very fresh, the bao bun soft and fluffy... Everything was done right here. The side dish of homemade pickled onions is sweet and adds a varied flavor. Rounding off a simple and delicious starter. For the main course, the teriyaki plate with tuna steak in a sesame coating was absolutely convincing. The fresh cooked vegetables as the base of the plate with the homemade teriyaki sauce were certainly impressive. The classic Asian-style sesame rice (in terms of consistency and preparation) mixes well with the dish (just as it does when eaten dry). I would describe "this" as a high-quality dish where everything was done right. Then comes the tuna steak in a sesame coating... simply a dream. The sesame coating is seared crispy and truly delicious. The inside of the tuna steak is perfectly prepared (precisely cooked to bring out the maximum flavor). This transformed the high-quality main course into a "very tasty/special main course." 5 stars

Highly recommended restaurant! The sushi selection is truly extensive, and everything was incredibly delicious – the ingredients are fresh and high-quality. The Vietnamese rice noodle soup was also excellent: a large portion, flavorful broth, firm rice noodles, and fresh shrimp and fish. The service was very warm and attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant!

DELICIOUS SUSHI! Tastes very fresh and even the decoration looks great. Location does not seem that great at first sight, but upstairs there is a possibility to eat outside, with a view of the church towers!

I would especially like to highlight the attentive service. Without me having to say anything, two different waiters pointed out to me that several dishes contained ingredients that I probably shouldn't eat due to my pregnancy. I was pleasantly surprised by this. The food was delicious. We sat on the terrace overlooking Trier Cathedral.

The place is on the second floor of a building, that is why we just realise it even thiugh we pass by the street quite often. The service is ok, the food is nice. The portion is big. Probably for children’s menu, the variation can be added. Overall it is a nice experience.

Hi folks, tested this japanese type asian restaurant in Trier: Been 2 people, sat inside. Their concept is "asian fusion cuisine". Ordered wakame salad as appetizer and spicy green curry duck breast as main meal. Food was really nice indeed, though on the quite expensive side: Expect 60€ per adult for a standard 3-course *if* you stay with softdrinks. Add regular wine or japanese beer to easily beat this amount. Inconveniently located in pedestrian zone, better leave your car in a car park away. Service a bit on the slow side. If you look for a value japanese place, clearly pick elsewhere... i've seen better options in this area. If you plan going anyway, i suggest their curry, as quite some reviewers have done before, they seem popular specially for that...... Thanks for reading.

Best Hungarian service and best food in Trier!!

Truly exceptionally good—I've rarely had such good Asian food. The homemade curry is truly outstanding. The service also leaves nothing to be desired. A fantastic experience! It's a bit pricey, but it's worth it.

We stopped in spontaneously for lunch and didn't regret it. Very tasty curry, with a pleasant slight spiciness, and a delicious fruit cocktail to go with it. The ambiance and service were also top-notch. Perfect if you're out and about in the pedestrian zone at lunchtime.

No. The price of the dessert was completely excessive at 9 euros! The addition of fruit or berries listed on the menu was a red currant and three small blueberries. When I brought it up, they admitted that they had run out of fruit, but charged the full amount. No goodwill. This is not how you should treat customers. A no go for me, which is why I won't be appearing there again, especially since there are better Asian restaurants in Trier.

Absolute recommendation! This is truly the best Asian food I have ever eaten. The curry was slightly spicy, but spicy and not just burning in the mouth. Lots of different vegetables in it and the chicken fillet had a very thin, deliciously seasoned and crispy skin around it. The sushi is so fresh, not even the tuna had its - actually so common - companion, the intense smell and in general the fish melts in your mouth like butter. They also have a really good espresso martini!☺️ Definitely again❤️

Breaded chicken was almost raw and smelled bad, inedible. I complained and got a new meal straight away. The quality of the meat was very poor and the sauce was totally over salted.

We visited Trier for 4 days and ate at Kazumi twice during this time because we liked it so much. We particularly enjoyed the vegetarian tempura rolls as a main course, but our starters, summer rolls with shrimp and tempura vegetables, were also very tasty. The homemade lemonades and iced teas were also very good, although a little sweet. The service was friendly, unfortunately a bit slow on our first visit, but even more attentive on our second visit.

There's actually nothing to criticize. That's how you do it. The waitresses are friendly, attentive and competent. The food is prepared with fresh, good ingredients, clean and, above all, delicious. The price/performance ratio is also great. It's really nice how Trier as a location is clearly strengthened here.

The food was really delicious and athentic. We had the chicken with red curry and tofu with udon noodles and both dishes wer perfectly served and very tasty. Absolut worth it to try this restaurant in the center of Trier. You may have to wait a while to get a table but its worth it. Staff was very friendly and helpful too !

Essen ist geschmacklich gut, Salat ohne Dressing, Vorspeisen ok aber im Vergleich zum Hauptgang teuer. Service war unterirdisch. Nach 20 min kommt erst jemand der Bestellungen aufnimmt. Dann folgt irgendwie keinerlei Interesse mehr am Kunden. Ist es zu viel verlangt das man sich am Kunden orientiert? Leere Gläser bedeutet das man vielleicht noch was trinken möchte? Hat es euch geschmeckt, kann ich noch etwas für euch tun…einen schönen Abend gewünscht… Danke für euren Besuch…ich erwarte wahrscheinlich zu viel.

I can't think of anything that could be greatly improved. Really good food, very friendly and quick service. Everyone has fun at work and thinks along, that's no longer a given. Just charging 50 cents for the take-away box was a tiny bit of a dampener in the end, as it wasn't cheap. But the prices are absolutely right for the quality. Full 5 stars from me.

Das Essen war gut aber die Lautstärke im hinteren Teil war unerträglich zum Abendessen. Der Service geht, könnte besser sein. Man bestellt bekommt die Getränke, das Essen das war’s. Für alles weitere muss man sich bemerkbar machen. Man wird nicht gefragt ob es geschmeckt hat und zum zahlen kommt ein besonderer Kellner den man vorher nicht gesehen hat.

The food was absolutely excellent. We had miso soup and coconut soup and both were really delicious and the portion size was just right as a small starter. Afterwards we ate the red curry and the udon noodles, both with tofu, and there was absolutely nothing to complain about here either. There were a lot of vegetables, the tofu was on point, the sauces were very tasty and had great flavor nuances. There was also nothing wrong with the tea (kumquat and ginger). The service was friendly but gave a slightly indifferent impression, so that's a small minus here. I can't say anything about the sushi, but the quality of the fish in the deli counter looked excellent. Overall, a very clear recommendation!!! :)

We spontaneously decided to have lunch and were very impressed. We had coconut soup, spring rolls and summer rolls as well as a banto bowl with beef and gyoza. Everything was really very tasty and attractively prepared. We will be happy to come back.

We ate with nine people. It was very loud and difficult to hold a conversation. The tables were very close together, so you could feel your neighbor's back. The food was also decidedly bad. The prawns, for example, tasted very dry and old. The worn menu and dirty cutlery also bothered us. We didn't like being told right at the beginning that you were only allowed to sit for two hours; well, it was a bit unfortunate how it came across. I hope it's not always like this; at least, that was the last time we were there.

While I enjoyed the food here quite a lot, unfortunately the service has been anxiety inducing 2/3 times I came due to one of the waiters. I think he must have a serious issue if asking whether he by chance speaks english is taken so violently - he jumped at me saying no and asked if I spoke hungarian in a very rude and angry tone. It was a mere question to ease communication, all the while English is not my first language either. Neither was I implying he should, I just wanted to order the correct thing. Moreover he kept talking fast german to me after he had it clear I don't understand. I was literally shouted at for trying to communicate. The reason I write this is that this was not the first time this particular guy was so unpleasant, in my first visit a year and a half ago he was extremely aggressive in his attitude too and shocked the whole table with how he allows himself to treat clients not even in response to anything rude, just because he's truly got quite an attitude (so it was easy to recognize him after that long). While I'd love to come back for the food and convenience, I would never risk having him to serve me again and then have to pay money for the experience. The rest of the staff were lovely and had no issue when I asked the same question.

We ate there for the first time today and it was just great! We made a reservation at 7 p.m. and when we got there 30 minutes early we still got a table. The waiter, David (?) was super friendly and nice. We had a total of 7 dishes - 2 starters, 4x main course, 1x dessert and the portions were super good for the price. I had previously seen some pedestrians who said it was too expensive, but I think the price-performance ratio is really good! Definitely recommended. The only drawback is that the tables are very close together, so you don't have much privacy to have a more private conversation. Otherwise everything was super tasty and definitely recommended ❤️

Six of us had dinner today and I found the food to be mediocre. The appetizer platter for 6 people was particularly disappointing, most of which consisted of edamame beans. There were even 6 bowls full of them. Getting mostly beans for 54 euros is really disgraceful. The teriyaki sauce of the main courses only tasted of salt. The Bún Cá soup was huge, but not tasty. And last but not least - the young waitress who served us was not friendly. The only plus point is the central location and nice ambience. For this price range you can find significantly better addresses in Trier and the surrounding area. That was my first and last visit.

The KAZUMI Restaurant in Trier is really worth a visit - we have been there twice now and were impressed with the culinary delights each time! The dishes are not only excellent in terms of taste, but also visually very appealing. Every detail on the plate shows that a lot of love and skill is worked here. However, there are a few things you should keep in mind: Since the restaurant is usually at full capacity, booking in advance is essential. Despite reservations, we had to wait around 10 minutes for our table each time, which was probably due to the high number of people. Another point is the strict closing time at 10 p.m. - from this point onwards there are no drinks or food. There is a final round at around 9:45 p.m., but after that it's over. So it's best to come on time :) Overall, a great restaurant with excellent food that definitely deserves a place on the list of the best addresses in Trier!

A completely unexpected world suddenly opens up on the first floor. Very good starters, quite busy and fully booked during the week.

Extremely disappointing restaurant. The starters were lukewarm frozen gyoza. (The green version that I know from my local Asian supermarket) The Japanese curry as the main course was okay, but I wasn't impressed either. And unfortunately, all the other guests at my table had similarly underwhelming dishes. The waitresses were friendly, but also slow and often stared at their cell phones instead of taking orders. A disgrace for these prices.

The restaurant was very nice to look at from the inside. The dishes are not only very beautiful in terms of appearance, but also outstanding in terms of taste. The service was great, as we were able to spontaneously take another person with us, which is why the whole thing was once again a guarantee of flexibility and you also get a high-quality and high-quality portion for the money you pay.

The location is nice and the furnishings are very attractive. The food is okay, price/performance ratio is mediocre to poor. I ordered a bowl (just under EUR 20), it came with about a tablespoon of rice and although I divided it sparingly, it was far too little. If asked, I could have ordered another portion of rice of this size for EUR 3.50. I thought I wasn't hearing properly. Given the prices and the question of a side dish as the cheapest ingredient, everything was said for me at that point. My companion could only be amazed. We actually wanted to stay longer and eat dessert, but the visit was cut short early and we went to other locations where we didn't feel ripped off.
