I was incredibly fortunate to be led by a local friend to this truly authentic German restaurant. For someone from Taiwan like myself, finding a place like this on my own would be a lifelong dream – it's like a hidden gem straight out of a movie, understated yet captivating, reserved only for those who know the city intimately. The restaurant itself is housed in a historic building, and stepping inside immediately evokes a strong sense of history and a warm atmosphere. The overall space is charming, with a romantic yet serene ambiance that makes you want to slow down and savor every moment. This time, I ordered the Rosted Beef. The thoughtful staff, noticing I was a foreigner, specifically reminded me that it was a cold dish, a small but incredibly thoughtful touch. The food itself was delicious – the beef was tender yet had a perfect chewiness, with a naturally sweet juice; the accompanying local sauce was fresh and rich, with a hint of herbal notes that blended perfectly with the beef, making the overall flavor even more captivating. This is a restaurant truly worth a special trip, not just for the food, but also for a deep immersion in German life and culture. I wholeheartedly recommend this to every traveler who wants to experience the "authentic taste of Germany".

A restaurant steeped in tradition and history. What struck me immediately upon entering was the lovely ambiance and the pleasant interior, but you can also enjoy sitting outside. I particularly enjoyed the green sauce—which isn't always on the menu, though—especially with potatoes and egg! The selection of vegetarian dishes is definitely limited, but the vegetarian dishes they do have are very tasty! It's a good idea to make a reservation if you're going with more than three people.

Last night, we spontaneously went to eat at "Ross" with a group of friends. We were pleasantly surprised by the more than attentive service, something we sorely missed last winter. Apparently, there was a change in staff, and the inattentive staff, who were annoyed by every guest, were replaced by very service- and customer-oriented employees. At short notice, two tables were arranged for us in the courtyard, so that the seven of us could sit comfortably. The two waitresses regularly asked if we wanted to order anything else and whether we were satisfied with the food, which was very good. Please keep up the good work, dear "Ross." We felt very comfortable and would love to come back!

Traditional restaurant in the middle of the town center of Wiesbaden-Naurod. Somehow time has stood still there, but that's exactly what gives it its special charm. Very nice and always attentive service who knows their regular guests, but also warmly welcomes every new guest. Home-style cooking, lots of food to take away, beautiful courtyard 👍

Went on a date with Hubs this evening. The food was delicious, not a big Spargel fan, but I promised to try it, and I was not disappointed. Also had some Reisling from Eltviller, which is not too bad. 🥰

Very nice, home-style restaurant. Eat like your mother or grandma would :-) The decor is rustic, but it absolutely suits the White Horse! There is apple wine made by the owner! The lunch specials (fried fish on Fridays are highly recommended) are also great. Update 2025 - Unfortunately, it must now be said that the service has deteriorated significantly. The restaurant is "full" and you are asked to pay slowly around 8:30 p.m. because you want to close. On days when everyone thought - "hey there must be a restaurant open..." ... White Ross - too :-( It's a shame - the food and drinks are still top - no question about it! We have to work hard again to have and keep guests!

There were three of us and the restaurant was full. So you have to wait a little too long for the food, but otherwise everything was okay, the food was okay too. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

We were there for Christmas dinner with the family this evening. The venison goulash with dumplings and red cabbage was excellent. Have you changed anything in the kitchen? It was so delicious.

I haven't been there for 10 years. Now with different owners. But one thing hasn't changed in all these years: you have to wait forever for food. Like in Hubert Müller's time. At least the atmosphere is still as it was back then

The food was edible, but not so good that I would go back for the food. The soup was too salty, the apple strudel appeared to have been thawed and was covered in a completely inappropriate chocolate sauce. The main course was actually satisfactory. The waiters were strange to say the least.

Im Vergleich zu früher deutlich nachgelassen. Bis ca 2020 war das Essen 1a, es gab zu Weihnachten die beste Gänsekeulen im Rhein Main Gebiet. Das Rotkraut hat geschmeckt wie Weinachten, war super gewürzt. Von heute auf morgen war es damit vorbei. Trauere immer noch der alten Gans nach. Warum das auf einmal so ist, kann ich mir nicht erklären ( neuer Koch, neues Rezept?) . Keine Ahnung. Auch ist das essen nicht mehr so gut gewürzt wie früher. Heute ist es viel stärker gewürzt und voller Salz, einige werden es mögen, ich finde immer, salzen kann ich es auch später selbst.

Unfortunately there is no good Hessian cuisine anymore. The hand cheese was too young and the salad with grilled fish was too small in portion (plus three tiny slices of baguette). Too bad 😔

Also Geiz ist schon lange nicht geil…waren sehr enttäuscht, werden nicht mehr kommen bzw nur zum Bier trinken. Waren am Wochenende mal nach langer Zeit wieder da… Das essen war schon seit langem nicht unser Favorit, Geschmacklich nichts besonderes die Schnitzel ist fettig, nicht gewürzt, Pommes ok-aber was kann man da schon falsch machen, der Feldsalat war voller Sand und triefte vor Salat Fertiger sauce, den Salat zum Schnitzel gibt es nicht-alles zu teuer geworden. Das sind Fertig Produkte…einfach nicht in Ordnung. Eine Preiserhöhung gab es bereits letztes Jahr und nun kein am Salat zur Schnitzel? Preis ist gleich geblieben??? dann sollte sich nicht nur der Preis erhöhen sondern auch die Qualität u.a. Ist es auch nicht in Ordnung das Stammgäste stets eine größere Portion bekommen bzw. wenn man den Koch kennt, dann ist die Portion extrem größer und bekommt sein essen viel schneller, das geht gar nicht … Die Speisen sind lieblose angerichtet, hat etwas von Kantine-ein weißer billig Teller.. Einfach im gesamten alles Billig und lieblos hergerichtet… von gutbürgerlichen hat diese Gaststätte leider nichts … …jeder Gast kann in die Küche schauen, Kochkittel oder Schürze brauch man nicht, wenn es keine Küche wäre, denkt man ist am Sportplatz…oder wurde auch an der Bekleidung gespart… Schade aber dafür ist jeder cent zu viel… Schlechte Rezessionen werden nicht zugelassen dh der Inhaber kauft positive Rezessionen von google

Mit der Familie waren wir mal wieder im Roß und alle waren sehr zufrieden. Schnitzel, Fisch und insbesondere das Hacksteak (!) waren super, teilweise wurde mitgenommen. Service sehr freundlich, Wartezeiten kurz. Ja, die Zeiten ändern sich und es steht nicht mehr Familie Müller dahinter aber für Naurod ist es doch toll, dass es junge Leute gibt, die ein historisches Dorfgasthaus weiterführen. Mit diesem Anspruch sollte man auch hierher kommen, d.h. man bekommt ein vernünftiges Essen zu vernünftigen Preisen.

OMG !!!! Hidden Gem in Taunus area ... Great authentic German food 👌with great taste..The menu had very limited vegetarian options though ... The meat lovers would definitely come back . Loved the atmosphere, too.

Habe ganze Gans bestellt, die ich selbst am Tisch tranchieren wollte. Es wurde alles gemacht wie bestellt, die Gans war perfekt, die Beilagen sehr gut, besonders die Klöße. Die Einrichtung des alten Gasthaus ist urgemütlich

Sehr ursprüngliche Gastronomie in sehr urigem Ambiente. Meiner Meinung nach immer wieder empfehlenswerte. Kein Schnickschnack, alles handfest und geschmacklich gut abgestimmt.

Wir waren zum Genurtstagsessen dort und wurden in ein kühles Hinterzimmer platziert. Empfang sehr unfreundlich und das Essen auf dem Teller, vor lauter Rotkraut sah man die winzige Gänsebrust kaum. Für den Preis von fast 30€ nicht akzeptabel. Auch beim Hirschgulasch, der ohne Würze ankam, war der Teller übersäht mit Rotkraut. Sehr unappetitlich anzusehen. Einmal und nie wieder. Früher war es besser.

Die Gaststätte "Zum weißen Ross" aus dem 17. Jahrhundert ist im Ortskern von Wiesbaden-Naurod gegenüber der Evangelischen Kirche - ein altes Fachwerkhaus drinnen sehr gemütlich, dunkles Holz, bronzefarbene Lampen, ein grüner Kachelofen, fantasievoll dekoriert und alte Bilder von Naurod an den Wänden. Deutsche Küche: u.a. Handkäs', Tartar, Roastbeef, Zwiebelrostbraten, Hacksteak, Käsespätzle, auch viele Kindergerichte, Desserts, auch mal tolles Thai Gemüsecurry mit Ingwer und Kokosmilch, Basmatireis - alles zu moderaten Preisen. Getränke: Äppelwoi und im Herbst Most vom Geschäftsführer und Bierstadter Kelterer Rainer Emmel; vier verschiedene Sorten Bier; Weiß-, Rose- und Rotwein. Schlachtfest, Schnitzeltag, freitags Backfisch; alle Gerichte auch zum Abholen für Zuhause. Man trifft auf viele Einheimische und Alt-Nauerder. Die Toiletten sind wie es früher war im Hof. Tradition pur. Einfach nur Spitze! Note: Eins mit Sternchen!

Das Essen an sich ist sehr gut. Allerdings muss man unglaublich lange auf das Essen warten und bis die Rechnung kommt dauert ewig.

Die Essensauswahl unterscheidet sich ein wenig von anderen. Geschmacklich war das Tatar lecker. Auch die anderen Speisen waren gut. Der Service ließ leider einige Wünsche offen. Es hieß das eine Bedienung ausgefallen wäre und viel Betrieb wäre. Wir werden das auf jeden Fall noch mal testen. Das Ambiente (außen) war normal, nichts Außergewöhnliches.

OK, aber nichts besonderes. Ich gehe eigentlich in Restaurants, um etwas zu essen, was ich zu Hause so nicht hinbekomme oder was mit daheim zu aufwändig wäre. Hier wird man satt. Fertig. Schade, aber da könnte man viel mehr draus machen.

Gut ... bürgerlich ... typisches Äppelwoi Lokal (es gibt auch andere Getränke) in dieser Gegend. Freundliche Bedienung, einheimische Gäste, der Stammtisch im Ort. Gutes Essen gibt es auch.

Kleine aber feine Speisekarte. Ich hatte ein Champignonschitzel mit Spätzle und Salat. Das Schnitzel war auf jeden fall frisch geklopft. Das Essen war sehr gut und die Bedienungen sind super. Ich werde auf alle Fälle noch mal hier her kommen.

Selten so ein variables Angebot auf einer Speisekarte vorgefunden. Modernste Küche im einen traditionellen Ambiente.

Das Champignonrahmschnitzel bleibt mein absoluter Favorit, aber auch die Gans wird hier super lecker zubereitet. Die Portionen sind in der Regel so groß, dass ich etwas mit nach Hause nehmen muss :)

Ein schönes, altes Lokal, mit freundlicher Bedienung und leckerem Essen und gutem Bier. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Diese Gaststätte war vor Jahren unter Einentümerführung ein Restaurant, wo man einkehrt und sich wohlfühlen konnte. Heute hat sich der Eindruck gewandelt. Man hat den Eindruck, dass der junge Mann am Zapfhahn mal wieder keine Lust hat, Gäste freundlich und rasch zu bedienen. Trotz fast leerem Innenraum, dauerte es eine Ewigkeit bis die Getränke kamen. Eine Kinderärzte gibt es auf Anfrage nicht! Nach der Essen erstellung kamen wirklich kleine Portionen, man merkte auch hier muss gespart werden. Besonders fiel die kleine Portion Spaghetti auf, die nur in Butter geschwenkt 6,90 € kostete. Kleines Rumpsteak mit Beilage immerhin 26,90 €, auch nicht zu verachten! Jetzt wird klar, warum an einem Sonntag ein früher volles Restaurant nur an drei Tischen besetzt war. Wenn die Bedienung Heike da ist, da lächelt wenigstens jemand freundlich. Ändert aber nichts... es gibt auch noch bessere Lokale in der Nähe.
