Zum Siechenbräu in Weimar

Wir waren am 20. Dezember zum Abendessen in "Zum Siechenbräu". Wir haben das Restaurant ausgewählt, da wir lokale thüringische Küche probieren wollten. Selbst aus Franken kommend, mögen wir gutbürgerliche Küche mit Fleisch und Fisch. Zunächst das Wichtigste: Das Essen ist sehr lecker! Wir hatten Zwiebelfleisch & Gulasch - wir kochen beide selbst gerne und viel, aber so gut bekommen wir besagte Gerichte nicht zustande. Auch der Preis (pro Gericht 20,80 Euro) ist gut, da man eine sehr große Portion bekommt. Die Gaststätte liegt 10 Minuten zu Fuß zum Herz der Innenstadt. Bei den Lokalen in der Stadtmitte sind die Preise deutlich höher und das Essen sah nicht so lecker aus wie hier. Der Service funktioniert sehr gut, wir haben keine 5 Minuten auf unsere Getränke gewartet und das Essen kam nach etwa 20-25 Minuten - zwischendurch hatte uns der Kellner sogar Bescheid gegeben, dass das Essen "gleich fertig ist". Positiv ist uns ebenfalls aufgefallen, dass er sich zwischendurch erkundigt hat, ob wir noch genug zu trinken haben oder einen anderen Wunsch. Und alles, obwohl das Restaurant gut besucht war, der letzte Freitag Abend vor Weihnachten eben. Zum Ambiente - es ist gutbürgerlich (passend zum Essen), bequeme & bodenständige Einrichtung. Was uns auch aufgefallen ist - bei unserem Besuch waren viele Gäste Stammgäste. Zusammengefasst: Wer leckere gutbürgerliche Küche zu einem guten Preis in einem ruhigen Ambiente ohne lange Wartezeit essen möchte - wir können "Zum Siechnbräu" wärmstens empfehlen. Gaststätten dieser Güte würden wir uns überall in Deutschland wünschen!

Great, great, great. Fantastic cuisine, really cooked. Good middle class with a modern touch. The icing on the cake after a long day in Weimar. A real insider tip. The friendly innkeeper also left us a few ice cubes for the champagne on the way when we said goodbye. Cool.

We were there spontaneously without a reservation. We had excellent beer and excellent food. The staff was extremely friendly. Unfortunately we only had an hour and a half. We would be happy to come back with a reservation.

How nice ! A “typical” inn in the style of a tavern. Crunchy, solid, rustic and not playful. Clean and well-kept guest rooms and wet rooms and, above all, no standing around elements à la “Favorite Place” or “Free Beer Tomorrow” Thank you. House beer brewed in Erfurt served cool and quickly at reasonable prices! It's fun to be thirsty and it's also a good way to drain your wallet... just have a drink while you wait for food. After exactly the time it takes for fried potatoes (perhaps a little more bacon) comes the second member of the group - the chef himself serves. Child-friendly but not too intrusive, we were able to get a smile... and that made our way home to the hotel perfect after an impressive Weimar day. Full and healthy at fair prices, there is well-organized catering here with no hidden costs, concepts or conditions! Thank you and see you soon!

Best Thuringian food (and beer) I have had, it was extremely tasty. The waiter was exceptionally attentive. I fully recommend this place.

Roulade vom Feinsten! Aber auch die Grützwurst war lecker. Wer auf Self Crafted Biere steht, ist hier zusätzlich richtig.

Das Restaurant Zum Siechenbräu bietet eine beeindruckende Mischung aus innovativer Thüringer Hausmannskost und authentischen Brauspezialitäten. Besonders die drei Biersorten, die nach eigenem Rezept des Wirtes gebraut werden, sind ein Highlight – mein Favorit ist das Helle, aber es lohnt sich, alle drei zu probieren. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist hervorragend, und die freundliche sowie kompetente Bedienung durch den Chef rundet das Erlebnis perfekt ab. Ein Besuch, der sich definitiv lohnt!

We have eaten in this lovely restaurant several times. Always enjoy coming here. Everything is just right for me! Starting with the very nice waiter, his demeanor is courteous but not intrusive. The premises are clean as are the toilets, which is also important. You don't have to wait very long for the food. Everything on the menu corresponds to the price-performance ratio and tastes super delicious! Definitely 100% more recommended than good home cooking in Weimar!!!

We are still here- the service is great- wonderfully personal and friendly approach. This looks like one of these family-run places where people care about their customers’ experience. The food is out of this world! I highly recommend coming here and checking it for yourselves.

Unfortunately it's no longer the quaint restaurant it once was. The food is carelessly prepared and completely tasteless. After polite inquiries and spices, the food was “re-prepared”. Since you obviously can't handle criticism, it was completely over-salted!!!! It doesn't work at all and is absolutely not recommended!!! Unfortunately you have to give one star

As always, the food tasted very good, freshly prepared, well seasoned and pleasantly salted. Since I have been going to this restaurant for years and have never had anything to complain about, I cannot understand other people who have to display their negatively misplaced comments. I'm already looking forward to the next culinary meeting at Siechenbräu, with the courteous staff.

Uitstekend! Rustig gelegen, gezellig ingericht; zeer correcte ontvangst, vlotte en zeer vriendelijke bediening. Typische Thüringer gerechten, zeer goede prijs-kwaliteit. Een aanrader!

What everyone else said. The place is atmospheric (ate outside on a balmy summer evening as a very cheeky water fountain played in the square), the food is excellent if a little on the salty side (Mutzbraten 🫠) and the house beer (I had the darker one 💯🉐) is tasty and refreshing. The service is perfect: no fake friendliness but a genuine and efficient welcome and good advice on food and drink. I didn’t have dessert but the house Bierschnaps was divine!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Incredible, I would like to say “old school” but much better. Quaint, nice that something like this still exists. Food, vegetarian, exceptionally good, rösti and kohlrabi schnitzel, perfect.

What better praise is there than when you drink everything empty? The landlord is super nice, the food is incomparable and the beer is amazing. Goethe and Schiller are nice, but have you ever had a beer here?

Everything was great, traditional German cuisine and top service. However, you can only pay in cash, which I found a bit weak overall.

Good traditional dishes and authentic setting

Most restaurants in this part of Germany that serve local dishes use too much salt in them. Not this place. Here they serve great tasting dishes and, not the smallest accomplishment, they have the best hefe weizen beer i’ve ever tasted: Siechn Weimarer. Go there, try it and you will be convinced. To make it even easier. This place is just one block away from the massive parking of the Weimar Atrium.

A traditional restaurant with classic Central German cuisine. The food is very good and freshly prepared. Everyone will find what they are looking for on the small but well-selected menu, vegetarians are also catered for. For beer lovers, there is a regional specialty that can only be purchased in this restaurant and is brewed personally by the landlord.

A very original and rustic guest house, we felt very comfortable. Here the boss serves himself and we chatted a bit and got a lot of information about brewing beer. Of course we also drank the delicious Siechenbräu and it really tasted very good. Pork jellied meat from the “trusted butcher” was also really good! The food we ordered came quite quickly, it was very good and very nicely prepared. The home-made beer brandy was also a success. Thank you for the lovely evening, we are happy to recommend this inn.

I chose Siechenbräu for our stopover in Weimar on our trip - certainly because of the beer, but primarily because both the children and my wife and I would find something suitable to eat here. We were still (very positively) surprised! The atmosphere, the beer, the food - everything was great. Really highly recommended, even if you're not a beer lover. We will definitely go here again when we come to Weimar.

The food and beer were first rate but what stands out is the service extended to two weary foreigners. I believe it was the owner or manager who took care of us. He and his place are outstanding.

They put a lot of effort into fulfilling food requests. Whether without peas or a salad instead of peas or fried potatoes instead of buttered potatoes, the implementation goes smoothly. Besides, it tastes very good.

Wie waren zum Essen hier und waren rundum begeistert. Das Essen und das hauseigene Bier waren ausgesprochen lecker. Wer gut bürgerliches deftiges Essen mag, ist hier bestens aufgehoben, das muss wirklich gekonnt sein. Auch die vegetarische Karte und die Kinderkarte sind abwechslungsreich. Das Ambiente ist urig und authentisch und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist hervorragend, die Portionen sind groß und extrem lecker. Der Wirt war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Zu Besuch in Weimar auf der Suche nach einem guten Essen eine absolute Empfehlung von mir (uns). Deftige Küche zu guten Preisen. Sehr übersichtlich und kurz gehaltene Speisekarte mit den, wie ich finde, leckersten Angebot das ich seit langem gegessen habe. Gut Ding will Weile haben und darum ist auch eine Vorspeise zu empfehlen, auch wenn die Hauptspeise sehr üppig ausfällt. Von uns eine volle Sternebewertung und klare Empfehlung für hungrige Mäuler, die in uriger Umgebung deftig essen möchten.

Endlich mal wieder ein Deutsches Gasthaus, wie man es von früher kennt: gemütlich, urig, dunkle Holzvertäfelung, deftiges Essen, leckeres Bier aus der Kleinbrauerei. Lange nicht mehr so gemütlich gesessen und gleichzeitig gut gegessen - absolute Empfehlung.

Schöne rustikale Gaststätte mit traditionellem Essen. Wir waren auf einem Kurztrip in Weimar und sind spontan dort eingekehrt. Die Gerichte die wir mit 7 Personen zu uns genommen haben waren alle geschmacklich echt Spitzenklasse. Wenn wir nochmal in Weimar einkehren ist diese Gaststätte für uns erste Wahl. Eine sehr gute bodenständige und authentische Küche erwartet dich im Siechenbräu. Sogar selbst gebrautes Bier, welches wirklich gut schmeckt, kannst du zum Essen genießen. Absolut empfehlenswert. Es ist günstig, an beliebten Tagen, einen Tisch zu reservieren.
