We spontaneously stopped there for lunch on Sunday afternoon after our walk around the lake. We chose the pumpkin seed noodles. Our idea of ​​what to expect was a bit different, but it tasted good. It was ribbon noodles with pumpkin, pumpkin seeds, and probably ginger.

Great location on the lake with a fantastic view. The restaurant seems firmly in Ukrainian hands. The food was mediocre in terms of freshness and flavor. The fish fillet, the daily special, was deep-fried, like it's from the North Sea. It would have been better to have it natural and grilled rather than freshly caught. Lots of oil and herb butter on the breaded fish. Why? The chanterelle mushrooms with dumplings were also completely salt-free. I can only recommend the view of the lake with drinks. Please eat elsewhere. 🤷‍♂️ Sorry. The waiter was nice, the female waitress was completely grumpy; she would probably be better off in the laundry room, away from any contact with guests.

We stumbled upon this place by chance. We were desperate to eat trout, and Google led us there. The weather was also on our side. We sat on the terrace right next to the very clear lake. The food (trout and char) was excellent. Upon request, they also served a trout fillet. The service was very attentive and friendly. We felt very comfortable and would gladly return.

As a Reichenhall resident, I often walk my dog along Zwergelweg to Thumsee. I keep giving the Seewirt a chance because the location is, of course, exceptional. Unfortunately, the service has become a disaster these days, and the quality of the food seems to depend on the chef's mood: I've experienced everything from subpar to truly excellent. Today I wanted to give it another chance and sat down on the terrace by the water. It was moderately busy, but there were about 20 people sitting on the terrace. After waiting 10 minutes and several attempts to get the waiter's attention, a distinctly listless waiter came to my table and looked at me questioningly without a word. I took the initiative and asked for the menu, which arrived promptly. After another 10 minutes, a waitress came and told me to go inside, as they didn't serve anyone outside on the terrace. I politely declined, as I didn't want to sit in the large, noisy interior in this beautiful weather, so I left. For me, the Seewirt issue is now finally over for the time being.

Always a highlight! We've been here several times and have always been very satisfied. I've had cheese spaetzle, fish, spinach dumplings, goulash, and this time the vegan Seeburger, and it was always delicious. The price/performance ratio is very good, and the view is unique and priceless. The Bavarian beer completes the experience.

The worst iced coffee I've ever had in my life.

It's a fantastic restaurant. You can sit inside or outside, right by the water. We didn't have a reservation. Our order was taken very quickly, and both the drinks and food arrived within five minutes. The portions are very large and delicious. And the prices are more than fair. The servers were all super friendly.

He even took care of the entire organization of the wedding cake for me in a straightforward manner. I had complete trust in him, and the wedding turned out fantastic thanks to this family-run business. I would like to express my sincere thanks to him and his team; everyone gave their best to make our day wonderful. The food was incredible! I can't complain about anything. An absolutely dreamy place! The Seewirt am Thumsee impresses in every way: very friendly service, delicious food in generous portions, and beautifully presented. The location directly on the lake is simply unbeatable – perfect for enjoying and relaxing. What's especially great: There are loungers for rent and even a private dock with two loungers in the very best position by the water. Everything really fits perfectly here – we'd love to come back!

The food on the menu isn't cheap, but the quantity and quality are definitely worth the price. The location is unbeatably beautiful. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, and everything is clean. We'd love to come back, or rather, more often. I had a real Wiener Schnitzel for around €26 (veal), and my wife had a Thumseeburger for around €22. See for yourself.

I had a brother who was assured it was medium cooked, but was then sent back to the kitchen and served it again after four minutes because the chef was too stubborn to make it from scratch. Absolutely unprofessional, can only be done elsewhere.

Very nice welcome and very tasty food

While hiking around Lake Thumsee, we stopped for lunch today on a Tuesday in beautiful weather. The ambiance is beautiful, and the view of the lake and the mountains is, of course, unique. The servers were attentive, and our order was placed promptly. After a surprisingly short time (about 10-15 minutes after ordering), the food arrived. But we were even more surprised by the quality and taste of the food. The burger was terrific, and the salad with chicken breast strips and the roast pork were also very tasty. A delicious Kaiserschmarrn (sweet pancake) rounded off the visit perfectly. We highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely return if we have time during our vacation.

The best food after 4 days in the Bavarian Alps

I ordered a strawberry ice cream sundae with whipped cream: whipped cream from a spray can, strawberry puree instead of fresh, ripe fruit, and cheap vanilla ice cream—just sweet, no flavor. I returned it. The view was very nice, but you should get your ice cream somewhere else.

When you're a foreigner as a local :( Daily special - ordered zander with asparagus from a waitress, got schnitzel. The waiter didn't understand anything. I told the lady the same thing when paying... the same thing - she didn't understand a word. I probably also paid for zander, but there was no receipt. It still tasted good, although the asparagus was still a bit raw :) It was also very quick. But in the future, I'll probably have to get into the habit of checking beforehand whether German is still spoken or understood in certain places I enter. It's really starting to get tiring.

Die Bedienung hatte keinen Plan nach der Essenbestellung dauerte es eine Stunde am Nachbartisch wurde in kürze das Essen serviert hatten aber das selbe bestellt??? nach einer weiteren viertel Stunde haben wir dann hungrig die Getränke bezahlt und sind gegangen schließlich war unser Parkzeit fast abgelaufen. Es ist nicht weiter zu empfehlen.

As someone who works in the hospitality industry myself, I'm probably more critical than other guests. The young Eastern European lady who served me yesterday immediately conveyed a sense of pure lack of enthusiasm for her job. She placed the menu on the table without a greeting and immediately walked away. She cleared the empty dishes without asking if I enjoyed them, and didn't inquire if I wanted dessert or coffee. In our industry, we thrive on extra orders. When I paid, because I didn't leave a tip due to the lack of service, the remaining change was poured out in 10-cent pieces in front of me. (An old waiter trick to punish the guest.) You can experience how service works one restaurant down, where I then had my coffee and dessert. I believe that you should not only rely on your prominent location, but also be a good host to your customers.

Unfortunately, the service isn't very courteous. You're not allowed to change tables after ordering your drink, as this would disrupt the service system. After suggesting that we pay for our drinks first and then change tables, we were rudely told to leave. They were either unwilling to compromise or simply slow on the uptake. It's a shame, really, considering the restaurant's great location. 😕

We found a very good and well-kept restaurant, on whose terrace you can sit directly on the beautiful Thumsee. There we were served very friendly and attentive and were able to enjoy the delicious food in a beautiful atmosphere. What more could you want? We will definitely come back.
