The atmosphere on the market square is beautiful. But the service is no longer good. We had reserved a table, but our reservation seems to have been forgotten. We were lucky because a table just became available. Happiness is on a Friday evening in summer! I find it completely excessive to charge €13.90 for 150g of cooked cheese (unfortunately very runny, the consistency needs to be firmer) with 5g of butter, 3 slices of bread and onions carelessly chopped into pieces. By the way, this dish is still listed online as €10.90...

Cooked cheese was very good, service unfortunately incredibly slow and unsympathetic. There was no table available and we were not offered to wait for a free table, even though it had been clarified over the phone that reservations could not be made. The service staff never came to the table on their own, and once another guest even had to show the service staff that we wanted something. The food came quickly and was delicious, drinks took an inhumanely long time, even though there wasn't much going on at a late hour. If a drink was requested, a new one could never be ordered because the service staff left in the same second. All in all, just incredibly long waiting times and snappy answers. Unfortunately, vegetarian food options are also very limited (apart from cooked cheese).

Ordered their cheese schnitzel, cordon bleu, and sausage with sauerkraut. Served with just the right temperature. Serving sizes are big and the potatoes on the side are very tasty. Took the seats outside in front of the fountain, right at the very heart of marktplatz. My kids ate well while enjoying the happy crowd. This is the best first dinner of our summer trip 2024. 😎

I ate a cooked cheese schnitzel there once a month, which I will stop doing; on my last visit the schnitzel was as small as a doll's house. Of course, I didn't get even a little bit full of it, the price stayed the same. When I asked, I was told that it was always the same weight, which was only stupid if you had the comparison from before. Everyone has to save money, but I find it a disgrace to shrink the schnitzel to the size of a doll so that it can hardly be found under the blob of head cheese (it was no longer in the jar like before)!

It was another great evening with dear friends, great food and lots to drink.

We reserved a table for 5 people (3 adults, 2 children) on a Wednesday evening in June 2024 at 7 p.m. Food was great, as always. Cooked cheese, hand cheese and cooked cheese schnitzel plus various drinks. The service was also tried hard. However, we had to wait about 1.15 hours for the food. Only a warm meal, otherwise cold dishes. 🤷🏻‍♂️ It's borderline with children. Tip: A short note would have been appropriate. But we will come back.

Beautiful old restaurant with a special flair. Very nice service and the food was great. Always a pleasure. Great for vegetarians too... the lentil burger is brilliant.

It's a shame you can never get anyone on the phone. Consequence: you can't make a reservation, you go eat somewhere else. The opening times on Google are wrong - you'll find yourself in front of a closed door if you want to try your luck. It's a shame, but maybe it will work again at some point. The food is delicious!

When you sit on the terrace, you sit directly in front of Grandma Magret, with whom there is a collaboration. The service (from Grandma Magret) was good, the food was delicious. Although you are advised that the food does not necessarily arrive at the same time if you order from the different menus, the time delay was quite large.

We had a very fun, nice and delicious evening there. The food was great. It is a typical Hessian pub, to put it that way, with different hand cheese variants and Hessian food. The service was great and the seating was very comfortable. We had a great evening!

Nice restaurant, but the food could be better and personally I always don't think it's okay, if you have to order extra fries and salad with a main course, in my opinion it's a disguised additional expense

Wonderful in the heart of Heppenheim

Best and friendliest service ever. Ate very well. The restaurant has a bit of a nostalgic feel to it even though it is a modern concept. People like to sit and chat after dinner. It is loud and alive. A bit like the old days in the pub❤️.

Wir waren dort heute Essen. Meinem Verlobten ist wegen des viel zu trockenen, harten Brotes ein Stück seiner Frontzähne abgebrochen! Das ist unmöglich! keinesfalls da hin gehen, außer man möchte noch alle Zähne verlieren!

Unsere Bedienung war sehr nett. Essen hat ewig gedauert, die Gerichte kamen vereinzelt und mit Abstand (das Essen für die Kinder kam als letztes). Schnitzel war zäh. Grüne Sauce war sehr lecker, ebenso der Kochkäs.

Die Gerichte auf den handgeschriebenen Tafeln gibt es mittags nicht, nur abends. Die Mittagskarte ist kurz (kein Problem), aber schlicht langweilig. Ein landläufiger Gutsausschank bietet mehr. Was dann serviert wird, ist wenig, kommt aber auf viel Geschirr. Der Mangel an (geöffneter) naher Konkurrenz macht so etwas wohl möglich.

Immer wieder gerne zum Abendessen dort. Eigentlich ist alles lecker - wir essen am liebsten die Hand- und Kochkäs Variation oder grüne Soße. Im Winter in der gemütlichen Gaststätte, im Sommer auf dem Heppenheimer Marktplatz. 😊

Leider heute Abend nicht so gut wie sonst immer. Der Salatteller war nicht frisch, der würzige Kochkäse war weit entfernt von würzig und die Jazz-Zwiebeln schmeckten nach gar nichts. Die Spaghetti mit Spinat schwammen im Öl und den Spinat musste man suchen. Hoffentlich nur ein Ausrutscher!

Tolle Location zum draußen sitzen. Das heimische Essen ist super lecker. Zu empfehlen ist das Kochkäse Kotelett mit Brot. Preis Leistung stimmt. 👍

Wir kennen den Schwan von früheren Besuchen, haben heute vor dem (dazu gehörenden) Oma Margret bei bestem Wetter gesessen. Klasse ist, dass man aus beiden Speisekarten wählen konnten. Tolle Kochkässchnitzel mit verschiedenen Musiken dazu. Service aus dem Schwan heraus absolute Spitze, von der Oma Margret heraus ist noch Luft nach oben. Trotzdem ganz klare Empfehlung von mir Atmosphäre auf dem Marktplatz einfa

Ich war sehr zufrieden und war sehr überrascht von den leckeren und verschiedenen Musik Varianten (eingelegte Zwiebeln) und der Burger hat es dann perfekt gemacht so das wir regelmäßig vorbei kommen und das gerne weiter zu empfehlen.

Das Essen schmeckt super lecker und ist gleichbleibend gut. Des Weiteren ist die Lage des Restaurant Wunder schön. Das Personal ist sehr höflich und lustig - es ist kein Restaurant, um seif essen zu gehen, sondern um gemeinsam zu lachen und einen entspannten Abend zu genießen

Nicht zum ersten Mal und nicht zum letzten Mal! Sehr gute bodenständige regionale Küche, das Brot ist immer wieder der Hammer. Nicht zu vergessen der erstklassige Service und die gutgelaunte Servicekraft, die eindeutig Freude an Ihrem Beruf hat sowie das Ambiente.

Wir waren mit 10 Radlern unterwegs und der gute Eindruck, den ich bereits auf der Vortour gewonnen hatte, sollte an diesem Sonntag noch übertroffen werden. Sehr aufmerksames, freundliches Personal. Ausgesprochen leckere Gerichte, selbst die hessischen Spezialitäten waren richtig klasse und die gesamte Truppe wollte gar nicht mehr weg. Wir hielten uns viel länger an diesem schönen Ort auf als geplant. Wir hatten unsere Plätze außen, aber auch der Innenbereich ist mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail ausgestattet und bietet dem Auge immer wieder neue Details um sich 'satt zu sehen'! Selbst Händewaschen ist ein Erlebnis und sei jedem empfohlen. Dort liegen Gästehandtücher aus Stoff!!!!! Wo sonst findet denn man noch so etwas ?! Ein rundum gelungener Aufenthalt, den wir gerne verlängert hätten, wenn da nicht die Rückfahrt nach Groß-Gerau noch anstand. Vielen Dank für den wunderbaren Aufenthalt.
