Bistro Filou Stadtmauerkeller in Heppenheim (Bergstraße)

We had breakfast, unfortunately the price-performance ratio wasn't great. A few slices of cheese and two small glasses of peppers, carrots and cucumber and all that for over €17 is a lot

I would also have liked to give the service 5 stars. But because this wasn't addressed when I answered the question: "Did you like it, unfortunately there are only 4 stars in some places. Otherwise the service was very friendly. I had the rump steak with onions and fried potatoes. Unfortunately the fried potatoes and onions were drowned in oil. I couldn't eat them. Fried potatoes are also available in delicious and crispy versions but unfortunately not here, see photo. The meat was ok but nothing special for 27.90 euros. Conclusion: The food is more important to me than the service and the ambience, so this was the first and last time for me.

Was expecting sautéed veggies, but it came raw and not that fresh, everything else was good.

The “Bistro Filou” seems more like a restaurant to me, as the selection, quality and prices of the dishes are, in my opinion, far removed from a bistro. In addition, the dishes are professionally prepared and it is even possible to grill yourself on the hot stone, which I personally think is great. The service was always attentive and the atmosphere seemed inviting to me.

Very good recommendation for Heppenheim. Very cozy restaurant with a feel-good factor. Service was always very good. The food tasted good, with some potential for improvement. I had a roast goose for €35 and only got one leg. Far too expensive for that. We had cooked cheese and hand cheese as starters. It was great, but also a bit too expensive for the quantity. Overall, a solid restaurant, priced a bit too expensive, but probably one of the best restaurants in Heppenheim.

We had seats in the very tastefully furnished, cozy vaulted cellar. Very attentive service staff, the food was excellent, lots of choice.

Had breakfast there with the family for the second time. The service was very friendly both times, the food came quickly and was good. The ambience is really nice. We found it to be a really great atmosphere, especially in the basement. All in all, highly recommended. However, you should also make a reservation.

Very cool atmosphere if you get seated in the basement. I had the mushroom soup, wife had the pumpkin soup and they were both delicious. Would visit again!

Nice service, nice ambience, inside and outside. The three of us had breakfast yesterday and were shocked at what was served for the money. Very, very manageable. Guys, you charge 4.00 euros for a small cup of tea. We'd rather look for a new location for breakfast. What a shame!!

Great restaurant with outdoor seating right on the historic market square. There is something delicious for everyone on the exquisite menu 😋.

The price is rather upscale, so we wished our rump steaks hadn't been so tough. Unfortunately the staff didn't really care. 2 beers, 2x fried potatoes and 2 tough rump steaks (chewy even though actually fried medium to perfection, how that is possible remains a mystery), without side salads for ~70€. Others can do it better and sometimes cheaper. Too bad!

Ristorante dalla location stupenda, sulla piazzetta centrale della Città vecchia di Heppenheim...sembra costantemente di fare un salto nel tempo! Bel menù con piatti tipici, gustosi, buona scelta di birre, personale gentile, locale pulito, prezzi giusti. Ci tornerei!

Super great atmosphere, outside the door, in the back of the garden and inside (I haven't been able to test the cellar yet). The food is delicious, the selection is good, there is something for everyone.

Wir waren anlässlich der Heppenheimer Festspiele vorher dort essen. Wir saßen bei herrlichem Wetter auf dem Marktplatz mit Blick auf die schönen Häuser rundherum. Das Essen hat uns beiden sehr gut geschmeckt. Service war sehr freundlich. Wenn wir mal wieder nach Heppenheim kommen kehren wir wieder dort ein.

A real gem! We were completely impressed by the Filou restaurant with its wonderful ambience in the garden. The atmosphere is very pleasant and inviting, ideal for a relaxing evening. The food was excellent - every course was well prepared and tasted great. I would particularly like to highlight the friendly and attentive service, which made the evening perfect. A place we will definitely recommend and visit again soon!

We went to Filou for breakfast on a Sunday morning. The atmosphere on the market square in Heppenheim is very nice, especially on a summer day when the sun begins to peek through the cloud cover in the morning and send out the first warm rays. We sat outside, although the inside and the Tuscan garden also looked very nice. The waitresses were all very friendly and my requests for changes to the order were heard and implemented (even though I thought it wouldn't be possible when I made a request, it was made possible. I thought that was great!). At breakfast itself I was a bit disappointed with the quality of the rolls. These were probably in the oven a little too long, or at least they were a bit too hard and dry (for me). Since it was the base for all the toppings (had the cheese plate), it affected the overall quality of the breakfast. Otherwise, the cheese, jam, etc. tasted delicious and we were full :) As we sat for a while, we saw the first lunches being served and I have to say, they looked delicious! Would definitely come again, but then for lunch or dinner. Try it out and let yourself be enchanted by Heppenheim's old town charm.

Great service and food, I recommend it

The inner courtyard is great to stay in even when the temperatures are slightly cooler thanks to the heaters. Very tasty food, a good selection, attractively presented and friendly service. Here you can feel comfortable!

The bistro is located on the beautiful market square in Heppenheim. The food was okay but for the price I was hoping for more from the steak. My partner had a schnitzel, some of which was unfortunately still raw. We passed this on to the service, who brought the meat back to the kitchen for "touch-ups" and then it was done but tasted dry. What a shame! In addition, the service didn't apologize and said at the very end whether it was tasty. This was not appropriate in the situation since we had already complained about the food. So price performance was not optimal.

This is a bistro and it is perfect place to quench thirst and hunger when biking around the area. We also takes our guests to this restaurants when in the area. I had a surprise today when I ordered an Argentinean rumpsteak. I was given a raw meat, 3 types of sauce and salad as a side dish. My husband mentioned to the waitress that the meat is raw. Shen the said I will get a hotplate....I jokingly said, 'Do I get paid for cooking my food?' It turned out to be exciting, delicious and git many attention from other diners. Overall, it was delicious.

A really great atmosphere and very tasty food, there is something for everyone. We like to come here and eat off the hot stone. The service is great and always friendly. The two of us ended the evening (birthday) here on April 24th and were once again surprised at how beautiful it is here. There was only one small thing to complain about, the food came much too quickly and we finished the main course + dessert within 40 minutes. We would be happy to come back and thank you for the lovely evening.

Wir haben unsere Schweizer Freunde ins Filou eingeladen, obwohl wir es nicht kannten. Da Tripadvisor es gut bewertete. Mit Recht! Wir verbrachten einen schönen Abend im Gewölbe Keller bei sehr gutem Essen und sehr freundlicher Bedienung und angemessenen Preisen. Großeslobe, und wir kommen wieder...:)

It is now the third time within a year that we stop in Heppenheim and eat at Filou. The place certainly does not disappoint. All three times the food has been really good, the service cordial, friendly and welcoming. It is a place where you feel welcome and the loving and friendly atmosphere among the staff rubs off on the guests. Definitely worth recommending.

We have been regular guests for years, celebrating family celebrations such as baptisms and birthdays there, but also the Christmas party with our staff. We appreciate the food, which is always of very good quality, the friendly, fast and uncomplicated service, and the ambience. In winter the vaulted cellar is incredibly cozy, in summer you feel like you're on holiday in the beer garden or on the market square. The staff has been the same for years, which makes Filou doubly likeable as an obviously good employer. We would love to come with all our hearts!

Service passt nicht zu den Preisen. Essen war nur lauwarm. Kellner lässt Tablett mit Getränken fallen. Gast ist nass, Oberteil Hose usw. Keine Entschädigung oder kein Entgegenkommen vom Restaurant. Das geht gar nicht. Kann natürlich passieren aber ein no go dass vom Restaurant da gar nichts kommt...

Besonders gerne speisen wir in der Wintersaison im Keller. Sowohl Service als auch das Essen sind super. Immer wieder gerne.

Leider kein Platz für Feierlichkeiten. Betriebsfeier im Filou mit Essensvorbestellung trotzdem über 1/12 Stunden gewartet . Unhöfliches unaufmerksam es Personal kein bitte oder danke teilweise die Augen verdrehend . Bei der Abrechnung Fehler gemacht ohne ein Entschuldigung . Essen für die Qualität überteuert . Kann jede Kneipe an der Ecke mithalten . Sitzordnung völligst unprofessionell zusammengestellt. Rücken an Rücken gesessen , tolles teamförderndes Essen. Dort gute 800 Euro gelassen kein absacker aufs Haus oder sonstiges. Da ist das Motto der Schein trügt gewaltig. Absolut nicht empfehlenswert.die schlechteste Bedienung die wir je auf einer Betriebsfeier hatten. Einmal und nie wieder .noch nicht mal als Notlösung ‼️‼️

Das Restaurant liegt am Marktplatz inmitten der Altstadt von Heppenheim. Da es sich großer Beliebtheit erfreut, würde ich vor dem Besuch eine Reservierung empfehlen. Im Sommer besteht die Möglichkeit den Außenbereich auf den Marktplatz zu nutzen, mein Favorit ist allerdings der Biergarten hinter dem Restaurant. Der Gastraum an sich ist ansprechend gestaltet. Die Sanitäranlagen sind sauber und ordentlich. Das eigentlich Highlight im Filou ist für mich aber der Gewölbekeller. Hier ist es unheimlich gemütlich und die Einrichtung ist wirklich toll. Da dieser nicht immer geöffnet ist, empfehle ich die Reservierung vorab umso mehr. Der Service ist gut und die Mitarbeiter sowohl freundlich als auch zugewandt. Das Essen ist einen Tick zu teuer, was vermutlich an der tollen Lage des Restaurants liegt, die Qualität geht aber absolut in Ordnung. Auch der selbst gebackene Kuchen ist zu empfehlen. Insgesamt ist das Filou eine echte Bereicherung für Heppenheim und definitiv einen Besuch wert.

Sehr freundlicher Service, schönes, klassisches "Weinkeller Ambiente" und gutes Essen. Im Rahmen unseres Hochzeitsessens wurden auch vegane Gerichte (Dessert) zusammengedtellt, die nicht auf der Karte standen. Gerne wieder und speziell für Fans gutbürgerlicher Küche eine klare Empfehlung.

Wir waren früher sehr gerne hier essen , das Essen ist nach wie vor gut , aber das Personal kann man wirklich vergessen. Abgenervt , unwissend , wissen nicht welches Fleisch welche grammzahl gerade serviert wurde , viel zu warm , extrem stickig , kaum Belüftung.

Besonders der Flammkuchen griechisch ist saftig und reichhaltig belegt, so dass das Essen mit Fingern eher nicht zu empfehlen ist 😍 Bedienungen sind sehr nett und der Marktplatz ist einfach schön.

Super Kochkäs'-Schnitzel und Heppenheimer-Schlemmerpfanne gegessen, tolles Ambiente auf dem Marktplatz. Freundlicher Service, bei unserem nächsten Heppenheim Besuch kommen wir wieder.

Das Schnitzel war sehr lecker,der Odenwälder Kochkäse selbst gekocht und cremig und nicht zu würzig.....der Salat frisch und knackig....die Damen vom Service super nett und zuvorkommend....Ambiente außen und innen toll...empfehlenswert

Essen sehr schmackhaft und ausreichend. Reichhaltiges Getränkeangebot aber teuer. Service bei gut gefülltem Lokal freundlich aber überfordert. Wir haben fast eine Stunde auf das Essen gewartet. Würde aber trotzdem wieder hingehen.

Spontan Frühstück gegessen, war sehr lecker zurecht gemacht. Flotte und freundliche Bedienung - sehr gerne mal wieder 👍

Sehr gemütlich. Mit viel herzblut dekoriert. Es stimmt einfach alles. Service ist top vorallem Giuseppe. Keine lange Wartezeit, obwohl die Hütte brennt. Alle sehr freundlich und das Essen ist top. Würden gerne öfter kommen, aber das Filou ist nicht gerade um die Ecke. Macht weiter so. Ihr seid klasse. Meinen Wunsch einen Gutschein über 100 Euro per Post zu schicken wurde sehr schnell und unkompliziert realisiert. Vielen Dank dafür.

Heerlijk eten, goede service en fijne ambiance. Wij hebben genoten van de handkäse mit musik en de riesling. Maar ook schnitzel kochkäse en het zwijnenvlees waren heerlijk. Wij hebben genoten.

Sehr schöne Location, egal ob im Biergarten, im Lokal innen oder direkt auf dem Marktplatz. Sehr freundliches Personal. Sehr schneller Service.

Habe anstatt Bratkartoffeln Brot zum Schnitzel bestellt. Das Brot wurde zusätzlich berechnet und nicht als Austausch zum Gericht gewertet. Die grauhaarige Servicekraft ist in ihrer Kommunikation leider sehr genervt rübergekommen.

Dieses Lokal kann man nur wärmstens empfehlen! Wir sind seit vielen Jahren Gäste und sind noch nie enttäuscht worden! Das Essen ist sehr gut, die Bedienung ausgezeichnet und das Ambiente einmalig! Vor allem draußen a d Marktplatz ist eine tolle Atmosphäre
