Despite the many negative reviews, we decided to visit this restaurant anyway. We were actually very happy to do so, as this restaurant offers a fantastic view of the Edersee and the dam. We were greeted warmly and treated with friendliness and attention throughout. The restaurant was also busy. The food was delicious and the value for money was not too expensive; it was simply perfectly acceptable given the location. The ambiance is beautiful and modern, which makes it feel inviting.

I was there a few days ago, and the waffles were truly delicious. Highly recommended. :)

The service was very friendly. We each ordered a herring roll for €6 each. For that price, you'd expect the rolls to be at least fresh and not from the day before. They were topped with two slices of cucumber, a bit of mayonnaise, and a piece of herring. The meal was more like 0 points than the one it was given.

My husband and I visited "Seaside am Edersee" for the first time. We were familiar with the previous restaurant, "Zum Hecht," which was definitely showing its age. The view from this restaurant, with its outstanding view of the beautiful lake and the dam, was already the highlight of the restaurant and automatically attracts guests. Unfortunately, "Seaside" failed our test last Thursday. Two purple lamps shine outside all day, which, in our opinion, do not create a good impression. Without this strange, somewhat offensive light, the visual impression from the outside would be much more sophisticated and would further emphasize the beautiful beach atmosphere. There is only one lady available for service, and she is completely overworked. Cappuccino and coffee, nothing special, are served; cake arrives 15 minutes later, only after we asked for it. The cheesecake, presumably Coppenrath & Wiese, wasn't even bad, although it was served hot. Which is absolutely unacceptable for me!! Probably thawed and warmed in the oven. Overall impression: Lovely beach bar, with appropriately pleasant music, a nice atmosphere thanks to the great lake view, a feel-good factor... Service, cake, and coffee are unfortunately not recommended, and prices are unreasonable for what the guests get. Our honest opinion: With a few small changes and suggestions from guests, "Seasid" could become the coolest beach bar on the Edersee. We wish you much success and every success. Hans and Gabi Schulz

A really great shop with super friendly, competent, and courteous staff, and also very dog-friendly. The waffles were exceptionally delicious. The coffee was also excellent.

Children not welcome... We had a quick bite to eat and then left the restaurant. On the way back, my two boys needed to go to the bathroom, so they quickly jumped in. The cleaning lady was totally rude and chased my boys out, saying she was cleaning now and the public restrooms weren't far away. I told the lady that it was very urgent for the little ones and that I would even pay for it, even though we had already been guests earlier. The lady wasn't interested... So...please take your children somewhere else where you are welcome... Children are NOT WELCOME here!!!!

We visited this restaurant for the first time and ordered a sausage with French fries and salad. The view was very nice, and the furniture had a pleasant color scheme. The staff was friendly but seemed a bit inexperienced. The beer was served to us on a tray that wasn't entirely clean. Then came the food. The portion was rather small, and the sausage, unfortunately, was a bit dry. It came with a packet of mustard, a portion of fries, and a salad that was unfortunately not very convincing: some wilted arugula leaves and a cabbage stalk that shouldn't have been served. There were also discrepancies with the cutlery: I was served two forks, while my companion was given a fork and a knife. When the waiter asked if everything was OK while clearing the table, I pointed out these items, as well as the cabbage stalk in the salad. He apologized, but did nothing further. The employee who brought the bill politely asked if she could round up the amount and keep it as a tip, but I declined. Additionally, there were guests with a dog inside, even though there was an outdoor terrace. Personally, I find unleashed dogs inappropriate in a small restaurant with only four tables. Overall, I unfortunately cannot recommend the restaurant.

Nice location, but the staff left something to be desired. At first, no one came for a while (about 15 minutes), then our order was taken (unfortunately, it was wrong, which only became apparent when the wrong thing was brought). It wasn't busy, but the staff were overwhelmed. By the time the wrong food arrived, another 30 minutes had passed. We left without food after finishing our drinks. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this place. 🫤

Not recommended. I've rarely been so hungry after eating something. The portion of fries was incredibly small. The coleslaw was also very small (tasted good). After an extensive boat tour, we returned to the Seaside. The staff was friendly, albeit a little overwhelmed from the start. Tables weren't cleared, but a menu was brought directly to our table, even though we had to order at the window. Food and drinks were then brought – albeit in stages, so that the first of us were almost finished eating before the last one got their hands on anything. Unfortunately, some dishes from the daily menu were no longer available or hadn't been prepared at all – which just made you wonder, "Why?" On the upside, though: the food seems to be prepared in-house. The selection was plentiful, and everyone found something to eat and was satisfied. The location is a dream; the outdoor area feels like a small mishmash of furniture, but it's still inviting to relax.

For a price of €5, at least a portafilter machine would have been appropriate. Especially if you want to present yourself as a sophisticated café or restaurant. The service seemed friendly enough, but disorganized and overwhelmed when serving multiple groups of guests. Orders at neighboring tables were swapped; there was clearly a lack of a clear system for assigning orders. We also had to actively ask for a waiter before our order was even taken. The drinks arrived relatively quickly, but we waited over 30 minutes for the food. The dish (Leberkäsbrötchen with coleslaw) tasted okay, though not outstanding. On the plus side, it arrived warm. Less pleasing was the soggy bottom of the roll due to the coleslaw; a detail that further tarnished the overall impression. A restaurant in such a privileged location deserves a more well-thought-out overall concept and more professional execution. Currently, the operation seems like a trial run—a waste of potential. I hope the team uses the feedback to improve, as the foundations are there.

Very nice restaurant, but overwhelmed with more than three guests. The food was okay, but expensive, and there were some items on the menu that were no longer available, and the prices were also inaccurate. Overall, not that great....

Location: Top, Rest: Flop. The location is really beautiful, with an absolutely fantastic view, and the decor is very cozy. However—and this is actually the most important thing—the rest was a complete disappointment. There were six of us there, and we ordered two fries and four currywurst with fries. No big deal, you'd think—but we did wait 45 minutes for our food, and there were only three other tables occupied, so it wasn't very busy. The staff was very inexperienced and clumsy, which isn't generally a problem, but when everyone on the staff exudes this attitude, it becomes difficult. The food was nicely presented, but not good—everything looked and tasted like ready-made meals and frozen food, and the curry sauce was also a standard instant sauce. The restrooms were absolutely disgusting; one of the restrooms was brown from top to bottom. When I pointed this out to the staff, they simply accepted it but didn't pay any attention. This place relies solely on its walk-in customers, thanks to this great neighborhood and the location itself. If this were not the case, this restaurant would not exist in this form.

A charming boho restaurant with delicious food and a warm welcome! The thoughtful decor immediately makes you feel at home. The restaurant is particularly dog-friendly – ​​our four-legged friend was immediately provided with water, which isn't something you'd expect and we were very pleased. We tried the waffle with ice cream and the bagel with egg, and both were delicious. The quality of the food was excellent and the taste truly impressive. Overall, a highly recommended restaurant for anyone who appreciates a relaxed atmosphere, good food, and dog-friendly service. We'd be happy to come back!

Curry sausage lukewarm and small, fries portion also very small

I visit the Edersee once a year, and this year, Seaside caught my eye. The waffles are truly a dream. Great staff and a beautiful ambiance. The value for money couldn't be better. Whoever left a negative review here is either blind in both eyes or just plain stupid! Highly recommended.

I went there for the first time today with friends and ordered something to eat. We waited at least 10-15 minutes for a drink, and to add to that, it wasn't busy. Maybe 2-3 tables were occupied. The food? Honestly, it's a disgrace. They call a discount sausage for €2, slather it with Hella curry spice ketchup, and then sprinkle some curry powder on top a currywurst, and then charge €8.50 for it. Cheeky as hell!!! Then they ordered fries. It wasn't even written down and they forgot... and then they excused it with a statement that "it's busy." I work in the restaurant industry myself, and that can't be excused with something like that. Matcha latte? More like green, tasteless hot water with foam on top. The first impression as you walk in is nice, the ambiance is well utilized and the decor is really nice. But the food really brings it all down. Never again.

So, €8.50 for a currywurst with fries is actually a normal price, but the portions are so small. There were what felt like five fries on the tray and a small portion of currywurst. So for that price, you'd expect at least a "normal" portion. It's simply a disgrace and I don't recommend it!

Ordering is almost impossible. You have the impression that you have to apologize when you speak to the people at the counter. I went to the counter myself after 30 minutes. Nobody comes outside. Just bad. Never again. Too bad

We were there today and enjoyed delicious waffles with fruit and cream. The coffee is very good. The service was very nice and quick at the table. After a while we were asked if we wanted anything else. It's really nicely furnished and you'll enjoy spending time there.

So first of all on the positive side, it's really nice to sit there, but the food is terrible!!! And the food was almost cold! We had a bratwurst with a bun where the bun was rock hard. A currywurst with fries that was almost cold. And the Seaside cuts the bread is a cheap prepackaged nothing toasted like it says on the menu. The fried eggs were drowned in pepper, you couldn't eat them!!! The most embarrassing thing about the matter is that the boss greeted us very friendly and lured us with the fact that they had a small menu, but regional, and then you get something like that. The Brat/Currywurst is also just a simple, fine boiled sausage (0815). It's all a shame because it's really nice to sit there. The latte macchiato was also only lukewarm. There were only 2 other guests there besides us. I wonder what it's like here when it's full.

The three of us were there yesterday and enjoyed the spring sunshine outside. Luckily one of the few outdoor seats with a view of the lake and in the sun became available. It was wonderful. Currywurst fries were delicious and nicely served with some salad - the portion of fries was perhaps a little too small… The staff was very nice and accommodating. According to information on the Internet, the restaurant was actually closed, but they were still spontaneously open (for longer) due to the weather. It's also very nice inside, with a direct view of the lake. We would like to come back and recommend that visitors walk past the bars in the town center to go over the dam wall to Seaside. It's worth it.

I was here for the second time today and compared to the first time, I was very disappointed!!! I was there at 3:50 p.m. and ordered a latte macchiato from the window outside. I then asked what kind of cake there was. I was told that there was only cheesecake. Since this isn't my taste, I wanted to order a waffle with cherries. I then got the information that the kitchen was already closed. That surprised me a lot considering it was the best time in the afternoon. Then I got a latte macchiato in a paper cup. It doesn't work at all if it's not to go. After 10 minutes the service staff walked past me with 3 plates of bratwurst and fries, how is that possible when the kitchen is supposedly already closed??? In the end, it was the last time, as beautiful as it is there.

We went here at the weekend to enjoy the good weather and beautiful views and were more than happy with the cafe. The excellent coffee and delicious waffles as well as the friendly and fast service are particularly positive. Even some of the earlier negative reviews have been addressed - it is now possible to order and pay for food and drinks directly at the table using your smartphone. A completely successful visit!

You can sit comfortably and with a beautiful view. We felt very comfortable there until we were served the food. We felt insulted. That's not how you treat people. Cheaply purchased finished goods on fancy plates...and not heated properly. The "hot dog" consisted of two cold cheap Viennese in a light-colored bread roll, the bratwurst was also of the cheapest factory variety (even though there are such good butchers in the region!) and the lentil soup most likely came from a can 😞 It's a shame, I expected something different when I saw the restaurant! Too often it seems to be all about profit. As a guest you feel like you're being taken for a ride and let's just say: We realize that we're being served cheap stuff! We don't want to eat that 😮‍💨

Hello, I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. We didn't get a food or drink menu. The coffee came after what felt like an eternity. Unfortunately the milk was missing. A piece of cake still wasn't there after more than twenty minutes. The restaurant wasn't full, at most a quarter full. Tables weren't even cleared away. The boss was unfriendly and I don't think you can treat guests like that. Once and never again

The restaurant was reopened at the end of 2024 - new ambience that is very cozy and high quality, still a great view of the lake and the dam. The food is delicious, the drinks menu is generous and the atmosphere is very nice and cozy. Clear recommendation!

I was there on a weekday afternoon and had a latte macchiato, my companion had cocoa. The ambience is great, the service is attentive and friendly. The view of the lake is great. The cocoa is served in cute, colorful cups, the latte macchiato in ceramic mugs. I liked it a lot. I only saw the drinks menu, unfortunately I don't know what else is on offer. The toilets were spotlessly clean too. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the new team that they get enough guests until the summer. After that it will definitely buzz.

Only electronic menu that is read out to you. Hardly any choice and an invoice that says things that weren't even there. Had, among other things, Ordered an apple spritzer, which wasn't available. Only received one water. But the bill was for an apple spritzer. Had a mini cake but the bill said coleslaw!! I don't have to understand. I liked it there much better before. There was a rustic atmosphere and the food was delicious. Now new owner. Unfortunately not again for me. Too bad. It was a very busy restaurant.

What was once a restaurant called “Großer Hecht” is now a cool bar with a lake view. There are drinks from The Flying Coffee, such as waffles or warm snacks. Bar stools, bar chairs, bar sofas, lounge music and a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. The cappuccino was just right, we would like to try the food later.

The café is currently being renovated and is scheduled to reopen in October. With different types of coffee, a selection of cakes and breakfast. As far as I know so far. I'm looking forward to it and hope everything works out.

After a long drive, me and my family were looking forward to a warm and delicious meal, unfortunately we went to the wrong restaurant. After enjoying the beautiful view of Lake Edersee, I decided to buy myself and my family food, much to our regret Despite fewer customers, we were only asked to order after a long wait. When we placed our order, we were greeted listlessly by the staff and were skillfully ignored when we asked about the food and then, after repeated questions, we were insulted stupidly and cheekily. The question remains open to this day. Our food was cold and tasted rancid. When we asked the staff about it, we got the same reaction…….

REPOSTED!!! A little note to the boss: We passed the Hecht on a Sunday around 10:15 am - hoping to get a little refreshment there. After all, there were people smoking and drinking sitting in front of the open shop. When we got within 5 meters, they yelled at us: "We're still closed!!!" Another comment: "Should we open here at 8?!" Or: “We can spend the night here then...!” FYI - We hadn't said a single word... I have no idea what the food is like there, but with such rude staff (or were they already drunk that morning?) it doesn't matter. We will never eat or drink there. We will tell anyone who wants to know or not how rude, stupid and unprofessional the so-called staff there is. Two almost disappointed customers ADDENDUM: This review was also apparently deleted “on demand”. Yes, it all happened exactly like that. If you can't stand bad criticism, you should rethink your concept and not cry on Google!

Habe heute mit herrlichem Blick zum Edersee hier zu Mittag gegessen. Das Schnitzel war gut und hat geschmeckt, sehr schön und ansprechend angerichtet. Der Blick zum Edersee von der Aussenterasse ist einfach toll. Das Personal höflich und sehr nett, Wartezeit auf das Essen ist bei diesem Ausblick sehr schnell vergangen. Gutes Restaurant mit schönen Außenbereich, freundliches Personal. Das Essen kann ich empfehlen, wir kommen im nächsten Urlaub sicher wieder.

Wir hatten Eis, Eiskaffee und Getränke. Zu den warmen Mahlzeiten können wir leider nichts sagen. Aber der Kellner war sehr nett, obwohl sehr offensichtlich war, dass zu wenig Personal vorhanden ist. Ein Mann musste alle Tische wuppen. Trotzdem wirkte er entspannt und nahm sich Zeit, um mit unserer Tochter Späße zu machen. Allein dafür gibt es von uns 5 Sterne.

Ich kam und bestellte vor dem Essen ein Bier, ich wartete über 20 Minuten auf das Bier, also gab ich das Essen sofort auf, weil ich noch länger gewartet hätte, die Bedienung war sehr unsympathisch, der Ort erinnerte mich an ein Angeltreffen, ich Ich kann es wärmstens nicht empfehlen, wir haben uns zum Essen 20 Meter entfernt im Hotel niedergelassen, wo es schon besser war

An der Imbiss-Kasse wurden unsere beiden Käufe sowie mindestens die der 3 Kunden vor uns, nicht in der Kasse erfasst. Die Kassenschublade steht offen, Geld wird einfach reingelegt, Display und Bon zeigen einen Umsatz, der mit den letzten Kunden nichts zu tun hat. Alles in allem, ist das für mich vorsätzlicher Umsatzsteuer-Betrug! Käufe erfolgten am 16.08.2022 um 12.55 Uhr sowie um 13.10 Uhr.

Seh nettes Personal, das Essen war sehr gut und ausreichend, haben erst draußen gesessen, dann wurden wir sehr höflich gefragt ob wir drinnen sitzen möchten da schlechtes Wetter aufziehen kann. Ausblick nochmals verbessert, Top Lage und Aussicht. Danke an den netten Kellner der immer an unseren Labrador vorbei musste. Wir sind sehr zufrieden gewesen und Dankeschön an das nette Team vom Hecht. PS an alle, wenn ich Imbiss hole zahle ich meist weniger nur zur Information an die letzten Rezession Könige !!!

Bij het loket ernaast braadworst en curryworst afgehaald en ter plekke gegeten. De worst zelf was prima, maar de broodjes waren oud. Portie curryworst was wel wat aan de kleine kant.

Meine Freundin und ich kamen auf dem Weg zu unserem Hotel am"Großen Hecht" vorbei und hatten auf Grund der hochromantischen Lage mit Blick auf Staumauer und nächtlichen See Lust auf einen Absacker. Der wurde uns ohne Umstände sofort serviert, obwohl das Personal schon frei hatte und am Aufräumen war. Sehr nett und aufmerksam.

Schaut an sich echt schön dort aus. Hat bisschen was Nordisches an sich was Top ist. Allerdings war der Service sowie das Essen schlecht. Es wurden Dinge auf der Karte angeboten die es garnicht gab. Wir saßen 10 Minuten, man nahm unsere Bestellung mehr oder weniger auf.. Die Kellnerin bediente 3 Tische gleichzeitig und musste mehrmals nach dem Preis der Gerichte selber nach fragen. Nachdem sie sich endlich um uns kümmerte war sie wieder verschwunden. Die Bestellten Sachen kamen nicht gleichzeitig sondern mit mindesten 10 Minuten unterschied. Kann es ja verstehen , dass viel los ist aber dann muss man das besser Planen. Wir bestellten 2 Kuchen dazu. Dieser kam natürlich erst dann , als alle anderen von unserem Tisch schon längst aufgegessen hatten. Der Kuchen war extrem Trocken und Hart. Auf beschwerde sagte man uns der Kuchen wäre frische 3 Tage alt.. Kein Wunder dass es trocken und hart war. Der Kuchen wurde nicht aufgegessen und uns wurde dann nicht mal angeboten , dass wir Ihn nicht bezahlen müssen. Ich kann es keinen empfehlen hierhin zu gehen!

Nettes Ausflugslokal mit Sitzplätzen drinnen wie draußen. Aussicht auf den Edersee. Freundliches Personal. Gutes Angebot.

Schöner Seeblick, sehr saubere Toiletten, die Service Mitarbeitern hat professionell und sehr freundlich gewirkt.

Total überforderte Bedienung. Bestellung 2 mal aufgenommen und dann noch 2 von 5 Gerichten vergessen und noch nicht mal ein tut mir leid absolutes Desinteresse.

Habe mir mit meiner Partnerin die Nuggets mit Pommes sowie die gute 12€ Currywurst bestellt. Nach etwas mehr als 30min warten wurden wir gefragt ob wir schon bestellt haben. Nach nocheinmal 10min wurde dann die Kalte Currywurst mit ein paar Pommes sowie dem guten Salat und die Nuggets geliefert. Die Sauce der Currywurst womit ja extra geworben wird schmeckt wie die von Maggi und der Rest war auch nicht wirklich erwähnenswert zumindest Positiv. Das Personal wirkte selbst bei nur 5 Gästen im Außenbereich überfordert. Ebenfalls wurde man angeschaut als hätte man was verbrochen. Danke aber nie wieder, die Bude daneben verkauft dasselbe für die Hälfte und sogar in Warm. Beim Essen sind übrigens noch Kleinteile vom Dach abgefallen und neben uns auf den Tisch gefallen. Meggie

Currywurst mit Pommes 11,50 €,völlig von gut und böse. Bedienung sehr freundlich, das war es aber auch schon . Bratwurst lauwarm Geschmacklich nein nicht noch einmal. Utopische preise unfassbar, Speisekarte siehe Foto

Sehr leckeres Eis und eine Seher freundliche Service

Das Personal war so diskret, dass es nicht merkte das Gäste gekommen sind. Wir durften Platz nehmen und ausführlichst die Karte studieren. Die Kellnerin hat uns komplett ignoriert. Nach gefühlten 30 Minuten konnte eine Getränkebestellung aufgegeben werden. Die Zubereitung von zwei Schnitzeln mit Pommes Frites nahm geschlagene 45 Minuten in Anspruch. Der Bezahlvorgang war für das Personal sehr anstrengend. Man musste die Geldbörse suchen und versuchte zu vermeiden eine Rechnung auszudrucken und dem Gast zu übergeben.
