If you're looking to pay a fortune for ice cream, this is the place for you. We also waited ages to be served, let alone to pay. Not recommended!

Thank God the shop is finally closed! The owner's behavior is unworthy of inspiring trust and fair dealing...!!!

We came here for a bite to eat. The schnitzels were okay, but we didn't feel particularly welcome.

The service is nice, but that's about it, unfortunately. The ice cream tastes totally artificial, and the cake is old and stale. We won't be eating anything here again.

The service was friendly, but that was it. They only served frozen food, and the 12.50 currywurst was one of the most inedible I've ever eaten in my life. It had a really thick crust (see photo) and seemed to have been sitting on the grill for hours. The cheesecake was watery, just thawed. The salad was soaked in curry sauce. Best to steer clear.

The food was simple but tasty and not too expensive. The waffles were also delicious. The service was very friendly. Unfortunately, the ambiance was rather uncomfortable and cold.

Hmm, what can I say... Point 1: The atmosphere is great. The owner is nice. The staff is friendly but ignorant. That's about it for the good stuff... Let's start with the order. I told the waiter that my grandma is gluten intolerant, so we'd have fries with the Cambert instead of the roll. No extra charge - everything was fine. BUT! He could have mentioned that the Cambert was breaded. Since my grandma is a nice little thing, she then laboriously scraped the cheese out of the breading. P.S. Train your staff. For people who have a really strong reaction to gluten, this can have serious consequences. Some aren't even allowed to eat fries from the deep fryer where schnitzel is cooked. The schnitzel with a side salad for 19.80? We eat out often and enjoy it, and we're willing to spend money and give a decent tip, but not for this. I work in the restaurant industry myself, and if five dishes are prepared in under 10 minutes and still look like convenience products at the end, then I have to put forward the theory that these are NOT fresh products. (Okay, the salad was fresh.) The "cranberries" tasted like that sweet mush that comes with the G&G Cambert product in the foil packaging, and the Cambert and the fried fish looked exactly like they came from a bag and, unfortunately, tasted exactly the same. The store has potential, but they're moving away from convenience products and working with fresh ingredients. At €19.80 for a schnitzel, I can certainly expect that. And yes, you can charge that price even with fresh ingredients. Or you can charge two-thirds of a euro more and deliver a decent schnitzel. It's also very questionable that everywhere it says that card payments don't work, but when you ask, they say they do. Anyone who thinks something bad about this is a scoundrel. Then just write that card payments are accepted. Conclusion: Once... But never again. The store has potential, but not with this structure. And if anyone says I'm making false claims, I have a hygiene pass and am willing to take a look into the kitchen, where they show me that these are NOT frozen or convenience products. I don't like writing bad reviews either, but if something really isn't good, it just has to be said. I think they're working on the principle of volume for high sales. All the best anyway. P.S. If my raspberry spritz with ice cubes and fruit is just barely on the measuring line, that's called stinginess. It was delicious, but the look really leaves a lot to be desired when you get a half-empty glass. And that includes the ice cubes and fruit.

The smoked trout was delicious. My wife's Hessian sour cream schnitzel was also delicious. The portions were generous. Good to very good value for money. We would go again. We were there during the week when there were fewer people.

Went here for coffee. The ice cream, cake, and coffee were all delicious. The ice cream cone was also quite large and not overly sweet. The whipped cream is freshly made—it's not a light whipped cream. Service was prompt, and preparation was surprisingly quick, despite the occupied seating inside and outside. - 07/27/25 Due to a system change, card payments were unfortunately not possible today. Keep that in mind :)

I've rarely eaten so badly. I had fried fish with potatoes and "homemade" herb sauce. The only good thing was the potatoes, but that's not exactly a feat in a professional kitchen. The fried fish was tasteless, and the supposedly homemade sauce turned out to be a floury mush with no flavor whatsoever. The waiter apologized, but that couldn't save the ruined meal. The owner of another restaurant on the lake then confirmed that the owner of the Aquarello had apparently called it quits. Conclusion: A waste of time and money.

Pure disappointment – never again The food at Aquamarello was a disaster: tasteless, poorly prepared, and even caused stomach problems for two of our companions. We wanted to sit outside under the umbrellas, but a male waiter sent us inside – apparently because he didn't want to walk through the light rain. The service was generally unfriendly; only the female waitresses were helpful and child-friendly. Conclusion: Not even Frank Rosin could save this restaurant. Absolutely not recommended.

Prices aren't justified. The female staff is very friendly. Next time, I'd drive a few meters further and eat at Zündstoff.

I went there for dinner with my wife yesterday. I had fried fish that was frozen but not cooked properly (the crust wasn't crispy). The sauce that came with it was so thick that you had to spread it with a knife like butter, and it was inedible. My wife had bratwurst with fries. The fries were OK, but the bratwurst was still cold in the middle. I advise everyone not to eat there.

I ate here with my family today. The service was simply great and friendly. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. My family and I highly recommend it.

Unfortunately, our visit to Aquarello on Lake Edersee was a huge disappointment. We didn't like the food at all—it was neither convincing in terms of taste nor quality. Even more unpleasant, however, was the way the staff treated us: extremely unfriendly and not very service-oriented. It's a shame, because the restaurant's location is actually quite promising. Unfortunately, dining out in this setting isn't enjoyable.

I was asked to sit outside, but since it was full, I couldn't eat anything, and the entire restaurant was empty. I had to leave the restaurant feeling very dissatisfied.

Card payments aren't accepted, and you're only told this after eating. Some items on the menu are out of stock or unavailable because the food is frozen and overpriced. The service is unfriendly.

In the age of digitalization, it's a no-go if card payments aren't possible. I don't know if operators are afraid of making too little profit. At least, I haven't seen anyone go bankrupt because of the fees associated with card payments. On the contrary, if you can pay by card, you usually spend more. You can allow card payments above a certain amount.

Not bad, the teaspoons are dirty, the tables are sticky (even after we asked them to wipe them), espresso is served without water and cream, not all tables have sugar and ashtrays. If you already wrote that this is a restaurant, then the basics should be there!

A large latte for €4.80, and it arrives lukewarm. I'd rather go somewhere else.

Hot waffles with cherries, great.

We didn't eat any hot food, but we did try an ice cream sundae. Unfortunately, it wasn't that flavorful. My Amarena sundae was missing the Amarena sauce; it had a few cherries in it, and the cream wasn't that great. It's better on the other side of the dam at Lekkomio! So, next time, we'll go back to our old favorite ice cream vendor! For just under ten euros, you expect something decent!

I had a waffle with ice cream and cream. I have to say, this was one of the best waffles I've ever tasted. And the service was very nice. If we go on a trip to Edersee again, we will stop at Aquarello.

Super friendly service. Great waffles and delicious ice cream. You can sit outside with a great view of the dam. Today, however, it was too windy for us, so we sat inside just as well. We'd be happy to go back.

Unfortunately no card payment possible... because of the internet!!!!!! 50 meters further in Mykonos.... Card payment no problem!!!!!????? The drink was delicious, the service was nice, the atmosphere was like everywhere else. 60€ that I paid somewhere else......if it doesn't matter?!?!?

Unfortunately the food was completely frozen food and very expensive. Four frozen potato pancakes with a dollop of applesauce cost €10. The “lemonade” was a stale Sprite-fake with no fizz.

Despite the bad reviews, I tried it and wasn't disappointed. We had fish (fried fish/trout), which was delicious. We wanted low carb and this wish was fulfilled. Everyone is very friendly here and the location is simple but definitely ok. Also the prices for the food, although I might pay 5.50 euros for a wheat in the city center of Frankfurt. We can't judge the rest, but the fish is good. Card payment not possible.

We were drawn here from Dortmund and Herne to the Edersee. The aquarello restaurant ob was the crowning conclusion to a good day with delicious trout Müllerin and a great ice cream sundae. Gladly again…..

The ambience doesn't make up for the bad food. Even the ice was a complete disaster

We wanted to eat a nice ice cream, but it was incredibly sweet and therefore inedible. I don't think I've ever left an ice cream sundae in my life, but I did here. It was like that for all of us. An outrageously high price is also charged for this quality. BUT our operator was very friendly.

Unfortunately the food isn't even worth 1 star, we ate there with the family. The food is very expensive and only frozen food. I had a Jägerschnitzel like most of us. We have never eaten such a bad sauce (ready-made sauce with canned mushrooms). I let the schnitzel go back. My homemade iced peach tea consisted of dissolved powdered iced tea (plastic container) as we know it from childhood. We expressed that the only thing we received was a 5% discount. The ambience is nice at the barrier wall. We will never enter the store again.

We came here spontaneously. There were waffles with ice cream and cream and coffee with milk. The service was very nice and attentive. It's nice to sit outside and I don't like it that much inside. The lady's toilet was pretty dingy and needs to be improved urgently.

Beautiful terrace, standard service, price performance unfortunately questionable, curry and bratwurst old and not fresh had a dry, thick skin and lay on the grill for at least 12 hours. I don't want to think about it, I wouldn't have eaten this normally. Unfortunately it's more of a snack bar than a restaurant. Please change something, your prices are not realistic. If 11.90 for a currywurst with fries then deliver 110% quality. Especially since there is already currywurst with fries for 2.90 50m away! 20 m further on, a 1a manufactured ice cream ligel costs a fair 1.50 instead of 2.80€ here, that's not correct, not even after Corona.

The currywurst was black/hardly charred on one side, inedible. The Jägerschnitzel was Teka Ware with a bag of sauce with fries that had been in the fryer for too long. And that for 17 euros. In addition, the diesel had no foam head. Nevertheless, we didn't even get a small compensation in the form of a drink or discount. Never again. In addition, half of the tables were cordoned off and you had to wait until something was free.

Ambience beautifully located on the Edersee. Service also friendly. Unfortunately the food was bad, I had a Jägerschnitzel and my son had a gratinated cheese schnitzel. The schnitzel was there just under 10 minutes after ordering. This is never possible with fresh schnitzel and fresh sauce. Conclusion: frozen schnitzel and ready-made sauce. This is very unfortunate and actually outrageous to the guests for the prices. I hope the owner will read the review and think about it!!!

We enjoyed the food very much 👍.

We were there 2 days ago and I can say that I have nothing to complain about. We all had a Jägerschnitzel, even though I don't like mushrooms. But I tried the mushrooms and was pleasantly surprised, so fresh and tasty. The service was great and we were able to pay quickly. Happy to come back!

We spontaneously rode our bikes to the Edersee barrier wall to refresh ourselves "at the Aquarello" with a delicious waffle and a latte maciato. Since we were still a little early, the waitress pointed out to us that we would have to be patient a little longer, but she already took our desired order. This all went very friendly and after just a short time our waffles and another latte maciato arrived on the table, with another friendly reminder that it would have taken a while. A really nice staff and location to recommend and also the ambience, as there is currently a Ferris wheel 🎡 in front of the visitor center and it is precisely because of this ambience that we recommend going there.

Nice atmosphere, food/drinks ok, unfortunately service leaves a lot to be desired. First we had to wait forever until the order was taken, we weren't asked in between whether we had any further requests or whether everything was ok and in the end we had to ask for the invoice several times and waited 15-20 minutes until we could finally pay.

Actually an impertinence towards the guests. Frozen schnitzel with canned mushrooms and sauce and that costs €16. The only fresh thing was the small side salad. On a Thursday around 4 p.m. only half the menu was available. No questions were asked about mayo or ketchup. An empty plate for children costs €1. Boiled potatoes instead of fries €1.50 extra charge. But you can do it with tourists. Here you can rest in the direct location of the barrier wall. A pity. Card payment is also not possible, no longer up to date. (It's right on the menu)

Drinks are good, food mediocre. You sit very comfortably. Cash only.

We went on a bike ride today and finished here. The service was very courteous and friendly. I ate a waffle, squirrel, very plentiful and tasty. The waffle is very fluffy like Muddi's. My sister had the waffle, sweet fruit, also very plentiful and tasty. We always like to come back🥰

Due to our trip to Edersee, we had our very late lunch here. We had trout, potato pancakes with salmon and herring salad. And all the dishes were super delicious. Unfortunately, we didn't know that you couldn't pay by card and didn't have enough cash with us either. Luckily, an employee of the restaurant offered to pay via his Paypal account. So be careful here: nothing happens without moss :-)

Tastes like at the hardware store

The price-performance ratio is more than meager. The portions won't fill you up and the price for such a portion is utopian. The service is very rude and extremely intrusive. You are asked if everything is okay and if you say yes you are stared at in silence for minutes. Sorry but I won't go there anymore.

The mixed ice cream was quite ok.

Just had dinner here. I had a currywurst with fries. The sausage looked pale and was cold, it never saw the skillet or grill. My wife had herring in cream sauce. The potatoes were cold and the fish tasted like salted herring. We told the waitress and there was no response. Unfortunately, the waitress was again the one to suffer. The catering industry shouldn't complain if guests stop eating out.

Ten tables free. You're not allowed to sit down because the staff can't seem to manage it. You can wait or sit somewhere. The person who was allowed to sit in the restricted area is "the Chancellor's friend." This is how you experience on May 1st, when you should be prepared as a restaurant at an excursion destination. One star is still too many. I can't say anything about the content of the offer.

We found the waffle with ice cream, cherries and cream for just under €10 to be steep! Served on a plate that felt like it was from the 80s. The cherries were not served separately so the waffle was swimming in the cherry juice relatively quickly and was completely soggy... This can be done better! Price performance doesn't fit here in my opinion. By the way, the espresso was not drinkable, no crema and really thin. The main dishes we saw at the neighboring tables didn't look appetizing, so we decided not to eat more than the waffle here. Ambiance in the restaurant and on the terrace 👎🏼

Na ja, wenn man als Kunde erstmal warten muss, bis das (gesamte) Personal sein zweites Frühstück mit Antipasti-Platte zu sich genommen hat und man so lange nicht bedient wird oder zum Bezahlen hinterherlaufen muss, finde ich das doch fraglich. Ich bin ja schon dafür, dass man mit seinem Personal pfleglich umgeht - aber der Zweck des Personals ist immer noch, die Kundschaft zu versorgen. Und ob Frühstücks-Sit-Inn um 12:00 h sein muss, wenn ich erst um 11:30 h geöffnet habe - ich finde nicht! Aber darf jeder für sich selbst entscheiden.

Ich habe dort ein Eis gegessen. Das Eis war gut.

Wir hatten einen schönen Tag am Edersee und haben in dem Restaurant lecker gegessen. Eiskaffee sehr zu empfehlen!!! Nette, freundliche Wirtsleute, Bestellung wird trotz voller Tische zügig serviert. Einzig die Toiletten würden sich über mehr Pflege und eine Renovierung freuen.

Es war nicht möglich bei der Eisschokolade eine andere Sorte Eis zu wählen, die bestellte Waffel war so dunkel, dass sie fast nicht genießbar war. Schade, es hätte perfekt werden können. Hier essen wir nicht mehr

Wir waren heute am Edersee und als wir am Lokal vorbeikamen wurde zur Mittagszeit ein Tisch in der Sonne frei. Die Mitarbeiterin kam sofort mit der Karte und die Getränke kamen zügig. Auch das Essen kam flott und wir fanden Geschmack und Menge passend für die Lage. Mein besonderer Dank gilt der besonders engagierten jungen Kellnerin, die auch für das Kassieren zuständig war!!!

Ich saß draußen im Restaurant für ein Radler und ein Schnitzel. Der Service war total schnell und freundlich :) alles schmeckte super, auch die Portionsgrösse war gut nachdem ich zuvor lange laufen und hungrig war. :)

Was für eine Waffel mit Eis und Erdbeeren. Es war mega lecker der Service war super wir kamen aus dem schwärmen nicht mehr raus. Danke für das lächeln 😉

Direkt an der Talsperre gelegen. Soweit so gut. Ein zweites Besteck (Kinderteller) kostet extra. Hab ich vorher noch nie erlebt. Toilettennutzung als "Nicht"-Gast kostet sage und schreibe 2€.

Schnelle und freundliche Bedienung. Das Essen kam kaum eine viertel Stunde nach der Bestellung. Die Größe der Portionen ist den Preisen angemessen. Eine schöne kleine Location. Gerne wieder.

Nicht nur Restaurant sondern auch gutes Cafe. Das Eis hier war echt super... auch die Waffeln. Ein echter Tipp.

Kann mich den negativen Rezensionen nur anschließen. Der sehr schöne Ort lädt die ansässigen Restaurantbetreiber geradezu ein Arroganz und Überheblichkeit zu entwickeln, das war vor Corona-Zeiten noch deutlich anders. Thema 1: Die Bedienung ist offenkundig nur noch 2te Wahl, das merkt man deutlich. Thema 2: Exorbitant gestiegene Preise! Hallo!!! Auch die Kunden leiden unter massiven Preiserhöhungen!!! Da wird sich jeder 3x überlegen, ob er eine Bratwurst mit Pommes für 9,80€ verzehrt. Nur weiter so, der Schuß wird irgendwann nach hinten losgehen.👍

Das Jägerschnitzel war sehr lecker 😋 kann man nur weiter empfehlen.

Ich und meine Frau waren heute im Aquarello am Edersee und es wurden uns direkt die Speisen und die Eiskarte gebracht. Nachdem meine Frau noch sehr unentschlossen war, wurde uns direkt die Waffel Edertaler Kirsch empfohlen. Sie hat 1A geschmeckt. Die junge Chefkellnerin war sehr nett und zuvorkommend!! Wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen!
