You can eat very authentic Greek food here! We had lunch. There's a small menu with dishes at moderate prices. Since we arrived a little later than the usual lunchtime of 12 pm, some of the dishes were already sold out, which wasn't a problem. We still found something, received good advice, and it was absolutely delicious 😋 Everything is fresh and homemade. I especially have to praise the calamari—lightly coated in flour, not at all hard, and not some pre-made product thrown into the fryer. Freshly made!!!! A small, excellent lunch menu, where it's understandable that some dishes might be sold out if you arrive a little later! Top-notch! Very friendly service! Highly recommended 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Thank you 🤩

We spontaneously stopped there for lunch with seven people. The bifteki and chicken dishes were delicious, and there wasn't much of a wait.

After a long wait, we were rewarded with tzatziki. The vegetarian food was okay.

You can tell that the cooking here is done with heart. Whenever I'm in Oldenburg, I always enjoy coming here to escape everyday life for a few hours. For me, "Zum Griechen" is a place to enjoy, relax, and feel good. I highly recommend it!

This was our first time at this little Greek restaurant on Mottenstrasse, in the city center and pedestrian zone of Oldenburg. A small and very family-run restaurant in which the boss, a native Greek, works in the kitchen himself. You notice that immediately. His wife and a nice colleague served us and looked after us like real guests. We felt comfortable straight away. We were the first guests, after which we wanted to go to the Theater Laboratorium, a really nice place in Oldenburg, to see a nice piece of culture. We were welcomed very politely and served promptly. Special requests in the food order were implemented exactly and we were more than satisfied with the result, very beautiful plates. As a starter we had a small tzatziki plate, I had the 411 on the menu, the meat was cooked to perfection. Not so dry and very flavorful. My wife had a fish dish and was raving about it at breakfast this morning. We go out to eat often and have often been very disappointed. Here it was surprisingly good and honest. Food is great! The climate in the restaurant is a matter of taste but the floor covering could be replaced slowly.

I can recommend this restaurant to anyone who prefers delicious Greek cuisine. SERVICE is very important here. Everyone is very friendly and the different courses are perfectly spaced apart. We also felt very comfortable here with the children. The food is well prepared and tastes really good. Oldenburg is always worth a visit anyway. This restaurant definitely does too.

I'm a regular at Zum Griechen and I'm thrilled every time! The food is always fresh, super tasty and authentically Greek - whether it's gyros, souvlaki or the starters, everything tastes great. The tzatziki in particular is my personal highlight! The staff are always friendly, warm and attentive - you almost feel like you're on holiday. The atmosphere is cozy and familiar, which makes the visit special every time. For me the best Greek restaurant in Oldenburg – absolute recommendation!

I've rarely eaten better gratinated gyros, the sauce is outstanding and a good idea: vegetable rice instead of Djuvec rice as it goes better with the dish and doesn't have such a dominant taste. According to my wife, her calamari was the best she has eaten. We'll be back

I was disappointed. The meat was only lukewarm and, despite the "grill pattern", hardly had any grilled or roasted flavors. The service was distant and not very warm, as you would otherwise find in a Greek restaurant. Conclusion: Sorry, but I can immediately think of at least three other Greeks in Oldenburg who are significantly better.

I really think it's great here! The food is really delicious; tender meat that falls apart in your mouth and the right amount of everything. There is always a little extra on the house for dessert. Nice atmosphere where you feel comfortable. A reservation is definitely a must! The tables are usually all occupied and a spontaneous visit is not possible. But the reservation and the enjoyment of waiting for it are worth it!! My absolute favorite restaurant when I want to eat Greek ☺️

I can't understand the good reviews. I can't say anything about the quality of the food, but the service wasn't good at all. We had to wait 20 minutes for our drinks even though there were only a few guests. When the food still wasn't there after 45 minutes and when we asked it would take another 15 minutes, we paid for the drinks and left. I understand that it may take longer if the store is busy, but not if there are 5 tables occupied.

We were a large group of 7 people and were welcomed like good friends. A few tables were quickly put together and off we went with a schnapps. The food was very tasty. A very hospitable team. Thank you for this nice experience! We'd love to come back! LG

This even surpassed my favorite Greek restaurant from my hometown. The food was excellent, but could have been a little more. Gyros were juicy, the fried potatoes were perfect, even if they were probably fried instead of fried, the bifteki was a dream and the calamari was also great. We'll definitely go there again.

The starters were very tasty, but unfortunately we weren't entirely convinced by the main course. Never again, the service person told us that we had to speak more quietly, we didn't know we were sitting in a library. She herself was so loud on the phone that we could no longer converse. I had gyros with fried potatoes. However, they were straight out of the bag frozen anything. Very horrible!!!

Wir hatten dort Weihnachtsfeier. Vorzügliche griechische Speisen und Service wie man sich diesen wünscht. Das Ambiente ist etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig, würde aber jederzeit dort wieder essen.

Leider nicht so gut wie durch die zuvor angesehen Bewertungen erhofft. Calamaris waren leider wie Gummi und daher habe ich sie auch nicht aufgegessen. Das Gyros ist auch leider nur mittelmäßig. Der Wein und die Desserts als Geschenk des Hauses und der Service waren aber sehr nett.

Es war mal wieder ein sehr schöner Abend. Das Essen hat sehr gut geschmeckt und die Servicekräfte waten aufmerksam, freundlich und zuvorkommend. Zum Schluss gab es, wie immer, einen schönen flambierten Metaxa.

Wir können die gute Qualität der Speisen nur bestätigen. Alles war lecker, reichlich und schön angerichtet. Das Brot hätte etwas frischer oder krosser sein können. Der Quzo zur Begrüßung war nicht gekühlt. Die zum Abschied gereichten kleinen Kuchen und Getränke waren ebenfalls richtig klasse. Einzig das Ambiente hat uns nicht gefallen. Wir saßen quasi in einer Art Flur in der Nähe der Toilette, deren Tür nicht automatisch schloss. Somit hatten wir zuweilen uneingeschränkte Aussicht auf das Klosett. Die gemütliche Einrichtung, die man meist in griechischen Lokalen vorfindet, haben wir hier vermisst. Alles war sehr hell und eben irgendwie ungemütlich. Insgesamt hat es uns dort nicht gefallen, sorry.
