Despite the restaurant being quite full, we were warmly informed on the phone: "Please don't worry, we'll make a reservation for you – whether in the restaurant or in the conservatory." This friendly approach continued throughout the entire evening. Atmosphere & Service Upon entering the restaurant, the pleasantly warm and inviting atmosphere is immediately apparent. Candlelight, fresh flowers on the table, and attentive, yet never intrusive, staff instantly create a welcoming ambiance. Despite the large number of guests, the service remained consistently attentive and friendly – ​​a testament to the excellent management by the owner, who clearly operates with passion and a comprehensive understanding of the business. Cuisine & Culinary Experience Special praise is due to the kitchen, which delivered a true masterpiece that evening. The meat was consistently tender, perfectly grilled, and some cuts even boasted a juicy, pink center – a remarkable feat considering the number of guests. Each piece of meat had its own unique character and flavor – no homogenous taste, as is unfortunately sometimes the case in other Greek restaurants. Here, you could taste the care taken in selecting and preparing each individual cut. The tzatziki was creamy, delicately seasoned, and not overpowering, perfectly complementing the flavors of the meat. The food also arrived quickly and fresh, highlighting the excellent organization in both the kitchen and the service. Conclusion A thoroughly enjoyable evening – from the first phone call to the last bite. The team at Restaurant Elena demonstrated how genuine hospitality, culinary expertise, and professional service can go hand in hand. Of course, this evening was more than worth a generous tip. We came here for a cozy evening, which lasted from 7:00 PM to 10:15 PM. The service simply forgot about us several times, menus took a while to arrive, the food took a good hour and a half to come, drinks were forgotten, and when we finally wanted to pay, we had to ask several times again. As a small consolation, they offered a complimentary coffee or ouzo. Great! 👍🏻

We're actually happy here, but the quality of the souvlaki skewers isn't great. Very greasy, unfortunately, others do much better. The service is excellent and the atmosphere, apart from the noise level, is nice.

We visited Elena for the first time after hearing a lot of good things. Unfortunately, we can't understand the good reviews. The food was mediocre. Nothing special. Souvlaki lovers beware, the meat here is streaky. The tzatziki was quite flavorless. The service was nice, but as a "non-regular," you weren't really noticed. Every table around us got an ouzo, except for us (even though it was listed as a zero-amount bill). We also had to wait a very long time for the bill, even though we had ordered a takeaway dish, which was wrapped and left on our table to cool. Too bad, our expectations weren't met.

We were there on Saturday. It took a while to order. My food was okay. Rice was cold and bifteki was warm. The waitress was barely visible, everything took a long time. I had told them I wanted to pay. After 30 minutes, no one was there. I left, and my friends paid for me. The staff were other guests, and they were probably more important to one another. Sorry, I was there only once and won't be going again. Too bad.

I was there recently on a Saturday evening and it was, of course, quite busy. The food was really great; I've rarely had such good Greek food. However, we did wait a bit longer for our drinks and food. And maybe a few fewer tables in the dining room wouldn't hurt either; I think the seating was quite close together. But, as I said, the food was really amazing.

Our first visit there and we were not disappointed. 🤗Excellent food! The gyro was so delicious. Perfectly seasoned, not too greasy, not too dry, and perfectly balanced with the tzatziki. The Metaxa sauce was delicious, really fresh, and not swimming in grease like you sometimes find elsewhere... I also want to emphasize that they are incredibly child-friendly! Everyone is super friendly and accommodating.

Although the restaurant was very busy and we didn't have a reservation, the owner personally welcomed us warmly and immediately booked us a table. There are situations in the restaurant industry where, under stress, almost everything goes wrong—not nice, but it does happen sometimes. Unlike our previous visits to "Elena," this time we were affected. We've often experienced "apologies" in various restaurants that the people in charge would have been better off not bothering with. Not so with Elena! She is completely composed and was very generous to us—of course, she didn't have to be, but it shows how honest this woman is with her guests. I've never experienced such friendly staff. The very friendly and personal greeting, the service, and everything, was top-notch. The atmosphere was fantastic. Many restaurants could learn a thing or two from this. Here, the customer is still king. The food was average for us. We prefer more garlic in the tzatziki and leaner gyros, but that's a matter of taste and different everywhere. The meat, such as fillet, souvlaki, chicken, etc., was very good.

Aktiv Irma also recently opened a food truck with fantastic pita sandwiches like in Greece! Highly recommended, and the staff is incredibly friendly!

Hello, Here at Elena's you'll find delicious Greek food and a relaxed, friendly service team. Reservations are probably a good idea, as it wasn't that busy when we were there. The restaurant also has a food truck, which is how I discovered the place. Both were very good and reasonably priced. Dessert was on the house as a welcome gift from the kitchen :) super nice! The service was really good, friendly and always there quickly if we had a request even though the restaurant was full. The food was really tasty and the portions were big too. Price performance was great. We were here for the first but not the last time.

The day before New Year's Eve, we went bowling with a group of disabled and funny people. We were offered the use of the bowling alleys free of charge in advance. That was great. Everyone ordered a drink and we had a lot of fun. Very nice staff :). Time passed too quickly. We wanted to pay when the boss surprised us by covering the entire cost. We were really happy. We were here for our eldest son's birthday party: first bowling and then a relaxed meal in the restaurant. Even though we were 18 people, the service was very friendly and courteous. The restaurant was full and yet all the service staff were relaxed. This birthday party was a celebration!

The food at Elena's is always delicious and very filling. We have eaten various dishes here and have always been very satisfied. The service is always very friendly and attentive, so that you feel very comfortable. Like everywhere else, the prices have of course increased in the meantime, but you have to accept that or just eat at home. Although I have to say €10.90 for a baked feta cheese as a starter is already very high ;-) We can only recommend everyone to eat there at least once!

We were in Oldenburg again after a long time and felt very comfortable at ELENA. We were immediately greeted in a friendly manner and were seated at a nice table. There was an ouzo beforehand. The dishes were all very well prepared and presented. My gyros with liver tasted excellent. As dessert there was a delicious greeting from the kitchen. We were completely satisfied and will definitely be back soon.

The food and service was great! There were even hygiene products, deodorant, hand cream and hair spray in the toilets. The free dessert was also very good. If you drive past Oldenburg, we recommend stopping as it is close to the motorway.

Here they charge almost the same price for much less food than the meat dishes. However, it should be noted that suggestions for improving the veggie dish we ordered were even asked for.
