Nice atmosphere in the covered garden. My souvlaki was very well fried. The starter Dolmadaki was beautifully prepared and tasted very good. The service was great, everything came quickly and the waiters were friendly.

After eating here for years because the Greek restaurant was around the corner and we could walk there, we were there for the last time last night. As we learned, the owner has changed. I have never felt so badly treated in a restaurant as I did yesterday; it was our last day of vacation and we wanted to end it in Crete. As always, we walked there spontaneously and hoped to get a spot outside. We were asked if we had a reservation and were told no and we would have to sit inside. Other times we came without a reservation and somehow always got the opportunity. Even though we had to wait a few minutes to be seated outside. Since my husband didn't feel like changing restaurants, we took a seat inside. While we placed our order and ate, we noticed that a lot of reservations were made outside without the guests knowing. I even said to one guest. Oh, if you don't want to sit outside, I'll be happy to take the seat. It definitely became clear to me why it was no longer possible to spontaneously eat outside in the beer garden. A little later the new owner came to our table and wanted to buy us a drink because we couldn't sit outside. This turned into an argument because I asked why he made the reservation outside when the guests didn't explicitly ask for it. The host felt directly attacked and explained that if he wanted, he, as the owner, could also close the restaurant inside. After all, it was the season outside, so he would also make the reservation for outside. He told me that I had struck him as unpleasant as soon as I entered because I couldn't get a seat outside. It's true I was disappointed not to be able to sit outside, but that was between me and my husband and we could have decided to go somewhere else, but we decided to stay there and I told him that too, we Sitting in here now. He then said that he actually wanted to buy us a drink and left in a huff. He had said to me before. It would be true that customers are king, but then you should also behave like a king. I told him that when it's outdoor season, especially as smokers, we're looking forward to being able to smoke our cigarettes outside at the table during our stay. In contrast to winter, where you constantly have to get up and go out and that destroys the atmosphere. I was horrified by the treatment and then went outside to calm myself down and in the meantime the guest came to my husband and bought him a glass of beer. When I came back to the table, I couldn't believe that he just bought my husband a drink instead of saying, for example: We don't want to argue here and I'll buy you an ouzo now, but only buy one guest out of two a drink. Matched exactly the impression I got from this innkeeper. At the end of the evening we left the drink and therefore the food, which we had actually packed to take away. We were very ashamed of the way we were treated and just wanted to leave the restaurant quickly. The evening was the most terrible evening in a restaurant I have ever experienced. There are still some good Greek restaurants in Oldenburg and in any case we won't be seen again in Kreta, it's a shame. Although the prices have also gone up and the portions on the plate have gone down. So, you should really think about how you deal with guests when you work in the catering industry. I worked in the catering industry myself for years

The restaurant is okay, I would say solid middle class, super nice staff and ordering process. Unfortunately, the starter salads and the main courses didn't really convince us, some of them were very salty or half burnt or rather tasteless... It's a shame, but it's still OK when the other Greek places are closed.

Were there for the first time and everything was perfect, excellent food, service and, given the weather, a nice beer garden. The parking lot is a bit hidden but it was easy to park on the other side of the street. We had Bifteki & Gyros, very tasty 😋 Anytime again 👍

New operators, new mentalities, e.g. when it comes to pricing, a price increase for a dish and at the same time a smaller quantity is not possible at all, or the whereabouts of the tip... does everything go to the operating family and non-family employees get nothing? So ask when paying and also critically question the answer... We are considering whether, after more than 25 years of eating at Crete with the Stavridis family, we can now also put our trust in the new operating family.

The best meal in a very long time. Meat 1A, sauce - where can I get the recipe? Price; good food has its price, absolutely justified! We can only recommend it to everyone.

Der überdachte Garten ist nahezu unschlagbar und das Personal freundlich. Die Karte ist wie zu erwarten sehr fleischbetont, aber so dermaßen wenige vegetarische oder gar vegane Möglichkeiten habe ich selten erlebt. Bei den Vorspeisenplatten steht schon in der Karte, dass Änderungen nicht möglich sind. Krass! Sonst könnte ich ja zumindest das Fleisch und den Fisch weg lassen. Aber nö, das geht da nicht. Ich hab mir dann Auberginen und Paprika gebraten ohne den Tzaziki bestellt. Völlig ungewürzt und ohne jegliche Deko auf dem Teller kam es am Tisch an. Ich bat dann um eine Pfeffermühle, um dem ganzen ein wenig Aroma zu verleihen. Gab es nicht. Ein Restaurant ohne frischen Pfeffer aus der Mühle? Echt jetzt? Ich bekam dann den 70er-Jahre Salz/Pfeffer-Streuer mit billigstem Industriepfeffer. Danke! Das verschlimmbesserte eher. Wir wollten dann mit Karte zahlen, dazu muss man dort an den Tresen. Hätte ich im Jahr 2024 in einem Restaurant mit locker über dreißig Tischen nun auch nicht erwartet. Und der Tzatziki…nun ja…wurde selbstverständlich trotzdem berechnet. Das Preisniveau hat auch deutlich angezogen, die Qualität leider nicht. Zum Hühnchen des Gatten gab es TK-Gemüse mit einer Art Hollandaise. Weder besonders griechisch, noch lecker. Für den aufgerufenen Preis…naja. Eher nicht wieder. Sehr schade.

Were there last night with 11 people. Had a nice spot outside. Unfortunately I'm a little disappointed with the service. Drinks were delivered incorrectly and we had to wait a little longer for a meal. The service was inattentive, we would definitely have had more drinks, but oh well. The icing on the cake came at the end...payment was only possible at the counter and there were two drinks too many on the bill. After some discussion, we then paid for the drinks (which we didn't receive/order). Sorry, that doesn't work at all.

I have always been a regular at this restaurant... Everything's good so far! Today we (11 people) were supposed to pay for drinks that we hadn't consumed... There was no mercy... We couldn't pay at the table and had to stand in line at the counter... Ouzo was only available while standing and only after being asked to do so... It's a shame... 11 people who were not satisfied… But that’s just the way it is…

Ate there twice. You don't have to have it more often. Nothing special, although they have their regular customers…

I haven't eaten so well in a long time. The new owners have created a great atmosphere. You are welcomed very warmly and the customer is taken care of directly. I never once had the feeling that I was being neglected as a customer. I was there with my father and it seemed like waiting time was a foreign concept in this store. We were served the starter straight away and when we were finished, the delicious warm main course followed. The rump steak was great! I would like to come back because I certainly don't feel as comfortable anywhere else as I do in Crete. Thank you for the delicious food.

Crete is the absolute gold standard when it comes to Greek hospitality and authentic cuisine. More is hardly possible... We can do it again and again!!!

No longer what it used to be - for years we have been ringing in the weekend with a Meses platter from Crete: delicious, rich, simply good. After the owner changed a few months ago, the prices have risen significantly, but otherwise there's a problem: sometimes the coleslaw was missing when I opened the packaging at home, sometimes the beans, sometimes the gyros and sometimes the scampo - when I ordered before Easter even both lettuce and shrimp. When I complained about this, the new boss claimed that there had always been nothing wrong with the plates. I was already known as a complainer by the previous owner (completely unreasonable) and just wanted to sneak extra portions for the next order. Thank God I don't need it that much! Mistakes can happen, but anyone who tries to cover up their own mistakes by portraying regular customers as troublemakers and fraudsters doesn't deserve a store that is always full! The superficial, obviously false friendliness and the friendly duplicity on the part of the staff don't help either. It's a shame about the delicious record (if it's complete...), but never again!

Hello, unfortunately I have to tell you that this restaurant has completely overpriced prices compared to the previous owner. Smaller portions also give you the feeling that you are not really welcome there. There are a few other good restaurants...

Smaller portions on even smaller plates. Now you pay a lot more for that. After 25 years we will look for another restaurant. It's a shame actually.

Durch Zufall auf Geschäftsreise hier gelandet zum Abendessen. Essen sehr lecker, große Portionen, Preisleistungsverhältniss top. Service fantastisch, sehr aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Wäre es unsere Heimatort, wären wir öfter hier. Leckerer Ouzo spezial;-)

Ein sehr schönes kleines Lokal ..und ganz nettes Personal. Waren alle sehr freundlich zu uns. 2Sterne ziehe ich aber dennoch ab. Ich weiß über Geschmack lässt sich natürlich immer streiten. Aber ich fand das der Krautsalat ganz schlimm sauer geschmeckt hat. Und die Metaxasoße war auch ein ganz großes graus für mich. Sehr flüssig und Geschmacklich ganz anders wie ich es sonst beim Griechen kenne. Ansonsten hatten wir einen netten Abend hier.

Wir haben das Restaurant mit 8 Personen besucht und ALLE waren rundum mit dem Angebot, dem Service und der Freundlichkeit zufrieden. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Tolles Restaurant mit sehr nettem Personal und super Essen. War mehrmals da und wurde nie enttäuscht. Egal ob Fleisch Nudeln oder Salat. Es schmeckt einfach alles total gut.

Wir haben hier heute einen wirklich schönen Abend verbracht. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich, das Gyros und Suvlaki zart und das Souzouki schmackhaft gewürzt. Auch die Metaxasoße kann ich nur empfehlen. Ich war mit meinem Kreta Teller Nr. 37 sehr zufrieden und werde bald wiederkommen.

Auch im neuen Jahr genauso gut wie immer. Gute Qualität und prima Service zu einem fairen Preis, und das schon seit Jahrzehnten.

Wir haben mit einer großen Gruppe das besucht. Wir wurden sehr freundlich bedient. Das Essen war ein Gedicht. Trotz der großen Gruppe, haben wir alle gleichzeitig ein frisch ubereitetes Essen bekommen.

Immer wieder schön hier. Bei guten Freunden einkehren und es sich Rund um gut gehen lassen. Das Gyros und das Suvlaki sind beide das Beste was es in Oldenburg gibt!! Ohne Diskussion! Preis/Leistung exzellent.

Essen sehr lecker, leider nicht einmal Brot dabei, kaum Beilage aber etwas hohe Preise, etwas enttäuscht.

1 Besuch und sehr überrascht. Toller Service und sehr gute Qualität beim Essen. Preise völlig moderat und um 18.00 ausgebucht.

War in meiner Kindheit oft mit der Familie da und jetzt nach über 20 Jahren wieder und kann nur sagen das mit Abstand beste griechische Restaurant in Oldenburg! Danke !

Das Kreta bietet genau das , was man von einem typischen Griechen erwartet, also gut, alle Erwartungen erfüllt. Ich gehe öfters mal hin.

Stammkunden werden bevorzugt behandelt. Musstenn3 x sagen das wir bestellen möchten. Pärchen werden bevorzugt. Saßen draußen, alle Sitzkissen waren nass oder feucht. Interessierte den Inhaber und den Kellner aber nicht .

Leckere Speisen zum guten Preis...dazu gibt's den obligatorischen Ouzo...

FAZIT: Ein wunderbares Restaurant mit einer leckeren Küche, aber leider zu wenig Personal - vor allem, wenn auch noch Gastbetrieb im Biergarten herrscht (deshalb gibt es leider nur 4 von 5 Sterne). Sinnvollerweise vorher Plätze reservieren. Lage / Ambiente: Das KRETA bietet leider keinen eigenen Parkplatz, parken ist nur an der Nadorster Straße möglich. Für alle Ortsansässigen aber ist die Bushaltestelle (an der auch der Nachtbus hält) unmittelbar neben der Eingangstür. Daher gibt es hier eine sehr gute Anbindung. Der Biergarten draußen ist gemütlich und lädt zum Verweilen ein, wenn es drinnen voll ist kann es da schon mal etwas lauter zugehen, aber das ist vermutlich Geschmacksache. Service: Wir mussten leider relativ lange warten, bis wir überhaupt die Speisekarte bekamen UND ein zweites Mal warten, um die Getränkebestellung aufzugeben. Nachdem wir sie dann, nach einer gefühlten Ewigkeit, endlich an den Platz bekamen, konnten wir endlich auch unsere Essensbestellung aufgeben. Hier macht sich dann der Mangel an Personal bemerkbar. Allerdfings kam das Essen im Verhältnis zu den Getränken sehr schnell. Essen: Superlecker, gute Portion, genial gewürzt, saftiges Fleisch (nicht totgebraten). Wir waren 5 Personen, alle waren hochzufrieden - hier gibts ganz klar die volle Punktzahl... Preis-Leistung: Nunja, das KRETA gehört nicht zu den billigsten Restaurants, aber dafür ist es nun mal auch kein Imbiss, sondern ein Restaurant - und alles ist nun mal teurer geworden - das Schnitzel gibts im Restaurant auch nicht mehr für 9 Euro. Also insofern passt das alles gut zusammen.

Das Essen ist hier gut, der Preis ist Ok dafür. Ambiente stört mich etwas das es so klein / eng alles ist mit den Tischen und dur h den kleinen Raum es sehr laut wird bei einer etwas höheren Personen zahl. Service war gut, immer schnell da. Essen wurde innerhalb 20 minuten serviert nsch Bestellung.

Wir waren "spontan" bei dem Griechen essen. Direkt beim ankommen schon super freundlicher Empfang. Das Essen war auch sehr lecker, das Gyros super gewürzt, Pommes und Reis ebenfalls super. Wir kommen gern wieder.
