There were three of us in the barrel. It was the 2nd visit. You can eat very well here. I had schnitzel with pepper cream sauce and can only recommend it. The prices are okay, but what irritated me a bit is the price of the water 😳 (see photo)

Well, yes. The high prices in a small restaurant surprised us a bit. We also observed that walk-in customers were turned away because all the seats in the beer garden were reserved. However, no one was sitting there and everything in the dining room was free. Very incomprehensible, especially since most people just wanted something to drink. The service staff was friendly. The food was okay, but we were far from feeling good. We won't be coming back here again.

I'm at the inn every now and then. This family-run business offers a warm atmosphere and the food is freshly prepared. Even vegan is no problem for me. It tastes delicious and the price/performance ratio is great. I can't say anything about staying overnight, I basically live next door and don't need a room there.

The garlic cream soup is so delicious, as are the other dishes. The breakfast in the morning was very fresh and lovingly prepared on the terrace. Especially the fruit plate!

The food was okay, as was the beer. The selection of food is relatively small. A waiter (the older one) relatively ignored us and gave strange answers. The younger waiter was really nice and soon served us. The prices are OK. 3.5 stars,

Great location to stop off while wine hiking! It's really nice to sit outside. The San Miguel is nice and cold and delicious and the chanterelle spaghetti is a blast!

I stopped here with a couple of friends for a spontaneous beer and something to eat. We sat outside and were unfortunately only served after asking directly. Unfortunately, distributing seat cushions on the chairs was priority number one for the operator at that moment. I was very happy that I was able to drink San Miguel on tap again for a long time - cool! The dish we ordered, roast beef with fried potatoes, came quickly and was delicious. However, I and my companions didn't really get full because the portion size wasn't appropriate. What was pleasantly surprising was the chic interior, which unfortunately I was only able to examine briefly on the way to the toilet. If I get the chance, I'd be happy to come back and try out the menu again.

This review only applies to the restaurant that I visited on the occasion of a birthday. I have to say, I would happily give this 6 out of 5 stars, that's how good I thought the food was. The service was also extremely courteous and friendly. Since I am often in this region, be it to visit family or simply to go hiking or kayaking, I will definitely stop by the barrel again and enjoy the great food there.

I'm surprised at the many positive reviews. Then I would like to say that I couldn't have this experience. Waiting time extremely excessive. This means that an assessment of the food is not possible. I'll save myself a second visit. There are very nice dining options in the area.

I can only rate the newly opened restaurant and it is extremely good. The food is very tasty and appetizingly prepared, and special requests are catered for. The service was also very nice and quick. We can highly recommend the restaurant! Open all day from April 1st!

Rooms are clean and lovingly furnished. The location is great, right on the Saale cycle path, you can quickly get to Freyburg or Naumburg. The breakfast was fantastic, well prepared and everything you could wish for. Very nice hosts and the small restaurant is very chic. Absolutely recommended, we would love to come back

We went there for dinner with friends and it was very tasty.

We were still without accommodation in the evening and spontaneously found shelter here after 165 kilometers of cycling. We were served so friendly and courteously by the innkeeper and the service that it was a pleasure! Our bikes were also stored without further ado. The late dinner and wine tasted wonderful. We can only recommend the “Keg” and wish you all the best for the future!

Unfortunately very disappointed. We had to wait a whole hour for our drinks. The service was also unfriendly and annoyed.

Food was average and the prices were too exaggerated, as a group of 10+ people we had to wait over an hour for drinks and another 20 minutes for the food. The schnitzel was thin and tasteless and the service was okay but not outstanding either. For these prices and waiting times it is not recommended

Das Essen ist super und eine deutliche Empfehlung wert. Wir haben es im Urlaub zwei Mal genießen dürfen und haben uns im Biergarten sehr wohl gefühlt.

Wir haben unser Hochzeitsessen für den Abend bestellt Das Essen war pünktlich wie abgesprochen und unsere Gäste waren sehr begeistert von dem Menü genauso wie wir selber. Wir möchten uns an dieser Stelle auch normal recht herzlich bedanken für das tolle Essen. Selbst das Lokal ist mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet mit sehr netten Personal Wir können euch nur weiter empfehlen also wenn ihr mal in der Nähe seid und gut essen möchtet dann nichts wie hin Daumen hoch macht weiter so 👍👍👍

Ein sehr schöne Location mit super freundlichem Personal und leckerem Essen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Zum Fässchen ist auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert.

Nach einem spontanen Besuch in diesem kleinen versteckten Lokal, bleibt ein mehr als positives Resultat. Das Essen ist sehr lecker, sowohl Fleisch auch als Fisch wussten zu überzeugen. Die freundliche Dame von der Bedienung war sehr nett und hat einen guten Service geleistet. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis ist auch absolut in Ordnung. Gerne wieder !

Super Essen, nette Bedienung und schönes Ambiente nach der Renovierung. Hab leider keine Fotos gemacht.

Nach der umfangreichen Sanierung besuchte ich heute mal wieder das Fäss'chen und war sehr positiv überrascht vom aussehen der Gaststätte. Am Essen hat sich immer noch nichts zum negativen geändert. Wie immer war es sehr lecker, die Wartezeiten vom bestellen bis bezahlen waren sehr kurz und das Personal wie immer freundlich und kompetent. Ich komm natürlich wieder und empfehle jedem mal im Fäss'chen zu essen!

Einfach ein toller Anlaufpunkt am Saale-Rad-Wanderweg. Nach der Modernisierung ist die Gaststube ein wirklicher Hingucker. Der Wirt ist immer gastfreundlich und das von ihm zubereitete Essen super! Eine echte Empfehlung ob im Sommer oder Winter.

Gemütliches Lokal mit einer schönen Terrasse. Wir sind auf einer Radtour zufällig vorbei gekommen und waren sehr zufrieden.

Absoluter Hammer….sehr freundlich und nett….Chef kam persönlich an den Tisch und fragte nach unseren Wünschen…machte aus einer Portion zwei kleine Portionen ( nach persönlichem Wunsch ) Essen perfekt und lecker…kommen sehr gerne wieder…..weiter so 👍
