Braugasthaus Naumburg in Naumburg (Saale)

This is our first time in Naumburg, and we're planning to start 2026 here. While exploring the town, we stumbled upon this inn and asked for a table for two. Despite the restaurant being full, they were able to accommodate us for the evening. So we arrived (a little early!), were first shown to a nearby table, and then to our own seats. We opted for beer and hearty food: "Kupferbier" (a local beer), duck, and sauerbraten. It was superb and tasted fantastic. Against all reason, we "had to" finish with a Germknödel (a type of sweet dumpling), which we shared. It was very fresh, beautifully presented, and delicious. We would like to thank the exceptionally friendly, efficient, and attentive staff for the excellent food and drinks. All the best, thank you very much, and we wish you a great start to 2026.

The food in the restaurant was very high quality and tasted excellent, and the service was attentive and professional. Overall, a very good impression 👍. Great location. Rooms overlooking the market square. The hotel rooms were perfectly fine in terms of value for money. Unfortunately, there were very long waiting times at breakfast, especially for rolls, eggs, and coffee, which dampened our start to the day. Overall, though, I can still recommend the hotel.

I can only review the food. For me, it's the best restaurant in Naumburg's city center. Aside from the very tasty home-brewed beer, the food is consistently good and the menu is imaginative. They even have a vegan option. Only the service could be a bit warmer at times.

As a tourist, you arrive at the recommended brewery shortly before 2:00 PM on a Sunday. But at the entrance, they say the kitchen is already closed. There's no indication anywhere on the website, on the online menu, or on-site that the kitchen closes mid-day on Sundays (with stated opening hours from 11:30 AM to 9:30 PM). This should definitely be mentioned on the website, otherwise I expect the kitchen to be open the whole time! So we only had one beer and stayed hungry. And during our stay from about 1:50 PM to 2:30 PM, rows of meals were brought from the kitchen to guests at other tables. We felt a bit ripped off. Unfortunately, there was no "I'll ask the kitchen if there's room for two more meals" from the staff. Unfortunately, not a good first impression at all. At least the beer was good.

Great. Simply great. Perfect location, very friendly service. I didn't eat anything, just drank the beer I used myself, but it was very, very good. The Altbier is a dream. I definitely have to come back for something to eat and try the other beers. Simply fantastic!

Apparently, the structure of the historic town house was only carefully altered when a brewery pub was established here. This preserved the building's charm. 👍 Home-brewed, various 🍺 beers on tap! The associated ⛱ beer garden is right next door on the market square. Friendly landlord and staff. Insider tip 🍀 for lovers of special 🍺 beers. As far as I know, this is currently the only brewery in Naumburg.

We stopped in here spontaneously today and were very pleasantly surprised. The beer (Kupfer) was absolutely amazing, and the daily special, "Potato Omelette with Chanterelles," was a pure explosion of flavor. And that's no exaggeration. Thanks to the kitchen for that. Food doesn't always have to be complicated. 😉 The only other place we've ever experienced a beer of this quality is the Pro-Bier Werkstatt in Cunewalde/OL. We'll be back!

A cozy inn right on the market square. The rooms are clean and modern. Parking is available in the side streets. Good value for money.

I sat outside, overlooking the town hall, and tried the Helles. A beautifully contoured, fresh beer. It's a shame I had to drive on. I would have also liked to try the Pilsner, the Amber, and the Altbier. More on the topic of beer from small breweries on the Facebook group "BIERernst - Friends of Artisan Brewing Culture."

On a very warm Friday, we stopped by the brewery restaurant for lunch. We were able to sit outside with a lovely view of Naumburg's market square. And we were thirsty. The dark "Kupfer" beer is a very drinkable beer with a pleasant malt flavor. The hops remain somewhat in the background – a beer just the way I like it. The food was also impressive. Good, home-style cooking at a reasonable price. We'd love to come back!

We went to the restaurant. The food itself is good and (perhaps delicious), but the problem for us was... It was ridiculously salty! It was inedible because it was so salty it was bitter. I actually had beef steak, but after two bites, I couldn't eat it anymore because of the salt content. The same thing happened with the cheese spaetzle. Please reduce the salt and then the dishes will be more delicious.

A quaint pub in the city center with its own brewery. The beer took some getting used to, and our table tried all the varieties. The food was good, but unfortunately, they were already setting up for breakfast late at night, which felt like a real eviction. We were then recommended the Kö-PI, for which we were very grateful.

We, two couples, went to your restaurant yesterday for the cherry festival. The waitress gave us the menu, including the drinks list. We all ordered drinks. When the drinks were brought to our tables, we still hadn't agreed on the food choices, and the friendly waitress said she'd be back. When everyone had found a meal, we were told the kitchen was closing for lunch. Surely they could have told us this beforehand? We were very, very disappointed. There were tons of people out and about in town that day, so I can't understand why they were missing out on this business. And the kitchen was closing for lunch. I can only recommend to everyone: find a better restaurant nearby, where there are other options. We will definitely not be going there again. Best regards, René

The beer tastes great. I tried the Hell, the Kupfer Dunkel, and the Alt. It's worth coming back for more. The food was also delicious. When the weather's nice, you can sit outside on the market square. Wonderful!

Whitsunday evening: without a reservation, the friendly staff found a solution for the four of us. Drinks arrived quickly, the food was extremely good; my wife raved about the trout, and the fried chicken was juicy, with a good breading.

Nice, quaint restaurant in the heart of Naumburg. Delicious beer, and the food was good too. Aside from the portion sizes, and the fact that they charge guests €1.50 for a "side change." It's pretty unbelievable that if you want fries instead of potato salad, you have to pay extra for it. (Not for a portion, but just for the change.)

Das Gasthaus liegt direkt am Marktplatz mit großem Aussenbereich. Der Service muss immer etwas laufen und aufpassen nicht überfahren zu werden. Der Service ist engagiert bei der Sache und schnell zur Stelle. Die Küche ist besser als in den meisten Restaurants dieser Art. Genretypisch aber mit abwechslungsreicher Speisekarte. Das Bier ist sehr zu empfehlen. Die Gäste um mich herum waren zufrieden.

The inn and rooms were quaint, clean, and comfortable. The evening staff were super friendly and on the ball, and the food was excellent! Breakfast was disappointing...I arrived shortly before 9:00, and shortly before 9:30, the first roll finally arrived. Bread was also out. I wasn't asked for eggs, but after waiting 20 minutes for a server, I proactively ordered them from the kitchen...Coffee was stale and lukewarm, and no fresh vegetables at all. So, breakfast could definitely be improved... The rest of the food is recommended!

We had the whole of Sunday (May 4th) in Naumburg for a leisurely stroll through the town, including visits to various tourist attractions. 3:00 PM: We stopped at the Brauguthaus on the market square. A friendly waitress greeted us and told us, "There's nothing left to eat this late; we have to prepare for dinner." Fortunately, there are other restaurants that serve hot meals throughout the day. Also haben wir unser ,,Gute-Nacht-Getränk,, woanders eingenommen und sind im Athos freundlich empfangen worden! Im Braugasthaus steht Kundenservice und Gastfreundschaft jedenfalls nicht an 1. Stelle!

Typical brewery restaurant with its own beer production. Drinks arrive very quickly, meals arrive after >40 minutes. "Classics" (= Viennese style schnitzel) with good quality meat with a manageable amount of fried potatoes with lean bacon crumbs, light dip and a side salad. And vegetarian goulash with dumplings, also okay and filling. Food came to the table really hot. The dark "copper" beer was also deliciously tart. When we visited on a Friday evening it was quite loud due to the abundance of guests eager to entertain. Toilets clean.

We stayed at the brewery inn for 3 nights and felt very comfortable. The rooms are lovingly furnished. The breakfast buffet is sufficient, with something for everyone. If you wish, you can have scrambled eggs or fried eggs; the service asked immediately when we sat down at our table. We ate in the inn on three evenings and everything was very tasty. 😀 Highly recommended "Naumburger" Krautkrapfen, paprika chicken, copper beer roast, Schupfnudel pan, oven trout and cheese pätzle. The portions are very generous and also very creatively presented on the plate. There is also home-brewed beer, very tasty. We would love to come back and highly recommend the brewery inn. It is carried out with a lot of passion.

We have already eaten at the Braugasthaus Naumburg several times. Because of the great experience, we recently ate there as a birthday party of 8 people. As always, we received a very friendly welcome and were shown to the ceremoniously decorated table. The drinks were brought quickly. In addition to the normal menu, there were 2 extra dishes on the boards. These extra dishes always change depending on the season/season. All dishes were brought at the same time and were found/praised by everyone to be very tasty. The portions are more than sufficient and the prices are reasonable. The home-brewed beer is a highlight in the city and the food has always tasted very good. The location - right on the market - is a great place, especially in summer, thanks to the beer garden and not to forget the always friendly and attentive service. We continue to come here and can only recommend it.

We went to the brewery with friends for the repeated time. The very attentive and friendly staff made our stay again a pleasant one. Holiday dinner on Boxing Day. Everything perfect, braised goose breast very tender, staff friendly and competent. Unreservedly recommended.

Wir hatten für den 14. Dezember 2024 zwei Plätze im Restaurant bestellt und waren pünktlich um 13 Uhr da. Plätze wurden uns in einem langen Gang angeboten, der jedoch nicht beheizt war. Die Bedienung kam schnell und wir konnten von der umfangreichen Speisekarte bestellen. Das hier gebraute Bier kam schnell und schmeckte sehr gut. Als Speisen bestellten wir Schweinehaxe mit Sauerkraut und böhmischen Knödeln und gebratene Blutwurst mit Kartoffelsalat. Wir hatten großen Hunger und wollten den Nachmittag noch auf dem Weihnachtsmarkt verbringen. Doch: Das Essen kam genau 45 Minuten nach der Bestellung. Das ist eindeutig zu lang! Die Haxe war zu schwach gewürzt, besonders Salz fehlte. Dazu gab es eine Dunkelbier-Sauce, welche den Geschmack des Fleisches völlig unterdrückte. Die Knödel - der Form nach zugekaufte - waren in Fett angebraten! Jeder Tscheche hätte sie zurückgewiesen. Auch das Sauerkraut schmeckte sehr nach ungewürzter Konserve. An der gebratenen Blutwurst war nicht viel falsch zu machen. Doch der Kartoffelsalat war eiskalt. Die Bedienung hatte schon darauf hingewiesen, dass er recht kalt sei, denn er käme direkt aus dem Kühlschrank. Fazit: Unser Essen war miserabel und die Wartezeit einfach nicht akzeptierbar. Es waren nur wenige Gäste anwesend, an zu viel Arbeit kann es wohl nicht gelegen haben. Wir werden dieses Gasthaus nicht wieder aufsuchen und auch andere davan abraten.

Two nights with breakfast directly at the Christmas market and great, varied farms in the old town! The rooms were spacious and well heated. The breakfast had significant reserves! A far too small offer for so many guests, something was always missing, butter, sausage or cheese, the crowning glory: 15 minutes waiting time for rolls...

Nice restaurant right on the market square with 4 different types of home-brewed beer. The food is classic German cuisine at fair prices and is served in sufficient quantities. When the weather is good, the restaurant has an outdoor seating area. All in all recommended.

As it should be - simply great! Today we visited the brewery inn in Naumburg an der Saale, located right on the market. First of all, the “Brauhaus ambience” and the corresponding decoration were convincing. The staff is polite and courteous and is well versed in etiquette. Of course, the hearty meal comes with a freshly tapped beer. The local, tasty beers are produced in our own brewery (in the basement of the building). - It couldn't be better. The food is served to the guests together, NOT separated - as is unfortunately so often the case. All orders - even if it's just a glass of water - are served on a tray. A look into the kitchen revealed it was exceptionally clean. Everything is cleaned at short intervals, even the tiles on the walls and the decorative glasses on the tables. The dishes we ordered were freshly prepared and tasted great. The price/performance ratio was also perfect. The food was only served after the last guest at the table had finished his meal. We also miss this in so many other restaurants. A mother and child came in. The small child was immediately given paper and crayons to fill the waiting time. Many restaurants can probably follow an example. The brewery inn was convincing across the board! - We can only recommend it. We look forward to our next visit to this remarkably good house.

Wir haben ein vegetarisches Biergulasch und einen Salat aus der Vorspeisenkarte gegessen. Dieser Salat war riesig und ausgezeichnet. Und auch das Gulasch mit Kartoffelknödel und Rotkraut war hervorragend! Gerne wieder!

A brewery inn on the market. Great, we wanted to stop here. The outdoor area on the market was well attended and promised an atmospheric evening. The beers and food also looked inviting. Unfortunately I can't say anything about their quality. When we sat down at a free table we were told that there was no more food for us. Hospitality stop. 7:30 p.m. Friday evening. A larger group is expected. It is not yet possible to say when this will change again. The question about a beer was answered in the affirmative. Over the course of the beer, we'll find out again whether the food will work as well. The order has been taken. So far, perhaps understandable and if not good, we were looking forward to our freshly tapped drink. After 5 minutes we were told that they definitely couldn't offer us any more food. We said we would like to have our beer and pay afterwards. After a long 5 minutes, the waiter gave us a stylish plastic lantern instead of the beer. After another 3-5 minutes we got up and signaled to the waiter who was nearby that we were on our way out. He indicated to us that he would now cancel the beers. Conclusion: A brewery that no longer offers food on a Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. due to capacity can still be viewed with understanding. But a brewery that is not able to give you three fresh taps after about 15 minutes of dancing with a plastic lamp is missing its core competency. Therefore only one star. We then had our freshly tapped beer within 5 minutes in the neighboring restaurant - with an outdoor area that was at least as busy - and our food at most 15 minutes later. Chapeau. It was tasty and was a really nice evening :)

Directly on the market square, a restaurant that seemed small at first glance, had a great private area for us as a group of 28 people in the back section of the restaurant. Rustically but comfortably furnished. Praise to the kitchen...we all enjoyed it very much...and praise to the service, who served us all very friendly, professionally and quickly. New hotel with an appealing atmosphere

Restaurant in the tourist epicenter - always a residual risk for the starving tourist. Here, right on the market with the option of sitting outside or in the sparsely seated interior of the inn, friendly and attentive service is served. What came out of the kitchen is better. For just under 15.00 euros, a sporty, small portion of Schupfnudeln in a cheese sauce that didn't overpower the taste wasn't convincing. The sausage salad, on the other hand, was well done and not overly filling. However, we recommend the small, completely sufficient breakfast buffet in the morning between 7:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. for 13.50 euros per person - formerly "the guest."

Very nice location in Naumburg, I'm only reviewing the food in the beer garden or the outside area of ​​the brewery inn on the market square. However, I do not rate the room rental. Service was friendly and courteous, not intrusive. Excellent beer selection, home-brewed draft beer, my favorite was the light beer, second place was the Pilsner, which has a bitter note. Very good carbonation, not too much and not too little. Use the beer board to explore the full range of flavors. The price of the beer is already considerable: 5.50 euros per 0.5 liters. But: home-brewed and therefore okay, in my opinion! Sojanka tasty, very spicy. Knuckle with Bohemian dumplings (note: this is something completely different than the potato dumpling, please google it first if necessary). Two points of criticism: 1. I don't like sauerkraut with caraway because I don't like caraway. Luckily there wasn't too much caraway. 2. In my opinion, the gravy was a finished product. Price was okay at 19 euros and the portion was also good. Nice lighting of the tables. Unfortunately, some guests smoke outside, and if the wind is unfavorable, it is unpleasant. I didn't use the toilet and can't rate it. Overall: 4 out of 5 stars! I give 5 out of 5 points for the beer and service.

Four types of delicious, home-brewed beer. Hell, Pils, Märzen, Kupfer attracted me. A very nice, newer restaurant with a large beer garden on the market square. Very extensive menu on which the typical, hearty brewery specialties, such as pork knuckles, are not missing. The portions are also what you would expect in a brewery. The only thing you can get is a glass of soda 😀. I would be happy to recommend this restaurant.

Based on a recommendation, we were guests here with 6 people on July 13th, 2024 and would not come here a second time and would not recommend it. Right at the beginning we waited a long time to order the first drinks and as a result the drinks came very late. So one thing after another was delayed. Half of our dishes didn't fit; in fact, it was the last thing we were served. Shortly after ordering (2x knuckle) we were informed that there was only 1 left. Ok we switched to roulade goulash with dumplings. The offer of the day was Schnitzel Cordon Bleu with chanterelles. When asked what the filling was like, the answer was: completely normal as you know it with ham and cheese. A cordon bleu with chanterelle filling was served. If only we had known; We wouldn't have ordered it, hence our question before ordering. The dumplings with the beef goulash and the knuckle were nothing more than coal-black pieces of white bread, as hard as concrete. When this was pointed out, people looked strange and immediately gave a 10% discount on the price. And from a trainee, as it turned out. All very questionable. The other dishes weren't tasty either: normal schnitzel not seasoned at all. The pork cheeks were ok but not tasty in combination with red wine-onion sauce and cheese spaetzle. We waited 1 1/2 hours for these dishes. Finally, it should be mentioned that the price-performance ratio here is not right at all.

Excellent home-brewed beers (light, pilsner, märzen, dark) at fair prices. The whole team is extremely friendly and takes care of the guests with commitment. Big praise to the restaurant manager, who does a really good job. The food is typical of the brewery, but the quality is so-so. As soon as my knuckle was at the table, swarms of meat flies and wasps invaded, which doesn't exactly speak for the freshness of the meat. Great, shady garden right next to the market.

Das Brauhaus hat uns spontan am meisten angelacht nachdem wir in Naumburg ankamen. Besonderen Dank möchten wir 4 Herrn Kunath aussprechen, der uns unseren Aufenthalt über den hervorragenden Restaurantbesuch hinaus unvergesslich gemacht hat! Neben dem leckeren Essen und dem tollen Wein war es es ein tolles Serviceteam, dass uns einen schönen Abend bereitet hat. Lieber Herr Kunath vielen lieben Dank für Alles!!!!

Great ambience outside and great beer, service at the limit when it was busy (apparently too few staff), an employee seemed annoyed when asked, the food was repeatedly below average with ambitious prices.

The pork cheeks didn't taste particularly good, especially since I didn't like the side dish. But you will be charged extra for a different choice of side dish. Why do you exclude your guests when other side dishes that are on the menu are requested?

Here you can enjoy home-brewed beer and very tasty dishes. You can also enjoy things on the market square with its beautiful house facades. The staff is friendly and very attentive.
