Zum Elefanten in Saarbrücken

If you walk into a bar and *everyone* is playing football... .. it doesn't really matter if you as a guest don't go unnoticed! Hard-hitting KISS music blasts from the speakers and rocks the game. The loudness of the music should not decrease throughout the evening, even if NDW, Dire Straits, City and 80s are played later. The boss behind the counter has everything on her cell phone and feeds each song individually into the system. Every new song is introduced with a smile. Beer is available on tap or in bottles at the bar. Everything comes quickly and well chilled. The regulars loudly discuss some controversial topic. This is also part of “pub”. There's a savings box hanging on the wall, that wonderful form of financial sociability in bars. The sanitary facilities are impeccable, clean and modern. In general, a lot of emphasis is placed on cleanliness. And how much does the beer cost? Export on tap is available for €2.50 for 0.25 l. Pils for €3. Chairs, tables, counter are in perfect condition. Everything stable. Just like the “elephant collection” made of carved wood that sits atop the glass cabinet. The pub name has to be reflected somewhere. By the way: There is a very impressive selection of whiskey on offer! Maybe not for everyone, but if you accept the pub in its entirety, you will find it in the elephant his temporary home. Not for every day, but for visiting a restaurant to drink beer.😉 However, anyone who expects classic, narrow pub coziness will be disappointed because the Elefant has a fairly large, rather sparsely decorated guest room. But: Still a really good address for good beer and music! As is often the case, it is better to check the opening times listed on Google on a daily basis.

A typical emergency bar... Beer costs €2.50, which is actually still possible these days. However, one of the two waitresses is so busy with herself that she doesn't really fit in behind the counter. Super unfriendly and constantly shows a no-fuck mentality. You can play darts if you don't care about the quality of the arrows. I wouldn't recommend table football because recently you only get one ball per € - but it's not a matter of the operation (but you old thunder witch) I haven't been able to try eating it yet. However, the pub doesn't look like a star kitchen in the exaggerated sense. So it's probably not a loss. The only good thing is the pinball machine and the two slot machines..

There was no more dinner for us that evening (not anywhere else in the area - except for fast food chains) but: The evening was still so cozy and everyone was so (unheard of) friendly and so open-minded and in general... But seriously, it was really worth the experience!! Someday, we'll come back!! Thank you for a really great evening. <3

One of the few real Saarbrücken pubs!

Cozy pub where you can quickly make friends with guests and strike up a conversation. Most of them are local people and regulars. The waitresses are all nice and friendly. The prices for the drinks are cheap. There is also a tribal meal on one day, but you have to order in advance.

Nice conditions, normal prices, nice restaurant

If you meet the right people, beer tastes good everywhere 🫠. You can definitely go for a beer.
