Amazing staff, really helpful with gluten free and dairy free options. Very well done traditional food, we had the chicken schnitzel and the potatoes with green sauce and eggs. The green sauce (grune soße) was so delicious, nothing like we’ve had before! And we tried the apfelwien, which was super refreshing and went well with dinner. Really recommend trying this place for dinner! Great atmosphere and great food. Lots of vegan, gluten free options!! Love love love

We were there in a larger group. One person wanted to spend the first two rounds and paid for them as soon as he finished drinking. But the group itself continued to order it. The service staff then pulled the person out and pointed out the missing tip. Unfortunately, this also happened a second time. The desire to stay in the suburbs faded and we left. Of course without paying a tip. impudence.

we went to eat in this typical place recommended to us by two local ladies, a good experience. considering the restaurant was full we waited 30-40 minutes before the food arrived, but on the other hand we asked for bread and they gave it to us for free because we had waited earlier. All schnitzel variations with vegan meat substitutes are possible and simply great! It's super filling and tastes really good. Sometimes you have to wait a little longer for your food, but it's worth it.

This goes on our list of best apple wine places. The apple wine is not only good, it also happens to be to my taste. The food is solid, and still decently priced. Big plus for different sizes of main dishes, extra plus for the possibility to order a Schnitzel without breading. Service very nice, ambience lively and friendly. A few tourists/Messebesucher, but I feel we didn't disturb the general feel of the place too much.

What can I say? Met with colleagues there and it was getting very late. So just great!

Nice, authentic Frankfurt apple wine bar. The selection of dishes is large. There are small dishes that are good to have in between or later with cider and a quite good selection of hearty larger dishes. The schnitzel with green sauce was good. The fried potatoes are most likely a finished product. The mashed potatoes are better - I had that with the beef liver, which was very good. Unfortunately there is only a small slice of bread with the hand cheese. Vegan alternatives are also available. The salads are quite generous and good for sharing.

Always recommended. Great and prompt service, the best Frankfurter schnitzel and a super clean toilet. We'll keep coming back, we promise and keep it up. 👍

The service was very attentive and also quick. We were there in November and so I can only rate the interior ambience, which can best be described as simple and rustic. The food was okay, i.e. prepared and then heated. That didn't detract from Schäufele, on the contrary. The apple cider is not my cup of tea at all, as it is very sour and has a special taste. But that's a matter of taste, especially when it comes to cider. We'd love to come back when it's time for the outdoor area.

Quaint Äbbelwoik pub with decent food at good prices. Unfortunately, beer is only KöPi from the bottle, but of course it's not exactly the specialty. Schnaps/loquat very fluffy, I definitely can't recommend it. The waitress was “ok” in the sense of rustic, but at some point she obviously didn't feel like it anymore after the shop had noticeably emptied and kept scurrying past our table with her head turned away. Placing the last drink order was only possible after a lot of waving and shouting.

Rustic, long-established Frankfurt apple winery. Also called Äppelwoi. It's easy to miss the entrance. Inside, the decor is quaint and cozy. The service was friendly and quick at our table. The Äppler (apple cider) was incredibly tasty. And the food was amazing. Very tasty and lots of it. You'll definitely feel full and it tastes good too. The restaurant and toilets are clean. We were definitely not there for the last time. If you want to spontaneously stop by there alone, you might be in luck. If you want to go there with several people, you must definitely call and reserve in advance.

Would have loved to eat here again but was turned away by the rudest server. A group four arrived around 1930, plenty of open tables with no reservations signs on them, only one did. Asked a female server if we cod be seated and was very angrily told no am we must have a reservation. Saying she was rude is an understatement. I have never been treated so poorly before at a restaurant. I would suggest trying somewhere else.

I would like to give it 4 stars because the food was really good, the portions were generous and the cider was a treat. If only it wasn't for this bad service. We were in such a bad mood that it ruined our evening to a large extent. Too bad!

we came straight here upon arriving in Frankfurt based on a few recommendations from friends. It was beyond all of our expectations! The server (Salem) was so friendly and accommodating to us even though we didn’t speak German. She gave us amazing recommendations to what to order. I got the big ass meat plate (sachsenhaußen) and I’m so happy! so delicious!!! Also 2 of us were Vegan and LOVED the vegan schnitzel! Will come back every time we are in Frankfurt :)

My parents and I had a wonderful dinner here. As vegetarians we really appreciated the opportunity to try vegetarian schnitzel, as well as classics like spaetzle. Our waitress, Salem, was super helpful and spoke great English - she helped recommend items to us and answered all our questions. Every dish we received was delicious! We ate every last bit on our plates. We had: - vegan schnitzel - vegetarian spaetzle - vegetarian potato soup - side salads (nice light dressing!) - and sauerkraut The environment here feels very local and traditional - just what we wanted as visitors to Frankfurt. Although we did see other visitors, we felt like we were in a local place. We would gladly eat here again and would highly recommend it to others! Credit card payment is accepted here.

Food was average. They didn't have mayonnaise but the waiter suggested garlic sauce. Didn't told that it was €3,20(!!) per portion. Not a nice surprise...

Went to Eichkatzerl for the first time today and found it really rustic here. The food was great (Frankfurter-style schnitzel and beef liver with mashed potatoes). The service was super nice, everything was perfect. There was nothing to complain about, we would be happy to come back. Of course it was a bit loud, but that's part of it.

Everything we tried here was delicious! They have a several vegetarian options and some great vegan options including schnitzel with green sauce and potatoes. Fantastic sauerkraut and apfelwein too! Seems to be a popular spot with the locals. We had very friendly service as a group of Americans. Atmosphere is cozy and comfortable.

Classic cider bar. We were lucky enough to spend probably the last summer evening sitting out there yesterday. Service is good, you are asked directly if you would like a bemble with a water bottle for the table. The waiter also sold me the dessert, but it was really delicious. The schnitzel with green sauce is on top, a few fried potatoes are hidden under the schnitzel. Everyone enjoyed it very much. Card payment possible.

Excellent atmosphere, we were 4 friends in the outer part under a kind of tent at a large table shared with 4 other people, but everything was perfect. The food was very good and large, the beer was very good and the apfelwein was good, it could have been colder. They served us quickly but it took a little while to even bring the ticket, everything else was very good.

Good traditional German Food. We came for the Vegetarian Schnitzel with Green Sauce (Grüner Soße) & also tried Frankfurter Handkäse. Vegetarian Schnitzel was so yummy 😋— crispy but not greasy. Green Sauce paired well with it. (FYI: Best Green Sauce, of 3 which we tried, was at Da Heim in Kleinmarkthalle. Their Schnitzel was also excellent, but they don’t have Vegetarian Schnitzel.) As for Handkäse, they aren’t for me, but I was glad I tried them since they are a Frankfurt specialty. Servers were friendly & food came quickly for us. This is a casual restaurant. Expect to share your table with strangers. We had a great conversation with our tablemate. He had just come from Berlin.

We discussed for a long time whether we should go to Dauth Scheider or Eichkatzerl. Due to Mr. Scheider's deficiencies identified by the GA, we went to Mr. Eichkatzerl. I would give the food a three. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. The real shock was when we unfortunately discovered that the Frankfurt Schnitzel doesn't come with a side salad. We then accidentally bought one to go with it, it was ok, but no more.

Nice apple winery with a beautiful garden, but also a beautiful interior. What is particularly special here is that there is also a vegan schnitzel with vegan green sauce. So also what kind of rounds where a vegan is there 👍😊 The service was nice and mostly quite quick.

I had the Viennese style schnitzel here and I can only say that it was a long time ago that I was impressed with the taste and quality of the schnitzel. Only the fried potatoes with it were a bit too dark, but the prices are very fair and the service is good Excellent. All in all, I can definitely recommend this store.

Sehr, sehr unfreundliche und unhöfliche Auskunft einer Mitarbeiterin, als wir müde, hungrig und durstig 10 Minuten vor der Öffnungszeit im Hofgarten standen und anfragten, ob man sich schon setzen könnte. Die barsche und sehr unverschämt ausgesprochene Antwort war : "Nein, was meinen Sie warum das Tor zum Garten noch nicht weit offen stand" Wohlgemerkt, das Tor war nur angelehnt und auch nicht verschlossen!! Wir sind dann sehr verärgert weitergezogen zum Kanonesteppel in Sachsenhausen und wurden dort überaus freundlich und einladend behandelt. Sehr charmante Bedienung dort, Essen Preis/Leistung hervorragend.

Some time ago I was a guest at this restaurant with the VEGAN STAMMTISCH FRANKFURT. Personally, the atmosphere when eating is particularly important to me and this location immediately appealed to me - very rustic and cozy, typical of a Frankfurt Ebbelwoiwirtschaft. Back then I decided on the vegan Frankfurter Schnitzel with semolina sauce and it was simply delicious! I can definitely recommend this restaurant, the food and the whole atmosphere.

Traditional "Frankfurter Küche" with a good variety of dishes. A must is to get a Bembel which is a jug filled with Apple wine to share. I can recommend the Appetizer plate which gives you a great idea of a typical German evening meal!

Were served friendly. But we got 2 water pipes at the table that weren't tasty and we paid €40 for 2 pipes. Really outrageous. Although attempts were made to improve it.

When it's full, and it often is (DEFINITELY MAKE A RESERVATION!), it can get pretty loud. That's just the way it is and you can't change it. The food is great and any waiting time is worth it. The “apple wine” is very drinkable straight, but can also be served with sparkling water (if too strong). In short, a visit is definitely recommended 👍🏼

Don't understand the reviews. Food was quite good, but not outstanding. The service was worst last night! Very unfriendly staff! You had the impression that you were disturbing the local waitresses. They were also very stroppy.

Unfortunately our experience wasn't particularly nice. The waitress was incredibly rude from second. The food came wrong and when we pointed it out the plate was snatched away from us without comment. In the end I asked you about it but unfortunately I didn't get an answer as to what this mood was about. Even the mediocre food doesn't make the experience any better.

This is a typical Frankfurt pub with Appelwoi and hearty food. When we attempted to make a reservation, we were told twice that we should just show up and try our luck. That worked well too. If you are not looking for a place for quiet, gentle conversations, but can tolerate a certain level of noise, this is exactly the right place to spend a nice evening. However, this also depends very much on the time of day.
