The service, food, prices, and atmosphere are all great. I highly recommend it. The English menu also includes detailed descriptions of Frankfurt's traditional dishes and drinks, which shows their love for traditional culture. It's a popular local restaurant and often fills up with reservations, so if you don't have one, I recommend going right after opening. The only problem is that every time the toilet door opens, there's a strong smell of toilet air freshener. Europeans might not mind it, but for Japanese people, it's a nasty stench and quite strong.

Beautiful restaurant with a pub-like feel. Superb and friendly service. They didn't seem annoyed or unfriendly. The food was really good. Excellent value for money. I had the "Schneegestöber" starter and the main course of boiled ribs with sauerkraut and fried potatoes. I can highly recommend both. The schnitzel dish was also excellent; what I saw and was able to taste with my robber's fork was truly delicious. The schnitzel was cooked to perfection, crispy and juicy at the same time! Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of the food. So, hurry over and see for yourself! 💪👌

We were advised about this place by the hotel.consierge. This was a find, it's a local Applewine bar. Yes it does sell beer too in bottles. Food was good, freshly made and worth the wait. Portion sizes are generous, but there is a small portion menu too, but it is also a good plateful The place is quaint, with painted murals of local.life on the walls. Be prepared to share a table with strangers, they will become good company. We came back as a group three days later on a Monday evening The place was bouncing. Food was great, atmosphere was superb. Be prepared to wait for a table, it is worth it.

Nice German restaurant in a central area of ​​Frankfurt. Large portions and very reasonable prices. The schnitzel is a must, especially the one with the green sauce. Definitely try the pork knuckle, well-cooked and crispy. We visited it every night of our stay. I highly recommend it.

A rustic, authentic apple wine restaurant! Frankfurter Schnauze is the order of the day. The food is excellent, especially the vegan Frankfurter Grie Soß (green sauce) with "schnitzel" is a dream. Highly recommended anytime. Reservations are required inside, though!

We always enjoy coming here. Whether large or small schnitzels – the quality is top-notch and the selection is perfect. Every schnitzel can also be prepared as a chicken schnitzel upon request. The apple wine is delicious, and the service is always fast and friendly. The prices are significantly lower than those in the surrounding area – proof that quality doesn't have to be expensive. I've eaten here several times. The schnitzels are very large and flavorful. My tip: the onion schnitzel with extra green sauce. I like the main dining room best. I find the side room a bit bare. It's good that they also offer vegan schnitzels. The service is friendly and quick, and the ambiance is typical of a Frankfurt apple wine pub.

Really tasty schnitzel, I had mine with onions and roast potatoes and my daughter had cranberries and cheese on hers. We went early so didn't need to book but quite a few tables were reserved from 730pm. We also had the smaller portion size which actually was the right size for us and the schnitzel was a large one. Would recommend this restaurant as a typical Frankfurt food restaurant.

We were told to drop in spontaneously for a table because they don't accept reservations. Everything was still available inside, but they said they couldn't keep up with the service. On June 27, 2025, we were at the Eichkatzerl with 12 people. It was a hot day, and we were hoping to cool off and enjoy a cold Äppler. We were deeply disappointed. The Äppelwoi was lukewarm and only drinkable with well-chilled mineral water. We won't be visiting this restaurant on hot days again; this is inexcusable, especially since they couldn't even help with ice cubes. Simply unprofessional...

Whenever I come to Frankfurt, I eat here with friends—at what feels like friends. The service is out of this world, and the food is second to none.

A lovely apple wine bar. The Frankfurt schnitzel was very tasty, and they offer it in large and small sizes. The large really is large and just what you need after a day in Frankfurt. Mondays are schnitzel days, which makes it doubly worthwhile.

A very quaint restaurant with a beer garden and long benches inside. They serve traditional Frankfurt dishes here, although nothing really blew me away. But everyone has different tastes. I can imagine other people being really happy here. The wait was long, even though it wasn't that busy at first. And the prices were quite high, but that's probably the case everywhere these days. I thought it was okay, but I'd probably try something else next time.

Super quaint and a true Frankfurt institution. Every Monday, they have schnitzel day for a fair price. A definite recommendation is the baked schnitzel with feta cheese and cranberries. But all the other dishes are delicious, too, especially the green sauce, which is one of the best in Frankfurt. A definite recommendation.

Food was average. They didn't have mayonnaise but the waiter suggested garlic sauce. Didn't told that it was €3,20(!!) per portion. Not a nice surprise...

I went to dinner with a friend who was visiting Frankfurt. We went without a reservation, but the service was very kind. We ordered Frankfurter Schnittstelle, and the Grüne Soße was delicious 😋. Great value for money 👌 I recommend it if you're looking for some typical Frankfurt food. And of course, we drank Apfelwein 😁

An authentic German restaurant with fast and efficient service. I had the best schnitzel of my life here – golden, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, and even a small portion was quite enough. The potato side dish was cooked perfectly – crispy on the outside and tender in the middle. The prices were a pleasant surprise – for reasonable money you get a real traditional German dinner without any frills. An ideal place to get acquainted with classic German cuisine. I recommend it to anyone who appreciates simple but masterfully prepared dishes.

We ate here with colleagues from the company. As someone who's not from Hesse, I found it very cozy, even though after a few hours your bottom and back can start to hurt on the wooden benches. Otherwise, the food was delicious. If you're really hungry, go for the larger portion. Unfortunately, I had the small one and wasn't full, so I didn't think the price was particularly reasonable. A plus point for the apple wine, which came with lemonade and water. Good price for a 5- or 7-liter Bembel. We'll be back again.

Super nice. Was there with a group of 18 people from all over Germany. I actually haven't been able to introduce cider to everyone. Have they missed something? But the green sauce. It was really well received. Almost all of them didn't know. The schnitzels are offered in large and small sizes. Big is really big. Unfortunately I didn't make it. Yesterday was really good. Ribs, cabbage and bread for 12.80 was delicious. Bembel is also delicious pure or with water. Atmosphere with 20 people was also delicious. I think we'll come back despite the noise.

So the food is creative and good. Medlar schnitzel is something completely new. Green sauce is great. It's also good that you can order schnitzel dishes large and small. Service is quick and friendly with relaxed sayings along the way. Ambience assessment only based on the inner courtyard/outside: fits - you sit okay on the beer tent set - it's enough. I wasn't inside, next time it will count towards the rating.

It's hard to find vegetarian schnitzel at all and the one served here is excellent. The host, atmosphere and food were all perfect. English menus are available. It was a highlight of our trip.

Very nice and traditional place, good prices, unfortunately the service was very rude! The waitress demanded a tip (and in the end she got it because she told us she didn't have change in cash and we couldn't pay with a card under 15€) and she kicked us out of the place rudely! She kept asking us why we shouldn't have left a tip and in the end she even told us to go to hell! If you want the tip to be mandatory then write it at the entrance or on the menu, so people can decide whether to come or not... Not recommended because of the service rudeness! And it's not the first review I've read that complains about rudeness.

Amazing staff, really helpful with gluten free and dairy free options. Very well done traditional food, we had the chicken schnitzel and the potatoes with green sauce and eggs. The green sauce (grune soße) was so delicious, nothing like we’ve had before! And we tried the apfelwien, which was super refreshing and went well with dinner. Really recommend trying this place for dinner! Great atmosphere and great food. Lots of vegan, gluten free options!! Love love love

We were there in a larger group. One person wanted to spend the first two rounds and paid for them as soon as he finished drinking. But the group itself continued to order it. The service staff then pulled the person out and pointed out the missing tip. Unfortunately, this also happened a second time. The desire to stay in the suburbs faded and we left. we went to eat in this typical place recommended to us by two local ladies, a good experience. considering the restaurant was full we waited 30-40 minutes before the food arrived, but on the other hand we asked for bread and they gave it to us for free because we had waited earlier. All schnitzel variations with vegan meat substitutes are possible and simply great! It's super filling and tastes really good. Sometimes you have to wait a little longer for your food, but it's worth it.

This goes on our list of best apple wine places. The apple wine is not only good, it also happens to be to my taste. The food is solid, and still decently priced. Big plus for different sizes of main dishes, extra plus for the possibility to order a Schnitzel without breading. Service very nice, ambience lively and friendly. A few tourists/Messebesucher, but I feel we didn't disturb the general feel of the place too much.

Nice, authentic Frankfurt apple wine bar. The selection of dishes is large. There are small dishes that are good to have in between or later with cider and a quite good selection of hearty larger dishes. The schnitzel with green sauce was good. The fried potatoes are most likely a finished product. The mashed potatoes are better - I had that with the beef liver, which was very good. Unfortunately there is only a small slice of bread with the hand cheese. Vegan alternatives are also available. The salads are quite generous and good for sharing.

The service was very attentive and also quick. We were there in November and so I can only rate the interior ambience, which can best be described as simple and rustic. The food was okay, i.e. prepared and then heated. That didn't detract from Schäufele, on the contrary. The apple cider is not my cup of tea at all, as it is very sour and has a special taste. But that's a matter of taste, especially when it comes to cider. We'd love to come back when it's time for the outdoor area.

Quaint Äbbelwoik pub with decent food at good prices. Unfortunately, beer is only KöPi from the bottle, but of course it's not exactly the specialty. Schnaps/loquat very fluffy, I definitely can't recommend it. The waitress was “ok” in the sense of rustic, but at some point she obviously didn't feel like it anymore after the shop had noticeably emptied and kept scurrying past our table with her head turned away. Placing the last drink order was only possible after a lot of waving and shouting.

Rustic, long-established Frankfurt apple winery. Also called Äppelwoi. It's easy to miss the entrance. Inside, the decor is quaint and cozy. The service was friendly and quick at our table. The Äppler (apple cider) was incredibly tasty. And the food was amazing. Very tasty and lots of it. You'll definitely feel full and it tastes good too. The restaurant and toilets are clean. We were definitely not there for the last time. If you want to spontaneously stop by there alone, you might be in luck. If you want to go there with several people, you must definitely call and reserve in advance.
