We were there for lunch with relatives on Christmas Day. Very nice restaurant and cozy interior, view of Tiergärtnertorplatz and great, friendly staff. We immediately felt comfortable and welcome! The food was also very good, in particular you can tell that the dishes are completely prepared and come to the table freshly cooked. The fact that there are smaller portions for seniors or children was also very positive. In short, keep it up, we'll be happy to come back!

Cute location, delicious food, extremely fast service. Price performance is very good. It was amazing how quickly both the drinks and the food could be brought to the table. Franconian bratwurst and cheese spaetzle were excellent. We felt very comfortable.

Went with 7 people. there. Service was super fast. But every meal, including soups, was lukewarm at best. Tastes good, portions rather small. Photo was the XL version of the Schäufferle (with surcharge)

El servicio era muy amable y atento, el ambiente se sentía auténtico y muy alemán. Un pequeño edificio estrecho tradicional lindo en 3 plantas. El Pike Perch y el Schäufele tirado eran deliciosos. Sin duda volvería la próxima vez que estemos en Nuremberg. A pesar de Trip Advisor diciendo cerrado temporalmente, está muy abierto

We were guests for dinner after the Christmas market (reservation is highly recommended!). The food was great, well above expectations and much better than almost all pubs. It was nicely presented and not this mass processing. The service was also great.

We came just after 20:00 on a saturday, in the hope some people would be done with dinner. Lucky enough a table had just come free. But very popular and busy place for sure. Service was decent. Drinks were good. Food was okay. I've been here 6 years earlier , but I remember a way better Schnitzel and kartoffelsalat. This was a bit mediocre for German standards in my opinion. Bit dry Schnitzel, kartoffelsalat lacked taste. Definitely not bad though.

Three of us were there on December 18th, 2024 and had reserved a table for 6:30 p.m. But we came earlier because it happened. We ordered 3 beers, 0.5 liters each. 2 light and 1 precious. When the beer arrived you could clearly see that the noble didn't contain anywhere near 0.5 liters. I put the beers next to each other and you could see it clearly. I complained about this to the waitress. It was then said: you shouldn't fill the glasses so full. That would cause trouble with the brewery. The other 2 glasses would be far too full. The brewery shouldn't see that. - Well, I find that a bit strange. The food (Sauerbraten / Schnitzel / Kässpätzle) were good.

Beautiful building from the outside. Sitting inside is rather uncomfortable. The portions are way too small. Based on our feedback, this was already known. It's a shame that feedback isn't being responded to. Afterwards we had to get something to eat somewhere else.

A very nice and cozy restaurant in a small half-timbered house. The food was great and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Despite the Christmas market and the high number of visitors, we were treated excellently and are very satisfied.

One of my favorite German restaurants of this trip! The cheese spatzel was sooooo good. Loved the ambiance and the view of the castle wall in our little dining nook. Would recommend. Good wine too! Big servings, wish i could have tried everything!

Friendly staff, authentic dishes. We enjoyed the pulled pork and meat patty dishes. Both with mashed potatoes and delicious gravy/sauce.

The goulash dish and raclette mashed potatoes were amazing. This is a place we’ll definitely visit again and recommend to our friends visiting Nuremberg.

We went there spontaneously yesterday and we were given a very friendly welcome. Unfortunately we didn't have a table reserved, but despite the house being fully booked they still managed to find a free place for us. The food was very tasty and the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. If you are in Nuremberg, we definitely recommend stopping here. Kind regards Robin and Sabine

We were at the Albrecht Dürer Haus during Advent and as a snack we ordered the Mini Schäuferle with two potato dumplings and cabbage and 6 Nuremberger Bratwärscht with cabbage. What can I say...everything was excellent. Augustiner Edelstoff on tap. A very attentive waiter. Wonderfully furnished dining rooms in historical walls.

The food is excellent. The unbeatable treatment; They speak English and try to make themselves understood well.

We recently had dinner there, the first time by the way, and I thought it was great. Very nice atmosphere, very nice staff, and great food (Sauerbraten) was bomb. Keep it up.

The food here is fantastic I would describe it as really good bistro dining, so you will.not be disappointed. I had the goulash which was very tasty. The service is excellent and we enjoyed a few beers before eating. The restaurant is cosy and a good choice to eat.

A nice smaller restaurant in the center of the historic city. Smaller terrace, ground floor bar and some raised seating. More space, more tables on the 1st floor. Interesting interior. Pleasant service. Food tasty.

Good food at moderate prices. The pretzel pizza is particularly unusual and recommended. The ambience is also very nice with the low ceilings in the half-timbered house.

A visit to Nuremberg always means going to the Albrecht Dürer House! The food and service are a 10/10 every time. For me, the restaurant is one of the best in the city!

Das schlechteste Essen in der Altstadt, kleine Portion und teuer. Auf keinen Fall ist der Apfelstrudel mit Vanillesoße und Sahne zu bestellen. Ein Stück geschmacklosen Apfelstrudel mit einem !!! Spritzer kalter fertig Vanillesoße -Alles fertig gekauft - für 9,90€ - ! Einfach frech. Es wurden auch an Nachbartischen essen zurückgelassen.

Excellent food and views of the front square. We sat outdoors and was a bit chilly but they provided blankets. Service was great and the food was absolutely delicious. They have indoors seating as well. Highly highly recommend this restaurant and if possible sit outdoors to enjoy the views.

Rarely has a restaurant impressed me as much as this one. From the first moment I felt welcome here - the ambience is stylish and cozy, with a warm atmosphere that immediately conveys a feeling of well-being. The attention to detail in the furnishings and, above all, the friendly staff (!!!) make the stay particularly pleasant. Now to the food. What's on the table here is simply outstanding. The menu is creative and varied, with seasonal specialties and a great selection. I had the Schäuferle. It was a masterpiece in itself, perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented. The selection of drinks is also remarkable. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and always willing to answer questions and make recommendations. Conclusion: This restaurant is a true gem in Nuremberg and a must for everyone. I can only warmly recommend it - the cooking here is made with heart and passion and you can taste it in every bite. Rustic place at the tourist hotspot in the middle of Nuremberg. And then this: delicious food at unexpectedly normal prices. Great atmosphere, a really worthwhile visit.

absolutely brilliant meals of traditional local food. when you walk into a restaurant and it just smells really nice right away, your sensory expectations are dialed up. but this place delivers on the promises. simple but great dishes served fast and friendly

The best meal at the end of 3 days in Nuremberg: Pulled Schäufele with mashed potatoes and Nuremberg bratwursts with sauerkraut and potato salad can be recommended without hesitation, price-performance ratio is right; and you can never go wrong with an Augustinian.

What can I say 🤗 My favorite restaurant in Nuremberg. I will be your guest at least once a month, probably more. Very nice and attentive staff who remain relaxed even when there is a lot of business. I can recommend everything on the menu as it is very tasty. Please keep it up.

Delicious food, but the price is right on the limit because the portions aren't too big. The food is a little different to the typical Franconian standard food that you get in all the restaurants around it. A little more vegetarian selection would be nice. Otherwise, you can sit outside and inside very nicely and receive friendly service.

Super delicious food and nice service

Yesterday, October 6th, 2024, we went on an excursion to the Franconian metropolis and reserved our table by phone a few days in advance. I felt very comfortable when we made the reservation. As an ex-Nuremberger, I knew where we had to go, and the house is already visible from afar. When we arrived we were greeted with a very friendly welcome, but I didn't expect anything else. The restaurant is rustic Franconian and definitely lives up to the name of the restaurant. The facility is nice over 3 floors. My only point of criticism here is that the plant on the table was left drying rather carelessly. If plant, please maintain. The restaurant doesn't seem to be barrier-free, which could perhaps be mentioned on the homepage, unless it's already there and I missed it. The staff, young and attentive, were extremely friendly and were there very quickly. The selection of drinks and food is completely sufficient and not overly overloaded like elsewhere. Drinks and food came pretty quickly and were great, and also great value for money - around €45 for two including tip, so around €20 per person. Absolutely ok for the location, last but not least the food was really tasty and the restaurant and the staff were great. I think the ordering function via QR code to order from the staff is great. Unfortunately I wasn't allowed to try it out because the rest of the group wanted to order “classic”. But I can imagine that, especially guests who are in a bit of a hurry (e.g. lunch break), could reduce the waiting time here. However, the waiting time for the classic order wasn't really worth it. If we take a trip to Nuremberg again, I will make a reservation and stop here again.

A restaurant opposite the Dürerhaus, hence the name. The main guest room is on the first floor (nice view of the square if you sit by the window). The menu mainly offers the usual Franconian specialties - we had the “Fränkische Bratwürste”, we liked it.

Pintoresco restaurante bávaro bajo la sombra del castillo. Este restaurante estrecho sirve comida en 3 plantas. Las opciones veganas fueron excelentes. El carpaccio de remolacha lo disfrutó mi esposa y el resto de nuestra fiesta se metió en los chapuzones y el pan local. La sartén de repollo y calabaza con patatas fue fantástica y algo que intentaré replicar en casa.

The schnitzel in the schnitzel sandwich was not fresh. Pre-fried/fried and then put on top from the stock. Cold. Disappointing.

I'm not a fan of Augustiner beer, but it's nice to sit here, the service is very friendly and there's something good to eat, such as bratwurst lasagna. Update: After the tenant change in 2024 - due to the moon prices - unfortunately no longer recommended. It almost hits you hard. The bratwurst lasagna is no longer available either.

Tourist trick? I just ordered a quick, small beer and was given water. What I naively thought was a nice “local” gesture was of course not. This was listed when I paid - the fun cost me 6.50 euros. When I confronted the waiter, they said I had ordered it... It's a shame, because it's very rustic inside and the outside area has a nice view.

We (8 people) had reserved a table...unfortunately we couldn't be there on time. It was from the restaurant tel. requested...we were missed there. The conversation was friendly. We all enjoyed the food, a variety of dishes, and were served in a friendly manner.

Great restaurant, great beer, great food and super service !

At lunchtime we found a shady spot with a beautiful view. We were served quickly and the food came very quickly. We were also immediately offered a water bowl for our dog. We all really enjoyed it!

Great selection of dishes. Many vegan and vegetarian options (not just cheese spaetzle or salad, as is usual in Franconian restaurants). Service was excellent, attentive, friendly and accommodating.

We hebben dit restaurant op een weekdag bezocht met plaats op het terras. We hebben de nurnberger worsten en de zalmforel genomen. Desondanks de voeding lekker was, waren de porties zeer klein. Ik denk niet dan er 100 gr.zalm op vel is gegeven ( +20 euro!!). De 6 mini worsten op een dun laagje aardappelsalade max 150 gram. Gelukkig was de MC Donalds met de tram niet veraf. Lekkere gerechten, maar met honger van de tafel...géén aanrader voor goede eters.

Locale tipico con piatti straordinari e gustosi. Molto gentili i proprietari. E' un posto accogliente ed è molto curato l'interno del locale. Torneremo sicuramente.

We recently visited the restaurant near the Albrecht Dürer House in Nuremberg. Unfortunately, our experience wasn't quite as expected. The staff was a bit reserved and sometimes seemed less accommodating than one would have liked. The price-performance ratio was just acceptable, but unfortunately the taste of the food didn't blow us away. It was OK, but nothing special. What was particularly disappointing, however, was that there was no regional beer, only Augustiner beer. We would have liked a regional beer for a restaurant in Nuremberg and were therefore disappointed that they only chose a large Commerz beer. Overall our visit was okay, but there is definitely room for improvement.

Waiters are instructed not to fill beers at the filling line. This information was given to us by the waitress after a complaint. Whether this is a misdemeanor or a criminal offense should be decided by someone else... It used to be a great location, but it hasn't been there since the ownership changed. I can only say: Better go somewhere else...

Nous y sommes allés 2 fois pendant notre séjour tellement nous nous sommes régalés la première fois. Les produits sont frais et bien préparés. Nous nous sommes régalés avec le poisson et les salades. Leur soupe de concombre est délicieuse également. Les bretzels pizzas en revanche... bof. Terrasse qui accepte les chiens, service efficace et professionnel. Situation idéale au pied du château, le soir beaucoup d'ambiance.

Nice service, but there was a baked fly in my overbaked Schnitzel… and the waiter took it out of my plate very naturally and brought an other plate of food… But he was very kind. So better to drink than eat here…

Very good food. We had the nuremberg sausages which were excellent and the spatzle was ok (had better). Overall a good lunch. A bot crowded inside and no air conditioning or fan so seating area was quite warm.

Very nice restaurant at the foot of Nuremberg Castle. The service is very attentive and no journey is too far for them. You can expect local Franconian cuisine at reasonable prices. A beer is always recommended on hot summer days. Gladly again 👌

Brilliant. It was my last meal in the city and it was a success. We ate inside although it was a bit hot. The place is very cozy, distributed over several floors. The exquisite food. Traditional mix with more modern touches. The young and attentive service. It was the only place where the waiter, when giving the option to tip, said that it was obviously voluntary. For that reason alone he already took a tip. They accept payment by card. They have high chairs but be careful if you go with a car because there are non-stop stairs.

We honestly didn’t try much but the “Munich” pretzel pizza we had was delicious. It had a sour cream mustard sauce with white sausage, onions, and lettuce. And tripadvisor says this place is temporaily closed but it’s definitely open. The service was great, check it out!

Sehr schöne Lage mit Außenterasse und uriger Gaststube. Leider ist das Essen nicht der Knüller. Qualität durchschnittlich und Portionen absolut winzig. Schade, auch an so einem Touristen-Standort wäre etwas mehr Engagement in der Küche wünschenswert.

I have little understanding why vegetarians are being ripped off like this. €18.90 for a veggie paprika goulash (a few spaetzle with tomato sauce) & therefore more expensive than the pulled-Schäufele (€15.50). Morally questionable.

We only had a small meal. A wild herb salad, a horseradish soup with pike-perch, a butter board and Augustiner dark beer. Everything is incredibly good. A very friendly service. We would like to come again.
