Quaint, cozy atmosphere. The main dining room is on the first floor of a narrow half-timbered house, directly below the Imperial Castle. The pulled pork shoulder and Nuremberg sausages were delicious. Beer at €4.60 for 0.5l is also reasonable, especially considering the location. Unfortunately, they don't have any Nuremberg beer, only Augustiner from Munich.

As first-time travelers to Europe, this was our first real German meal and it absolutely did not disappoint. We were supposed to have an entire afternoon and overnight in Nuremberg, but an unexpected issue caused us to only have a few hours there. So, having a wonderful dining experience was all the more special to us. The käsespätzle and Franconian sausages were on point and the potato salad and sauerkraut were delicious. We also enjoyed their wonderful Oktoberfest beer. The service was good and the atmosphere was superb. We sat upstairs and felt like we had stepped back in time with the decor and surroundings. We hope to return to Nuremberg to have that longer stay we had hoped for, and, when we do, we would love to return to this restaurant.

We discovered the restaurant in this wonderful historic building quite by chance on our way back from the castle and reserved a table for the evening at the counter during lunchtime. Upon arriving in the evening, it wasn't immediately clear whether or how our reservation had been honored. For example, we were asked if less than an hour would be sufficient (which would have meant 8:00 PM, suggesting that new reservations would be made by then; in fact, by 8:15 PM, a third of the tables in the restaurant were already empty). Only after I said that we would prefer to wait a little longer and return later until a table became available was it suddenly no problem to get a seat in the truly lovely and cozy dining room on the second floor. The menu is sufficiently large and offers mostly Franconian specialties. We had beetroot dumplings with chestnut filling on truffle cream and mushrooms, as well as pulled pork shoulder on mashed potatoes or beer and onion cream, both very tasty, although there were a few small pieces of potato in the mash. I found the very short wait for the food somewhat annoying; we'd barely taken our first sip of beer when the food was already on the table. I think a wait of at least 15 minutes is reasonable to allow time to settle in and enjoy the atmosphere. It also gives me peace of mind knowing the food hasn't simply been reheated. It's also worth mentioning that the price-performance ratio here is absolutely excellent!

Highly recommended for vegan/plant-based diets. The duck was absolutely fantastic – crispy on the outside, crunchy on the inside, stuffed with shredded oyster mushrooms – and the gravy with the dumpling and red cabbage tasted truly homemade! The atmosphere was beautiful, a multi-story house adorned with paintings by the famous Nuremberg artist Albrecht Dürer. Despite the many floors and (partially) steep stairs, the service was very accommodating and friendly. Meat eaters will also find something to their liking (no picture as my posts focus on vegan discoveries). Next time we'll try the vegan pretzel pizza! 😋🤤

The food was absolutely delicious. The duck and the pork shoulder were incredibly tender and soft. The side dishes were also fantastic and had a lovely Christmassy touch, perfect for the holiday season. I especially want to commend Brooke's friendliness. He was incredibly kind, very attentive, and always had a smile on his face!

A beautifully furnished traditional restaurant right next to the castle. The staff is very friendly and climbs quite a few stairs each day, as the bar is on the ground floor and the main dining area is on the first floor. It's well worth a trip to the castle followed by a meal at the AD Haus.

We had sauerbraten, Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle), Nuremberg sausages with sauerkraut, and potato salad. Everything was excellent, in a charming, rustic setting with friendly service! My daughter wasn't so keen on the local potato salad, but I really enjoyed it. Definitely worth a visit!

We reserved a table through their website. There's a sign outside the restaurant stating that they don't accept cash. This was confirmed inside. If I had known this when making the reservation, I could have saved myself the trip. This restaurant is contributing to the abolition of cash, whether out of ignorance or convenience. I don't support such establishments. We had a very good meal elsewhere. There are plenty of restaurants nearby that don't refuse cash. Perhaps the owner will reconsider and improve their service and customer friendliness.

This restaurant is located below the Imperial Castle, housed in a charming half-timbered building. Without a prior reservation, it's difficult to get a table. Furthermore, the dining window is limited to 1.5 hours, which is perfectly adequate. We received a friendly welcome and were shown to the first floor. The service was solid and attentive, though without any particular highlights. The culinary highlight was the Schäufele (pork shoulder), which was superbly prepared – juicy, aromatic, and exactly as one would expect in Franconia. The venison goulash was decent, but fell somewhat short of expectations in terms of flavor.

We had a family lunch here (6 people) and were seated immediately. The room is cozy. The service was friendly and super efficient. The food good - a special call-out for the soup, on what was a cold day!

If you're looking for vegan, traditional food, this is the place to go. The flavor of the beetroot dumplings with chestnut filling was beautifully complemented by the truffle cream sauce and mushrooms. The vegan duck was crispy on the outside and fibrous on the inside, with a meat-like texture. Since the duck is made from mushrooms and the dumplings are served with mushrooms, those who enjoy this flavor combination should definitely try these dishes. Unfortunately, the vegan duck didn't include Savoy cabbage, which would have further emphasized its Franconian character. One slight drawback was that none of the staff were present when we arrived at the restaurant. The prices are also a bit higher than usual.

Honestly, this was a bit shocking. We heard great reviews about this place, that is why we went. The food was decent but the service was horrendous 😫. We asked for water that didn't arrive, and the restaurant was only half full, so it wasn't busy. Then when we pointed out that we didn't get any water and asked to see the bill, we didn't get an apology, instead, the same waiter went to get the bill and then chucked it at us. Would not visit again.

The food that day was unfortunately only canteen quality, and the menu didn't offer much either. The pan of pulled pork from Schäuble was rather bland and unseasoned, with very little sauce and no sauerkraut, which should have been included. We had expected more options, perhaps filet or ham hock, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Furthermore, you're rushed while eating because the tables are constantly being reassigned. The price-performance ratio is definitely not right! Perhaps it was simply too busy that day, which affected the quality. A real shame.

The main course was absolutely delicious! (Venison goulash). I thought it couldn't get any better, but the dessert (two kinds of mousse) was wow! I thought the evening was practically perfect and couldn't get any better, but the competent service from the lovely Sophia made it a truly perfect evening! Many thanks to the kitchen for the incredibly delicious food and, of course, to Sophia for the excellent advice and service despite the full house!

On weekdays (when there's no Christmas market), it's so cozy/wonderful here that you lose track of time and just want to linger. I was here with my mother when it was quiet (just the two of us at our regular table) and time seemed to stand still. And we stayed much longer than usual. Normally we eat and leave as soon as our glasses are empty. Here, however, we ordered another glass and stayed for over half an hour. Just a wonderful atmosphere here.

The most charming and, in our opinion, most beautiful brewery pub in the most beautiful location in Nuremberg! Whether summer or winter, tradition, history, and joie de vivre come together here. The team is extremely friendly and dedicated. For us, it's practically a weekly "must" to stop by, usually for a fresh Augustiner!

I had to ask for my drink three times, and even then it didn't arrive until after the meal. The portions aren't large, and the Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle) are a joke—they weren't even warm anymore, and the cheese was practically nonexistent. There was plenty of cream, though, probably as much as spaetzle itself. It's a nice, rustic pub, but I won't be coming back.

Be sure to note, the small restaurant had no more space for walk-in customers even on a Monday evening. The food was good and reasonably priced. It was served without much waiting. The offer includes traditional Franconian cuisine without big frills.

Five of us spontaneously decided to go there on a public holiday and were pleasantly surprised. Lovely decor, relaxed atmosphere, and a good layout. The menu offers something for everyone; there's also a discreet but well-chosen vegetarian/vegan selection. The food was also very tasty. The price was perfectly reasonable – we all had a starter, main course, and dessert, and it came to about €40 per person. Finally, the service deserves praise! Two young servers took care of the guests quickly and with consistent friendliness. A thoroughly positive experience for us; we'll definitely be back!

We decided to eat here on a Saturday afternoon based on the great pictures online and the positive reviews. We got a comfortable seat upstairs, the waiter was quick and served us right away. Unfortunately, we didn't really find the food we were looking for on the menu, so we only had a few drinks. The restaurant is in a great location, and in the summer, I can easily imagine sitting comfortably on the terrace with a cool drink and a bite to eat. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough space for a proper lunch for us; maybe next time.

After about half an hour, a waiter came and took our order: two drinks and two meals. It took another 30 minutes for a soup and three smoked Nuremberg sausages to arrive. The food was disappointing in terms of taste. All in all, the visit to this restaurant was disappointing.

You can truly enjoy food in a beautiful setting. We spent two wonderful evenings, had a great time with the staff, and there was even free beer! We'll definitely be back! Highly recommended, and with the right seat, you'll even get a view of the beer slide ;)

Probably the best location in Nuremberg's Old Town, with a new owner who manages to enrich traditional Franconian cuisine with an innovative, modern twist. Even I, as a Nuremberg native, am pleasantly surprised. Add to that the wonderful and very attentive service of Sofia, and you'll have a fantastic evening in Nuremberg's beautiful Old Town.

In November 2024, I visited this restaurant and was served a cold pretzel pizza- only to find out it had been taken from another table! It seemed to belong to the manager (there was a laptop on the table, etc.), who apparently hadn’t had the chance to eat it yet. When I questioned it, the waitress admitted it was a “mistake.” But honestly, it felt far more like a deliberate attempt to pass off someone else’s untouched meal as mine. This is, without a doubt, the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. Yes, they eventually brought me a new pizza, but the fact that I still paid for anything at all that night is something I deeply regret.

We came to this place because of their reviews. No one attended us. We spent there half an our waiting. I had to call a waiter just him to tell me that they were not taking any more tables because they had a big group inside. We just waited our time, terrible service.

The restaurant's interior is very local, with wooden benches and tables. The building also has a classic German feel. The patio offers a beautiful view of the market square. This place serves delicious Apfelstrudel. Truly delicious. Because it was a hot day, we were given a free glass of water. Thank you!

This restaurant has stolen my heart. It has a really pleasant view and a cozy atmosphere. The dishes were a little smaller than I expected, but they were served quickly and nicely prepared. The Brezel pizza is a must-try — I haven’t seen it anywhere else until today.

We sat down at a table outside and were ignored. Other guests arrived after us, right next to us. They immediately approached them, and we were walked past as if we were air. It was a real shame, so we had to go to the competition.

We wanted to try a different German restaurant and spontaneously decided on this one. We missed some typical dishes on the menu, like roast beef. Since the selection wasn't that extensive, we opted for bratwurst and pulled pork shoulder. The sausages were nothing special. The pork shoulder, however, was very tasty. It was also disappointing that no local beer was offered, only Munich beer... The service was okay. Not particularly courteous, unfortunately. We saw several times that our plates could have been cleared, but this wasn't done for a while. Besides, it's obviously not the restaurant's fault, but we were bothered by at least 10 flies and a few wasps. When we asked for coffee grounds to light and chase them away, they said they didn't have any. How can that be done when they offer several types of coffee? Of course, that pretty much ruined the ambiance... It wasn't bad, but there are certainly better German restaurants... especially with a better ambiance.

Today was my first time eating at Albrecht Dürer. I have to say it was absolutely fantastic. The service was fantastic, the atmosphere was fantastic. The main course was a dream. And the dessert: the pistachio cheesecake and the hop ice cream were truly amazing. I highly recommend it. I'll be back again.

Yesterday we opted for the mini Schäufele (pork shoulder) and the Franconian bratwurst. They came with a side salad—everything was delicious. Wir sind durch die Stadt gebummelt und ganz zufällig auf dieses Restaurant am Fußes der Burg gestoßen. Man kann schön draußen sitzen und Birg und Stadt bewundern. Ich hatte eine vegane Brezenpizza und bin absolut begeistert davon! Knusprigen Brezenboden mit veganem Schmand und veganem Käse sowie Grillgemüse und einem kleinen Häufchen Salat in der Mitte. SUPERLECKER!!! Nur der Preis ist m.E. etwas happig - 14,50€ für diese Pizza. Das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam. Ich würde aber jederzeit wieder hierher kommen.

The Schnitzel was good but the pork shoulder was very meh. Staff correct. A bit overprized, it's located at a very picturesque place, you pay for the views, so if you're not sitting in the garden or near the windows with a view, it's not worth it.
