Zills Tunnel in Leipzig

NACH längerer Zeit wieder im Gasthaus ,Bedienung hatte lange weile ,Essen schlecht Haxe zu fest ging nicht vom Knochen, Leber mit püree Mittag an gebot ,die Nachspeise wurde nicht serviert .Wir 3 Personen wurden von der Bedienung ständig beobachtet. Das 2 Mittagangebot war schon 12.30 nicht mehr im ANGEBOT: Ich kann als leipziger noch sagen das passt nicht in unsere STADT :

Ich habe in meinem Leben noch nie ein so schlechtes Essen in einem Restaurant bekommen!!! Wir waren im November 2024 hier. Ich bestellte mir ein Zanderfillet mit Kartoffelbrei für 27,50€. Ich bekam einen undefinierbaren Fisch mit aufgewährmten Fertigkartoffelpüree?! Meine Freunde wahren auch nicht zufrieden. Alles war Fertigware - nichts Frisches1 Ich kann mir gar nicht vorstellen, wie jemand mit so schlechtem Essen so lange existieren kann !. Ich glaube auch nicht, das hier n der Küche ein frischen Stück Fleisch, Fisch, Schnitzel, Nudeln oder irgend etwas anderes vorhanden ist! Das ist ein wirklicher Ort für das Ordnungsamt! Ich habe damals nichts gesagt, weil die Kosten für das Essen von unserem Veranstallter bezahlt wurden. Aber jetzt, dreimonate später, ärgere ich mich immer noch, dass ich mir nicht den Geschäftsführer habe kommen lassen! Ich wollte halt den schönen Abend mit den Kollegen nicht verderben! So etwas ist wirklich kriminell. Die Bedienung war einwandfrei!!! Wahrscheinlich Studentinnen von der Uni. Das Lokal kann ich nicht weiterempfehlen!

Fuimos allí para cenar y el lugar estaba ocupado, así que buen trabajo que habíamos reservado! Menús en inglés están disponibles que fueron útiles. El servicio era atento y la comida era excelente. Realmente disfrutamos de nuestra noche y sin duda volvería, gracias.

Hosted our Christmas party here. Table selection was great on the 1st floor. Friendly and fast service. The food was tasty, although some portions were a bit small.

We had lunch in Zills Tunnel on Boxing Day. The food is very good and the price-performance ratio suits us. Due to a food allergy, we wanted ingredients to be left out of a meal. This didn't happen, but the waitress immediately recognized this, apologized and brought the food back to the kitchen. Unfortunately, they only tried to collect the ingredient from the food, which is why the ingredients were still there when it was given out the second time. We then called the service staff again and asked for the food to be rearranged. Then another person came who introduced herself as the managing director during the conversation and asked what was next. Your statement was that the kitchen was overloaded and you didn't have time for such nonsense. The reorganization takes now. However, we had no objection to a longer waiting time. The tone of this conversation and the derogatory treatment are unacceptable to us in such a location, as no apology was given afterwards. We no longer visit Zills Tunnel and therefore cannot recommend it.

For many years it has been a must to dine here and indulge your taste buds when visiting Leipzig. It's always a pleasure to spend an evening in this great restaurant.

Unfortunately this time it was a bitter disappointment. We visit the city once a year at Christmas time. We had ordered the "one table" 6 months before, which is in the back of the restaurant. I also called again 2 months in advance to be on the safe side. What happened. When entering the hospitality it was clear that the table was occupied. After a brief discussion with the unreasonable staff, we were moved to the second floor and crammed in with a bunch of fraternity members. It was loud and not worthy of a family Christmas party. It's very sad. Of course you can do without us, but that had to be said.

I guess we were unlucky with the service, which didn't even hint of a smile, was slow and impersonal. And she only spoke German. The food was tasty, but relatively expensive.

Our experience shows that you can always count on good, solid hospitality in Zills Tunnel. This was also the case with today's St. Martin's Goose dinner. The goose was tender and cooked to perfection, the wine was appropriate and the service was friendly and accommodating. Full marks are given for this.

Eat like your mother eats. The roast goose and the goose plate were absolutely top notch. 😋 The ambience is great and the service was also very nice. We would be happy to recommend you and come back. Thank you for the lovely evening.

Unfortunately we were very disappointed and I know Zills differently: We were first greeted friendly on the ground floor and then awkwardly seated on the first floor by an unfriendly waitress. After 20 minutes of asking, we were finally served... The food came so quickly that the starter wasn't even eaten and then The service was no longer interested in our table (we then stacked the empty plates...). Seasoned meat with far-dry cheese and no seasoning, over-salted fried potatoes, mayor's steak in dry breading and baked potatoes wrapped in the most complicated way and pieces of plastic foil on the plate. The salad was great, hence the 4 stars... After ordering the bill, another 15 minutes passed until we were asked to pay at the counter by the curt and annoyed waitress... We all left full but not satisfied and will not be coming back. It's a shame - that was different!

After a few years, we were once again in Zill's Tunnel at the request of our guests. What should you say? Unchanged - for the tourist - "nice" restaurant, but the furniture is outdated and unfortunately not the friendliest staff. You weren't really sitting at the table yet when you were already asked about your drink requests. The advertised good, home-style, Saxon cuisine - ultimately nothing out of the ordinary, but at great prices. There is a particularly good supply of drinks. Sorry, but almost €6.50 for a non-alcoholic wheat and €7.50 for a 0.2 wine are just cheeky.

Wir waren mit einer Gruppe (20 Personen) zu Gast. Buchung war einfach. Raum war sehr gut geeignet für unsere Gruppe. Der Service war bemüht aber leider nicht perfekt. Es gab einige Probleme in der Kommunikation. Das Essen wurde von den Gästen sehr unterschiedlich bewertet. Einige waren sehr unzufrieden (was den Service allerdings in keiner Weise interessierte), andere waren mit den Speisen sehr zufrieden. Manche Gerichte waren kalt oder zu sehr verkocht.

Beautifully clocked Saxon restaurant in the famous Barfußgässchen in Leipzig. The portions are relatively small for the price but tasty. The solyanka was too thick for me personally, which I also told the waitress. We would love to come back.

There are curds here. You don't need to know more. Very friendly staff who welcome you even late at night. Great ambience and very tasty food.

Had the worst sauerbraten ever here. The vinegar just oozed out of the meat, forming a puddle of vinegar. That was inedible. But the dumplings and red cabbage were okay, as was the service and ambience. Reply to my review from the owner: "Sorry, but what you describe is not technically possible." But it is because it was like that. I guess I'll have to deduct another star from the food.

Auf Empfehlung unseres Gästeführers (Dirk Langenhan - Orte. Menschen. Geschichten.) hier eingekehrt. Nettes Lokal im historischen Stadtzentrum. Gut bürgerliche Küche zum fairen Preis. Bedienung sehr freundlich. Wir waren rundum zufrieden.

We were in the restaurant three times in the evening with 10 people. The first time for dinner, it was okay. Two times outside, today September 18th. Very bad. Once drinks came, then the gentleman was seen again. We are very disappointed after we left a lot of money. Not again on our next visit to Leipzig.

An exceptional restaurant visit We had dinner with 3 people on September 8th, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. and got a quiet table outside despite the hustle and bustle. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful, so I felt very well taken care of with my partial paralysis and blindness. Despite the restaurant being full, I was accompanied and handed over every step of the way. This experience made the visit unforgettable for me . To be highlighted ‼️ The restaurant offers step-free access to the toilets via an elevator from the dining room. While almost all restaurants in Barfußgasse have their toilets. housed in the basement, As well as around the market. Beef roulade was eaten, Onion cake. The third dish was completely re-composed into a desired meal due to an intolerance. The portions were sufficient, tasteful and visually enjoyable. Looking for a good dinner, we ended up in this restaurant and spontaneously got a seat outside from which we could watch the goings-on in Barfußgasse. The service was attentive and friendly and quickly brought us our ordered drinks. The leg of lamb and the schnitzel, which were served to us after a short wait, were tasty and well seasoned, and the portions were large enough. We can recommend this restaurant without any ifs and buts! Gladly again when we are in Leipzig again.

Experience Leipzig. It's nice to eat something in the restaurants in town. The ambience is great. You can watch walking for hours. That's how we love it. On the subject of food, my wife took the pike perch and was over the moon. I decided on a schnitzel. I was also hoping for a nice, juicy schnitzel with fries, unfortunately the breading was thicker than the schnitzel, which dampened my enjoyment a bit. If you like that, order it, I would prefer a different dish next time.

Great location. Spent a lovely evening there. Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to order a drink 25 minutes before closing time. I can't understand that. The restaurant is still full. A hint about the closing time and we would have just hurried a bit.

Conditions very unfriendly, no card payment possible once and never again

For 33 euros you get 5 sticks of asparagus, completely fried veal schnitzel and a rather unspectacular potato salad. Too much money for what you get. The salmon from my companion was still completely raw inside. A little too raw. In total we paid €115 for three lunches (including drinks). Really a lot of money for what you got.

Good, tasteful food. The salmon was on point and the Braumeister steak was a bit small, but very tasty. I have to admit that these were the best fried potatoes I've had in a long time. The restaurant exudes a nostalgic character and is cozy. Service should smile a bit :)

We weren't nearly satisfied. If you don't have a problem paying too much and aren't annoyed by the poor quality of the food, you're welcome to stop by there. We don't anymore.

We were there on June 1st, 2024 with 36 registered people. The restaurant urgently needs a new chef. Such a traditional house in a prime location cannot afford this below-average cuisine - a shame.

The wine was good. Salt was the main spice of the food. The duck is therefore a culinary disaster. Never again!!!

Very nice traditional Saxon restaurant with extremely tasty cuisine. I had a really wonderfully tasty Rostbrätl. Despite the house being full, the service was always present and delivered quickly. It won't be the last time I'm here.

Our time management was weak. We were with a larger group at two tables in the restaurant, one of which had already finished eating when the other received its food. Two plates came later, but they were cleared away before they were finished. In protest, almost the entire table paid and left, but someone wanted to stay and then had to pay directly. The entire group actually wanted to stay together longer, but that ended up splitting them apart. The schnitzels were pretty flat, 2/3 breaded, otherwise everything was ok

Extremely positive review, the cheese plate was three dimensional. The eye eats too. Ample portions, very tasty: what more could you want?

I often go to “Zills Tunnel” because of the good cuisine, including lunchtime last Sunday. We weren't disappointed with the quality of the food this time either, but even more so with the extremely grumpy, unfriendly waitress. Neither a friendly greeting nor a small smile and to top it off, not even a thank you and goodbye when leaving. There were five of us and we were all very horrified because it didn't fit at all with the beautiful ambience and the good cuisine. Despite the difficulty of finding good staff these days, a minimum level of friendliness and courtesy towards guests should be a given. It's really a shame!

I went to Zills Tunnel for dinner with a group over Easter, great food, very nice staff and the owners were also very nice. This restaurant is absolutely recommended!!

The food at this German restaurant was really delicious! The dishes were well prepared and had excellent taste. The atmosphere was cozy and the staff was very friendly. I highly recommend it and look forward to coming back soon!

The animal died in vain, the meat was completely dry, the portion was clear, and something else was hot too. Definitely still a lot of room for improvement.

A very nice evening at Zills Tunnel in Barfußgässchen. The reservation worked perfectly online! We were warmly welcomed, the table was beautifully set with roses and candles. Beautiful location, a great menu, great wines and beers; The pork knuckle and the duck were super delicious! Our waiter was very friendly, very attentive; great wines from my hometown in Lower Franconia! Fine schnapps, which you urgently need after eating duck and pork knuckle :-); We have been here several times and would love to come back.

Visited on a Saturday with four friends, excellent food, friendly service and a nice ambience. Over the years, it has always been a recommendation for us when we are in Leipzig. Thanks and keep it up…..

We wanted to enjoy a good meal in the evening. My husband ordered a cheese plate, I ordered spaghetti with pesto. Unfortunately, the pesto was totally subdued, others also gave it back for the second time. After a quarter of an hour, the table next door didn't even have a drinks menu, so they Left the restaurant upset, never again at this price level!!

We needed a separate room for around 18 people for our class reunion and found it in Zill's tunnel. Very cozy, good service, food was tasty and plentiful and best of all, no room rental was necessary. Of course we generated sales. We'd love to come back!

We had dinner this evening in this wonderful restaurant in Leipzig in the Erkerstube on the first floor. Everything was perfect. The young woman was very nice and helpful and, importantly, very attentive But unfortunately I ordered a Rostbratel, it was very burnt and you really couldn't eat it. The waitress wanted to change it but I didn't want to eat it

Great food at fair prices. Drink prices are sometimes quite high (yeast €6.40/0.5l, Ramazotti €7.90/4 cl, glass of Pinot Blanc 7.90, espresso €3.30... Otherwise a decent restaurant with good service.

Hier ist Sachsen zuhause. Das Haus mit langer Tradition beherbergt eine Küche, die auf hohem Niveau bodenständig, originell und zeitgemäß ist. Der Service ist sehr aufmerksam und flink. Eine gute Wein- und Getränkeauswahl und eine Speisekarte, die keine Wünsche offen lässt (Lob an den Grafiker/die Grafikerin) runden das ganze ab. Jeder Cent ist hier gut investiert. Wir kommen immer gerne wieder. 😀

Sehr ruhig und angenehmes Ambiente, aber ich habe mir unter dem Essen ehrlich gesagt, etwas besonderes vorgestellt, da es ja so auf "sächsisch" gemacht ist, aber es war trotzdem sehr lecker.

Preis-Leistung für das Essen an sich ist passend. Das Ambiente passt auch. Dem Servicepersonal war die Unlust an dem Abend deutlich anzumerken und eine gewisse Freundlichkeit hat leider gänzlich gefehlt.

War heute das erste und letzte Mal dort. Das Essen war völlig okay und der Preis auch, aber die Bedienung war auf gut Deutsch unter aller s....

Schönes, historisches (?) Gebäude mit Wandmalerei. Restaurant ist gut besucht. Service ist freundlich mit unterschiedlich guter Deutscher Sprachkenntnis. Essens Auswahl überschaubar. Die Namen sind in einer Altdeutschen Schrift, dir unleserlich ist. Das Essen (Ente +Sauce) war mir zu salzig. Andere Gäste mochten nicht, dass bei der Käseplatte alle Käsesorten mit dem gleichen Käse geschnitten waren und damit alle nach Blauschimmelkäse schmeckten. Somit insgesamt Potential zur Optimierung da.

Wir waren viele Jahre treue Kunden mit der gesamten Familie, aber was wir am 30.11.23 „aufgetischt“ bekamen ändert dies!

Die Mitarbeiter waren alle freundlich und zuvorkommend und für die Preisgestaltung sind sie auch nicht verantwortlich. Aber ehrlich, knapp 33 Euro für Gans, Klöße und Rotkohl 😬 Ich habe verzichtet und mich für Lammkeule entschieden. Geschmacklich war diese in Ordnung, aber etwas schwer von der Keule lösen. Die Klöße waren Weltklasse 👍 und die Bohnen etwas zu salzig (vielleicht ist der Koch ja verliebt 😏)

"Zills Tunnel" ist eine typisch sächsische Gaststätte im gut besuchten Barfussgässchen mit gemütlicher Ausstattung. Traditionelle Holzmöbel und Bilder mit historischen Motiven lassen längst vergangene Zeiten lebendig werden. Dazu passt die Speisenkarte mit bekannten Gerichten. Während die "Viertel Ente" geschmacklich punktete, machte das "Rostbrätl" seinem Namen leider keine Ehre. Nach dem Aufenthalt im Tiefkühler war es weder ein "Rost" noch ein "Brätl", denn beides hatte es nicht mehr gesehen. Allein der Konvektomat sorgte für das notwendige Erwärmen und die sehnlichst erwarteten Röstaromen blieben irgendwo auf der Strecke.

Sehr tolles Restaurant sehr gutes Essen sehr tolle Bedienung. Jeder Sonderwunsch war kein Problem immer wieder gerne top top top

..Hallo, wir hatten den Gänseteller "Zills Tunnel" leider war das Fleisch lauwarm, der Rest gut in der Temperatur...die gefüllte Gänsebrust etwas zu trocken und so generell etwas wenig vom Gänsefleisch...Beilagen gut und Reichlich....für 39,30 € für mein empfinden zu teuer....wir hatten 4x den Gänseteller mit selben Resümee....

Früher mein Lieblingsrestaurant. Heute war ich ebenfalls in freudiger Erwartung dort. Mein geliebter Sauerbraten geschmacklos, Klöße wie gekaufte im Supermarkt. Dazu noch megateuer. Für mich war es das Letzte Mal. Sehr schade.

Service am Tisch Interessenlos gegenüber den Gästen. Der Gänsebraten teuer, der Braten trocken und fest schmeckte wie mehrfach aufgewärmt. Rotkraut und Rosenkohl unter üblichen Niveau. Wir haben Zill's Tunnel schon viel viel besser erlebt Schade dieser Niveauverlust ,

Kurzfristig am Samstag einen Platz bekommen. Im Vergleich zu vielen Mainstream-Restaurants gibt es hier eine sehr leckere lokale Küche. Bodenständige Gastwirtschaft die ich gern wieder besuchen werde.

Mein Lieblingslokal in Leipzig. Dort gehe ich immer hin, wenn ich in Leipzig bin. Über viele, viele Jahre gleichbleibend gute Qualität und Service. Reservierung empfohlen.

Ein super uriges Restaurant mit sehr leckerem Essen. Das Ambiente und der klasse Service runden das gelungen ab. Ich komme gerne wieder.
