Very nice Turkish restaurant with indoor and outdoor areas...very friendly service, great atmosphere and delicious food...only one small criticism: the knives could be sharper...highly recommended!

On 17.05.2025, we had the pleasure of having breakfast in this restaurant. The place is very clean. Top ambient. The food was very tasty, and the waiter was perfect from a professional point of view.

Review for Zadem (visited in May 2025) Unfortunately, our visit to the newly opened Zadem café/restaurant, which has existed since March 2025, was very disappointing. Instagram advertises plenty of plates and an inviting brunch atmosphere - unfortunately the reality was completely different for us. We had a reservation (but had to wait for someone to accompany us late), we were seated at a dirty table during this time... not wiped like new and that was with a reservation in advance!? Instead of welcoming us in a friendly manner or at least offering drinks, we heard the staff talking about us behind our backs - with comments like "They're still waiting for other people" instead of at least asking if drinks could be served..🫠 Friendly and profitable service looks different. The entire staff seemed overwhelmed and not trained. The processes were uncoordinated, there was a complete lack of overview of reservations and the order of guests. It was clear that there was still a lack of structure and experience - and probably also sufficient staff. Unfortunately, the food wasn't convincing either. The portions were significantly smaller than in the promising Instagram pictures and videos, visually unappealing and overall not what you would have expected given the prices! Because of all the hectic and overwhelming demands, After 40 minutes, without any service at the table, we decided to leave and rather go to a tried and tested restaurant. The idea behind Zadem may be good, but the implementation is still in its early stages - with a lot of room for improvement. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this restaurant at the moment, but we hope that things will improve over time.

Very nice surroundings. Breakfast was amazing

So really I'm shocked. We got almost 70 euros for breakfast for two people. When the food arrived I initially thought it was for one person and asked the staff if they had forgotten our food. We got 3 spoons of meze. 4 small pieces of sucuk. A little honey and jam and a few pieces of bread. That's an impudence. I can't believe how people can eat there. This is so outrageous with the prices and portions

I can only recommend this store with a clear conscience. I often write reviews and, in addition to successful things, I also try to mention points that the respective restaurant could do better. But I was so impressed by the store that I had absolutely nothing to complain about. The service was A1. The waitresses were so friendly and really took their time. The managing director also lends a hand, was courteous and really nice. Other managing directors could learn a lesson from him. The food was very seasoned and simply delicious

We were here for dinner. Unfortunately the service was not good. The food was cold. Unfortunately, it took a while until we had cutlery. The portions were very small. I wouldn't eat there again. Unfortunately I'm very disappointed.

Nice atmosphere, nice employees.

We were there spontaneously at 11:10 without a reservation...Unfortunately everything was fully booked... We had to go…or maybe wait…. We were trapped, but then the nice waitress came running after us and said a reservation had been canceled and a table had become available!!!! We had been gone for almost 5 minutes and she actually ran after us!!! We were really happy :) The lovely waitress's name is Angel and she was so sweet and kind and gave us great advice, so friendly and a dream! The breakfast for 3 people was also very, very great and delicious, simply heavenly! Thank you dear Angel for the lovely morning! We'd love to come back

I was in this restaurant today with friends and unfortunately I was treated very disrespectfully by the owner. We were accused of “behaving badly” – whatever that means. We sat down outside, quite normally, without any sign indicating that reservations were required. Instead of pointing this out to us in a friendly manner, we were immediately spoken to in a rude manner. Treating guests like this is absolutely unacceptable. Anyone who runs a restaurant should know how to treat people with respect. It's a shame, we actually planned to go there more often - but definitely not like this anymore. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this store.

There were three of us there for breakfast and we were absolutely thrilled. The selection was diverse, lovingly put together and tasted at a very high level. There was everything from savory classics to sweet highlights – a breakfast that leaves nothing to be desired. The service is particularly noteworthy: despite the full house, we received attentive and friendly service. The team was always present, regularly asked whether everything was OK and responded to our wishes - the kind of service you would want. We also really liked the ambience. The decor is tasteful, with a charming touch of nostalgia that gives the place a warm, family atmosphere. You feel welcome and in good hands. An all-round successful experience – we would be happy to come back and can fully recommend the breakfast.

The three of us came from Frankfurt and consciously chose this store and it was exactly as we imagined it. The breakfast was super delicious, everything was freshly and lovingly prepared, Turkish with a really nice selection. Despite the fact that it was full, the service was top: very friendly, attentive and people kept asking if everything was okay. You could just tell that effort was being made here. The route was definitely worth it and I can really recommend it to everyone. We will definitely come back again.

A wonderful experience at Zadem Cologne! The shop is decorated in an oriental style, very inviting and cozy - the beautiful terrace in particular invites you to linger. The mezze were incredibly tasty and varied. The beef fillet was tender and perfectly prepared, accompanied by wonderfully seasoned potatoes and a very fresh, crisp salad. The chicken salad with the super tasty dressing was also a real highlight. The service was also very friendly and attentive. We felt completely at home – absolute recommendation!

Definitely not worth it for breakfast/brunch. Paid over 50 euros for two people, a bit of cheese, salt with very little avocado, not even a whole walnut, 3 slices of salami, the pack is available for 1.99 euros... there are definitely nicer places to have breakfast where the atmosphere is right. The quality of the food is poor, I wonder what oil the fries were fried in….

This is a place I will never come to again, even if they paid me, the service was zero, the food was not hot, we ate for 2 people, we woke up hungry, the prices are exaggerated compared to the dishes sold, 53.50 Euros, pay the bill, go hungry, go hungry, it's a joke 😅

Disappointing There were two of us there and we tried the Turkish breakfast - unfortunately it was a disappointment. Neither the taste nor the selection were convincing. Chocolate and berries have no place in a traditional Turkish breakfast. Instead of unnecessary decorations and fruit, more emphasis should be placed on authentic, tasty dishes. The service also left a lot to be desired - the waiter seemed unmotivated, but maybe he was just having a bad day. Overall: a lot of potential, but unfortunately no recommendation at the moment.

I really can't recommend it!! There are definitely better restaurants in Cologne. Unfortunately, my girlfriend and I had brunch there yesterday. Went to reception to ask for a table for two. The waiter said he would check it out soon but then walked back and forth for 10 minutes ignoring us instead of just sitting at a table. Should have taken that as a sign to find something else, but unfortunately the hunger was too great. After we finally sat down, we had to wait more than half an hour for our order to be taken, despite there being enough staff. It was only recorded because I went to the cashier and said we were still waiting. FINALLY we were allowed to order and we did. When they brought the drinks, I asked the waitress to please bring me the sugar shaker. Of course it never came. Finally they brought us our food. Guys, I have never been so disappointed with brunch in my life as I was at this restaurant. How do you mess up shrimp? They were like rubber. Dry and tasteless. Then came Gözleme (large dumplings with minced meat and Gouda). Again, DRY and TASTELLESS. After I realized that the knives were just for decoration and didn't really cut, I decided to use my hands. I had to chew properly and rinse with water so that the chunk would go down. But my girlfriend was happy with the Beyti. When we were finished (after 2 hours!) we went to the checkout ourselves because otherwise we would probably have waited another hour. The workers there are probably just there for decoration. Final word: At your own risk. Price/performance absolute rubbish. I have no idea how you can give this more than 2 stars.

The food isn't extremely tasty but it's not bad either. The pasta tastes as always warmed up in the microwave. The service is all the better for it, so really really nice and friendly girls, especially dear Sila, who was extremely warm 🫶🏽

We wanted to go for a drink with my parents in the evening and chose Zadem because of the Turkish drinks, we had never been there before. We liked the ambience and the menu, but unfortunately the service was disappointing. There wasn't much going on, but no one paid us any attention for a long time, even though two waitresses were free. The little waitress in particular stood behind the counter the whole time, drinking cola and completely ignoring us despite making eye contact, even when I raised my hand slightly. When I finally went to the counter and asked, she just said that we would order at the table, then followed without comment, but we were already up at that moment. It all seemed very listless, and that was a real shame, I've rarely experienced anything like that before. We then went to Romeo Romeo opposite and were very satisfied there. There are two more stars for the nice atmosphere and the interesting menu, but we probably won't come again. Hopefully the service will improve in the future.

So the breakfast buffet was a feast for the eyes and the palate. The only stupid thing is the sliding door that keeps opening and closing.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, taking their time with questions about the menus and responding to special requests. The atmosphere is also pleasant, the music is not so loud, perfect as a meeting place with friends. The food was ok, not special, but not bad either. The selection was as large as the competition (1 point deducted) and three drinks that we wanted to order were not available (1 further point deducted). 1 point back because the waitress brought us a tiramisu on the house to compensate for the unavailable drinks, which we thought was nice.

Food is good but unfortunately overrated, nothing special. And the service is catastrophic. Orders are forgotten or brought an hour later. Inattentive, tables are not cleared. It's a shame for the price you expect more!

I can only recommend it. My friends and I went to both restaurants; everything we ate and drank was very tasty and fresh. Top store, super friendly employees. We are thrilled and will definitely go back on our next visit to Cologne.

A Turkish restaurant we came across while walking in Koln. We really liked their pitas and meatballs. The employees were also very friendly. If you get tired while traveling and want to rest and have something to eat with your family, be sure to stop by.

We were there for the second time, but this time we were very disappointed. The staff were completely uninspired, the table was set on the wrong side, and the drinks were left on the left. Sure, I can handle that, but I don't go to a restaurant for that. The bread was really cold; they reheated it, but it was hard; it was definitely stale bread. The feta cheese had no flavor and was hard. A shame!

We had arrived from Frankfurt today and wanted to have brunch at this location because we really liked it on Instagram. We had a small child with us. I asked the waitress at the reception in a very nice manner about seats. The waitress at the reception answered me in a very rude manner and said that we should wait in front of the door, which we did. Half an hour later, she told us a waiting time of at least 1 hour. All the tables were outside Free. I then said we could also sit outside because the weather was still pleasant. She also said, annoyed, that the terrace was closed today (March 23rd, 2025, 12:50 p.m.). We then left because we had a small child with us and the waiting time was too long. When we walked past there later, everything in the outside area was full. So it wasn't closed after all!!! It's a shame that one of those Location, such an unfriendly service is used for the reception.

Breakfast is delicious. Rose jam. The taste remained in my palate. Tea service is late and the thermoses are cold. A real Turkish breakfast cannot be complete without well-brewed clear tea. It's a nice place if the bread is hot. We will come again.

We were there for iftar and were pleasantly surprised. We had little things to complain about but everything was ironed out by the service staff. First of all we had a Mercimek soup and the meze platter. Both were very tasty. The main courses - vegetarian Batu's favorite dish and chicken stir fry. Both dishes were well seasoned, so we didn't have to add any seasoning. Absolutely recommended. The only criticism: too much bread that couldn't be eaten.

The Zadem in Cologne is a great restaurant with delicious dishes and high-quality ingredients. The atmosphere is modern and cozy, so you immediately feel at home. The service is friendly, attentive and ensures a pleasant experience. The Ginstanbul cocktails in particular are a highlight and go perfectly with the food. An all-round successful evening – highly recommended!

The two of us were there for breakfast and unfortunately had to wait outside in the cold for more than half an hour. However, since the store was packed, we were hoping it would be worth the wait. Inside, however, it was anything but comfortable. The tables are so close together that you feel like you're sitting at the same table with strangers. There can be no question of privacy. The service was a disaster! We had to wait half an hour just to order. When we later ordered more tea, we only got it long after our breakfast was ready - despite repeated requests. While the food was good, it was definitely not good enough to warrant waiting in line for that long a second time. You can get better service and at least as good a breakfast anywhere else – without all the stress. Therefore it is not worth it for us to come back again.

Zadem has my heart when it comes to the location. Very comfortable, you could chat with friends for hours (especially in summer). However, there is unfortunately a real need for improvement when it comes to food. We were there so many times and tried a wide variety of dishes (because we love the ambience) The cappuccino/latte is also always too hot because the milk is overheated (the portafilter is probably used without the person knowing how to do it) If these few aspects were adjusted, the location would be a 10/10

Food was good. The dessert was the best. Staff is very helpful. I don't know why, but I didn't feel completely comfortable.

We waited outside the store for about 30 minutes because it was full. Afterwards a group came who didn't have a reservation (which was clear in advance because they asked if the place was full). A gentleman came out and then recognized one of the group and said that they had a reservation. When talking to another waitress, we learned that they really didn't have a reservation, but they were still allowed in before us and others. A very poor service with little leniency for waiting customers.

The Zadem is a very cozy café restaurant. It is very crowded at any time of the day. The food is very tasty and the selection was also good, definitely recommended :). But the service could be significantly better for the price. It took about 20-30 minutes for someone to even come to order. Fortunately, the food came quicker. Clearing away empty bowls or asking every now and then if you would like something else could also be improved a lot. That's how it was when we wanted to order a café, more drinks and food, no one came (even after making eye contact and letting us know) which is why we left earlier than we wanted. In the end it's just a loss of money for the café, but the food is still very good.

We were very happy to find this place after a terrible meal. We entered with the excitement of kunefe and tea. I have never seen such bad tea in my life. We were able to taste a sip, but we couldn't believe how a Turkish place could not make this much tea. The extreme lemon taste is something bitter and different. Künefe was also doughy, but we were able to eat it as the need for dessert was overwhelming. But normally, when a Turkish business sees the tea we don't drink, they say sorry, let's serve another. The waitress was a sweet girl, but it was obviously a place run by inexperienced staff. I don't think I will go again and take my guests from Turkey. We planned to go for breakfast but I definitely won't take that risk. 👎🏻

Brunch, Mittag, Abendessen - und geniale Kuchen! Zadem ist der perfekte Ort für einen entspannten Brunch - superleckeres Essen, riesige Auswahl und alles frisch zubereitet. Egal ob süß oder herzhaft, hier wird jeder glücklich. Besonders praktisch: Man kann bis 16 Uhr brunchen - ideal für Langschläfer. Neben dem Brunch gibt es auch mittags und abends kreative, liebevoll zubereitete Gerichte. Ein Highlight sind die frisch gebackenen Bazlama und Gözleme. Bazlama ist ein weiches, fluffiges Fladenbrot, das perfekt zu herzhaften oder süßen Speisen passt. Die Gözleme - gefüllte Teigtaschen - gibt es mit Spinat, Schafskäse, Gouda oder Sucuk. Und natürlich dürfen die fluffigen Pancakes nicht fehlen, die zu einem guten Brunch einfach dazugehören. Besonders erwähnenswert: Die täglich wechselnden, selbstgebackenen Kuchen. Jede Sorte ist ein echter Genuss und rundet den Aufenthalt perfekt ab. Die gemütliche Atmosphäre und das freundliche Team machen Zadem zu einem echten Volltreffer. Egal, wann man hingeht - es lohnt sich immer.

Super great place for brunch, the waitress Angel is so enchantingly nice and I'm happy every time she serves me, I'm now there for brunch/dinner almost every week. I'm also thrilled that brunch and dinner taste so good, although the neighbor's taste isn't even close to that. I've also noticed that many people in the neighborhood now offer brunch, but no one is like Zadem 😍

Bei meinem letzten Besuch im Zadem am Kaiser-Wilhelm-Ring 6-8 in Köln wurde ich von der gelungenen Fusion aus traditioneller türkischer Küche und modernen Food-Trends begeistert.  Ambiente: Das stilvolle und gemütliche Ambiente lädt zum Verweilen ein und schafft eine angenehme Atmosphäre für jeden Anlass. Service: Das Personal war freundlich und aufmerksam, was den Aufenthalt besonders angenehm machte. Essen: Die Speisekarte bietet eine vielfältige Auswahl an türkischen Gerichten mit modernem Twist. Besonders der Brunch ist ein Highlight und überzeugt mit frischen Zutaten und kreativen Kompositionen.  Fazit: Das Zadem ist definitiv einen Besuch wert für alle, die in Köln auf der Suche nach innovativer türkischer Küche in stilvollem Ambiente sind.

Super Ort für ein Abendessen, türkisch angelehnte Küche und extrem nettes Personal, alles war einfach so passend, Atmosphäre, Geschmack, Service und ich hab gehört hier gibt es auch Brunch!!

Estábamos buscando un buen lugar para brunch mientras visitamos amigos en Colonia y estamos tan agradecidos que terminamos comiendo aquí. El ambiente es bastante único y oriental. Tuvimos Brunch para 2 y nos encantó.

Ich war letzte Woche mit meinen Freunden bei Zadem essen. Die Kellner waren super süß und freundlich und haben das Essen echt schnell gebracht. Wir waren super zufrieden. Vorallem nach dem unfassbar leckeren Nachtisch. Ich kann die San Sebastian Kuchen nur empfehlen 😍!!! 10/10 gerne wieder .

The advertising drum for this store is insane. Videos, pictures and a lot are posted everywhere on social media. We wanted to get our own opinion and went for breakfast. Well, breakfast came, it was nicely garnished and attractive, tasted ok but unfortunately we had bad luck with the kisir or couscous salad, it was sour, was replaced without comment but it wasn't good either. From my experience, however, I notice that things are unpacked several hours in advance, such as the sausage, which you can tell because it is already discolored and dried out at the edges, but it doesn't have to be that way. Well, in my opinion, anything can happen, it's also manual work, but if I'm charged over €47 for a breakfast for two people then that shouldn't happen and as a customer you should also get flawless and fresh food I recommend Zadem to focus on quality and not quantity. Guests also wait a little longer for their order if everything is 100%. That was the first and also the last visit for us

Staff and food very tasty. For a good evening in a nice atmosphere with good food and service, always worth a visit! I'd love to come back again and again!
