Ali's Döner in Köln

Small, unassuming snack bar right on Neumarkt. The (steak) doner kebab was super delicious and highly recommended. The standard salad selection and a larger selection of sauces were also available. The falafel also looked great. We'll be back!

The meat has gone really bad. The old steak doner is no longer available here. It's better to eat at Venloer Str., where they still serve the steak doner.

Poor service, talking with food in their mouths and a disastrous kebab. The cocktail sauce was simply watered-down tomato sauce.

I was at Ali's Döner at Neumarkt last night at 11:35 PM and ordered a kebab with extra meat. Unfortunately, the meat was completely dry, saltless, and had no flavor at all. There was also no lettuce, just a few onions and tomatoes. I complained directly to the seller and told them that the meat didn't taste good. But instead of responding kindly, he became rude and said, "I just ate it, and it was delicious." I offered him a small piece so he could see for himself what was wrong. But his response was: "Why should I try your kebab? If you don't like it, you can throw it in the trash." I was totally shocked by his behavior. Of course, it's my decision whether to eat the kebab or throw it away—but a seller should never speak to customers in such an unfriendly manner. In the end, I left the kebab there and went home hungry. I just threw away 15 euros. I was really angry. Unfriendly salespeople like this are ruining the whole place. I will never visit this kebab shop again. One star is already too much.

The döner is not that tasty. It is a buffet style place. Compared to other döner places I have eaten, the meat is very lean and the meat ratio is less. Sauce and vegetables are added abundantly, of course, upon request. It is not a place where you wash your hands after eating. It is a buffet, as you know. But there are no wet wipes either.

I had a kebab and bit into cartilage several times. I threw half a kebab away. Three stars only because I'd reconsider a falafel turnover. I don't eat meat here anymore, though. The people are friendly, and the atmosphere is as good as you'd expect in the middle of Neumarkt. If you stroll down Schildergasse, you'll find a better snack to go.

The meat doner between bread is delicious. You should definitely try it when passing through here.

The meat is put in very little and it is not tasty

Unfortunately, I wasn't satisfied with the kebab. The flavor wasn't convincing, and the meat was very sparse. For the price, I would have expected much more.

It's actually quite tasty, but they really skimp on the meat. Normally, one kebab is enough to fill me up, but after this one, I always feel like I could eat two more. The service is okay; the staff aren't particularly friendly, but they're also not rude; they're just neutral.

The employees are very good. But meat doner is definitely not meat. We miss the taste of the days when it first opened. I have been in Germany for years and I eat Greek doner a lot and I love it. There is no difference in taste from meat to meat. Neither beef nor lamb has anything to do with it. There's a good chance it's pork.

I can't understand the bad reviews. The boys are always great. The quality is top. On hot event days, they spend their nights up and down. Some drunks or tourists are probably writing bad comments here because they didn't move quickly enough. I can't understand all of this. For me, the boys are in first place and I say that as a resident who has lived 200m from this place for 18 years.🧡🧡🧡

I liked it when I ate it at another branch, but I saw that they put the vegetables on the street and then they took them inside. There is no attention to human health, how do you plan to serve those vegetables to people? Nothing can be eaten from here!

The meat doner leaf was very plentiful and very delicious. Do not confuse it with ground meat doner in other places.

Apart from the location, which unfortunately has a train station forecourt feel, the kebab here is quite decent. Above all, the large selection of sauces is great.

Completely fine and quickly on Neumarkt. The service was nice and quick. The Yaprakdöner (steak doner) kebab meat deserves special mention. Not like many other chains in the area and for the same price.

The dürüm was okay… the employees were very unfriendly and ruined my appetite. I wanted hot sauce and he refused because the cocktail sauce was also quite hot 😂 After a little discussion I was finally allowed to get my hot sauce. Once and never again!!!

The kebab costs €7.50. I tried the veal.

Instead of €6.5, I paid €7.5 for a chicken kebab. The kebab would only be half full with meat and vegetables!

Amazing kebab with very fresh ingredients. Had the döner sandwich with chicken, tzatziki sauce and salad and loved it, it’s the best in town and there are even some tables to seat and eat

I don't understand why it doesn't have more stars. I have ordered there several times and I have always been satisfied. He is by far one of the friendliest guys to own a kebab shop. Especially since I can really understand him, which is really rare in Cologne. The location of the shop is great for taking advantage of the KVB's delay while on the go and spontaneously eating something delicious that doesn't consist of sugar. The kebab sandwich tastes delicious, and the flatbread is just right. But that's a matter of taste. In fact, the shop is clean, the owner is friendly and the food is delicious. That's my experience so far. The fact that the Neumarkt is not a good place to eat has to do with the city of Cologne, not with this shop.

In my opinion the best “Ali’s Döner” in Cologne. Very tender steak meat, slightly over salted in my opinion. Sauces and salad are also good, which cannot necessarily be said about the surrounding area. It is located right next to the train stop, so there are lots of beggars, junkies and other anti-social people.

I always eat the kebab with steak meat and am always very satisfied - the taste itself and that of the sauces is extremely intense (also salty, yes). The team are always so nice and cheerful that you're just happy to order there and since it's right next to the tram stop, it's easy to pick up something on the way.

Chicken doner was quite delicious. We ate at 2 places in Cologne, I think this one was much better. Open at night, it is a very good option for night doner kebabs. Be careful as you want the hot sauce to be quite hot :). The employees were also Turkish and very friendly.

So charging 7.50 for a Pomm kebab is one thing. But then asking for 50 cents extra for a few onions is audacious. Next time I'll go somewhere else.

The shop is actually a great address. I live nearby and often enjoy eating a kebab here.

I really enjoyed “Ali’s Döner”! The meat was of good quality (I ate steak/poultry mixed), the kebab pocket was also crispy and tasty, the salads including coleslaw and the yogurt-garlic sauce rounded off the kebab perfectly. The portion was also good. The service was attentive, friendly and quick. The ambience... well, the Cologne Neumsrkt. ;) I will definitely go to "Ali's Döner" again.

Pure salt. It's really crazy how you can ruin such a great Yaprak skewer. The skewer looked really good. Unfortunately you couldn't taste the meat because it only tasted of salt. Hope the kebab doesn't use so much salt next time. Staff very friendly

If you care about your health, avoid this store STRONGLY. I bought a chicken kebab and have had severe food poisoning for 3 days, with all that goes with it. Never buy a kebab there!!!!!!

I bought a Dürüm on Saturday for €8. It was cold, had hardly any content, tasted rather bad and didn't fill me up. At these prices you would expect a lot more.

Great kebab, the man at the checkout is always friendly, the kebab man cutting kebab is sometimes in a bad mood, but the kebab always tastes good and clean. Good meat.

Das Essen Döner ist viel zu wenig Fleisch, und es gibt nur drausen Sitzplätze das ist bei dem Wetter 0 Grad echt das Letzte. Man braucht Sitzplätze drinnen und man sollte wenigstens fleisch mehr geben . Da direkt sind auch alle Obdachlose aber dafür können die denke ich nichts.

Der Döner ist immer lecker. Manchmal ist das Fleisch etwas zu zäh, aber überwiegend schmeckt es wirklich gut. Das Ambiente am Neumarkt ist natürlich nicht schön und eher eine Massenabfertigung. Aber dafür hat man wenigstens am Neumarkt einen Grund zu lächeln. Die Bedienung ist meistens nett.

Dieses Fleisch kann sich zurecht Steakfleisch nennen! Ich habe mir einen Döner mit Kalbsfleisch bestellt, was sich am Stand Steakfleisch nennt. Das Fleisch war hochwertig und saftig, was man leider nicht überall findet. Die Größe der Portion sollte man überarbeiten. Leider werde ich erst nach 2 Dönern richtig satt. Der Service ist freundlich und schnell. Der Stand sieht gut gepflegt und schön dekoriert aus, jedoch wäre eine Möglichkeit zum Verzehr im Laden wünschenswert. Leider gibt es nur neben dem Stand kleine Stühle. Insgesamt ein guter Döner, den ich nur weiterempfehlen kann!

Die Saucen waren gut ( Standard) , hier Knoblauch und scharfe Soße, das Gemüse war ebenfalls gut aber nichts besonderes ( Salat, Tomate, Gurke, Zwiebel), das Brot ist zugekauft und im Kontaktgrill geröstet, also eher von der billigen schnellen Variante. Das Fleisch (hier Kalbfleisch) war knorpelig, zäh und eher zu fettig. Die zwei Männer hinter der Theke waren freundlich und schnell. Für 7,50 Euro zu teuer und qualitativ zu schlecht, selbst wenn du nur auf den Zug wartest, warte lieber weiter bis daheim oder zur besseren Gelegenheit.

Ich dachte, es wäre unmöglich, Dürüm zu verderben, aber es ist möglich! Das ist das schlechteste Essen, das ich je in meinem Leben gegessen habe.

After I couldn’t find a good shawarma for a very long time, I came across this stall on the street near the metro, and I was really surprised, because the guys made me a pretty tasty shawarma and, most importantly, with pieces of meat. Exactly with pieces and not slices. I don’t even understand why they started cutting this meat into slices? can anyone tell me? The place is not the best for eating, but the fact that the meat itself was cut into pieces is definitely a plus

Die gefühlten fünf Pommes konnte man essen und die Soßen waren auch okay, aber für 7€ einen Pommdöner mit rohem Hühnerfleisch zu essen ist mies.

This is a cosy place in Neumarkt and has tasty doners. Less than 6 euros per box, we enjoyed eating here. They accept cards and have quick service. Good for a quick bite. Seating is good and people are friendly. Location is good , surrounded by lots of shops , museums nearby and many options for time pass.

Gutes Essen ohne Frage, leider ist der Neumarkt wo ein aktiver verkauf und konsum von Schore stattfindet, mit seinen junkis leider kein schöner Ort der zum längeren verweilen einlädt. Dafür kann der Laden aber nix 🙃

Der mit Abstand schlechteste Döner (Dürüm) bisher. Auf dem Heimweg vom Feiern nicht mal als Suffdöner genießbar gewesen. Fertigteig (scheint wohl in NRW üblich zu sein, bei uns in BW wird der Teig frisch gemacht und selbst ausgerollt) mit einer Portion vor fett triefendem Fleisch, eine halbe Gabel voll Salat und andere Beilagen und dann kostet der Spaß 8 Euro. Geschmacklich eine Katastrophe.

An sich ist Alis Doner gut, als wir aber uns hingesetzt hatten, sahen wir wie der Verkäufer mit seine Latex Handschuhen rauchend den Müll im Mülleimer runterdrückte, Weil dieser überquillt, daraufhin ging er gemütlich in den Laden und verkaufte gemütlich weiter Döner mit den Selben Handschuhen einfach nur Wiederkich🤮

Abzocke. Ich habe gefragt, ob man mit Karte zahlen kann. "kein Problem" Bestelle eine Pommes für paar Euro, die ich logischerweise mit karte zahlen will. nachdem die fertig sind meinte er es sei zu wenig, um es mit karte bezahlen zu können und hat mir gleich n Getränk dazu gestellt. An sich waren die Pommes nicht schlecht, aber so eine Dreistigkeit unterstütze ich nicht. Ich komme da oft vorbei und werde nie wieder was bestellen. Schade eigentlich.

Der Steakdöner ist von absolut schlechter Qualität. Habe 10,50€ bezahlt (mit angeblich 1,50€ Extrafleich und Gemüse). Gar keine Gewürze im Fleisch. Magenprobleme inklusive. Nicht zu empfehlen.

Also Liebe Kölner und Kölnerinnen oder Touristen wenn man Hunger hat sei es vor einer Party oder zwichendurch, kann ich es hier empfehlen sehr LECKER

Das Steak-Fleisch ist überragend

Fleisch schmeckt bei diesem Laden nach Fleisch und kommt ohne Geschmacksverstärker aus. Brot ist das kleine Standardbrot, welches mittlerweile in allen Großstädten serviert wird. Sauce hätte etwas mehr sein können, Ansonsten Top Qualität. Standort und laden sind optisch nicht so toll, Scheibe zerstört und viele Betrunkene drumherum. Durch den ständigen Bahnverkehr sehr viel andrang.

Falafel Dürüm ist super lecker und hat so lang auf, wie Gäste kommen 👌🏻😋😋

Hallo zusammen! 👋 Also ich war am Neumarkt zufällig und Haber mir meinen Hunger mit Ali's Döner zwei Falafel 🧆 gestillt. Freundlichkeit 100%, Geschmack 200% Aussage von meinem Sohn, er ist 5 Jahre alt. 😂 Also uns hat sowohl der Geschmack als auch die Menge der Fühlung war schwer in Ordnung. Danke für due leckere und schnelle Mahlzeit. 👍

Schmeckt nur nach altes Fett war wirklich ekelhaft nie wieder werde ich nochmal was vom Alis döner holen.

In meiner Dönerbox war Glas! Auch wenn es nur eine Ausnahme war, hat es ekelhaft geschmeckt. Das "Fleisch" besteht fast nur aus Haut und knorpel.
