Mangal Restaurant in Köln

The restaurant is mediocre. The prices for main courses are high (€19 each for the main course) and are not that big. The flavors of the food didn't come through that well and in general it was a bit dry and not very spicy. The dips that were served beforehand were delicious. The service was also okay, the waiters seemed hectic and quite reserved. The Cağ Kebap is heavily advertised and that's why I had to try it. It was sliced ​​very thinly and the portion was therefore really small and dry, but at the same time there was a lot of fat. Too bad, I wouldn't recommend it.

Unfortunately, it's deteriorated considerably. It feels like you're sitting at ONE table with the entire restaurant, all cramped. The service has also deteriorated; the waiter was unfriendly. I won't be coming back.

For the late dinner there was a rump steak for my wife and a mixed grill plate for me. As a starter there was Içli Köfte, which is highly recommended! To drink there was homemade Ayran. Everything was very tasty and good! There are 4 stars because everything should have potential for the future. 😉

However, the food arrived cold... The bread under the meat tasted old and was cold. The meat was cold… We as a family were deeply disappointed…. I couldn't help myself and pointed it out to the waiter. The waiter simply acknowledged it and didn't even apologize or try to compensate... We had to pay the full amount for our cold food…

Unfortunately, we were very dissatisfied with our order via Uber Eats yesterday. We had ordered two mixed grill plates, but the preparation was completely uneven: some pieces of meat were burnt on the outside and still raw on the inside - you could clearly see the red color. Other parts were so hard you couldn't even bite into them. Unfortunately, the food was inedible, which is particularly disappointing with a grilled plate. We would have liked an even and careful preparation. What a shame!

The fact that it is the only place to eat Cağ kebab makes it without any alternative.

If you want to taste Turkish cuisine in Cologne, this is a perfect place. Very friendly and attentive service, and excellent food.

Honestly, when I saw the line in front of us, I thought the food would be delicious. But there was no flavor in the food. When we asked how long the queue would take at the door, they told that we would be inside in 10 minutes, but we waited for 1 hour. We ordered Cağ kebab and Adana kebab. The kebab was burnt because they brought it on hot marble. When we told the waiter, he said you should have flipped it. The taste of cağ kebab was no different from a normal meat. It wasn't worth the wait. The only good thing is the Ayran. I don't think I'll come back.

We went to this restaurant on recommendation. I thought it was nice when there were people waiting in line at the door. However, some of the group's food arrived very late, resulting in a situation of one person eating and the other looking after. The food wasn't as delicious as I expected, it wasn't good enough to wait in line. Even tea was not offered. Maybe earlier hours could be better, staff were kind.

I ate cag kebab at the restaurant yesterday and woke up today with diarrhea and a herpes on my lip. The meat already smelled like a farm yesterday, but I still ate half of it. My girlfriend then ate it for me and also had diarrhea. You should really report violations of hygiene! If you love your body, you'd better not eat meat here. Very disappointed.

The soup at the beginning is not bad, but the lamb is really below expectations. The meat was not cooked well, the Durum bread was very cold and the salad in the wrap was very bad.

We ate cağ kebab and paid 19 euros for 2 skewers. It seemed a little expensive to me. Lavash bread did not come at first, it came because we requested it and they said it was a lavash made in the morning. 2 types of appetizers came to the table and the bread was cold. They stated that there was no balloon bread or hot lavash. I don't think I will go again.

Best kebab meat I have ever eaten

Poor quality food. Pide boring and dry. Lamb with mushrooms became chicken, without comment. The side dish was forgotten, the tea offered was forgotten. The blast. The side dish should be accounted for; there was a discussion because of the price difference between lamb and chicken. In the end we paid 5 euros too much, so I didn't need to discuss it anymore, but there was still a very bad aftertaste. Either overwhelmed or dishonest. Both suck. Atmosphere heartless.

Cag kebab looked a bit like iskender and unless you have high expectations for its taste, it will meet you normally. Raw meatballs and other appetizers are successful and the staff is very attentive. Prices are average, and it is not easy to find parking for a car around the restaurant.

Unfortunately the restaurant could not meet our expectations. The service was anything but friendly, and it started with the tea: The Turkish tea was extremely bitter; it was only after I asked that a fresher one that tasted better came. I also ordered an Urfa but received an Adana. The Adana was also raw and inedible on the inside - this is unacceptable at these prices. You could be much happier in a snack bar around the corner.

The most beautiful Turkish restaurant I have seen in NRW. Very friendly staff and excellent cuisine. The toilets are very stylishly furnished and match the ambience. We'll come back any time.

I was there yesterday for the first time after the renovation :) The food was very tasty, as were the starters. The main course was Yogurtlu Adana and the mixed grill plate. The service was very friendly. We'll be back :)

The ambience is much nicer compared to before. Brighter and friendlier furnished. Service is on point and friendly. The food came for 5 people at the same time, and quickly. However, since the food is served on a hot stone, there is very quickly a lack of space and you have to be careful not to turn the meat or put it on the plate, otherwise it will turn black very quickly. In addition, there is so much smoke and in the end you only smell of grilled meat. I think you can put on make-up with the stone, otherwise everything is pretty solid.

Adana kebap was one of the best! For Germany standard it was awesome. We love the sütlaç as dessert. Service may be improved but we enjoyed our night out. Please note that no reservation is not possible

That was the worst grill plate we had, it was so disappointing, you thought the shop had a big name, it had to taste good, but it was a catastrophe, the price-performance ratio was underground, there were INSECTS in the salad, i.e. on the lettuce leaves, tiny little insects, how can you be so disgusting? A customer who pays almost €30 for a ridiculously small grill plate that doesn't taste good has something like that served up?! The health department has to do an inspection and I just embarrassed myself in front of a colleague because I suggested going there

And the ayran is diluted with water, so even the salt doesn't taste good. We had dishes 97 and 99. The dish 97 didn't taste good at all. They were lamb skewers that tasted like rubber. While you are in the restaurant, tables are pushed back and forth so it is extremely loud. We visited this place last time.

I suggest going back to the old system. When Cag kebab was served on a hot stone, it did not get cold and was better. Now, serving it on a normal plate does not keep the meat hot.

Service very unfriendly. Warm glasses and cold cola. Plastic plates on the tables. A disproportionate torturous volume, so a relaxed meal is out of the question. The quality of the food is also very poor. No recommendation from me.

Recommendation Cag Kebab 100% I didn't find anything else particularly special. The service is okay, there are enough people there and you generally get your things quickly. I've been there several times and sometimes there was no longer any Cag Kebab in the evening hours. Then I had to switch to other things. Not everything was as great as hoped but still ok. 19€ for a Cöp sis that is moderate and relatively small, well. The ayran was very unsalted, so in general I would only give the shop 3 stars. It's clean and relatively "upscale", but since I'm always positively pleased with the Cag Kebab, I have to give it 4 stars because that means the place has blown up again. In short, you should only eat there with several people if the Cag Kebab is still available. ^^

Worst service I’ve ever had in Germany. There was a big family that came after I already ordered food with 10mns and got their food before me. The food I got had a bug. We came from the Netherlands to eat cağ kebab and were lucky to arrive at the right time; If we had been a little later, the cağ kebab would have been finished. We learned that Cağ kebab sells out around 6-7pm every day. Normal cağ kebab was really nice. The one with yoghurt was a bit reminiscent of iskender. We also tried Lahmacun; It was crispy like in Turkey. The raw meatballs were excellent. Künefe was also very delicious. The staff at the restaurant was extremely polite and caring.

Unfortunately I had to return the plate exactly as I received it. I couldn't touch the meat, the smell of the meat was very unpleasant and I immediately lost my appetite. The salad that came with it was soggy and brown. The only good thing was the cola. Paid €103 for 5 people at the end of the day, very cheeky for the quality!! I won't be able to see the inside of the store anymore and I can't recommend it to anyone. Traces of lime could even be seen in the Turkish tea.

I was there yesterday and can't recommend it at all. All 5 people had a kebab plate where the meat was cold and not cooked through. And the smell spoiled your appetite. At the end we had a tea where the lime layer had settled at the bottom like sugar. So for €100 you can eat something better anywhere.

It's a very rude place. The waiters literally kick the customers out. A friend of mine and I asked for a seat and asked where we should sit. He told us to wait outside in front of the door. The waiter made the people who came before us sit down. Then when I asked again, we arranged a table for you very rudely. They literally kicked the customers out in a hurry. So we went to the Adana Meat Restaurant next door. The meat was delicious and the price was cheaper. This place is either saturated with customers or the waiters are fed up with the number of customers and they don't want new customers anymore, so nie wieder!!!

I ordered the horizontal kebab (Cağ Kebabı). That's exactly how I imagine Cağ Kebabı, it tasted very good. The staff was very friendly and nice.

Came for Caĝ Kebap and enjoyed it. The meat and grill aroma are simply delicious. Maybe it would be a bit better if the second skewer was served later. Some people write too greasy here. This dish also thrives on fat. Yes, it's true, it becomes rubbery but it has no unpleasant smell or taste at all, which speaks for a very good quality of meat...

The food didn't blow me away, the portions aren't big for the price, you can find the same thing as here in any kebab shop

I was super surprised by the taste of the kebab plate. The charcoal aroma and the juicy pieces of meat cannot be matched by any other Dürüm. The Ayran was homemade and tasted so good. The homemade sauces for the starter rounded everything off. All in all great, would come back and try the other dishes.

The food is ok. To be honest, I expected more from the name Mangal. I drove over 800km from Linz Austria to try the restaurant. To be honest, I was slightly disappointed. Price performance leaves something to be desired. We ordered a grill plate for 2 (55eur). Meat quality leaves something to be desired. Cag kebab not as good as hoped. I can say now that I've been there but I wouldn't go there again. Everyone should still try it for themselves and decide whether they like it.

Good food and nice service. The meat is traditionally grilled over coals and tastes great! I would recommend skipping the rice and just choosing the salad instead - there is plenty of bread.

On the weekend you should stand in front of the door longer until a place is free, the food is sometimes good but often not very well prepared, the grill dishes are very well sorted but also simply thrown together or grilled too much that the meat is sometimes burnt and inedible is, fellow countryman is treated and served better. Or we've just been unlucky 5 times so far.
