Good food, but different treatment depending on whether you leave a tip or not.

I’d seen this restaurant before, usually with a decent crowd, but today it was quieter, so I decided to give it a try. I ordered the €13 lunch menu — a soup and the dumplings the place is known for. With only a couple of tables occupied, I was surprised my order took nearly 30 minutes. I wasn’t in a rush, and a long wait often means freshly made food, so I waited, curious about the quality. I had the black dumpling soup and the shrimp dumplings. Portions were very small — two dumplings in the soup and four in the bamboo steamer — more like starters than a meal. The soup was overly sweet for my taste, and the standard soy and sweet-and-sour sauces felt like a cliché of generic Asian cuisine. The black dumpling filling was bland, lacking both flavor and texture. Good dumplings usually balance lean meat and a bit of fat for juiciness and aroma; these had neither. The dough was fresh but slightly undercooked at the folds — surprising after such a long wait. The shrimp dumplings were nicely shaped and presented, but again, the filling was flavorless, and the industrial sauces added nothing. Six dumplings for €13 feels steep, especially given the lack of care in seasoning and detail. I left still hungry and unimpressed. Suggestions: improve seasoning, stay closer to traditional recipes, and offer homemade sauces. Rating: below average.

Very good eastern food. Not expensive, nice sharing idea, each dish is 4 pieces, from E8 to 10 (or more if you order special items). Very good bottle of white wine (Geil) for E30. Service is excellent (they do not throw all dishes at once on the table, very nice waitress). The place is not the best looking place, but who cares with this kind of food?

Unfortunately, the quality is no longer comparable to the yumcha from 5+ years ago. I definitely wouldn't recommend it; both were extremely disappointed and didn't even want to eat it all.

One of my favorite restaurants in Berlin for 14 years now. It's like family, you always feel welcome, and the food has been consistently of excellent quality for years. I highly recommend it to everyone. If you love really good Chinese dumplings, you're in the right place. All the other dishes, such as the beef strips, spring rolls, and chicken meatballs, are also excellent!

Super delicious food, very friendly service. It's a bit cramped and noisy. But the food is worth it three times over.

Absolutely loved our dinner at Yumcha Heroes! The food was delicious every dish felt fresh and full of flavor. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and attentive, recommending the best plates and wines so we could really taste the highlights of the menu. Great vibe, great service, and overall a perfect evening. Highly recommend!

Very authentic and classic Dim Sum

Unfortunately, I found the dumplings very disappointing in terms of taste (and price). The dipping sauces were Chinese vinegar and sweet and sour sauce?! A bit odd. The dumplings' fillings were rather dry, and there were far too many vegetables in both the pork and shrimp dumplings. The dough was far too dry and doughy in consistency and burst easily. I wouldn't recommend eating dumplings there. The only positive aspect was that they were really hot. But unfortunately, it wasn't worth burning your mouth for. When paying by card, the lowest tip option is 10%, which I personally find pretty cheeky.

Really nice place a bit off the beaten track. Everything I had was delicious, served quickly, and with great service. However, they don't have any sort of rice or other accompaniments.

The dumplings are bigger than I imagined. The Shanghai dumplings tasted the best. The apple and cucumber drink is a must! I'll definitely be back!

Very tasty dumplings with lots of filling. Unfortunately, they aren't particularly sturdy and fall apart when you try to lift them. We had steamed and fried dumplings. Both varieties are unstable, which makes them difficult to eat. Otherwise, everything was fine. Since it's a bit too expensive for me, I only go if I have a voucher through the app.

If you're in Berlin, you absolutely have to stop by this place! My husband, two friends, and I tried this truly excellent Chinese restaurant! We had a variety of dumplings and a few other dishes! The service and staff are excellent. I highly recommend it!

Been coming here for many years. The dumplings are still great, but the quality of the side dishes are not so good any more. Had edamame which had been cooked way too long 😢 The atmosphere is also too hectic now. Focus is to have as many people as possible through the tables.

Contrary to the many good to very good reviews, I didn't think the food or the dumplings tasted good. They were large, but €8 for four dumplings? The restaurant was very busy, but almost exclusively with Europeans. As an Asian, I don't think the dumplings tasted even a hint of Asian. There were only two sauces, which were already on the table in two bowls: soy sauce and sweet and sour sauce. We only received two more bowls upon request. Other sauces, such as chili oil, weren't available. I found them visually interesting because of the colors. I paid a little over €40 for three dumplings, one squid ring, and a bottle of water. As an Asian, I can't recommend Yum Cha Heroes.

Amazing food and the best service!!!

The taste was good, but the service (at times) was abysmal. I ordered a drink, and when I got it, I was told that our 2-hour window for the table ended in 5 minutes. When I pointed out that I couldn't gulp down my drink in 5 minutes, I was told they could just fill it for me to go – a complete disgrace. They're supposed to tell me this while I was ordering, but not like that. After several visits, this was my last. There are plenty of other dumpling restaurants in Berlin with better service and nicer interiors.

I’ve been coming here on and off over the past few years. The dumplings are decent — the fillings are flavorful and satisfying, though the dough is a bit thicker than I personally prefer. The service is always friendly and the atmosphere is pleasant, making it a nice spot for a casual meal. Worth a visit if you’re in the area and craving dumplings.

We don’t like how they try to “optimize” their menu removing some fish meals and aiming towards more pricey pieces.

Amazing! DimSum! Edamame, cucumber salad. Chicken dumpling spicy prawn, vegetarian tofu stir fry, vegetarian soup dumplings- all so amazing we came back the next night!! Waitress was amazing!

NEVER! Risk of food poisoning!!! I had a delivery from this place on a Saturday afternoon. After about 10 hours, my problems started. I had 5 days of hell. Result of the tests: E coli infection. Basically they delivered fecal matter!

Everytime I go to Berlin I always pass by for lunch, it is one of my favourite restaurants. On lunchtime they have a menu with a soup (with 3 dumplings) and 4 more dumplings on the side. I highly suggest the beef with black pepper and the veggie options! The staff is very friendly attentive. Highly recommended!

Unfortunately it's not very comfortable, but the dumplings and all the other dishes make up for it. The food is perfect and through a large pane of glass you can see that everything is actually freshly prepared to perfection. In addition to the dumplings, the ribs are particularly recommended. Good wines and non-alcoholic drinks as well as always friendly, fast service.

The food is just excellent! Out of this world especially the blackbeef dim-sums and the spare-ribs! Food arrived quickly, service was friendly and very helpful with tips, and the smoothly shakes were also a hit. Only minor point, is place is sooo popular there are a lot of delivery people coming to collect food, so a lot of the staff were running up and down the isles to collect orders and hand-them over which gave it a kinda rushed/busy atmosphere which kept taking attention away. Still, we are going back again very soon!

Really impressed with the food and service here! Looks like it would be a cold restaurant, but it is surprisingly cosy! Dumplings were all great and the ribs were great also. Service was really friendly from everybody we interacted with and the prices were extremely reasonable. Wish I’d found here sooner :)

Best dumplings I've had in Berlin! Too bad about the sometimes terrible service. I've had ok service here two times, and terrible service once. The waiters almost seemed like they avoid eye contact when walking through the room. We wanted to order something more, and in the end (after maybe 15 minutes trying to get their attention) had to get up and go find a waiter ourselves (he was on his phone in the back). And as we were paying, the waiter was terribly intense about the tip, which was really uncomfortable. First he asked "how much tip will you give" when typing in the amount on the card machine. When we said we would leave cash on the table, and started putting our coats on, reminded us "don't forget to leave the tip..". In the end he came and said "if you did not want to give tip, you could have just said so, no need to lie about it". We were shocked. And he repeated annoyed "no need to lie". Not exactly a nice experience - but the dumplings are still absolutely wonderful.

The food is very good, but also very special and the portions are also quite small. I found it quite narrow and very loud.

Ate Chinese for the first time and it pleasantly surprised me and was very delicious. Absolute recommendation!

These are my favourite dumplings in Berlin! The best part is the generous portion of filling and the juicy texture with proper seasoning. It can be enjoyed without a sauce! My favourite for dinner will be the chicken and lamb and for takeout lamb and shrimp. I also tried the ribs and they were nice but not crunchy. All in all never disappointed from this place! A bit pricey but you get quality!

The glutinous rice chicken wrap is 95 percent tasteless rice with bits of chicken.

Food is prepared in the back of the room behind a glass wall - lots of spices - which makes it difficult to identify what you are actually eating. Lamb soup tastes like veggie soup - octopus like candy… - staff friendly - salad was taken off the bill.

Qualität der Gerichte ist sehr gut, der Service freundlich. Preislich an der Schmerzgrenze für das, was es ist, und die Lage. Klar zu empfehlen

“Wait to be seated” i.e. you are always assigned the currently worst seat. I've been observing this phenomenon for a while now. I then had a conversation with the service and it turned out that the good seats had suddenly not been reserved. I suspect they want to attract potential walk-in customers with the sunny spots, or the service wants to keep its radius small. This system can ruin the evening for the guest. Too bad

I'm not adding anything new when I say that these are the best Dumplings in Berlin! There is no point in ordering any other Main dishes, it's just a waste of space for more Dumplings. There's no point in eating breakfast either, as this too only wastes space for more Dumplings. Surgically enlarging one's stomache is a good call bevore Visiting this place, as this provides more space for more delicious Dumplings. The only downside of eating here is that all other Dumplings will be ruined forever, as they will pale in comparison to these artfully crafted masterpieces of deliciousness.

We ordered green veggie dumplings, su bao and a homemade lemonade. While the dishes were generally tasty, there was a noticeable lack of salt, which detracted from the enjoyment. Another negative experience was the service: even though we arrived an hour before the restaurant closed, we were strongly pressured to order and eat quickly. Raising the chairs while we were still present increased the feeling of being unwelcome. Nevertheless, the quality of the food was overall satisfactory.

The dumplings were tasty despite having thick doughs. It is a fusion dim sum place, nothing traditional. Lunch menu was one dim sum and one soup with dumpling for 13 euro.

Unfriendly waiters, slow service. It's better to look for good alternatives on the side streets.

We ordered and unfortunately it was a failure across the board. The cucumber salad: huge tankards simply soaked in rice vinegar. Bao Veg: Neutral in taste. Only the black beef and the shrimp were okay-ish. Sauces: 2 drops of soy, a little vinegar and the standard sweet and sour sauce from the Asia Späti. For 60 EUR it's a disgrace. Sorry. Never again.

I've never had dumplings before and you have to like them! It wasn't my taste! Regardless of whether it was chicken, duck or beef, I couldn't really tell a difference. Steamed or fried, no big difference either. But tastes are different and there are definitely many people who like to eat dumplings. The service was good, the benches were hard and uncomfortable!

We visit Yumcha often :) A small but very nice shop with authentic Chinese cuisine. The prices are reasonable and the staff is quick to be friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately the taste was very poor. Everything is bland, it is served without praise and there isn't really any sauces other than soy sauces and the usual ready-made sweet chili. You have to say hello to the service first in order to be noticed and then they don't greet you back but just ask you what you want... I would like a friendly waiter first and then that the things taste really good when you pay 8 euros for two small shrimps with some Reia. Well, there are plenty of other shops with dumplings in Berlin :)

STAY AWAY! payment fraud with double payment pos. they just sent some emails from sum up that i did receive my money back but i didnt. The case is sent to european consumer center surveillance

Great dumplings and extremely nice service

Interesting place with yummy food. Veggie dumplings and silken tofu were tender, tasty and fresh. You could see dumplings are hand made. Laid out ambience adds to the overall experience. Recommended.

Unfortunately, the octopus salad was very carelessly prepared and had hardly any taste. The octopus also had a very hard rubbery texture. In general, the ambience and service are more satisfactory than pleasant.

Amazing food, service and atmosphere!

We tried almost everything from the menu and all food was amazing. If I had to pick favorites it would be dumplings with duck and chestnut, pork ribs and spicy chocolate. Great food, quick and kind service, and so interesting "hidden" toilet area (design worth of mentioning and seeing 🤓) - all the reasons to definitely come back again.

Love this place! It’s cozy and the terrace is amazing in summer. It’s affordable and the staff is really nice. My favourite dishes are the black beef soup, black beef dumplings, the honey spare ribs and the lemonade. I’ve been coming here for 4 years and I still love it :)

The appetizers were amazing - we ordered cucumbers and silken tofu and were in owe! The vege dumplings were so so - they were a bit hard, were falling apart which made them a bit difficult to eat. Dessert was supposed to be “2 dumplings” but they’re buns instead. Overall ok, but I’d come back for appetizers only.

Place was about half full. Waited over 20 minutes to place my order. The man next to me, who arrived much after me, not only got to place his order first, he had his drink and veg before they spoke to me. Told tge waiter who collected my plates I would like tge check. I proceeded to be ignored another 20 minutes. Not worth what was otherwise, good, but not great, food.

We had an amazing server! He noticed our group about to order a ton of food at once and he came by and said to order a few at a time. The plates were so good! He had a few dishes he recommended and they were delicious!

Chinese restaurant with all kinds of fried and steamed dumplings. The portions were quite small for the high price, and the staff was attentive. The location was uninviting and very spartan; people sat quite close together.

The food was okay. Definitely not the best dumplings yon can get in Berlin but alright. Just a bit overpriced in my opinion and the service wasn't very attentive. Also different kind of sauces on the table would be great!
