Yin Seafood Restaurant in Hamburg

This Chinese restaurant uses fresh seafood. The fish was very fresh and the cooking and seasoning was exquisite - it was absolutely delicious! They served the whole fish on a huge plate. I was worried I wouldn't be able to finish it, but it was so delicious I couldn't stop eating it all. The mapo tofu wasn't too spicy, and the pepper flavor was very noticeable. It was a little different in taste from the mapo tofu I eat in Japan, but I was very satisfied. It seems that cooked shrimp and other ingredients are a specialty, but I didn't order it this time, so I would definitely like to try it next time.

We went there with the whole family for a bowl meal – duck and chicken. We had so much to eat, and the service was incredibly friendly, attentive, and funny; we had a good laugh. The food was absolutely delicious. They even had all the trimmings – scissors, carving tools, gloves, and aprons. The dessert was divine: baked bananas, sesame green tea ice cream, and mango sago – all absolutely wonderful and delicious. The duck was incredibly crispy and tasted amazing. It was a fantastic experience, and we'll definitely be back! 👋

The food was really delicious, although the seafood was a bit overcooked for my taste. IMPORTANT! The server (the gentleman is ALWAYS present) reacted very unprofessionally and condescendingly to a person with severe allergies. Unfortunately, I feel comfortable in his presence. I assume he's the head of service. Please work more calmly and professionally in the future, instead of being so nervous and somewhat disrespectful to guests. Thank you.

We had reserved a table for 7 pm, but still had to wait outside for about 30 minutes. After we finally sat down, it took almost another hour for the food to arrive. Unfortunately, the service was very inattentive and not particularly friendly. We ordered the famous seafood bowl – it was indeed large and tasted okay, but the price-performance ratio simply wasn't right. Overall, we were quite disappointed and wouldn't go back.

People, beware of these rip-off artists. They charge twice for meals for two people. Of course, they only inform you about this later. The food itself is like any other seafood restaurant... some of it even worse. The location is close to the harbor, but you're sitting in a building with no real atmosphere, without a view. Don't bother yourself and save your money; go to much better and more reasonably priced restaurants in Hamburg. €50-60 per person is no longer reasonable.

Great restaurant. We had a seafood platter and the half duck with Housin sauce, both delicious! As a welcome from the kitchen, we were served a spicy/sour pickled radish, which absolutely surprised us; it was truly delicious!

I've been there twice and I'm thrilled with the food! We were a bit unsure about the surroundings at first, but it was deceptive. After our experience, it seems like a hidden gem :) The portions are generous. The value for money is more than excellent. The seafood tasted very fresh. The reddish pan was the seafood boile with lobster for three people. The second pan was the H3 for two people, and the price was more than worth five stars. You should also try the sago there. Both as a drink and as a dessert (to us, uninformed, it seemed like the same thing).

A great restaurant with a diverse menu. The restaurant is somewhat hidden away with a very cozy atmosphere. The starters were salmon and tuna tartar. Both highly recommended. The main courses were also very tasty. The service was also very good, so this place definitely deserves 5 stars.

This was my second visit since I really enjoy seafood, and overall the food was tasty. The vongole, though, had a strong Chinese-style seasoning that didn’t quite suit my taste. The seafood set comes in a very generous portion, so it’s worth considering before you order. Out of everything we tried, the fried rice was definitely the highlight. Just a note—English isn’t widely spoken here, so keep that in mind when visiting.

Today I visited Yin. I ordered the mixed plated seafood with a small portion of pointed cabbage, ;-) all to go. While I waited, I looked around the restaurant; it was beautifully decorated, and the staff was consistently friendly and accommodating. The food was very good—delicious rice, a selection of fish, including sea bass, tuna, and salmon, with vegetables, including the fresh and crisp pointed cabbage as an extra. I'd be happy to come back.

I honestly can't judge. I think Asians can be happy here because of the many unusual offerings. As a German, I didn't even dare to try the temptations that actually sounded tempting and new, because I didn't know how I would eat them. I didn't want to look like an idiot. So I ordered things that were relatively safe for me. And they were actually okay. But the restaurant can certainly offer much more if you're willing to embrace it...

We went there based on an Instagram recommendation. The seafood was okay, the curry was uncooked and only spicy, like a regular Chinese restaurant. Warning: We were practically kicked out around 3 p.m., as they always take a break then. Be careful: you can make reservations online for 3 p.m.!

The prawns from the Typhoon Shelter and the clams in the picture are great. The stir-fried lettuce is not the kind of lettuce you get in China, but rather lettuce, although they are relatives.

The ambiance is certainly unique, but at full capacity, it gets quite loud. The noise level can make conversation significantly more difficult – so Yin isn't really the first choice for a quiet or romantic dinner. Conclusion: Absolutely top-notch cuisine, atmosphere could be improved – we'd happily return, but more for the food than for the occasion.

My husband (a German from Hamburg) and I (a Chinese woman) have been regulars here since it opened. Every dish at Yin Seafood is delicious, and I'm very happy to be able to eat such authentic and delicious seafood in Germany.

We ate there with friends yesterday. The food was fresh. I can recommend it. But I had a complete disaster. I had the 104, a dish without fish! Unfortunately, I discovered a crab after three forksfuls. And the timing was a complete disaster. The starters all came out different times; there were four of us. Then two people's dishes came and the other two had to wait. My dish finally came after I asked. And the last dish came just as the other three had finished. A real shame. We even told the waiter this. Next time it would probably be different. Sorry, but there won't be a next time for me.

Our seafood restaurant in Hamburg has an Asian flair. We particularly recommend the seafood platter with lobster. It's different from the traditional seafood platters found in brasseries in France, as it's a hot dish here. Communication is a bit difficult for foreigners (no menu in English), but the large number of Asians is a testament to the quality of the place, which is renowned for its Asian cuisine. The wine selection is limited, but they're good. We'd love an English menu so we can browse the menu and discover new dishes.

Food was awesome. Canton style seafood place in Europe is very rare, usually they only carry a few dishes, but here I could find almost everything I miss about Hong Kong

Top top top! I had beef and for me it felt like Werder were playing the Champions League again. Super tender and the sauce...amazing! The blue swimming crabs (mild) were also great. Wir haben schon viele asiatische Restaurants besucht, daher war für uns das Yin Seafood Restaurant nur mittelmäßig. Das Personal war freundlich. Das Essen, was in Backpapier serviert wurde, hatte einfach zu viel Soße. Geschmack war ok.

Ordered fried fish and Squids. Fried fish taste fishy and Squids tastes pre-made food. That was Ok, until I got diarrhea today from the meal. And the place is overpriced for unfresh seafood. After writing the review, not only have I not received an apology from the owner but the owner complained to Google for defamation. Thanks to Google's justice, the review is now reinstated. I regret that I didn't report the incident to the local food safety authority at the time.

Yin Ji is as delicious as ever, and I just happened to be trying out the new ramen today. The hand-made noodles are different, and the texture is not the same. The noodles look a bit exquisite and translucent. It feels like eating soba noodles. Hope it will be online as soon as possible

As a Chinese woman, I have read and heard a lot of good things about the restaurant. When we came to Hamburg for a long weekend to visit the Christmas market, we planned our first lunch there. When we were there around 1 p.m. on Saturday, three tables were already occupied. The southern Chinese cellar was friendly and relaxed, and he also gave us good advice. The selection was large and very tempting. Although my companion is vegetarian, we ordered lobster for the large menu for two - the decision was right: everything was fresh, juicy, to the point! The rest was packed very carefully so that we could safely take it with us to Cologne. I happily enjoyed two more days of this.🥰 Another thing that pleasantly surprised us was the snow beer from my hometown. 😍 Now we have a good reason to come back to Hamburg!
