Rarely have I felt so uncomfortable as a guest as I did here! Again, we need to differentiate, and we will! The food (we had the set menu with wine pairing) was fantastic, however, the service was inadequate. We celebrated our 26th anniversary there. From the very beginning, we didn't feel welcome… You ALWAYS take off your coat and don't ask to take it to your seat, as you have an extra seat. Then there was no warm welcome, no "so glad you're here"... no! And then we were rushed through the menu – if you're going to give the table to two guests (yes, we knew we only had it until 9 pm – they needed the table, as we later saw, but not really!), you shouldn't offer them a six-course meal. No one even asked for a short break between courses, let alone an extra glass of wine or later coffee/digestif (an additional business opportunity?!?). As I said, we eat out often and are happy to spend money – here? No, we have never felt so uncomfortable as a guest.

This place was a total disaster. I had to wait an hour and a half for my food.

The experience was not bad but it needs a lot of improvement. I was there on 29th Nov 2020 at 9:30 PM session and I would like to share my experience honestly. - The food quality is average and it needs improvement. The chef was not friendly. - The safety procedures must be improved. Also, the Saftey supervisor (Waseem) was so rude and not friendly the seat belt was lose for my friend and they told us that the supervisor will re-check it but he didn’t and later when I told him, he responded carelessly that it’s ok. - You feel like they wanna finish the experience as soon as they can. The quality needs a lot of improvement. - The sound system and music should be improved. - The seats should be reserved upon reservation not randomly. - No value for money.

The food was a true culinary delight and tasted exceptionally good. The service was consistently professional and always attentive. The perfectly paired wines deserve special mention, as they complemented each dish beautifully. We were completely satisfied and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. It was a truly remarkable culinary experience.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Unforgettable Steak Experience at Heritage Steakhouse! Absolutely phenomenal! The steaks are top-tier—rich in flavor, perfectly cooked, and clearly sourced with care. We definitely recommend the Châteaubriand 500g (Schleswig-Holstein Dry Aged) for 2. The ambiance is stylish yet cozy, with beautiful views of the Alster that elevate the whole experience. Service was flawless: friendly, professional, and attentive throughout. A must-visit for any steak lover in Hamburg!

I don't think I've ever eaten so well in my life. The service was a bit slow at first, but then we discovered that there were several kitchen breakdowns. The wait was extremely worth it. My grandparents had the five-course meal and loved everything about it. As a vegetarian, I also had a great time and ate incredibly well. The waiters were extremely friendly and always up for a joke. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience.

We had the four-course menu and a truly wonderful evening. Many thanks to the entire team! Why was this evening so special? The menu was like a musical experience for me: first the violins begin, and suddenly a single, clear, beautiful note sounds, which shortly afterwards fades away. The food was exactly like that; time and again, a delicate, perfectly matching nuance of flavor surprised me and brought a smile to my face. I haven't eaten with such joy and curiosity in a long time, and I waited impatiently for the next course. The wine pairing was also excellent, even though I'm not usually a fan of it, as it often seems boring to me. Not so this evening! The sommelier created a wonderful harmony with boldly selected wines and high-quality products, which further enhanced the childlike joy of enjoying food. I was particularly delighted with the Pinot Gris with its incredible mineral notes; thank you for this new taste experience! The menu was served by an exceptionally friendly and attentive service team. I loved that you weren't just served by one person, but rather experienced the entire team, a team of diverse characters who, like the menu itself, made the evening lively and exciting with their individuality. I'm already looking forward to the new menu in a few months and will definitely be back!

Lovely dinner at this place with view of Hamburg at night. The staffs are wonderful and very nice. If you have special event with your loved one or your friends or colleagues this place could become one of recommended one. The price of the food are reasonable considering the ambience and view. You get what you paid for.

I'm giving it two stars primarily for the service. It's rude, rushed, and impersonal, especially considering the prices. Especially on the part of the guy. His colleagues are definitely better. When you consider that the minimum tip is 10% of the final bill, it makes you a little angry. At those prices, we should be treated with kid gloves. The food is okay, but definitely not worth the price. The view is beautiful.

The Heritage Restaurant on the ninth floor of Le Méridien Hamburg undoubtedly scores points with its magnificent view over the Alster Lake – the view is particularly spectacular at sunset. Unfortunately, this impression was the only real highlight of our visit. The service seemed noticeably casual and, for the most part, simply absent. We waited a full 45 minutes for our main courses. The mineral water we ordered initially turned out to be merely sparkling tap water, and only after asking did we receive a bottle of Fachingen – for a hefty €10. The cuisine was also not convincing in terms of cuisine. The linguine with chanterelle mushrooms (€32) and the salmon on fregola sarda (€44) were not up to the standard of craftsmanship one would expect at these prices. The Parmesan, which we ordered later, took another ten minutes to arrive. The fregola arrived without being cooked to the right degree, and the broccoli served with the salmon seemed more raw than intentionally firm. The ambiance at the table was simple: sparse table setting, lacking the appealing details one might expect from a restaurant in this price range. Conclusion: Those who visit the Heritage are primarily paying for the fantastic view. The service and cuisine fall far short of expectations – and unfortunately, they don't justify the high price. It might be better to enjoy a cocktail at the bar and order a portion of fries. Both will undoubtedly arrive at your table faster, and you're not paying €80 for the view.

We had a truly lovely evening at Heritage Rooftop Bar. Arriving just before 7pm, we were lucky enough to catch the sunset from inside, with beautiful views and a relaxed, refined atmosphere. We ordered two cocktails – a Porn Star Martini and Cuban Meets France – and both were absolutely delightful. The presentation was elegant, and the drinks were impressively chilled without the need for added ice, allowing the full flavour of each to come through clearly. It made sipping them all the more enjoyable. The Porn Star Martini came with a small glass of champagne on the side – a thoughtful touch that helped cleanse the palate after the cocktail's sweet, fruity notes. The balance of flavours in both drinks showed real attention to detail. All in all, it was a fantastic experience – a perfect spot for enjoying sunset cocktails in style. Would definitely return!

Super bar....with a wonderful view of the Outer Alster

We celebrated our wedding anniversary and were absolutely thrilled. The reception at the rooftop bar for an aperitif was warm and offered a stunning backdrop. Afterwards, we went to the Heritage Restaurant. – a clear, serene atmosphere combined with a breathtaking view of the sunset in a pleasant, cozy lighting ambiance. The fine dining was creative, tasteful, and simply outstanding. Each course was bold, inspiring, and perfectly coordinated. A big thank you to "ROBERT" for the attentive, relaxed, yet professional service – just the right balance to make the evening unforgettable. We will definitely be back.

Visited the venue for a comedy event, and the view was amazing (see picture). The welcome was very warm. The price for a glass of wine and a beer was reasonable, but it fit the atmosphere.

We dined at the Heritage Restaurant at Le Méridien Hamburg last night and were very satisfied overall. The ambiance is beautiful, the view even more impressive – we particularly enjoyed the evening under a bright blue sky. The service was excellent: attentive, warm, and consistently friendly. The food also impressed us – especially the starter and dessert were excellent. The main course, the 32-course vegetarian linguini, could have been a bit more flavorful, but was still solid. All in all, a successful evening in a special setting, which we highly recommend.

So far always satisfied with the service, the food and the atmosphere. Since I'm still quite young, Heritage has a good balance between formal and casual for me. Yesterday, on Valentine's Day, I found the laissez-faire attitude of the employee with the pigtail too pronounced and therefore inappropriate. There were no explanations about the dishes and he served them on a more “bro-style” basis. In the meantime I felt more like I was in a restaurant in the Schanze. Other servers at Heritage take things a little more seriously and, as expected, appear more professional.

Yes outstanding view, good food, nice staff But It was on the list of the most romantic resto...????? When you have boumboum music in the back ground and ask to be change the answer is we can't??? The cocktails drink at 18 euros piece serve on regular glasses, total lack of little finesse touches that would have made it special. It was a birthday dinner and felt like a corporate dinner. Worth for the view,( so Go for a glass of wine ,) otherwise there are plenty of more causy , romantic places. How can a chain resto/hotel like "Meridien" have such poor music, and corporate ambience.??? at very expensive cost.....

The Heritage Restaurant is located in the Le Meridien Hotel, and a visit to this restaurant is an absolute MUST! Anyone who thinks they've experienced a true "flavor explosion" has either already been there or hasn't yet enjoyed this incredible experience. You should be aware that a visit here is not for those on a tight budget. A 5- to 6-course meal with drinks for two people can easily cost €800. But it's absolutely worth it! For me, it's the absolute number 1... but only if I get a reservation for one of the four tables on the "podium." It's quiet and relaxed there. I'm happy to stay there for the grand menu for 4 to 5 hours. The main tables further down offer an incredible view, but they're not discreet and are surrounded by 40+ people.

We only attended one event at the rooftop bar. But even that was worth a visit!

We had our wedding anniversary in 2025 yesterday. The reservation went smoothly, and we even got the window seat we wanted. The starter was the "Tuna Tataki," which was easy to share between two people; it was very delicious. The main courses were also delicious. Our concern was that the curry for the turbot fillet would be too spicy. The accompanying menu provided a separate sauceboat, assuring us that we could tone it down further with coconut milk if needed. A very pleasant evening with a magnificent view of the setting sun, one we'll remember for a long time. The chilled music was hardly intrusive.

Poor customer service. Disclaimer: This review relates exclusively to the customer service of the hotel/bar and does not include any personal experiences regarding the food or atmosphere. We wanted to make a reservation at the Heritage's rooftop bar for an upcoming birthday at the end of August. Even though the bar doesn't officially accept reservations, we contacted the Heritage by phone, spoke with a very friendly receptionist, and offered to transfer a certain minimum amount in advance to make the reservation possible. They then said that this was not out of the question. Afterward, an email was sent with the discussed points, and they assured us they would take care of it and get back to us. Five weeks, another call, and a reminder email later, we are still waiting in vain for a response from the hotel. I expect much more from a 4-star deluxe hotel. It's okay that an email can get lost sometimes. The fact that the employee specifically noted the information from the first email on the second call, followed by another reminder email two weeks later and still received no response, is disappointing for a location of this class. I sent a total of three emails and called once – it was impossible to get a response to my reservation request. It took another call to get a result. Perhaps it would have been better to book online via Open Table.... After the somewhat difficult booking "birth" (see above), I managed to get a wonderful table by the window overlooking the Alster. The view is simply sensational. The waiter (Ali) was exceptionally polite, friendly, and accommodating. We received excellent advice on our food and drink selections, as it turned out later. The meal (fillet steak) with chanterelle mushrooms, among other ingredients, was excellent; the meat was grilled to perfection. The wine was very good, and the dessert was also delicious. Overall, a wonderful experience, for which we expressed our appreciation with a generous tip. Many thanks again to Ali for his wonderful hospitality!

The atmosphere is very nice; reservations are recommended. It's very clean and very friendly. Prices could be a bit lower for the quantity and quality. Otherwise, it's very tasty. It's definitely worth a try.

DINNER WITH A VIEW PAR EXCELLENCE---NOT TO BE MISSED!!!Whether for a business meal, romantic dinner a deux or a wonderful meal with family the Heritage Hamburg starts you off on the right foot once you get into the express elevator outside the Le Meridien that whips you up to the Heritage in a blink of an eye. The view is astounding once you step out of the elevator and are led to your table--we were lucky enough, thanks to the Concierge, Herr Wagenfür, at the Hotel Atlantic, that a window front table was reserved for our family of 4. Alex our server arrived promptly to offer cocktails or an aperitif and recommended the Carrot Ginger soup with grilled prawn that I ended up having as an appetizer and was as good as he promised. Our table ordered both the amazing Pasta with Pfifferling and Spinach and Tomatoes as well as the Seezunge (Dover Sole) which was filleted table side and was a very generous portion and served with an excellent homemade hollandaise as well as fresh potatoes and spinach. We were so full we could not take advantage of the amazing desserts that included a lovely cheese assortment cart but we did have a shot of the Orange Blossom Geist they had amongst a cart of lovely after dinner drink options. Come for the View and the Food as well as the Service to match---a not to be missed on your next trip to Hamburg whether business or pleasure.

We visited the Heritage for our anniversary. TL;DR: It was an unforgettable experience and a wonderful evening. I found the reservation with a credit card strange, and I generally dislike this hurdle. However, the conditions are accommodating, and the reason is understandable. We were greeted warmly and shown to our table with a direct view of the Outer Alster Lake. For our anniversary, the restaurant gave us two glasses on the house. The advice regarding food and drinks was exemplary. I also really liked the water package concept. All the dishes were of very high quality and very attractively presented. The entire service staff was extremely attentive, helpful, and always available. I consider the pricing reasonable.

We had a truly amazing evening. We started with cocktails, all perfectly mixed and perfectly flavored. No outliers, simply well-executed. For starters, we had tartare with onsen egg. The egg was perfectly creamy, the tartare very finely balanced. A bit too much beetroot for my taste, but the combination was harmonious and well-thought-out. The main course: Chateaubriand for two, carved at the table. Perfectly cooked, great meat, perfectly cooked. The side dishes were equally impressive: the mashed potatoes were very aromatic, and the truffle fries with real truffles were, unfortunately, not a given in terms of quality. The green asparagus and chanterelle mushrooms were also excellent. The accompanying sauces were also well-rounded and precisely seasoned. To drink, we had the Castello di Querceto Colombi (Chianti Classico) so good that we ended up having three bottles. It paired perfectly with the meal. The view over the Alster at sunset completes the evening. The only downside: The interior is a bit dated in some places. It's not a problem, but a small update would improve the overall impression. Price-performance ratio: Absolutely fair by Hamburg standards, especially considering the quality, service, and location. In summary: Very good food, strong wine, professional service, and a view that's hard to beat. We'll definitely be back.

While the selection on the menu is rather small, it is very well-chosen. We were particularly impressed by the regular changing dishes, which makes the restaurant exciting and varied. The value for money was also good – you pay a little more, but you get quality in return. A real highlight is the view: spectacular and definitely an experience in itself. Especially at sunset, the view is truly unforgettable. However, there were a few points that somewhat dampened the overall impression. Unfortunately, the service was not consistently friendly – ​​at times, we felt like we were being "rushed through," which made the atmosphere a bit unpleasant. In addition, we were only allowed to use our table for two hours, which is understandable. However, we had to wait around 45 minutes from the starter to the main course, which wasn't ideal under time pressure. Overall, it felt a bit rushed, partly because some tables were double-booked. Conclusion: The HERITAGE impresses with excellent food, a fantastic view, and a well-thought-out culinary concept. However, there is still room for improvement in terms of service and timing.

We enjoyed a thoroughly enjoyable evening at Heritage for our 10th wedding anniversary. From the welcome at the reception with congratulations on your anniversary, to the incredibly friendly service at the table, the magnificent ambiance with a view of Hamburg and the Alster Lake, and the consistently perfect food (tuna appetizer, salmon, flank steak, side dishes, etc.) including accompanying drinks (aperitif, wine), everything was simply 5 stars. And at the end, there was even a small gift. We would love to come back.

We went there for dinner and the views during sunset were quite beautiful. The service was nice and quick. We ordered the heritage tartar, which was awesome, the 350g asparagus (I'd recommend sharing it because it gets tiring quickly), and the Dover sole, which had excellent quality. For dessert, we tried the 'I Love Chocolate,' which is basically a chocolate coulant - not worth its price though. Overall, it was a nice experience.

We had reserved a table for 7 people. Unfortunately, the restaurant doesn't live up to its promise of prices. First, they forgot the drinks menu, and then only brought one for the entire table. The ordered drinks took 15 minutes to arrive. The asparagus soup tasted like green beans. Furthermore, you expect a steak for 55 euros to be cooked to perfection and that the selected cut isn't so riddled with tendons that you can still chew it. The fries were lukewarm and oversalted. One dish was missing the advertised morels, which the waiter only believed after pointing out the menu. You could have had all of this at Blockhaus for half the price, if not better. It's a shame, because the view and the cocktails were fantastic.

Food, drinks, service, ambience everything was perfect! I enjoyed our wedding menu last year with my husband and relatives in a separate room. It was the tastiest thing any of us have ever eaten! We are really looking forward to celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary at Heritage. This restaurant is a must when you are in Hamburg, highly recommended, our favorite restaurant. We will always come back.

We celebrated our wedding dinner with 22 people at Heritage. The view directly onto the Alster with the panoramic windows is an absolute dream. Axel Hertz took over the organization and nothing was missing. It was a perfect evening all around! The food and service a 10/10. We thank you for the unforgettable evening.

It's OK. Uncomfortable sitting. For a maximum of an hour it is ok to take in the flair of the Alster and to start the evening. You have to be lucky for service. Drinks very good. Best skinny in Hamburg, for connoisseurs. The beer is not my world people, Carlsberg tap is the minimum. Event with DJ, fantastic. For you as a tip and for me as a Hamburg patriot: you can tolerate everything, but placing a lady who has never learned the hospitality industry at the reception who welcomes you in a snooty manner is absolutely not okay. I'm only writing such a long review because this hotel deserves to be the absolute top in Hamburg. Good luck 🍀

I'm still thrilled - the Heritage in Hamburg really blew me away!!! The view was simply amazing, you could have sat there for hours and looked out. The meat was some of the best I've ever eaten - perfectly cooked, incredibly tender and full of flavor. And the service? Warm, attentive and just all around likeable. The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere on the 9th floor with a view of the Alster. The staff provides excellent service. The food is beautifully prepared. We had the 5 course menu. The cod starter was overly acidic for my taste. and the lobster a bit tough. When we moved to the rooftop bar, the view from our seat was missing. A successful evening.

Great view, nice restaurant, the price of the food is very exorbitant. If you order fillet medium well and get it rare, the 800 degree grill is of no use. Meat quality was very good, but the cooking point was a 6. With a moderate side dish €60.00. The dessert for €18.00 was a disgrace, which made me stop looking for this place. Service was good at the beginning, but declined significantly as the number of guests increased. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is not right here.

The welcome and the view were great! Unfortunately the service forgot the water we ordered. When ordering, a colleague asked for pepper sauce. “No we didn’t.” Unfortunately, we also didn't get a satisfactory answer to the question of what a celery duck breast was. I ordered jus. Unfortunately, after we ordered, the starter took about 45 minutes. But it tasted great. Unfortunately, the main course took a similarly long time to arrive. When we got the main courses, all of the steaks were far past the cooking point and unfortunately my jus was more of a pepper sauce. We politely apologized for the failed cooking and were offered a dessert on the house. But since we assumed that the dessert would take about an hour, we decided instead to have a digestif. The ambience is great and all in all it was a really nice evening, but it doesn't justify the high price.

The location is great, there is a great view of the Alster from almost every place, certainly one of the most beautiful in Hamburg. The starters were all good, the dessert was even better. The meat for the main course wasn't cooked to the right point and had to go back to the kitchen and that was the case with almost all steaks. The dish of the day was a soup that was already served in a large pot for the business lunch...The staff is moderately motivated. Our request to move to the restaurant's bar after our meal was answered with the statement "then we have to clean two seats." Overall, you could do a lot more with this. The prices don't justify the food and service.

We wanted to spontaneously go out for dinner yesterday evening. We called the bar beforehand because the restaurant doesn't open until 6 p.m. and we were told that it was Wednesday and there was the possibility of coming over spontaneously. We were there at 6 p.m. sharp, no one was there eat. They are accompanied upstairs to us in the bar area, as we planned to eat first and then have something to drink until late. You can't deal with guests like that. Zero goodwill. Very inconvenient and there are better and friendlier restaurants and bars in Hamburg. By the way, the one star is only for the view. Unser erster Besuch im "Heritage" hat uns viel Spass gemacht: nicht nur ist der Blick über Hamburgs Außenalster ein Genuß, auch das Essen hat viel Freude gemacht: die Steaks waren auf den Punkt zubereitet: innen rosa und aussen leicht knusprig, so wie es bestellt war und sein soll. Auch die Beilagen waren abwechslungsreich und aromatisch, einzig der Blumenkohl war etwas bröselig und trocken, der kann sich noch verbessern (Feedback dazu hat die Bedienung professionell aufgenommen). Die Gerichte werden auf schönen, modernen Tellern angerichtet und sehen so auch noch sehr schön aus. Beim Service ist es etwas schwankend: den ganzen Abend über wechselt die Bedienung am Tisch durch und ist sehr unterschiedlich qualifiziert. Da vermisse ich noch etwas Qualität und ein Zuständigkeitsgefühl. Alles in allem aber ein gelungener Abend und wir kommen sicher gern wieder.

Lovely premises with a nice view and really delicious food. Approx. half of the staff were capable, but the experience was dragged down by the fact that the food was not presented at all. We only got to mention the main ingredient, e.g. "salmon", quickly and without explanation. The first time we waited to eat because we thought there was going to be a presentation. As we hadn't gone through the menu carefully, we didn't actually know what we were getting – e.g. which piece of meat we got for the main course (beef tenderloin, maybe?). It all tasted lovely though. The wine was presented nicely and matched the food well. All in all, delicious food and premises, but lack of presentation disappointed – especially at that price

We had a great experience at this Restaurant - food was top-class, the service very attentive and helpful and the atmosphere very special. I would certainly recommend, and will be back if I come back to Hamburg.

Wow, absolutely recommended! The best champagne I've ever drunk! (Ferrari Rosé) We had a wonderful pumpkin cream soup, followed by perfect truffle linguine and a very special dessert! Beautiful view of the Alster and the Hamburg skyline. Very professional and attentive staff, the service was perfect!

Every year New Year's Eve at HERITAGE is a special kind of celebration: delicious food, great views, beautiful atmosphere, attentive service and always the experience of how nice it is to spend time with new people.

Man fühlt sich unglaublich heimisch. Man wird wärmstens Empfangen und denkt zu keiner Zeit, dass man ignoriert wird. Es war insgesamt ein toller Abend.

Disappointing service and questionable behavior We visited this restaurant and overall we were very disappointed. The service was unprofessional and unpleasant. The service staff couldn't make any recommendations for their own menu, which is extremely questionable for a restaurant of this type. The behavior was generally rude and there were some comments that made us feel uncomfortable. What was particularly disturbing was that we had the impression that we were being treated differently after the waitress noticed that we spoke a different language. Whether this was due to personal unprofessionalism or a racist background remains to be seen - the result was in any case unacceptable. The food itself was mediocre, nothing special, which unfortunately couldn't save the overall impression of the evening. As a guest, you expect respectful treatment and a service staff who knows what they have to offer and can act competently. That wasn't the case here and we didn't feel welcome. Overall, our visit was disappointing and we unfortunately cannot recommend the restaurant based on these experiences.

Preis und Qualität der Speisen liegt weit auseinander. Würde für das Geld beim nächsten mal wo anders hin gehen.

Ich fragte unseren männlichen Kellner, ob er Seebarsch oder Steak empfiehlt. Er erklärte sarkastisch, dass das eine Fleisch und das andere Fisch sei, als ob wir es nicht wüssten. So ist feine Gastfreundschaft nirgendwo auf der Welt. Danach wechselte er mit einer à la-Kellnerin, um unseren Tisch zu bedienen, was sehr seltsam war, als ob er sich nicht mehr um uns kümmern wollte, da wir keine Deutschen sind, obwohl er perfekt Englisch spricht. Das Steak war innen auch medium rare, obwohl ich medium-well bestellt hatte. Allerdings haben sie den Essensfehler wieder wettgemacht. Aber für den Service, unglaublich.

We were there for brunch on Christmas Day. We were warmly welcomed in the hotel lobby with a glass of champagne. We were allowed to go up from 1 p.m. A warm welcome there too. We were escorted to our table. The view over the Alster was very impressive. Once we received our drinks we headed to the buffet. He was gigantic. A very tasty, extensive selection. The service was very attentive and friendly. We can only recommend this. Thank you

Fantastic view, great service and excellent quality of products. You pay for all of this but it's worth it. A wonderful experience for special occasions.

Wir haben zum zweiten Mal Silvester im Heritage verbracht. Alles war top: Menu, eine sehr aufmerksame Servicekraft, Deko, Musik. Beim Menu wurde auch verlässlich auf Unverträglichkeiten reagiert. Gerne wieder!

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve here. The staff was extremely friendly and unobtrusively attentive, we felt very comfortable. The 5 course menu is a delight. Every course is a special taste explosion. Thank you for this special evening.

Das Personal war sehr freundlich und unaufdringlich aufmerksam. Wir haben uns gut aufgehoben und gut beraten gefühlt.
