Enjoyed the sun in the Yenidze beer garden in beautiful imperial weather. The food was perfect as always.

In terms of food and service, they nailed it for sure. We went in the evening to enjoy our food with a beautiful sunset and believe me it seems magical.

We immersed ourselves in the world of fairy tales from 1001 Nights. A dreamlike, exciting and lively evening paired with sonic, poetic and musical elements from the Orient. Highly recommended!

I recently organized a dinner for 21 colleagues at this restaurant and had sent an email in advance with the names and their respective orders clearly listed. Unfortunately, despite this, their staff member still asked for the orders again, which caused unnecessary confusion. The restaurant itself offered very limited food options, especially for vegetarians, which was disappointing. Additionally, the seating arrangement was not ideal—there wasn't enough space to accommodate everyone together, and we ended up sitting in a circle, similar to a conference table. This setup made it difficult to communicate or interact with the other 10 members at the table. Considering the prices, I believe the restaurant needs significant improvements in both their service and overall customer experience. The staff was not very welcoming, which added to the overall dissatisfaction. While the experience was okay, there’s definitely room for improvement.

At first they thought it was a mosque. Then it turned out that this was an old tobacco factory of the early 20th century, built in oriental style. Now it is a large office center, the Yenidze Theater and a restaurant.

We were in the winter garden with several people. Food was okay, you got full but now nothing that I would go back a second time because of the food. Service was friendly.. We sat near the kitchen and here you should perhaps tell the team that you can hear the kitchen in the dining room.. it's not good if an employee burps loudly and celebrates.. sorry, that's not possible !

At first the property looks very inviting. However, the interior of the restaurant is very simple and is more reminiscent of a new apartment than a restaurant with an oriental flair. In addition, the view is not exactly the most beautiful and the service leaves a lot to be desired. To say something about the food, this has little to do with oriental cuisine, but is more similar to German home cooking, which, however, does not taste like grandma's, but rather like bought cheaply in the supermarket. I would not recommend this restaurant.

The food was OK. The organization and friendliness, however, still need to be improved. Reservations here are more of a wishful thinking on the part of the guest. The view from up here is great, as long as you can sit outside. In the lower area the building looks more like a functional building with only limited charm and that's it. The price-performance ratio is not right.

Yenidze is a former factory building producing cigarettes and is located in the city of Dresden in the Federal Republic of Germany. Jewish entrepreneur Hugo Zietz, the owner of the old factory, which has a unique architectural style that resembles a larger mosque, even named the factory after the tobacco-growing region of the then Ottoman Empire. In 1909, Martin Hammitzsch transformed the building into a large one with a glass dome and a minaret-shaped chimney. He designed it in mosque style. The colored glass dome was re-covered in 1966 using more restrained colors. The Reemtsma Group took over cigarette production in 1925 and continued to operate until 1953, even after the building was partially destroyed in the Second World War. After that, Yenidze was used as a storage and administration building for the Dresden tobacco purchasing Association, and in 1996 it was reopened as an office building after being restored to its original style. Today there is a restaurant in its dome. Near East readings and events are also held regularly.

The mulled wine wasn't bad. The duck is overcooked and dry. The sauce and potatoes are not tasty. Service is long. We came for a photo on the roof, but it was dark and they didn’t let us in.

We've eaten here a few times and it's always been really nice. The ambience is great and the view is really something different for Dresden. I would also particularly like to highlight the various offerings (theater, music, dance and singing). Together with a delicious meal it is really something great. I can recommend everyone to try it out. :)

You might expect a lot in the historic cityscape of Dresden, but probably not a mosque. The oriental building with the colored glass dome and the apparent minarets in the Friedrichstadt district attracts everyone's attention - and thus fulfills exactly the advertising purpose that tobacco importer Hugo Zietz wanted to achieve in 1908. Since no factory building was to destroy the cityscape at the time of construction, he decided to meet the requirement with an impressive construction. The building was named after the Yenidze growing region in northern Greece, from which the tobacco for the cigarettes manufactured in Dresden came from. Today the building is largely used as an office building. In the dome there is an oriental restaurant and a fairytale tent that is occasionally used as an art stage. Stories, dances and musical performances take you into the world of 1001 Nights.

We were there for Christmas dinner as a family. I'm so excited. It was all very tasty. There is a very nice all-round view. We'll definitely be back. I give it another five stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I was there 4 years ago. not much has changed. We were last there with the company for the Christmas party. The Danes and gentlemen make an effort and are friendly. The chef insists that everything is cooked according to the menu - deviations are not possible when it comes to the components. The selection of drinks is good and the food tastes good too. The ambience is okay. The dome is external to the restaurant - not accessible only during theater performances! Finding the toilets takes time and a sense of direction. The staircase to the restaurant is not the prettiest. First take the elevator and then down the hallway, which is covered with old carpet and it's easy to feel lost on the way. After 2 swing stairs of the slightly longer version, you'll be happy when you're at the top. Once every few years is perfectly fine if you get the beautiful view here.

Unfortunately the service was rather unfriendly. The atmosphere is 2000s chic. Nothing special. Food was okay but quite expensive.

Visit from 11/23/24 -The parking lot has no lighting and is pitch dark -Entrance to the restaurant, due to construction work, via a service path in the building... with a smell like floor wax -Despite reservations, we were placed on the lower floor and not at the window. According to the waitress, the upper floor would have a better view of the old town downstairs. This floor exudes more MITROPA charm. -We found the food...schnitzel for €22 and goulash for €23 rather expensive for this ambience. -We just didn't like it either. -We both had problems with digestion that evening and the following day...well, problems on the toilet -When the bill was handed over, parking fees for the dark parking lot were demanded -In short, unfortunately we didn't enjoy our visit to Yenidze at all, we won't recommend the restaurant and probably won't visit it again. VERY Pity

Attentive and friendly Staff. Great view of Dresden. My schnitzel for 21 euros plus 1 euro Euro for extra fried potatoes was thin and hard. The 2 tablespoons of fried potatoes looked lost on the plate. Everything is just my personal impression. But get up from the table hungry, I didn't actually want to. You try hard, but you can do better It still happens when you have guests would like to come back too.

The food was very good, but unfortunately it was cold. Very annoying for the price. Unfortunately it is not barrier-free either and is therefore difficult to reach for people with disabilities

A great experience at this place that offers a privileged view from above. The restaurant offers a traditional menu with typical Saxon and German cuisine. The waitress was friendly and efficient. The food was really delicious.

The quality of the food was very good, but the portions were not fair for the price. So you pay for the location/view and you have to keep that in mind! :) The elevator takes you up five floors and you also have to climb two flights of stairs. The view is of course breathtaking! Unfortunately, you are only allowed on the terrace if the weather conditions are "suitable".

The restaurant is located in the dome of the former cigarette factory, built in the oriental architectural style. The building and view of Dresden make the restaurant something special, from almost every table. Unfortunately, the furnishings break with the oriental flair. The dishes on offer are varied, the ones I tried or tried were all very nicely prepared and met my expectations. I give it 5 stars because the sauerbraten, which I enjoyed right down to the last bite, clearly exceeded my expectations, it was simply outstanding. The service was robust Saxon, friendly, committed, so I would be happy to recommend the restaurant.

You don't have to visit this restaurant. Atmosphere very cold. No music so you don't dare to talk because the other table can hear everything. We had reserved for our wedding anniversary. The decoration consisted of 6 red artificial rose petals and a 3-armed candlestick. Pathetic. The staff is as cool as the atmosphere of the place. The food was absolutely rubbish for this price. I had a salmon that was fried to death. The plate decoration...look for yourself 🙃My husband had a plaice. A lot around it with little plaice. So the best thing is the impressive building. We cannot in good conscience recommend it to anyone.

Stunning and beautiful historical building which looks like a mosque, but is actually a former cigarette factory. It is worth visiting the restaurant inside (located on the top floor) for a panoramic view of the city.

Das Restaurant hat eine außergewöhnliche Lage und bietet einen schönen Ausblick. Das Essen war wirklich sehr gut und der Service schnell und freundlich. Das Mobiliar ist ein wenig "in die Jahre gekommen" und dekorativ wirkt es auch veraltet, trotzdem ein gelungener Abend.

Great view, unfortunately we had to walk the last 2 floors - because the elevator was broken and only went up to the 5th floor - we decided to eat in the restaurant, not on the terrace... Roast lamb was very good in terms of taste, the brawn was also great, there wasn't that much going on in the restaurant, 3 tables were occupied, the rest was one floor down on the terrace... Service was good, every now and then when ordering you had the impression that it was all too much for you....when the elevator goes up again then we'll come back next year....

The restaurant scores particularly well in summer with its roof terrace, which offers a sublime panoramic view of the city and turns your stay into an experience. The gastronomy is good and the service is also good. The small round tables and chairs could be better.

The place is very interesting, but unfortunately the shaded areas on the roof terrace are all reserved and yet empty. After we had to sit in the sun for a few minutes without being served, we left without being able to order.

A very nice view over the roofs of Dresden. Small but fine menu at reasonable prices. The service is very nice, funny and accommodating. We enjoyed staying here and would recommend it to others. Vegetarian and, if desired, vegan dishes can be ordered.

The view is magnificent. The service was courteous and very friendly. The food is absolutely recommended. We had a wonderful view of Dresden and were then on the roof terrace. Of course it is quite windy there. At the moment the elevator does not go up to the restaurant due to construction work. The stairs are quite difficult for people who are not very good at walking. Unfortunately, the seats are also quite narrow, but there's probably no other way to solve that because of the curve. All in all, recommended, especially if you're looking for something unusual.

A place that has potential for more. The restaurant could use a breath of fresh air. Otherwise nice view and suitable for a satisfying coffee break.

Wir haben selten so schlecht gegessen. Das konnte leider auch die nette Bedienung nicht mehr wettmachen. Der Reis war kalt, die Zuccini haben die Pfanne mindestens. schon 2x gesehen, da war nichts mehr grün - ganz gruslig. Und dann noch der Preis, absoluter Reinfall das ganze.

Beautiful roof terrace above the roofs of Dresden. Great view of Dresden. Great building from 1907. Good, fast service with Dresden charm. We didn't eat, just drank good Apperol. The dome is great made of colorful glass. But you can't get in if there's no theater performance. Entrance at the back from the parking lot (public? but there is a large parking garage right next to it). Entrance from the back with elevator towards the restaurant, then various corridors and stairs towards the restaurant and then turn towards the roof terrace. Maybe there's a shorter way.

We visited the beer garden, unfortunately it is a rather unprofessional terrace bar. Concrete ambience.

The food was very poor considering the price. When they heard the Polish language, the service stopped being nice.

We were there on Monday and got a great spot on the roof terrace. From there you have a fantastic panoramic view and can see a great sunset in the evening. The waitresses were all very friendly and accommodating. The food came very quickly and was of fantastic quality, so the price-performance ratio was more than right. If I'm in Dresden again, I'll definitely come back.

The neo-Moorish, mosque-like building of the former Yenidze Tobacco Factory in Dresden. Its name comes from the town where it imported tobacco. It was built between 1907-1909 according to the plans of the architect Martin Hammitzsch. Today it is a building with a social role (offices, restaurant).

Food looked great, was ok. The male waitress was nice and attentive, the ladies were allowed to practice with me. We came spontaneously and only got a seat in the middle. We didn't care, but it was very stuffy there because there was no air supply.

My husband and I were able to spend a wonderful wedding anniversary here. The view that you can enjoy of Dresden is already worth recommending. The staff is very friendly and happy to joke at any time. The menu is oriental, but even if you don't like that, you can still find delicious dishes. We had reserved in advance, which I would definitely recommend, even on Fridays and Saturdays. The restaurant was busy, but there wasn't a long wait. In terms of price, I would classify the restaurant in the middle range. We won't wait too long before our next visit.

Great location with an impressive roof terrace. Unfortunately the waiter is completely out of place. We ordered food and asked again after a while. "Is in processing" More than half an hour later we paid and left. Guests who arrived long after us had already had their food. With four tables occupied, this must be noticeable. A former tobacco factory with a very oriental look. There is a restaurant in the glass dome. Popularly known as the Cigarette Mosque.

A bit strenuous to reach - via numerous trepoons. You will be rewarded with a beautiful view of Dresden's old town and very friendly service!

At first we thought it was a mosque, but there was this great restaurant on the 6th and 7th floors. Restaurant with a roof terrace and above it a restaurant in the dome of the building. We were completely satisfied. You have to climb stairs for the last 2 floors.
