We are guests in Dresden and went to Alex for the first time today. Cheeseburgers with fries were popular with us and completely picked us up. I've eaten very, very good fries before, but these were absolutely amazing. Personally, it ranks second in my ranking. I only had better ones in the Domrep, as they were fried in beef fat. For dessert we had carrot cake. This cake literally killed the bird. Old butterfly, heaven on earth. We'll definitely be back. Thank you for this great experience.

Typical Alex. There's not much to complain about here. Here you know what you are getting and you won't be disappointed. In the summer the outdoor space could be twice as large and it still wouldn't be enough. The shop is recommended. Staff very friendly. Cleanliness was ok according to the number of guests. Prices for Dresden city center are humane. We'll definitely be back!

Today was a beautiful sunny day. The outside seats were very well filled, but we were still able to sit down with a couple at the table for four. At some point he got his beer, a little later she got her Aperol. None of the waitresses even looked at us, let alone asked what we wanted. Even a timid speech came to nothing. Great location Went there twice in a row for the breakfast buffet. Everything you want/need is there, great selection, everything is fresh, even some components have been replaced. The service is very nice and attentive. There is a play area for children - which of course looks well used, but better than none and I know that many parents don't pay attention to how the children use it. Location is great and invitingly decorated. Thank you very much for that 🤗

We went here for brunch and were not disappointed - they have everything your heart desires and for a very reasonable price. The staff was very friendly, despite the high occupancy in the restaurant. At times I found it difficult to have a conversation because it was very loud, but otherwise I was very satisfied.

Great breakfast buffet, cool ambience, friendly service.

Part of the outdoor area was busy with customers. We sat down directly at the table next to it. After the staff walked past us several times without comment, I asked if we could order. I was then informed that the part was still closed and we would not be served there. It's a shame that in addition to the service concept, there was neither friendliness, thoughtfulness nor the foresight to offer potentially paying customers a place inside.

The employees were totally friendly & accommodating. Barely entered the restaurant, I had a spot in no time - TOP! It also felt very comfortable.

We ordered two beers and two starters (pizza rolls and nachos). It's packed with people and they still served us quickly. Perfect for a bite to eat in the center of Dresden's historic centre.

Food was tasty, a bit pricey but within reason, the service was a bit overwhelmed on an Easter Sunday but we expected that. The ambience is nice but it was very crowded when we visited on Sunday. All in all, it's good and you should stop by if you're hungry for creative food.

Location is nice, the lemonades are delicious. However, the food is bad; it tastes better in a cafeteria or canteen. Prices are also far too high for that.

We really enjoy going to Alex for brunch. The food is always good, but I miss a few vegan alternatives at the breakfast buffet. A reservation in advance is definitely necessary as the Alex is always very busy.

Bin das zweite Mal hier. Beide Bedienungen schnell . Das erste Mal war eine Dame als Kellnerin für mich zuständig. Sie war mit Leib und Seele Kellnerin. Die Terasse war voll. Der heutige Kellner war schnell und freundlich .

Nice staff! Nice atmosphere and the food was great. I can personally recommend the "Ugly" burger, strange name but tastes ultra hearty. I paid ~30€ for a fries with the citizen and 2x 330ml cola but it's worth it.

A very tasty breakfast buffet. Cheaper and better than most hotels. Large selection that leaves nothing to be desired. And the scrambled eggs are great. For me the most important thing at breakfast.

Very nice restaurant. Waiting time (for 6 people) at high capacity approx. 25 minutes. The burgers are highly recommended and filling, but the fries are a bit too expensive for the quantity at €6.

Six of us had dinner today, Saturday at 3:30 p.m. Service was very good, friendly and quick. The food was also really tasty - the ambience itself was also nice, but the round tables are stupid and it is relatively loud. We would still come back.

It's a great place located in the old town square, we came across the open buffet breakfast and you pay 20.90€ per person. All the products I bought at the open buffet breakfast were delicious, but the variety could be increased, such as greens, tomato-cucumber, fruit plate, 🥐 varieties.

Were here today on Sunday, a very nice large shop, the bear dances here, sat outside in the sun, fast, friendly staff, a very large, extensive range, we can only recommend it. Enjoyed the time very much.

Food was good home cooking. Tomato soup, fish & chips, pasta etc were really tasty and good value for money considering the location. Homemade lemonade was also good, but the price was a little higher. But the taste is great. It can be loud and hustle and bustle, I personally didn't think it was that bad, but it might not be for everyone. Service was super nice and in a good mood and quick.

The portions were quite small, but sufficient. I ordered the T-bone steak "well done" - it was still partly bloody, but that happens sometimes. I found the soft drinks to be overpriced. The mirrors in the location were pretty tarnished. The staff partially removed the table decorations before we finished our visit. That's why only 4/5 each 🌟

Good food, but chaotic service during busy times The food was good but difficult to get a seat in summer. There was a waiter change during our visit, so we were charged immediately after ordering - somewhat unusual. When it's very crowded, everything seems a bit confusing. Otherwise a solid restaurant.

So let's put it this way, we were there. The Mojito is a 4/10, the Long Island Ice Tea and the Tequila Sunrise are quite solid with a 6/10. The Pina Colada is very sweet without cream, so 5/10. The raspberry Caipi is not recommended 0.5/10. Overall, relatively large cocktails but therefore also relatively expensive. There are definitely good other options too

It was a successful evening at Alex. The service staff is totally fine and you always feel like you are in good hands and arrived.

Had super nice service. It was very tidy and clean, unfortunately the chairs were a bit uncomfortable in the long run. Culinary recommendation - we had a bowl and the schnitzel with fresh mushrooms.

I’d rate it 0 or minus. Stay away from this worst ever restaurant with the most terrible service. For some reason, they deliberately ignored us after we asked at least three times for ordering food. We were sitting there for half an hour waiting for them just simply taking our simple order. Every waiter/waitress we asked deliberately said “wait for another person” or “wait” to us when they were not even that busy on a Monday afternoon 3pm. And a few of them were just standing at the bar counter chatting and trying not to eye contacting with us or just went attending other customers who came later than us and then still saying “wait” to us again and again. What on earth is the issue here. Of course we left this terrible place after wasting such time desperately trying to ask different waitresses/waiters to order food. We’ve been traveling around this area for a while. This is the only unacceptable service we’ve received so far. Not recommend it to any tourists.

We were there for dinner during the week. Drinks and food came quickly. We ordered a starter and 2 main courses. The main courses arrived while we were still eating the starters. I would communicate it differently next time, or I don't know it that way, but in the end it wasn't so wild. I had the chicken teriyaki and due to a food intolerance and because the number of guests wasn't too high, the wok vegetables were adjusted for me. That was great and everything tasted great! Thanks again to the lovely waiter. My companion had the lasagna Bolognese. According to the accompaniment, the sauce could have had a little more oomph/spice, but overall it was still tasty. The music was a bit too loud for us, but that's a matter of opinion. I also think it's great that individual dishes are changed every now and then at Alex and it's not the same thing year after year.

I was looking for food shortly before midnight and found it here (kitchen until 12:30 a.m.). The linguine burrata was very tasty, although nothing special. I can also recommend the Kaiserschmarrn orange bowl, although the Kaiserschmarrn could have been slightly warmer. The waitress was a bit confused that evening, but she was super friendly and service-oriented.

It's amazing how different system catering can be. You think you're eating what you know and boom, completely different. There were two of us yesterday. I wanted to eat my teriyaki chicken, which I know from Chemnitz. The poor sweet potato fries died a drowning death in the teriyaki sauce. Flesh also died twice. Yes, I could have said something, but I'm from the catering industry and don't trust any chef when it comes to returns. It's a shame I was happy for nothing. I'll go eat in Chemnitz again.

In a nationwide comparison, the best Alex we've been to so far. The staff is very friendly and attentive. A chef always came out and checked everything and everything was immediately refilled. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back. ❤️

This wasn't our first time at Alex. So far everything is good. But this time our reservation was… misplaced/forgotten….? We called... So someone took the reservation… We were then told that we had called the wrong one. We also went there to be on the safe side… It wasn't there...what a miracle... Thanks for nothing Alex at the castle.. They ruined our day with their misbehavior!

Always a good start to the day. Plenty and tasty selection at the breakfast buffet. Great service. Toilets could use a renovation. But otherwise a place to feel good.

Were at Sunday's today Brunch included. Great food, great ambience, great service. Immediately helpful and the drinks came very quickly. The drinks were also very tasty Gladly again! :)

While the atmosphere and the service were nice, the food was really not worth it's price in relation to portion size and quality.

I had the worst experience yesterday. The place was cold and the food was so bad I almost vomited. I had eaten the Thai curry, which didn't taste good and was so bad that it made me sick. The service was so rude, for the first 15/20 minutes no one came to check or ask if the food was good or not. And finally when we called them they complained about the Thai curry they gave me. All she had to say was, this is how we do it and it's not an Indian restaurant. I argued that I don't expect you to do it like an Indian restaurant, but at least it should be edible, should be even remotely similar to the authentic dish, or why would you have it on the menu. She didn't want to exchange the dish or fix the problem and said if I wanted something different I would have to pay more or even if I wanted to fix the same dish I would have to pay. I asked her to take the food as I didn't want to eat and she did. In the end I paid 25 euros for nothing.

Had a delicious meal with my daughter. Both had the schnitzel, she the classic and I with mushrooms. Smooth and friendly service. We didn't have a reservation and were able to choose a spot ourselves. The schnitzel, chicken, were very tender and exquisite. The fries with mayonnaise were also very tasty. In short, we ate here together for €42.50. 👍

December 2024, four people MY opinion, it's too loud in there for me, it's difficult to have a conversation. The drinks were as requested, but were all served individually. Also MY opinion again, I don't want to be called names by everyone, it might be appropriate here. But my in-laws, around 70 years old, didn't like the "you".

We were guests at Alex for the first time at the weekend. When we arrived around 2 p.m., many tables were occupied, but there were still enough free spaces for groups of people of different sizes. I had the impression that some of the tables were quite close together and were only separated by plants, for example. The service was very friendly and we didn't have to wait long for our order (Mediterranean chicken burger with sweet potato fries and chicken nuggets with fries). We enjoyed it very much and the portions were large enough that there was no room for dessert.

Basically we were very satisfied with our visit, we thought the drinks and food were great. It's just that the discrepancy between the price and what you get for it isn't always fair. There were three chicken balls in my husband's bowl, so for a chicken bowl for €17 I expect you won't skimp on the meat. Waitress was very friendly and attentive. Ambience just mixed - as Alex is - more made for the masses.

As most restaurants of the chain, it’s a cosy restaurant with good service, and good food with reasonable prices. The location of the restaurant is also good, having a nice view of historical landmarks.

Great place! I recommend! We were there on Friday around 12 noon. There were many empty seats. There is a great option until 13:00. You pay a fixed price and have breakfast available to you, which you can serve to your taste. I will indicate the cost at the end. What's on the menu? Scrambled eggs, omelettes, bacon, sausages, fresh salad, cucumbers, tomatoes, dressings, pancakes with cherries, salads, various sauces, pastries, granola, croissants, etc. For breakfast you will be served orange juice, which is included in the price. You can collect food as many times as you want. Hot drinks and dessert display available for an additional fee. In my case, the whole tomorrow with green tea cost 15 €. It was worth it. The food is very tasty. The staff is very friendly and polite. They will tell and show everything. The atmosphere inside is wonderful. It’s very cozy and no one crowds around. On Sunday the price was a little more expensive: 20 euros for breakfast without a hot drink. Will definitely come back again.

Being so central, it is usually very crowded. This makes it take a while for them to serve you, but the waiters are very attentive and friendly.

Spacious location with lots of space and space.. Tables and chairs are close together.. the service is very friendly and nice.. Special requests were fulfilled.. the dishes on the menu should definitely change more often.. thank you very much 😊

Freundlich empfangen ging es flink an einen kleinen Tisch, die Bestellung wurde zügig und sehr freundlich aufgenommen. Auf das Getränk und Essen musste nicht lang gewartet. Aufmerksam, blieb dann auch der Teller nicht lang stehen. Da komme ich bestimmt auch mal wieder wenn ich in der Stadt bin.

The location of the restaurant is very central and easily accessible. The Alex is always well attended, which speaks for you. The food was good and the ambience too. The service could have been more accommodating. The reports were often overlooked and one had the feeling that it would be nice if the table was cleared again. That was a shame.

A great restaurant and unlike a few years ago, the service is better and the staff are really interested in making sure you are looked after. Thank you very much
