YAFO in Berlin

Nice hidden gem. Delicious food recommended by the staff. The dishes were fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. Definitely a place we will come back to and recommend to friends.

The food was fantastic, and the service from almost all of the employees was super nice and professional. Unfortunately, there was one exception: an employee who was dressed in black today gave us the feeling that we should leave as quickly as possible with an unpleasant mood and a sharp look. She was completely rude. She even simply threw the receipt on the table - an absolute taboo in restaurant service. It's a shame because one bad service can ruin the entire positive experience. Really a big loss for such a great restaurant!

The food is delicious, the service is friendly. However, I didn't like it: Everything is exclusively in English. It is not possible to reserve a table via smartphone or telephone; using the computer I was only able to register on a waiting list (€10/person!). Draft beer was not available. The restaurant was full, very loud and restless. Considering all this, the price-performance ratio is not appropriate for me. A shop for Kreuzberg yuppies who are happy to spend a lot of money for bad service - not for me.

Lovely restaurant, really like the styling! And on such a surprising spot. The food and wines were amazing!! The waiters are really kind and helpful. One of them had also great humor and gave us a home made shot. We had a great time.

Everything was excellent! The food was delicious and the service impeccable

We enjoyed our dinner a lot. We haven’t been here for a while and they doubled the size of the portions. It used to be smaller portions that were more on the expensive size but now it’s very generous.

The food is amazing! Absolutely fantastic. The Service is quite nice and sweet, but we thought it was super unprofessional that we were stressed with the time. I think the time management of the table should be managed by the staff. We had to wait for the food in the beginning and for the Dessert as well, but still someone came around and told us there was only 45min, later 15min and then 5min left… Since paying quite a lot of money and very good food should also be relaxing and fun, I think the staff can also manage the timing of the table… I don’t want to be hurried with Deadlines in my Freetime as well…

Best chicken in town and perfect place for a date

The food was so amazing as was the overall atmosphere and vibe of this restaurant! The staff was so fun and gave such great recommendations - 10/10 would recommend. Came here for a bday celebration and it was such a great night💖Will def be going back when I’m back in Berlin!!

We went to YAFO for lunch today, it was my second visit. My rating couldn't be better. It was super relaxed for lunch, very cozy and the quality of the food was outstanding. The hummus is a poem and so is everything else we ordered. We'll definitely be back.

It was lovely. The portions could really be a bit bigger - I'm not a child but a grown up 😉 - but the taste was fantastic and the service - especially what we're used to in Berlin in so-called “in places” - was very courteous and friendly. Happy to come back soon.

Very friendly service and delicious food! It's better to have fewer starters and more main courses :) The feta chilli brûlée is just a dream - so definitely have it 🌶️🤤 Unfortunately the fruit mocktail was just a cherry banana juice…

Decent Palestinian/Lebanese food.

We were there on Saturday with a larger group of girls and the experience was extraordinary! The food was excellent - everything tasted incredibly good! The only thing better than the food was the service! Our waiter was very attentive, quick and friendly. He explained everything to us brilliantly and contributed to a perfect evening! An absolute recommendation!

Visiting Berlin and celebrated my birthday here with friends, the place itself is amazing, the atmosphere is great and designed perfectly, the food was amazing, some of the best I ate in the city in all my visits, everything from the cocktails to the starters and main dishes was superb, defintly recommend and would come back!

The chicken dish is amazing, Very friendly staff, the drink flat rate is not really worth it for a group but amazing for a date. The owner(?) running around in an undershirt was weird tho.

Good food, service was unpleasant and if we hadn't checked our bill we would have paid 27 euros more for food we didn't order. There was no apology.

Yafo was recommended to us by our resident cultural attaché Moritz. I needed to find a restaurant to accommodate 9 people, 6 of whom were either vegan or had specific dietary requirements, and was, according to my brief, “very, very, cool” Yafo exceeded expectations at every turn, from booking (where Adria always responded to my emails) all the way to our departure. The food was excellent, and the service very friendly on what was a very busy night. (The only reason for not giving 5 stars on service is they may have been under-staffed for how busy they were) Highly recommend.

Very cozy in the back yard, not too loud in the restaurant. The many candles create a romantic atmosphere. The selection of food is manageable but it is still difficult to decide because everything is very tasty. We took the menu

The food was special and very tasty. The service was super friendly and made good recommendations. I found the ambience pleasant because it didn't bother me that it was relatively loud. If you're looking for a quiet atmosphere, you've come to the wrong place.

Everything is a little too loveless.

We were a birthday party of seven and had the most wonderful time. The atmosphere at Yafo is warm and has an easy vibe. The team is welcoming, professional and cheerful. And the food was excellent. Fresh and tasty dishes that are fun to share.

Cozy and friendly environment. We were very good treated. We order a Chili feta, fried zucchinis and chicken everything was very tasty, I found exotic flavors. Definitely a nice experience. Good for a date if it’s not a busy hour.

Hidden inside a court yard in an otherwise unremarkable neighbourhood hides some of the best Mediterranean food possible. Found myself looking for a lunchspot and came across YAFO which at the time of visit (Dec 2024) had a great lunch deal, pita, main and limonade for €14. What followed can best be described as out of this world. The Pita was soft, plenty and warm, accompanying each dish like they were always meant to be. The lamb, soft, juicy, perfectly spiced. The hummus, smooth, creamy, flavourful. The cauliflower, perfectly roasted. This place is an homage to what good and simple food can be. The interior was warm and lovely decorated with staff being attentive and warm. To this day I still talk about this meal with my partner and we will both come back...hungry for more.

We really had a Great time! It was my Birthday Dinner and the Yafo staff really made it something special. Besides the really great food and cozy but chic atmosphere, their hospitality was really special, we even got a few very delicious espresso martini shots and dessert on the house. Thank you very much, we’ll definitely will be back!

Great food, great service, very lovely space

We visited Yafo last night for dinner and had a wonderful meal and experience. Every dish we had was fresh and full of flavour. Our server was very kind and the atmosphere was cozy. I highly recommend the Mezze Platter, especially the Schug dip! The Schug was so good that we ordered a second round of it. I highly recommend Yafo to anyone looking for a great Mediterranean spot in Berlin.

I had a small birthday party here, a few friends, eating and drinking… the service was excellent! Incredibly accommodating, kind and patient. The food was excellent (although you shouldn't order the cauliflower again, it obviously takes a long time, which we hadn't considered). Gladly again, highly recommended.

Accommodation at a very high level, the staff was courteous and friendly The food in the restaurant brings Mediterranean flavors combined with the surrounding European atmosphere and the results are particularly delicious. The drinking bar serves a wide range of options and the basic cocktails are made great and tasty. There is no doubt that we will return again 😄

We recently visited this charming restaurant and enjoyed both the food and wine, making for a pleasant dining experience However, one notable downside was the expectation that guests speak English. The lack of effort in communication was disappointing, as even basic greetings and phrases like Hallo/Tschüss and Bitte/Danke or simple menu-related phrases were not provided. I'm always happy to assist with English when the other person is struggling to find the right words. My friends aren't German native speakers either (and don’t understand this New-Berliners’ standard expectation towards everyone - no matter if tourists or locals). We shared emotionally charged conversations and it was demanding for them to frequently switch into a third language with waitstaff. I get that Berlin has become a multicultural city where it’s easy and tempting to live and even work without having to learn the language. But I think, people are not aware that it can be challenging for native Berliners (especially elderly) when being forced to speak a foreign language in their home town on a daily basis everywhere they go. It would be nice to come back one day and see this place can/want make non-english-speaking guests feel comfortable, so I could also bring my parents. Improving basic German communication would greatly enhance the experience and can be a big difference in making all guests feel welcome, regardless of their language proficiency.

This place is not even close to middle east food. Middle east is all about arabic art with a rich variety of cookings not just hummus. But since its an “israeli” restaurant they can do their best with trying to imitate, but in vain.

I love this place so much. The vibe and service are exceptional. The food is great as well. The coconut rose dessert is seriously one of the best desserts I ever had. Just wow!!!

Finally tried this place, would give 5 stars if they had gluten free bread but the rest of the food was very good, as was the service.

The photos don't do this beautiful place any justice. The service was perfect, very attentive with a berlin attitude, which I love. We shared the mezze, which included about 6 to 7 starters with bread included. Followed by 4 main dishes, mainly veggies, cause I am finished with a delicious spongy cake, which I didn't take a picture of. If you are hungry and enjoy fantastic food, grab your friends, book a table, and have a fabulous night.

Worst place to visit. Unfriendly people. Food was cold and clearly old and for weeks in the fridge! Not recommended!!

Great selection of dishes, also great to share at the table. Very tasty, everything we tried was very good. Unfortunately, it's very loud there and it's difficult to have a good conversation - I don't like yelling at the person I'm talking to. In the summer you can sit outside, which is definitely nice. Service was ok, not outstanding, and as is now unfortunately only English-speaking, but very fond of animals. I would come back, of course! The food was really delicious :-) and I forgot to take photos...

Yafo offers delicious food, which was served quickly as well as the drinks. The service was excellent, not too much, but personal and enganging, and all our questions about the food were answered immediatly. I my opinion the food is valid the money. The ambiente of the location did also match my taste. I will return.

Excellent Middle Eastern food. Everything we ate was very tasty. This place has a charm and not least because of the excellent service and pampering we received at Jaffa. We ordered a selection of dishes and we really liked the richly flavored hummus and the Saniya. . There is no doubt that on our next visit to Berlin we will return to "Jaffa". Highly recommended

Best middle eastern restaurant in Berlin hands-down! Everything is amazing from the super friendly staff, the ambiance, the music and of course, the food. The chef, Fadi, is insanely talented and runs an amazing operation in the kitchen. I love love love this place.

Top notch hospitality and amazing food! I’ve been a couple times here and always want to come back straight after! The food is so mouth watering (big fan of the tahini and chicken). The team: 10/10 Would definitely recommend!!

Very good food and it's just fun. If you want a quiet, sad candlelight dinner, this is of course not the place for you. Here is the energy of Berlin. Young and full of energy. You go to the second backyard into the historic factory floors. Exciting. Very friendly service! If you want to have a good time and eat very well at the same time, you have to go to Yafo. Since it is very popular, it is better to reserve a table in advance. Great!

Delicious Middle Eastern cuisine in a casual setting. Nice team; and at the end there was even a drink on the house. Was there for the second time and can definitely recommend YAFO.
