YAFO in Berlin

I love this place so much. The vibe and service are exceptional. The food is great as well. The coconut rose dessert is seriously one of the best desserts I ever had. Just wow!!!

Finally tried this place, would give 5 stars if they had gluten free bread but the rest of the food was very good, as was the service.

The photos don't do this beautiful place any justice. The service was perfect, very attentive with a berlin attitude, which I love. We shared the mezze, which included about 6 to 7 starters with bread included. Followed by 4 main dishes, mainly veggies, cause I am finished with a delicious spongy cake, which I didn't take a picture of. If you are hungry and enjoy fantastic food, grab your friends, book a table, and have a fabulous night.

Worst place to visit. Unfriendly people. Food was cold and clearly old and for weeks in the fridge! Not recommended!!

To sum it up: Amazing food, Service and a great evening! Definitely a big recommendation, you won't regret the experience!

Great selection of dishes, also great to share at the table. Very tasty, everything we tried was very good. Unfortunately, it's very loud there and it's difficult to have a good conversation - I don't like yelling at the person I'm talking to. In the summer you can sit outside, which is definitely nice. Service was ok, not outstanding, and as is now unfortunately only English-speaking, but very fond of animals. I would come back, of course! The food was really delicious :-) and I forgot to take photos...

Yafo offers delicious food, which was served quickly as well as the drinks. The service was excellent, not too much, but personal and enganging, and all our questions about the food were answered immediatly. I my opinion the food is valid the money. The ambiente of the location did also match my taste. I will return.

Feels like coming home to friends

Excellent Middle Eastern food. Everything we ate was very tasty. This place has a charm and not least because of the excellent service and pampering we received at Jaffa. We ordered a selection of dishes and we really liked the richly flavored hummus and the Saniya. . There is no doubt that on our next visit to Berlin we will return to "Jaffa". Highly recommended

Best middle eastern restaurant in Berlin hands-down! Everything is amazing from the super friendly staff, the ambiance, the music and of course, the food. The chef, Fadi, is insanely talented and runs an amazing operation in the kitchen. I love love love this place.

Top notch hospitality and amazing food! I’ve been a couple times here and always want to come back straight after! The food is so mouth watering (big fan of the tahini and chicken). The team: 10/10 Would definitely recommend!!

Very good food and it's just fun. If you want a quiet, sad candlelight dinner, this is of course not the place for you. Here is the energy of Berlin. Young and full of energy. You go to the second backyard into the historic factory floors. Exciting. Very friendly service! If you want to have a good time and eat very well at the same time, you have to go to Yafo. Since it is very popular, it is better to reserve a table in advance. Great!

Delicious Middle Eastern cuisine in a casual setting. Nice team; and at the end there was even a drink on the house. Was there for the second time and can definitely recommend YAFO.

Walk down sonnenallee and find something worthwhile. Overall a pretty bad experience. The food is below average (saying a lot in Berlin), the pita was stale, the veggie options flavourless, the meat dishes dry and overcooked. There are infinitely better options for middle eastern cuisine in this city. Also wildly horrifically overpriced. The service was average, not notable not bad

A wonderful place. Very, very tasty food and a very special atmosphere with loving, personal service. The music is great. We've had several great evenings there and it wasn't the last!

Our second time visiting in a year. Perhaps we romanticized our first visit a year back or perhaps we paid better attention to our food this second time. We ordered challah (warm, soft, perfect starter) with tomato salsa (good accompaniment), hummus (good but not unique), roasted root salad (not memorable), and feta chili brulee (good hot notes of chili but dry and boring). The lamb main dish was very flavorful and gooey but you could have told me it was NOT lamb and I would have believed it. Fortunately, the aubergine carpaccio (perfectly smoky and great with the bread) and the chicken main dish (roasted, juicy) saved the evening. The red wine selection of 4 is mediocre and best to avoid, though we did pick a bottle... perhaps stick with beer. The service is typical by Berlin standards, and the ambience is good for date night as well as small group of friends. Mostly vegetarian. For for us, the bill was 147 euros w/o tip.

We had a nice evening. The food was delicious and varied. There are many vegetarian options. The challah was super delicious! The Feta Brûlée was also very tasty, but way too spicy. The service was good, the ambience was nice too. However, the acoustics are bad and you can't have a good conversation.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere. We ordered the middle feast, which includes mezze, main courses and dessert, all to share. It's a lot of food, but it's worth it because everything is delicious. The team is very friendly and it has a general Tel Aviv vibe.

Venue is gorgeous and with a quiet and big terrace. Food is delicious and tasty: we took cauliflower, eggplant (loved it!) and lebneh. Staff was lovely. Would also recommend it for a date 😊 Credit card accepted.

Yafo has the most incredible Middle Eastren food in Berlin. Besides the delicious food, the atmosphere and the service are amazing. Highly recommend! Side note: I was having hard time to find good Tahini in Berlin and after asking where they get their Tahini from, they were so so nice and gave me some raw Tahini to take with me home!

The Yafo has weakened a lot. Prices absolutely overpriced for a salad that consisted of 3 lettuce leaves and 2 peach wedges. We really enjoyed going there a year ago, but unfortunately we were very disappointed with the food this time. We won't go there again and therefore don't recommend it!

We had a wonderful evening at Yafo's yesterday... I especially liked their own wine ;)

Leider hat das neue Restaurant sehr abgebaut. Essen überteuert und leider geschmacklich eine reine Katastrophe. Der Spring Salat bestand aus ein paar Blättern Salat mit ein bisschen Parmesan, ohne richtiges Dressing. Für 14€ ein absoluter Hammer. Das Pita Brot kostet auch extra. Wir waren regelmäßig im alten Yafo gewesen, damals ein Geheimtipp und leckeres Essen. Die neue Location ist überhaupt nicht vergleichbar. Wir werden leider nicht mehr im Yafo essen.

I ate the roasted cauliflower. It was really excellent but I only ate the "main" on the lunch menu, without the mezze or lemonade and I was still billed for the entire menu (main, mezze and lemonade): (I thought I would only pay for what I ate...

Food tasted good, but value for money was just ok. Chairs in the outdoor area are uncomfortable, more of a beer garden feel.

Wowzers 🔥🎆 I have been wanting to go to Yafo for ages since moving to Berlin two years ago, my parents and I finally went last night and everything was so perfect. The flavours were absolutely great from each dish. Hummus to lamb, chicken to freshly baked bread and not to mention the fresh cucumber mocktails we enjoyed. The service was off the chain, waitresses were attentive and sharp, and the manager even served us with so much kindness and genuine interest. Cherry on top? Amazing playlist and speakers to match the beats 😍 we were dancing all dinner long! Thank you Yafo, compliments to the chef, you are a genius! We will be dreaming of that meal for a good while. The location is nestled in between the Kreuzberg craziness, in an intimate courtyard, candlelight dinner and cozy decor to match.

Five of us spontaneously went by on Friday evening and had a fantastic evening. We had everything vegan on the menu and were extremely happy with both the food and the drinks! We will be back

The atmosphere is charming, young vibe with mature taste. The service was exceptionally attentive and very pleasant, made you feel at home in an instant. And that’s even before the food…wow! A mix of authentic original dishes with a twist that makes you feel happy with what you’d expect but still surprises you with something new! We especially love the zucchini dish, the chicken, the mezze, the feta & salad too! The cocktails make you feel like it’s a fancy party and the food makes you feel at a chefs earthy home.

I've been coming to Yafo for years, even regularly at the old location. I even spent the New Year's Eve before last there. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is no longer justified. While a pita bread cost €1 a few months ago, it now costs twice as much. So last night we spent a whopping €10 on pita bread. Signature dishes like tomato salad no longer exist. The portion sizes are tiny. I alone paid €60. Wow. We also paid 5 (!) additional euros because we asked for more pickled vegetables. In the six years that I have been coming to Yafo and recommending it to all my friends, this has never happened. €5 for a tiny portion of pickled cabbage. Mind you, without any notice from the service staff, it was simply on the bill. Unfortunately, I didn’t like the “Yafo Orange” cocktail either. Where there used to be a whole cauliflower, there is now half a cauliflower with a dollop of sauce. When I asked for more sauce because the ratio was absolutely wrong - you guessed it - I had to pay an extra €5. The hummus isn't what it used to be either. The portion here is also tiny and recently topped with a walnut cream, which is not mentioned anywhere on the menu. I do not want. Plus chickpeas in their sauce on top instead of olive oil. The first time I had to leave half the portion behind. Such a shame. Where did the old hummus go? It is also extremely loud, so much so that you literally have to shout at each other. This is partly due to the acoustics and partly due to the terribly loud music. Unfortunately, after yesterday's experience, this will be my last time here.

Weak, not very authentic food, substandard service! Even after complaining, there was only one snippy comment... therefore 0 stars for the service! That can't compensate for the nice backyard ambience. Never again!

We have come twice to Yafo already, once for food and drinks. The atmosphere is cozy, and the food is good, but the prices are a bit too much considering the quantity. Aperol spritz for 10€ feels a bit exaggerated.

Everything tasted incredibly delicious, the waitresses were attentive and friendly and the ambience outside was a 10/10!
