On this summer evening, the atmosphere in the courtyard is pleasant and relaxed. The food was presented to us promptly, and we were told to share it. This gave us a varied selection. The food was delicious, and everything came quickly. The service was attentive and cooperative...although you should speak English, otherwise it can get confusing. I'd be happy to come back.

Booking at Yafo was a little difficult - the restaurant cancelled/changed the date/time twice but were very nice about it and organised a nice goodwill gesture on the finally organised date. But once we got there, the restaurant was excellent - casual, chatty service and the server knew the menu inside out. I'd definitely suggest that if you're used to UK sized 'sharing plates' to order fewer dishes - the portions for sharing were pretty big! The servers can help and advise. Loved the experience, sitting in the square and the delicious Wedding Houmous. Very much recommended for a Berlin trip and for vegetarians particularly.

-Lukewarm food served! -Price-performance ratio was good 👍, -Service was too slow, and my friends and I felt very strange, almost arrogant, as if they didn't want to serve us (I don't know if it's because my friends and I are Black). -The atmosphere was okay, nothing special, but not run-down either. -In conclusion, for the money, you can eat better elsewhere.

You guys gotta stop by on the weekend and try the grilled watermelon salad (and everything else on the menu imho). Even seemingly simple dishes (fried zucchini, spring salad) are absolutely mouthwatering thanks to the special seasoning and attention to details. Everything is home-made, these people really go the extra mile to make sure you’re well set and feel cared for. The atmosphere is cozy romantic and intimate, but also funky and cool—the terrace is in a private area quite far from street and noises. I was there on a Friday and it was super enjoyable. The team is top notch go give them a clap and extra tips—they deserve it all!

I really love traditional Arabic food, but somehow the true flavours of this food didn’t come through… everything looks good, and their PR is very professional but to me it feels like hype over substance

Located in a very cute backyard, it's a nice place to sit outside in the weather. Had the lunch deal for 15€ with a main (Hummus chicken), pita, lemonade and labneh. The taste was delicious and the portion was filling. Price definitely justified for the lunch menu but I cannot judge the evening prices which generally seem on the higher side.

An all-around perfect experience! I celebrated my birthday here; the staff was super friendly and accommodating; it was no problem converting vegetarian dishes to vegan. The food itself was amazing, especially the cauliflower and eggplant. 10/10

This restaurant is an absolute no-brainer! We went with a group and ordered a bit of everything. There's something for everyone here—whether you like meat, vegetarian, or vegan. The best part: no matter what the dish was, everything tasted absolutely amazing :) The staff explained the dishes, their origins, and how they were prepared, making dining at YAFO a truly special experience :)

The food is a revelation! We decided not to order individual dishes, but to try a diverse mix of everything from the menu. From the appetizers to the main course and dessert: amazing! The service was excellent. Attentive and super friendly. We'll definitely be back and will recommend you to others.

Restaurant in a beautiful courtyard with fantastic service. We had an incredibly lovely evening with truly excellent food. We had one cocktail, one beer, and a bottle of wine. Six veggie tapas (plenty for four people!) and two desserts, and paid just under €200 including tip. It was a very fair price for the quality and the food. We'll definitely be back.

What an experience! Through two archways, with the noise of Berlin behind you, you find yourself in a Wilhelminian-era brick industrial complex, now a loft and offices. And then, down in the courtyard, is Yafo. The music, in the best weather, fills the atmosphere and expands it. The service is clear and on-point, with suitable recommendations from the small menu—high expectations. Exceeded everything! The fermented vegetable slices, a welcome from the kitchen, freshly taken from the decorative glasses in the restaurant, make it clear that the evening is going to be promising. The cauliflower: magnificently roasted, the leaves like chips. The challah is incomparable; crispy yet fluffy and juicy. The tomato with oil and salt—a dish and poem in itself. The silky hummus, creamy labneh, rarely eaten better. The chicken is a spiced explosion, juicy and perfectly grilled. To finish, a deliciously sweet treat. Coconut and hibiscus, pistachio and chocolate, halva flakes – a delight. Highly recommended!

I had such a great experience at this restaurant! The cuisine was a beautiful mix of Israeli and Arab flavors, and the food was absolutely amazing. The chicken was so rich in flavor – slightly spicy, but in the best way, where you don’t really feel the heat, just the taste. I also ordered a dish with meat, and it was so, so, so delicious – tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Everything was full of taste and clearly made with care. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves flavorful food and wants to enjoy a unique culinary experience. I’ll definitely be going back!

A small paradise hidden behind an unassuming facade – as if you'd opened a drawer in the big city and found a sun-drenched place, both quiet and lively. The path leads through a backyard so tranquil and tastefully arranged that for a moment you forget you're even in a metropolis. Everything here exudes style – but without any effort. Inside, a scene awaits you that could just as easily be found in a photo book about modern Middle Eastern design. Exotic plants whose leaves curl in soft arches over the walls, colorful tiles that speak to the warm wood of the furniture, jars full of pickled vegetables arranged like silent works of art. It's the kind of space where your gaze is drawn to every detail. Culinary: a hit. The yeast bread wasn't just a side dish, but a chapter in itself. Golden roasted aromas on the outside, fluffy depth on the inside with an almost alcoholic aroma of yeast that blended wonderfully with the creamy hummus. I've rarely eaten bread that takes me by the hand like this. The other dishes are the same – artisanally precise, creative, without being intrusive. The kitchen knows how to play with herbs, acidity, and roasted flavors. Everything seems light, but not at all fleeting. The fact that all this takes place in a place so unassumingly located in a Berlin backyard only makes it all the more convincing. No attitude, no pretensions – simply a very good idea, superbly executed. If you think you've seen it all, take a seat here and let yourself be proven wrong.

Decent but pricey Palestinian/Lebanese food

The absolute highlight of my trip to Berlin. A culinary delight! The best hummus I've ever eaten; the chicken was tender as butter. An all-around fantastic evening. Excellent service!

We decided to go with the menu and did not regret it. All dishes were absolutely delicious and the quantities for five hungry people were perfect! Such a great combination of flavors! The service and atmosphere were amazing too … super friendly and helpful staff and beautiful and inviting decor 😊

We had dinner at Yafo. The food was delicious. The restaurant was very noisy, making conversation difficult. The service was mediocre; orders were repeatedly forgotten, and the main courses arrived too quickly after the starters... The value for money could be better. Conclusion: Overall, okay, but nothing more.

We didn’t make a reservation in advance, but since we arrived early, it wasn’t necessary. Food: We started with a selection of appetizers: hummus, feta cheese with some kind of grilled paprika, a tomato-based sauce, bread, and a yogurt-like dip. • Hummus & Feta with Paprika: Tasty, but not extraordinary. The hummus could have been better with more olive oil. The feta with paprika was quite ordinary. • Bread: We really liked the bread — it was served piping hot, just the way we like it. • Tomato Sauce: It was fresh, with a nice hint of garlic, which we enjoyed. • Main Course (Chicken): The chicken was very tasty, and we loved it. Highly recommended. The portion size was more than enough for one person. • Turkish Coffee: As someone from Turkey, we didn’t really like it — the grind of the coffee seemed too coarse. But it didn’t matter much to us at the end. Service: The staff were very kind and attentive. Atmosphere: The place had a cozy and pleasant vibe. However, when the place got crowded, the noise level rose significantly, and after a while, the music also became a bit disturbing. Price: €81 in total, without alcohol.

Very welcoming environment, quiet despite it being quite busy. Great service, and excellent food. The cherry tomatoes served with Challa bread were excellent, as were the cauliflower and hummus and fried eggplants. Highly recommended! It's been a long time since I left a restaurant so happy 😊

The food was fantastic, and the service from almost all of the employees was super nice and professional. Unfortunately, there was one exception: an employee who was dressed in black today gave us the feeling that we should leave as quickly as possible with an unpleasant mood and a sharp look. She was completely rude. She even simply threw the receipt on the table - an absolute taboo in restaurant service. It's a shame because one bad service can ruin the entire positive experience. Really a big loss for such a great restaurant!

The food is delicious, the service is friendly. However, I didn't like it: Everything is exclusively in English. It is not possible to reserve a table via smartphone or telephone; using the computer I was only able to register on a waiting list (€10/person!). Draft beer was not available. The restaurant was full, very loud and restless. Considering all this, the price-performance ratio is not appropriate for me. A shop for Kreuzberg yuppies who are happy to spend a lot of money for bad service - not for me.

Lovely restaurant, really like the styling! And on such a surprising spot. The food and wines were amazing!! The waiters are really kind and helpful. One of them had also great humor and gave us a home made shot. We had a great time.

We enjoyed our dinner a lot. We haven’t been here for a while and they doubled the size of the portions. It used to be smaller portions that were more on the expensive size but now it’s very generous.

The food is amazing! Absolutely fantastic. The Service is quite nice and sweet, but we thought it was super unprofessional that we were stressed with the time. I think the time management of the table should be managed by the staff. We had to wait for the food in the beginning and for the Dessert as well, but still someone came around and told us there was only 45min, later 15min and then 5min left… Since paying quite a lot of money and very good food should also be relaxing and fun, I think the staff can also manage the timing of the table… I don’t want to be hurried with Deadlines in my Freetime as well…

We went to YAFO for lunch today, it was my second visit. My rating couldn't be better. It was super relaxed for lunch, very cozy and the quality of the food was outstanding. The hummus is a poem and so is everything else we ordered. We'll definitely be back.

It was lovely. The portions could really be a bit bigger - I'm not a child but a grown up 😉 - but the taste was fantastic and the service - especially what we're used to in Berlin in so-called “in places” - was very courteous and friendly. Happy to come back soon.

The food could have been warmer - the coffee is unreasonable

We were there on Saturday with a larger group of girls and the experience was extraordinary! The food was excellent - everything tasted incredibly good! The only thing better than the food was the service! Our waiter was very attentive, quick and friendly. He explained everything to us brilliantly and contributed to a perfect evening! An absolute recommendation!

Visiting Berlin and celebrated my birthday here with friends, the place itself is amazing, the atmosphere is great and designed perfectly, the food was amazing, some of the best I ate in the city in all my visits, everything from the cocktails to the starters and main dishes was superb, defintly recommend and would come back!

Yafo was recommended to us by our resident cultural attaché Moritz. I needed to find a restaurant to accommodate 9 people, 6 of whom were either vegan or had specific dietary requirements, and was, according to my brief, “very, very, cool” Yafo exceeded expectations at every turn, from booking (where Adria always responded to my emails) all the way to our departure. The food was excellent, and the service very friendly on what was a very busy night. (The only reason for not giving 5 stars on service is they may have been under-staffed for how busy they were) Highly recommend.

Everything is a little too loveless.

We were a birthday party of seven and had the most wonderful time. The atmosphere at Yafo is warm and has an easy vibe. The team is welcoming, professional and cheerful. And the food was excellent. Fresh and tasty dishes that are fun to share.

Cozy and friendly environment. We were very good treated. We order a Chili feta, fried zucchinis and chicken everything was very tasty, I found exotic flavors. Definitely a nice experience. Good for a date if it’s not a busy hour.

Hidden inside a court yard in an otherwise unremarkable neighbourhood hides some of the best Mediterranean food possible. Found myself looking for a lunchspot and came across YAFO which at the time of visit (Dec 2024) had a great lunch deal, pita, main and limonade for €14. What followed can best be described as out of this world. The Pita was soft, plenty and warm, accompanying each dish like they were always meant to be. The lamb, soft, juicy, perfectly spiced. The hummus, smooth, creamy, flavourful. The cauliflower, perfectly roasted. This place is an homage to what good and simple food can be. The interior was warm and lovely decorated with staff being attentive and warm. To this day I still talk about this meal with my partner and we will both come back...hungry for more.

We really had a Great time! It was my Birthday Dinner and the Yafo staff really made it something special. Besides the really great food and cozy but chic atmosphere, their hospitality was really special, we even got a few very delicious espresso martini shots and dessert on the house.
