An Israeli gem in Berlin, Hummus & Friends is a must-visit! The hummus is creamy, flavorful, and simply the best I’ve had. The cozy vibe, friendly staff, and fresh ingredients make every bite unforgettable. It's a perfect spot for a delicious, heartwarming meal. I highly recommend it.

We were there on a Friday after 10 p.m. and were greeted warmly by an employee. He had definitely already had a long shift, but he still bustled around with a smile. Not all the dishes on the menu were available, which is understandable so late. I'm convinced everything there tastes divine. We had half a cauliflower and tomato hummus. Simply amazing; I can't describe it more pretentiously. And the seating area in the courtyard was the icing on the cake.

Excellent food in a restaurant with beautiful interior design. We had Friend's Salad, Hummus and Chickpeas, and Sandwich II. Everything was delicious, especially the hummus. The cooked chickpeas were so tender they melted in your mouth. The pita bread, warmed on the spot, was also very good. One note on table cleanliness: unfortunately, it's a common occurrence in Berlin not to use tablecloths or placemats. The tables aren't cleaned properly, and that's not good.

This humus brings back memories of the unrivalled humus of Abu Shukri and of Lina in the Old City of Jerusalem. I need not say more.

I've rarely eaten such a bad meal, yet at such an overpriced price. The service was abysmal. The spritzer was inedible. The falafel wasn't homemade, but frozen. The hummus was tasty, but the portion was tiny. The salad was poorly prepared and old, and also inedible. Truly disappointing and not recommended.

Hummus & Friends is located at Oranienburger Str. 27, 10117 Berlin. This is a casual restaurant with homemade hummus variations, as well as salads, tapas, and desserts. I drank several beers there and ate an Israeli salad. Both were delicious. The staff is very friendly, helpful, socially competent, and very valuable. Highly recommended. I had high expectations for the place, unfortunately, the hummus we received was more like liquid flour than hummus, we ordered the special dish that was supposed to be hummus with tahini, chickpeas and fava beans and onion, we received a thin texture with half a hard-boiled egg, seasoning of red paprika, a drop of olive oil and some chickpeas from a box, the taste was not terrible for a flour but very far from a good hummus dish, and it's a shame, in short, this dish is not recommended, maybe you should try other dishes. The pitas, on the other hand, were delicious, like in Israel

The hummus is great, but not worth €15 for a medium portion, some bread, and nothing else. Service wasn't great; we had to wait a while to order/pay, even though it was quiet.

Delicious hummus variations served with pita bread, which arrived warm and super fresh. The vegetable side dishes also impress with the quality and flavor of the individual ingredients. Add to that friendly service and a pleasant atmosphere that invites you to sit and enjoy a long meal together.

Nice place near the synagogue. Mostly dairy food with kosher wine. I was there with a friend and the service was very friendly.

The restaurant is terrible. The price-performance ratio is abusive. The pittas were microwaved, which made them hard and inedible after a minute. We pretty much forgot about the waiters. The table next to me just got up in the middle of their meal and went somewhere else to have a good time. As for the hummus, it's a disgrace. Old peas, way too much tahini, so it's not really hummus. Never going back.

Falafel are my favorite dish and I eat them everywhere. These are relatively tasteless and, above all, not crispy on the outside. I’ll still come back 😉

I visited this restaurant yesterday specifically for kosher food, as it was advertised as kosher. I even confirmed with the staff, who assured me the establishment is under kosher supervision. They claimed the only reason the certificate on display was outdated was because they "forgot to print the new one." Today, I contacted the supposed supervisor, and he was shocked to hear the restaurant is using an old certificate he issued to mislead kosher-observant customers. This place is NOT KOSHER, has no current supervision, and is actively deceiving people. It's a scam.

Absolute recommendation! Very tasty hummus, amazing pita and not a long wait to be served. The lady from the service only spoke English, but was very attentive and courteous. Prices are not exactly cheap, but very reasonable

Nothing to do with middle east food

The hummus and foul were quite underwhelming. The hummus tasted mostly like tahini, lacking the usual flavor and texture. The foul had very little seasoning and was quite bland. The bread was good, but only one piece was provided. Overall, not the best experience.

Humus&Friends In my personal opinion, the service did not fit the vegan/vegetarian concept - (Kosher) The high-quality red wine from Israel came in a wine goblet (wine glass) 0.2 and not in a nice red wine glass, The oriental pita bread should actually always be slightly warmed and not, as in our case, totally dry and cold. Otherwise everything was to our satisfaction.....One more personal note at the end. If you are there with several people or as a couple, please order something together so that everyone can have everything.. bye Bye

The food itself isn't bad and we were full, but it's too expensive in my opinion. Hummus is actually a very simple food. The service was a bit inattentive. At the sink in the men's toilet there is a plastic jug for ritual hand washing with one of the handles broken off. That doesn't make a good impression.

So the food was delicious, but my pita was so full of hummus that I spilled it all over myself because it ran out and dripped everywhere. Service was very charming. Unfortunately my seat didn't have a backrest. The first special tea came in quite a small cup, but the second special tea was the usual amount. Apple tart was very tasty and nice and juicy. Generally friendly hosts, had a lot to do but were nice and funny in a lovely way.

We had a difficult and sad conversation in the restaurant, but the waiters were very discreet and empathetic, gave us cake and schnapps and the dishes were perfectly seasoned and beautifully served as always, very great, relatively small, now almost exclusively vegan selection! I never saw a place so dirty. I would try that an Agent from Health and Safety comes to this restaurant in Berlin. The insects were over the food when I saw the kitchen for a moment on my way to the bathroom. I talked to one waiter he told me that they have mosquitoes and flies in the kitchen! There were 6 of us here for lunch and almost all of us were disappointed with the food. The trio of potatoes and beetroot was in the oven for too long and the beets burned. The lentil soup was rather bland. The two types of hummus (normal and tomato) were creamy but the taste was too bitter for all of us, as if the focus had been on the tahini and not on the chickpeas. Homemade is advertised, but the falafel is frozen? The service was nice.

If you love hummus, this is the right place! Great restaurant with a clear menu that I like to come back to whenever I'm in Berlin. The atmosphere is cozy, the service is friendly and on the ball and the food is really tasty. You can also share the dishes so you can try more!

What an absolute gem of a restaurant. Thoroughly recommended if you like hummus! Everything on the menu includes hummus - I had the "special" with lentils, onions, gherkins, and pitta, with an Erdinger beer and paid €26. I can't yet promise the advertising lives up to it's interesting proposition, but heck, worth it for the food. Fabulous setting, service, and atmosphere. Edit: went back here a couple more times and had falafel. Very good and staff very attentive. It's great 👍

The food is excellent, as is the presentation of the dishes. The menu is very rich, the part relating to wines and other drinks is missing in the photo. Good value for money. I recommend the chocolate cake with a warm heart that you see in the photo. The place is very nice, if I really have to try to find a weak point it's the paper napkins because to clean your lips after so much goodness they would be better than the more refined napkins. Highly recommended.

I'm sorry to say that the service was very disappointing. The employees seemed inattentive and my drink was even completely forgotten. There was neither a “thank you” nor a “please,” which made the experience even more unpleasant. Unfortunately, the food itself was just average and couldn't save the overall impression. For these reasons, I unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant.

Very disappointing and expensive. I expected a lot from this restaurant, after all it's called Hummus and Friends. The hummus doesn't taste like anything, even with sun-ripened tomatoes. When we entered the restaurant at around 6:30 p.m., the lady behind the counter was standing with street shoes on the counter where food was being prepared and was cleaning the shelves. The cauliflower was still half raw and still rock hard even after sending it back and cooking it again. The chili salad had no jalapenos or chili sauce and the mango in it was also rock hard. The waitress wasn't interested in your work either and showed it. And what's more, a bit of hummus costs just under 15 euros and we paid just under 65 euros for 3 people including drinks. Never again and no thanks.

Had a very nice evening. Good company, good food, good atmosphere, what more could you want. The two of us shared a pumpkin hummus (approx. 15€) and the eggplant (approx. 9€), plus 2 extra breads (approx. 4€). We were both full. However, the pumpkin hummus does not taste like pumpkin, there are only a few pumpkin and tomato pieces on the hummus. Service: Unfortunately we were presented with the wrong bill and the plate wasn't completely clean (so pay attention to that).

Fresh fluffy pita bread comes with every hummus plate. Portions are generous and perfect for sharing different styles. Nice outdoor seating in summer. The bohemian atmosphere adds to the experience. Try the roasted eggplant with tahini.

We had a reservation for 6 people. After we got the drinks and wanted to order the food, it turned out that almost all the hot dishes were sold out (e.g. potatoes, cauliflower, soups - all gone at 6:30 p.m. on Saturdays). It can happen, but then you have to communicate it directly when handing out the menu cards. There was no apology, just a "we don't have that anymore" response to each of our orders. Unfortunately we had to leave the otherwise nice restaurant and look for something else. I am very disappointed.

At first I was afraid to come because I saw a lot of negative reviews. But I said let's try. Really great place. There is a kosher certificate at the entrance. I didn't have time to take a picture of the food before because it was so beautiful and delicious so I took a picture at the end of the meal and as you can see I finished everything. My favorite hummus shop in Berlin. The avocado hummus is sooo delicious. I can only recommend it. One plate really fills you up. The service is friendly. Unfortunately you have to wait a long time until you are served. Sometimes you have to get the menu card yourself or go to the front to pay.

Excellent clean kosher delicious food

We were almost ripped off by the waiter. He charged us an amount far beyond what the meal might have cost. When we asked for the receipt, 2 out of 4 items were wrong, at least one of them was more expensive than the one we ordered. He said he accidentally gave us the bill from another table. After our complaint, we left the restaurant with €12 more than when we actually paid and we were still not sure whether everything had been billed correctly. Everything is very murky. “Cash only” speaks for itself! Regarding the answer from the restaurant: I would be very surprised if my employees collected money that (just now) has not been paid for, so no invoice can be issued for it. Where did this money go?

Positive: The different hummus variations were well prepared, well presented and tasty. Negative: The service “experience”, here are the things that bothered us: -if you order a 0.5l draft beer (6.50EUR) you also expect 0.5l. If a 0.4l glass (with a calibration mark) is served, you are at least surprised... we insisted at the counter and received a correct glass of 0.5l. The contents of the 0.4l jar were tipped away -Two oven-fresh pita breads are served with the hummus variations, which are very tasty for dipping in the sauces. Initially only 4 out of 6 pita breads were served, with the explanation that the others were still in the oven...so far, so good...but: after what felt like 20 minutes of eating and lively conversation, the first 4 pita breads were used up...ask the staff : the breads are still in the oven???? After another 10 minutes we protested more vigorously, whereupon we were given 3 cold pita breads from the storage box... which we immediately sent back... 5 minutes later warm pita breads came back - According to the menu, one of the 4 dishes included bread sticks... the bread sticks were not there when it was served... when we asked, we were told that the bread sticks were no longer made and that pita bread was also available for them - we would have expected that we will be informed of the change to the offer when placing the order. -When we checked out, we were initially only given the total amount; we only received a verifiable invoice with the individual items when we asked directly Conclusion: Each event described is a small matter in itself and would have been taken care of for us with a short apology from the staff....the accumulation and the staff's lack of insight, which we felt, bothered us...it's a shame, because the food itself was really good

They took a popular dish, made it overpriced, and completely butchered it! The texture is similar to Palestinian hummus, but the flavors just aren’t there. You’ll pay 10-15 for a plate of smashed chickpeas and pita—no fries, no salad, no pickles. It’s better to go to Azzam, where at least it’s authentic, and the people making it know what they’re doing, instead of profiting off others’ culture without understanding. And adding a hard-boiled egg doesn’t make it gourmet—nonsense place!

Food is below average and very expensive. You could find better flafals in Rewe.

Wenn man von der Museumsinsel oder dem Spreeufer in die Oranienburger Straße zur Synagoge geht, kommt man direkt zum Lokal. Meine Tochter hatte noch nie in einem Lokal Hummus gegessen. Und durfte feststellen, dass das viel besser ist als was man im Supermarkt kaufen kann. Alles war bestens.
