Mani in Berlin

The service and ambience were great, I can't complain at all. The food was okay, starter and main course were okay, but the brownie was terrible. I've seen others get a fresh and airy one, but ours was really hard and dry, probably because it had been in the kitchen for a few days. The price wasn't worth it. What scared me the most was the Instagram page “justice for amano employees,” which showed that guests were being served expired food and other scary stories. I might have celebrated my birthday there for the vibe, but not after everything I read there, too bad.

The food is good. But the service is subpar. Half the table is cleared, half of the plates remain and are cleared about 45 minutes after being asked. Regardless of whether it's water or dessert, you wait forever for everything and only receive it after repeated reminders. The music is loud so you can't have a conversation. Given the prices, I expect more.

Terrible 😄 Mediocre, but quite expensive food and drinks in a rather strange atmosphere. 99% of completely over-styled people under 30, who all either looked like escort ladies or windy real estate or financial product salespeople (or probably were).

I was at the Mani Restaurant in Berlin Mitte last Saturday and I have to say it was an absolutely unforgettable evening! The celebration was well organized and the atmosphere was simply fantastic. The fire show was particularly impressive and gave the event a very special touch. The belly dancer also impressed the audience with her performance. The DJ rounded off the evening perfectly with his amazing sound. But the best thing was the food – simply unusually good! Every dish was a taste experience and you immediately noticed the attention to detail in the preparation. The service was outstanding; every wish is met here. You really don't find a service like this very often. I can highly recommend Mani Restaurant and am already looking forward to my next visit!

The service was attentive, courteous & friendly, and the food was simply delicious, especially the Israeli classics blew me away - a perfect combination of classic & modern. Hey, this is Moran's friend. Since we can't reply directly to your comment, it's a bit odd that you're asking what you could've done differently. It's especially strange considering we've already written to you. We actually took the time to give you constructive feedback because we thought you'd appreciate an honest review. But it seems like all you want to hear is praise. Honestly, it wasn't great - far from it. And your response to our review just avoids taking any real responsibility or making practical changes to improve. You’re outright dismissing constructive criticism. You mentioned that there are more than one Israeli in your team - why does that matter? Moran pointed out that we came to you because we heard the chef was Israeli, but frankly, the chef didn’t do a good job at all. Honestly it's not about interpretation at all. Every chef has their own interpretation. Saying this is your interpretation is like saying you don't care if your customers enjoy it, as long as you're doing what you want. So why even bother reading reviews? And why run a restaurant at all? Just throw parties for yourselves, hand out awards for interpretation and innovation, and tell yourselves you're great. Or maybe realize that your interpretation isn't working. There's no shame in that - unless you ignore criticism and only care about stars and good reviews. Then you'll just fill your page with fake positive reviews and start believing the lie that you're good. Just don't forget that those positive reviews you filled your page with are actually fake. That's also a way to "succeed” I guess. She also mentioned your response to another review, which was similarly off base. Instead of deflecting, you should demand that your chef does a better job, so your customers don’t leave feeling disappointed and like they wasted their money. That would be much better. I don't understand why you can't accept constructive feedback and use it to improve. Or is it that you’re simply unable to, and the negative things we heard about your place are the ones we should’ve believed? It's a shame - you're doing yourselves a disservice. Even when we visited, your restaurant was more than half empty, which probably isn’t a coincidence. Good luck - YOU’RE DOING A GREAT JOB AT RUINING YOURSELVES.

Hi. I want to share a few things with you. I've heard a lot about you - some good things and some much less so. But I always prefer to judge for myself. So we came to eat at your place as you’re not far from the hotel we're staying at. First of all, I have to say you're expensive. Really, the food here is overpriced. The quality of the food is not great. Nothing was disgusting, but nothing was particularly tasty or looked especially good either. Everything was very average. As for being an Israeli restaurant, I live in Tel Aviv, and I have to say that this doesn't compare to the food back home, which is disappointing. I also read some reviews here, and I have to say there's one that really hits the mark, and I read your response to it, which was embarrassing. First of all, it’s hard to even understand what you're trying to say with all those mistakes in English, but the excuses you gave there don’t sound relevant at all. You mentioned that you would sit down with your Israeli staff to figure out how to do better, but we heard that your chef is Israeli, so what's the point of asking your Israeli staff what to do? If your chef isn’t good enough and apparently, he really isn’t because the whole experience here was unsuccessful - then replace him with someone who can do better. If you want to meet with your Israeli staff to improve things, then let someone from that staff be the chef already. I felt like your response didn’t really address the feedback you received, and that's a shame, because when we read that review, it perfectly described our experience, even better than I can write to you now. I won't say we regret spending money because we’re Israelis and love supporting Israeli businesses, even abroad, but we left feeling disappointed. Do something. Be better.

After not having been to this gem in Mitte for a while, we visited yesterday. And what a pleasant surprise to see the house full with such great vibe, good music and most importantly the food was absolutely delicious. Personal faves were the hamachi starter, cauliflower, portobello mushroom main, and seafood mains. Served with detail and perfect balance. Service was on point and when the party started, the energy level went through the roof. Extra plus is, they’re dog friendly, but it gets loud, even for our furry friends.

We've visited Tel Aviv in Israel a few times, and we really love it, as well as the food there. The food at Mani isn't anything like the excellent food you find in Israel. The quality is quite low, and the menu doesn't seem to have any clear direction. it's neither classic nor innovative and it's for sure not Israeli, nor German, Italian or anything else. One cannot even say it's eclectic. From all the food we had, it felt like we paid way too much for what we got, and the mushroom dish made us laugh because it looked like poop the chef accidentally placed on the plate. I can't help but wonder if some of the other comments here were written by friends or acquaintances of the owner, but I can assure you that many customers won't be coming back. And if you're relying on people who only visit once, eventually your place will be empty, with no new suckers coming in.

One of my favorite places to spend some quality time with friends and family! Plus the atmosphere is amazing and the employees are very kind and friendly. Highly recommend the delicious cauliflower!

It's been a while since we had dinner there, but it's a great restaurant with a very nice atmosphere, nice people, sensational cuisine and a DJ who gave it his all :-)! We still got a table, even though there was actually nothing left available (provided by the beautiful Hotel Amano). We enjoyed every minute and every bite! We'll be back the next time we visit Berlin. Most certainly!

This place has an incredible restaurant and lobby and the best breakfast buffet I have ever tried before. People are nice and helpful, and the rooms are too comfortable.

The door into the Mani is a jump from Torstr. into another world. Cool music, great service, great ambience and a kitchen full of surprises. Going to Mani is a worthwhile experience.

Das Essen war wie immer wunderbar. Auch die Athmosphäre und den DJ, den wir erst beim rausgehen bemerkt hatten. Beim Service war ich enttäuscht. Wir hatten ausschließlich englischsprachige Bedienung (ausser am Eingang), da war es manchmal nicht so einfach mit dem deutschen Menü sich abzustimmen. Obwohl es eher leer war an einem Freitagabend, mussten wir für ein Glas oder Espresso öfters nachfragen.

Also eine gute Lokal um durch die Nacht zu feiern, Entertainment und Location sehr gut…Essen ist relativ gut aber sehr, sehr wenig und teuer!!! Man wird hier garantiert hungrig! Egal was man bestellt…Portion ist Micro und für Brot müsste ich 8 mal fragen!!! Getränke sind auch relativ ok, man muss immer Flaschen kaufen, eine Glass bestellen braucht man nicht zu machen 😱

Die Speisekarte war einfach nichts für uns. Sie war auch sehr begrenzt. Das sollte man sich vorher anschauen. Der Kellner war sehr freundlich und hatte Verständnis dafür.

Sharing ist caring - das ist das Konzept der Israelischen Fusionsküche. Das Hotelrestaurant besteht aus einer kleinen Bar im vorderen Bereich und dem Restaurant mit offener Küche im hinteren Teil. Dort findet sich auch ein Kamin wo es vor allem zur kalten Jahreszeit herrlich gemütlich ist. Das Essen optisch und geschmacklich fantastisch. Das Tartar hier landestypisch u.a. mit Kreuzkümmel gewürzt - eine gelungen Abwechslung. Auberginenpaste und Sesampaste werden mit frischem Pita im Leinensäckchen serviert. Die Preise etwas gehoben aber für den Standort Mitte und die Qualität der Speisen völlig angemessen. Etwas Geduld mitbringen. Wer wie wir ein gesetztes Menü hat muss damit rechnen das der Nachtisch gerne auch erstmal gegen Mitternacht serviert wird. Lust auf mehr kulinarisches? We were a group opted for the set menu. We got 5 starters, 3 of them are on the photo, to share in between 5 people. It was not worth the time spent there, not to mention the value. The service was a total failure. It might be the management, though. He was trying his best trying to run to 3 long tables alone.

Grandios! Unbeschreiblich lecker. Seit ein paar Jahren kommen wir gern ins MANI, wir sind niemals enttäuscht. Der Koch Shimon Peretz und sein Team machen einfach sooooo gut. Die Mani-Kreationen sind kleine Kunstwerke, hohe Qualität der Zutaten und der Zubereitung…. Immer wieder Überraschungen in der Zusammenstellung der Texturen, Aromen, Geschmack…. Hier steckt so viel Liebe und Mühe. Außerdem sehr freundliches Personal und tolle Ambiente. Unbedingt Empfehlung an allen!

We had an amazing night going out to eat at MANI. The food, drinks, & service was spectacular. To start we had the bagel with a bunch of amazing dips, an incredible steak tartar, paired with some nice cocktails. For the main course we enjoyed one of the best wines I've had in a long time with a perfect steak, as well as a grilled fish that I wont forgot for a long time. All in all I can highly recommend Mani to anyone looking for a nice night out with great drinks, food, and a lively vibe.

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Abend mit fantastischem Essen! Leider sind die Stühle im Außenbereich sehr unbequem und wir würden nach dem Dessert kaum noch beachtet, sodass wir auf unseren Cocktail dann verzichtet haben.

One of most horrific restaurants I’ve seen in my life. To start with, the service was beyond terrible - already in the very beginning, they simply couldn’t explain what was written on the special menu they brought. Later, the waitress kept confusing the dishes and drinks they were bringing. After one hour of waiting we got starters. And after 2 hours of waiting and several complains, we finally got out main course - which was anything but good - the food was cold, not a good quality and poorly cooked, the meat was gummy, the fish was extra dry and everything was just sour. The same quality one could have got in the corner shop, for 5€ and instead of 50€ per meal. The staff not even apologized, just took all complains as if that was a normal question and even then, the bill had mistakes, calculating things we did not order.

Eigentlich hervorragendes Essen. Aber fast dauerhaft geschlossen, mal kein Personal, mal irgendetwas anderes, immer unhöfliche Antworten - echt nervig, nicht mehr empfehlenswert, man muss leider abraten, weil echt arrogant.

We had a great experience here with super attentative staff, at least as long as we were ordering food :D We were sitting outside, which is close to the street, but they set it up nicely with flowers around, which blocks the noise a little. The chairs are very uncomfy, and the table was shaking, which was super annoying, but the food in comparison absolutely amazing. Friendly staff always explained what we got, but forgot one of our orders. After we received our dessert, we never saw service again, which was bad because we actually wanted to order more drinks, but then decided to leave. Overall, it was a good experience with some improvements possible, especially as it's a pricy place.

Es war ein fantastischer Hochgenuss an Essen. Wir hatten eine Vorspeisenplatte mit Dips, welche hervorragend geschmeckt hat. Danach hatten wir sowohl Fleisch als auch Fisch zum Hauptgang. Kein bisschen was auszusetzen. Der Service sehr zuvorkommend und immer bedacht, dass es uns gut geht und wir alles haben. Highlight.... Der Chefkoch kam aus der Küche an den Tisch und erkundigte sich ebenfalls, ob wir zufrieden waren mit seinen angerichteten Speisen..... Natürlich! Das Restaurant ist wirklich sehr zu empfehlen!

Mittelmäßiges Essen in der Diskothek…. Man soll pünktlich 19:30 das sein. Um 20:45 wird Essen serviert, dann aber Mezze und Vorspeise in nem Affentempo. Um 22:00 (vor der Hauptspeise) macht der DJ die Musik auf Discolautstärke, alle tanzen. Wer Party sucht ist gut beraten, zum Abendessen würde ich es nicht empfehlen. Garnelen und Fleisch ist trocken gebraten. Eine der Vorspeisen schmeckte nach Knoblauch pur. Die mehr als opulente Tischdeko, verbunden mit der Musik macht jede Kommunikation unmöglich. Für mich: nein danke, brauch ich nicht wieder. Euch viel Spaß beim Tanzen!

Mit großer Erwartung betraten ich und zwei Freundinnen am 11.03.2023 das Restaurant. Ein Kellner führte uns zu unserem Tisch, jedoch bereits mit der Information, dass wir dort nur für lediglich 2 Stunden sitzen könnten. Diese Information wurde mir bei der Tischreservierung jedoch nicht mitgeteilt. Leider empfand ich das Personal auch als sehr unfreundlich. Als wir die Speisekarte öffneten, fielen uns sofort die exorbitanten Preise auf. Hauptgerichte bewegen sich bei 30 Euro. Ich bestellte eine Vorspeise (gegrillte Tomate). Ich bekam 5 Scheiben Tomate, davon 2 ungenießbar waren, da sie bereits völlig verbrannt waren. Auf den Tomaten befanden sich ein paar Fetzen von Feta und Oliven - der Preis 15 Euro. Das Hauptgericht, das aus ein paar Stücke Hähnchenfleisch und Couscous bestand, kostete 30 Euro. Ein anderes Hauptgericht war ein Zwiebelsteak, das nur aus einer halben gebratenen Zwiebel auf Reis bestand - der Preis dafür 25 Euro. Alles in allem einfach nur frech und mehr als überteuert. Frage mich, wofür man da bezahlt. Auch geschmacklich absolut nicht gut

I would like to say how disappointed and mistreated my friends and I felt by the waiter. He made us feel like we were not good enough to be there, responding to us rudely and very Condescending. We where always polite to him even though we was not. To treat not only clients but people like this is so disgusting . Even though the food was really nice that made us feel so uncomfortable

Das ist Berlin! Die Speisenauswahl war einfach vorzüglich! Im Laufe des Abends (Samstag) drehte der DJ die Musik immer weiter auf und am Ende wurde ausgelassen getanzt. Bis hierhin also wirklich empfehlenswert... allerdings, der Kellner (ausschließlich der englischen Sprache mächtig... das muss in Berlin wohl so sein) hat uns mehrmals vergessen. Ambiente war ok, aber das Essen war eine Katastrophe, der Fisch verbrannt, die Gläser bis obenhin mit Eiswürfel gefüllt, ein normales trinken ist unmöglich. Die Musik zu laut. Es ist sein Geld nicht wert.

Qualität des Essens hat stark nachgelassen. Preisleistungsverhältnis passt überhaupt nicht. Der Service ist richtig schlecht. Sehr enttäuschender Abend.

Some of the best lamb I have ever had in my life! Interesting seasoning, perfectly cooked, juicy, deliciously tender and fatty. I also had a lovely cocktail and the beef rindfleisch tataki which was fresh and delicious, just a little overwhelming with spicy peppers. Generous portions, attentive and friendly staff, one of my favorite meals in Berlin.

Sehr stylisches Restaurant mit guten Cocktails und freundlichem Servicepersonal. Die Qualität der Produkte war sehr gut, jedoch ist bei der Zubereitung noch Luft nach oben . Abstriche gibt’s auch für die extrem lange Wartezeit zwischen Vorspeise und Hauptgang. Daher passte für uns auch das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis nicht . Das Personal ist locker und sehr freundlich,

Wunderbares Essen bei einem aufmerksamen Service. Die Lautstärke ist bei vollem Restaurant grenzwertig, ist aber wohl dem Konzept geschuldet.

Leider nur sehr durchschnittliches Essen, Blumenkohl nicht besser als zuhause, Entrecote zu durch, kein alkoholfreies Bier. Service spricht überwiegend nur Englisch, schwankt zwischen nett und bemüht. Zu laut, zu unbequem.

Dank Reservierung bekamen wir am Samstagabend einen kleinen Tisch für drei. Auf Wunsch und wiederholter Nachfrage konnten wir diesen aus dem kalten Foyerbereich am Eingang nach 30 Minuten Wartezeit in den Innenbereich wechseln. Der Tisch befand sich ebenfalls am Durchgang. Der Restaurant Manager stellte ohne Begrüßung den vierten Stuhl am Tisch einmal um und nahm ihn später dann weg. Unser Tisch wurde während wir aßen ohne Vorwarnung verschoben, damit Platz für einen anderen war. Wir empfanden dies als außerst unhöflich und unprofessionell. Der Service war schnell, freundlich und verständnisvoll. Das Preisleistungsverhältnis war insgesamt unstimmig. Wir bestellten nur vegetarische Gerichte, die geschmacklich ansprechend waren, jedoch war der Preis nicht gerechtfertigt. Ein live DJ legte auf, was für eine Nachtclub Atmosphäre sorgte. Leider konnten wir uns aufgrund der hohen Lautstärke kaum richtig unterhalten. Das Publikum war überwiegend jung (Anfang 20). Der Nachgeschmack der blieb war der, dass wenn du keine Verbindung zum Restaurant Manager hast, du einfach nur schnell abgefertigt wirst, bis die nächsten Gäste kommen. Schade! Fazit: Wer israelische Küche mit der Herzlichkeit der Menschen dazu liebt, sollte alternativ lieber ein kleines Restaurant aufsuchen, wo mehr auf den Teller kommt für einen angemesseneren Preis. Dabei ist ein Lächeln und ein respektvoller Umgang mit den Gästen garantiert.
