Ive been coming here since opening of the place and loved it. They have changed their menu, and service has deteriorated. In hopes it’ll improve again.

Excellent food in a lovely atmosphere. Great menus and fast service in the evenings, unfortunately neither is available at lunchtime.

2024 - 2 stars: (Pictures are from 2022 - the food doesn't look that good anymore) unfortunately the Ya has declined in quality. I've been 4 times before my visit but the last time was 2 years ago... and I found that they have a new menu and very increased prices. The service was, as usual, friendly and polite. But the Ya Signature Menu didn't convince me at all! Sometimes too salty or you waited a long time between courses. And that's because it has almost doubled in price... One of my favorite restaurants, but I probably won't go there again. 2022 - 5 stars: Best fine dining Chinese that I had so far. Amazing food and service. Already went three times and would come any time again. Price for the quality is more than fair! 😍✨

A very nice experience all in all. We were here for a birthday dinner. The birthday girl had a good time. It will be a good time if you are looking for a somewhat upscale meal in a nice environment in formal and semiformal settings, and if you have to take a non-asian friend to dinner. Very nice decor, attentative service (really liked our friendly server), and palatable food. Likely a bad time if you come here for taste alone, or a good price/performance ratio. I found the fried aubergine, the spinach salad, the shumai, and the thin onion pancake with hummus were highlights. I found the fried dumplings, the Spargel salad and the duck were average to bad.

Service and ambience were fantastic! Service was not intrusive and the ambience is simply unique! It's worth going for that alone. Food was also quite good - we shared different menus. Although we ordered menus with meat, there were vegetarian options. You can definitely go there for a birthday or a nice quiet date.

The restaurant is centrally located in Schwabing and impresses you as soon as you walk in with its authenticity and pleasant atmosphere. The service is friendly and attentive. The dishes are typical of the country and incredibly tasty. The podstickers are definitely a highlight, along with the side dish of broccoli or eggplant. You can't really order anything wrong here. We'd love to come back.

One of the best Chinese restaurants in Munich, this is a Cantonese style place. You can have the alacarte or the set - recommend the latter. We had the Delight collection for two … about 6 courses and each course is a culinary delight indeed. There is one set menu for veggies which is also great. Given the quality and service, price is very good value for money. Quantity very good so space it out 😀

I really don't know where to start. A friend of mine who has been here several times recommended this restaurant in Munich to me. Full of anticipation, I thought I would have a lovely evening here. The starter was indeed delicious and promising. But when my dumpling arrived, I was horrified: mine was ice cold and my friend's was simply raw. The waitress simply responded with an incredulous 'Pardon?' and took it with him without a word. When she brought it back, we were repeatedly told, with tight faces, that it was a mistake on the part of the kitchen, along with half-hearted apologies. It almost felt like we were being blamed for the mishap. Even worse: my friend later got a stomach ache and had to order ginger tea. After this experience I lost all desire to eat. When my friend politely asked for an extra spoon for the main course, the waitress actually asked what she needed the spoon for. That was simply outrageous. We needed fresh cutlery because the previous spoon had already been used for the raw dumplings. Why do you have to explain what you need something for in a restaurant you pay for? The various courses were served so chaotically and without any system that I lost track of what I was actually eating. Normally I'm not one to write bad reviews quickly, but today I'm deeply disappointed. What I found particularly unpleasant was that the waitress physically touched me every time he came to the table. The food was undoubtedly good and the atmosphere was pleasant, but with this wait and subpar service, I can only recommend ordering take-away instead of eating in. With the best will in the world, I can't understand the good reviews of this restaurant. Maybe we were just unlucky, but this evening was a complete disappointment. They offered us an additional dessert. However, we didn't accept it as what we really needed was a sincere apology and good service. We have no problem paying for good quality - we weren't there to complain or profit at the restaurant's expense

One of the greatest, if not the best, restaurant experiences I had in Munich. The entrance is very modest, but the atmosphere kicks in as soon as you step inside the hall. All employees are kind and try their best not to distract the guests. Service is very enjoyable, and all items we ordered ended up very tasty. The dumplings were the highlights of the night, with well-made cocktails/spritz. Highly recommended!

It was my first time here during the Moon Festival, an important Asian holiday. Honestly, I wasn’t even aware of the holiday because the service remained excellent and well-organized. The food was served quickly, and everything was delicious! We ordered menu 5 for 2 people, which included 2 appetizers, 2 small dishes, and 2 main dishes, along with more than 2 cups of rice. A couple of dishes were a bit too sweet, but overall, the ingredients were high-quality and the meals were satisfying. They also offer dim sum for lunch on a daily basis.

A really atmospheric place, service friendly and competent. The only thing that annoyed me was that a main course came cold... I pushed the rice apart a bit because I thought it was just cold on the outside. In the end I gave it back and asked for a warm dish. The same plate came back (identified by the rice being pushed apart) really now? Microwave? At Black Angus? Very disappointing for such a restaurant...

Absolutely outstanding service and food in a modern, elegant Chinese setting. From the moment we stepped into the impeccably-decorated dining space, the attentiveness and speed of the service truly stood out to us (food came out faster than we could eat!). Delicious twists on classical Chinese dishes, including a rich truffle fried rice, crispy Peking duck, and fresh salmon tartare. Very very highly recommend this place - this was the best Chinese food I’ve had in Europe!

Always a pleasure. Each of the individual menu courses is delicious and leaves nothing to be desired. The Canton Duck in particular is the best I've eaten. Price performance is definitely right here. The cocktails are also extremely tasty and go well with the dishes. The ambience in the restaurant is a bit dark, but that's why it has its charm. The terrace is also very pleasant in the summer months. The only point of criticism I have to mention is that the courses sometimes come one after the other too quickly. A short break after e.g. 2 courses would be ideal so that you can enjoy the food a little more.

Restaurant Ya in Munich is a great restaurant with delicious food, friendly staff and good value for money. I would recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic Chinese dining experience in Munich. We were particularly impressed by the friendliness of the staff. They wished our grandpa a happy birthday and even gave him an extra dessert. We were really happy about that.

Yesterday we really enjoyed our dinner here. It is a fine Asian diner and we opted for menu number 2. While we were seated in the garden. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We started with two cocktails, followed by our 6 course menu and even took a dessert (yummy matcha and yuzu ice cream). We will come back for more!

The duck thigh salad was a standout, with a umami-packed sesame, peanut, and chili dressing that was simply delicious. The traditionally prepared Peking duck featured crispy skin and juicy meat, and it was a fun experience to roll our own pancakes with hoisin sauce. The mixed steamed dumplings were plump, juicy, and generously filled. Every dish was not only tasty but beautifully plated, and the portion sizes left us fully satisfied. The drinks menu is extensive, featuring a great range of refreshing cocktails and mocktails. However, the prices are on the higher side - €10.90 for a non-alcoholic mocktail feels a bit excessive. That said, the yuzu-kumquat soda was tangy, sweet, and refreshing. The restaurant's decor is classy and reminiscent of fine dining, with dark tones and a distinctly Chinese aesthetic. While the service was polite, it lacked warmth, which was a slight downside to an otherwise great experience. Overall, this restaurant offers great value for money and is an excellent dim sum option in Munich. The food is authentic, well-made, and satisfying. Highly recommended for dim sum lovers!

The path to the thematically perfectly designed restaurant in the basement ends in a spacious reception and waiting area. On warm days, the terrace with a cooling waterfall is open. The Ya focuses on excellent, reinterpreted traditional cuisine made from high-quality, fresh products, such as Wagyu beef, Canton duck and Tiger King prawns. Anyone who appreciates quality food with a refined taste will be more than satisfied with Ya - The Mandarin Room.

We came here for dinner and put together our own menu because neither of us can eat seafood but still wanted to eat meat. The food and mocktails were extremely tasty, but what surprised us most were the vegetarian dishes. I particularly liked the fried pointed cabbage :) The staff was friendly and accommodating, and we never had to wait long. The furnishings are a highlight in themselves and create an extraordinary, almost magical atmosphere. All in all, the high price is justified and a visit is more than worth it!

We recently tried the last restaurant in the Seen group... (Ya, Seen, Chois, Le Du) When you see the restaurant from the outside, you don't expect much... ... but if you then go down the stairs, you come into a very stylish ambience. Quite dark, but the tables are well lit. The service is an A with stars, very friendly and attentive. We chose the 5-course 2020 Classic menu and were not disappointed. Nicely presented food that was served at a pleasant pace. The taste was very good, the price wasn't cheap but it was definitely reasonable for us. Although we prefer the Sichuan cuisine of the lake, it was a very tasty, almost fine dine evening. We will be back.

Yesterday we went to YA and we absolutely loved it. We had the 5-course menu with wine accompaniment. The meal was a taste journey. Our server was so attentive and friendly. He told us what we were eating and also some information about the respective wines. After dinner we had a tea ceremony. This was also presented and served so beautifully. We visited the YA Mandarin Room restaurant as part of the Dining Class program (evening newspaper and Rindchen-Weinkontor). We were greeted very friendly and shown to the table; The restaurant is really tastefully decorated, you sit comfortably, perhaps a little close to the neighboring table. The aperitif, a Sauvignon Blanc sparkling wine from Puklavec, well chilled, whetted our appetite for more. First course: Thai asparagus with lotus roots and homemade pancakes, really al dente but not a bit woody, first class; a perfect entrée. Second course: salmon carpaccio with various vegetables, especially a very finely grated mild (!) ginger, excellent. The Vilain Rosé Grenache is very good. Third course: Dumpings filled with beef, once made from wheat flour, once incorporated into an eggplant, again accompanied by various vegetables. Very good!! The Pinot Gris wasn't necessarily our favorite, although this is of course a personal assessment. Fourth course: Canton duck, wonderfully fried, absolutely tender, again served with various vegetables. Plus wafer-thin Chinese pancakes to wrap meat and vegetables. The Rioja Reserva, Licenciado, a really good wine, but unfortunately served too warm. The sesame balls with espresso for dessert rounded everything off. CONCLUSION: Very varied menu, good wines and the whole thing at a price of €79 including the wine accompaniment (this price is only for the dining class menu)

I am enthusiastic about the restaurant "Ya". Not really the price, but it was reasonable for the quality of the food. We ordered the dinner menu for 2 people for €99 with dishes. Starter was carpaccio of salmon and baby spinach. Then the mixed DimSum and Gutie (fried Jiaozi, if that tells you anything), then came the best part of the dinner for me, Grilled duck according to the traditional recipe, although as an old hand I have to say that it wasn't a real grilled duck, but a duck baked in the oven. But she was exactly how I knew and learned to love from my parents. The only thing I could criticize about the dish would be that the leek strips could have been a little spicier. But rest was wonderful. At the end of the menu there was Honshu beef, which was also very tasty. For me the duck was the special thing I had missed for a long time. Every restaurant has a different way of preparing it and these days it seems like most restaurants don't serve Peking duck anymore. The duck actually corresponds to the so-called Peking duck preparation in the oven, as it used to have to be ordered days in advance in Chinese restaurants in Germany. The duck is marinated for at least a day and then baked in the oven. Then the duck is sliced ​​and served with pancakes, cucumber and leek strips so that you can make your own wrap/roll. Since me and my son liked it so much, we treated ourselves to the mixed dimsums, shrimp wontons and another portion of duck. The next time we visit, we will only fill ourselves up with 3 portions of duck. And now to the rest. The atmosphere is very nice, modern and traditional at the same time. The care was very friendly and accommodating. We were also warned beforehand that it wasn't real Chinese cuisine but rather fusion cuisine, which I found a bit surprising. But I'm also a fusion Chinese and not a real Chinese. In real Chinese cuisine you will find even more beautiful dishes and also rather different dishes. But I think the waitress is more referring to the average coach Chinese who come in like locusts and don't know anything other than normal Chinese street food, which I miss a lot here in Germany and the portion sizes would simply be too small for a real Chinese person to eat your fill. What was also a novelty for me were the handmade SiuMai's. I know the version from the restaurants to be half the size and also more likely to come from the frozen food chest. You can see that I really liked it and will definitely go there again, even if it is very expensive by Chinese restaurant standards. But the quality and especially my favorite duck was just awesome

Tasty food, friendly service, easy to get to location. All in all I would definitely go back. I shared a menu for 2 people and it was delicious. Only warning is to watch for the chili sign. I’m the low lighting I didn’t realize how many of the dishes were spicy. Despite the heat 😜 I was still able to recognize the nice flavors.

The "Ya" is located in the basement, but is also suitable for a visit in summer because of the terrace. We thought it was beautiful downstairs: very stylishly furnished, dark, separated into different areas. Only the volume was too high for us on both visits, even when only half of the tables were occupied. This bothers many reviewers and should be changed... The rumbling machine at the bar wasn't that pleasant either. The service was always very friendly, but could be more attentive and with guests more often. On our first visit we were only presented with the menu; We only found out that you can also eat à la carte when you asked. On the second visit there was a changed map with individual building blocks. Unfortunately, a lot of things were sold out on the first visit. The portions could be larger. We had dumplings, Canton duck and the fantastic coconut balls Wines cost between €4.90 and €56 / 0.1 l.
