Incredibly dirty there, orders were always wrong and both had stomach pains after eating. We were so looking forward to it but it was definitely the first and last time!

I had on October 31st. A reservation request for 2 people for the same day was sent via email, which unfortunately was not answered. Before we left I called and was told there were problems with the internet. But we could still come over. The ambience and service were completely fine, the place may be a bit dark and old-fashioned, but that's a matter of taste. The actual reason for the visit was much worse: the food. My schnitzel “Miss Piggy” was good so far, but by no means outstanding. My wife's “Schlemmer Schnitzel” already looked very unappetizing due to the sauce. The schnitzel should come with fresh broccoli and fresh mushrooms. The broccoli was frozen and completely overcooked, more like a mush with the sauce, there's no other way to say it. We didn't see any mushrooms. The sauce was more like a porridge. Looked very unappetizing. I asked my wife several times if she really wanted to eat it, which unfortunately she did. On the way home she was already feeling unwell and nauseous. At home, all the food came out completely. Incredible! Apart from the schnitzel, she hadn't eaten anything, no starter and no dessert either. That was our second and last visit there.

500g schnitzel is already powerful. At Schlemmer, however, broccoli and everything is sent through the blender with the sauce. A little disappointed

I'm almost completely satisfied here, but first of all all the best :-), The schnitzels make me happy (craftsmanship, quality and quantity). I find the atmosphere pleasant. The staff was friendly and quick. I'd love to come back. Now to the negative, the seating outside. They are too narrow or uncomfortable for me.

The largest schnitzel was strangely rectangular and was very reminiscent of molded meat! The rest was standard, nothing special! The waiting time until we could order was about 30 minutes, and the food then took another 30 minutes! My colleague got the wrong schnitzel and the wrong drink! But since we wanted to eat together, he made do with that! All in all I was very disappointed!

I ordered a Jägerschnitzel. The schnitzel and the fries are good. However, the sauce wasn't to my taste. It was clearly a sauce that you mix together with a bit of powder and water. I think that's a shame, especially since homemade sauce isn't rocket science.

It was our first visit and I won't eat there again. It took 1 hour from arrival to receiving the food. I ordered a gypsy schnitzel with a small side “Litte Kiss” salad. As I said, after we sat down and I made a reservation, we waited 55 minutes for the food. There were several small pieces of bone in the schnitzel. The fries and the mayo were ok, the gypsy sauce was boring, had no spice and the schnitzel and the sauce were too cold. But I was really annoyed by these little side salads. Hardly any yogurt dressing, 2 half slices of tomato, a slice of onion and otherwise just iceberg lettuce. It was the shittiest salad I've had at a restaurant in my life.

Went there yesterday with 15 people. Table reserved, food pre-ordered. Not enough space. Food served before drinks. Cold . Bud Spencer Schnitzel not edible. The stars I have to give are flattered. A chip shop can do that too. Sorry to every chip shop. XXL schnitzel house never again. Then I'd rather go to a chip shop.

Unfortunately, things are no longer the same as they used to be. You can get frozen schnitzel now, it used to be fresh (but it was a while ago when we were there). Unfortunately we can no longer recommend the schnitzel. We can't say anything about burgers etc. as we all had a schnitzel.

Ambiente ist recht chaotisch aber uhrig. Leider wird kein Wert auf saubere Tische und gutes Besteck gelegt. Es standen Brot-Marmeladen-Messer bereit, für ein Schnitzel Haus unpassend. Die Tischbeleuchtung blendet, da sie direkt und nicht indirekt strahlt. Nach dem ersten Getränk bin ich fast verdurstet, keine Bedingung in Sicht. Das Servieren von Essen sollte hier noch mal geübt werden und auch wenn die Person keine Getränke bringt, sollte sie leere Gläser bemerken. Nach dem Essen musste ich zur Theke um zu bezahlen und selbst hier wurde ich eine gefühlte Ewigkeit ignoriert. Der Spruch "oh, ihr habt ja schnell aufgegessen" passte zu meiner Warnung, sie hatte die Zeit mit Quatschen verbracht. Den Zigarettenqualm Geruch konnte ich gerade so ignorieren. Naja, dafür das der Laden nur 2 Besetzte Tische hatte war keine Zeit für die Gäste. Für das Erlebnis hab ich 65€ bezahlt... TK Schnitzel mit Fertigsoße.... Gastronomie geht anders!

So the atmosphere is great, there's a lot of cool stuff hanging around and you always have something new to discover while you're waiting. The music being played is more suitable for a foggy shisha bar... The menu, with nice and funny names for the dishes, leaves you wanting more I've actually had better food but it was okay so at least it was plenty The best thing to recommend is probably the ribs, they are good! but not the schnitzels... The service left a lot to be desired. I felt a bit overwhelmed. They didn't ask for a second drink and just disappeared straight into the kitchen. Maybe there's still a lack of staff

A middle-class schnitzel house with a certain ambience that is made to be funny. Unfortunately the schnitzels are just ok. From the taste of the schnitzel to the sauces, everything is unfortunately just middle class. We were even brought the wrong schnitzel, which of course was eaten, but there was no apology, even if it had only been a short sorry. Unfortunately, the price is not justified for what you get here. The homepage looks very poor. The owner, Mr. Halil, should help out a little here.

The food tastes very bland. Schnitzel is only made from pork. No veal schnitzel on the menu. It's a shame if you call yourself a Schnitzelhaus. The schnitzels seem to be made in the pan, but they taste like nothing. The arrangement of the court is very loveless. Almost soulless. A casually thrown lettuce leaf with a slice of cucumber and a small piece of tomato, the whole thing completely unseasoned, doesn't make the picture any better. You really taste the fat and the fried fat and notice that it is not the freshest. And that even though we have dinner at lunchtime. Unfortunately the service was only there for ordering. Very rude. The restaurant is open until 10 p.m. At 9:30 p.m. I was forced to pay because they wanted to close now. The chance for dessert was therefore denied. I have to say, quite honestly, with disappointment: it used to be better! Despite the few guests, the service seemed a bit overwhelmed and unmotivated to take the order. We sat outside towards the parking lot. Unfortunately, the drink glasses were not clean as was the table surface. We ordered 1x Schnitzel Hawaii and 1x Jägerschnitzel, both size M. The Hawaiian schnitzel was cold and the pineapple just skipped by, as did the mushrooms in the Jägerschnitzel. Fries were crispy but without seasoning. There was also no option to add seasoning. The side salad was a bit carelessly presented on the plate. There was no question as to whether everything was okay! Conclusion: It would have been ok for a chip shop at the train station.

Plenty of choice, something for everyone and very tasty. The outside area is cozy and the inside area is very nicely and comfortably furnished. And another big, outstanding plus point...I don't know whether it was the owner or an employee and his colleague were very helpful, because I had a flat tire and the two nice gentlemen changed my car tire, enabling me to have a smooth journey back to Bochum! Thanks again for that!!!!

Have been there many times and always good... but ordered the XXL dragon slayer yesterday. Should be with beef, pork and chicken, onions and peppers... no peppers and no chicken. Unfortunately there were no peppers when asked. And chicken 🤷 not either... for 45 euros and then not everything on it is cheeky. And as a statement you get a beer on the house. Oh well. Service was catastrophic when we took a seat and got a drink. After that, just one more because you went in and asked.

Never again!!! Simple restaurant with an extensive menu. Unfortunately the service was very unmotivated. The task of serving the first drinks took too long in the restaurant, which was quite empty. The pilsner brought was stale and was still charged after complaints. The rump steak we ordered, which according to the menu was supposed to be served medium, was more than well done and not seasoned; salt and pepper were not offered either. The gorgonzola sauce that went with it ran past the cheese and tasted like a roux. Even the fries were salt free. Not a question as to whether it tastes good or whether everything is OK. is. Total disappointment.

The xxl burgers don't work at all, you don't even get a decent burger bun, just a flatbread from Aldi... The schnitzels actually work, but they don't taste any different than in conventional chip shops and the schnitzels are only XXL because they were flattened as a Viennese. The waitresses don't really feel like doing the job and you have to chase after drinks later. A pity!

The food and the portions are really good. The service, if you want to call it that, is absolutely non-existent. The service is overwhelmed with everything. After a long time yesterday we went to the Schnitzel Haus in Menden. Food was quite good.....there were No frozen schnitzel served but everything made fresh. The service was good. Food comb quite quickly. The ambience could do with a bit of work.

Made a lot with wood, I like it. Only I could hear a beeping in the background from the direction of the bar, which after a while got to me. Otherwise everything was OK.

We were quite hopeful given the great reviews and an average rating of 4.5. However, we were bitterly disappointed. My wife had a tomato soup and the baguette with aioli and herb butter. My daughter had a portion of fries and I had the Bud Spencer schnitzel. The tomato soup was carelessly served in an oversized cup with a chipped edge. A little spray cream on it, done. A gourmet spoon was misused as a spoon. I think the chef has no idea what this spoon is originally used for. The baguette was thin strips that were simply baked completely dry. Basically a baguette cookie. And the side salad was a dried slice of tomato, cucumber and iceberg lettuce with ready-made sauce. The whole thing was pretty loveless. We didn't feel like any of it was homemade. Let's get to the schnitzel. Big yes, meat was juicy. But also very greasy. The breading wasn't crispy. The cheese was quite tasteless. The fries weren't good and tasted like cardboard. My two year old daughter didn't eat the fries. I think that says enough. I suspect there is too much emphasis here on speed and large portions. Unfortunately, this means that the love for food is completely lost. It's a shame because the service is very friendly. It's very nice to sit in and the restaurant has a certain cosiness to it. So the potential is absolutely there. If the kitchen does a little more, that would be a recommendation. Unfortunately not at all and I'm really surprised at the positive reviews. That's not because of the XXL format, there are other XXL restaurants that absolutely deliver.

Really okay the first time, really bad the second time. The cheese for the gratin was very spoiled, according to the kitchen it was impossible, but I still only had to pay half the price 🤔. The sanitary facilities are really underground and just as dirty and unhygienic as the rest of the place. The service is also really bad, we were only there a second time because we liked it the first time and I didn't see the toilets 😔 We're definitely not coming back. Simply NoGo across the board.

So tasty, well-seasoned schnitzel with the right amount of potatoes and salad. The person who served us and served the dishes despite arriving too early, even before the opening hour, deserves a big plus. The decor is rather old-fashioned and a bit kitschy (a hanging kayak combined with a horse harness😆) and a few other flowers, but surprisingly clean. The faint smell of cooking food lingering in the air. After the visit, the clothes still smelled good for a few hours. The prices may be a bit high, but the compromise is quite large portions. In a word, if you want to eat tasty food and have a little more money in your wallet, it is worth trying it and seeing for yourself.

Unfortunately just an average restaurant. Because of the good reviews, we made the one-hour journey from Essen and were a little disappointed. We were pleasantly surprised that we were able to reserve a table on a Saturday. We also couldn't confirm the difficult parking situation. When we arrived around 6:15 p.m. there were only 2 cars there. What was a shame was that the nice waitress had to cancel a lot of things for us. Berliner Weisse was out, spareribs and currywurst were out. As compensation we were allowed to choose a schnapps on the house, but this was a bit unusual for a main sales day on Saturday and at this early hour, especially since spareribs would have had to be marinated a few hours beforehand. Well, due to the lack of small alternatives to the Monster Burger, all four of us ate schnitzel, with very funny names. You can order these in three sizes and even my request for chicken was fulfilled. The fries were crispy and tasty, the portion of mayo was enough for me, but unfortunately not enough for the person opposite me. Overall, the plate was very empty, but all the schnitzels were very juicy and tasty. The schnitzel "Teufel" with hot pepper sauce turned out to be an "angel" with a very thick cream sauce and a handful of peppercorns, the "Holsteiner" schnitzel medium size L 500g with a fried egg unfortunately only had exactly one tiny egg on top and the schnitzel, which It was supposed to be filled with spinach and cheese, but unfortunately there was only some spinach and cheese in the middle. The "Witwe Bolte" schnitzel, which was supposed to be baked with spinach, tomatoes and cheese, was the only thing that corresponded to the idea, although we found the plates to be much too big and correspondingly empty and uneven, which meant that they rotated Cutting around on the table in a totally stupid way. If you live around the corner, it's certainly a nice meeting place or for guests to share a monster burger by 4, but it's not worth the long journey.

The food and the ambience were good, the rest was a disaster for us. 4 adults and 2 children had reserved for 6 p.m. Unfortunately, no one knew about the reservation when we arrived, but we still got a table. Then we waited 20 minutes until drinks and food were taken. The drinks were served quickly but we had to wait until 7:45 p.m. for the food, which was too long for us since we were there at 6 p.m., especially with children. The schnitzels were very good, and the children's portions were also very good. Unfortunately, no attention was paid to empty glasses and when we independently pointed out that we wanted to drink something, the waitress came back 15 minutes later to take the drinks. The schnitzels were perfect.The pork fillet too.French fries and croquettes weren't tasty (French fries tasted like they had been fried again and croquettes were still soft).Side salad carelessly thrown onto the plate and no dressing.Vegan baked potatoes too little sour cream.Conclusion:The meat was great Rest not so great.

I've probably eaten a lot of schnitzel, but the meat here is really amazing. Mega tender, no tendons or cartilage. All sauces delicious. Service friendly and also quite quick. Prices for this kitchen are absolutely ok...

Unfortunately, my chicken schnitzel was much smaller compared to the pork schnitzel of my companions and I don't think it was 300g either. And even though the food wasn't particularly warm, the taste was quite good, except for the broccoli, which was very sour.

We ate at the XXL Schnitzelhaus for the first time today and never again. The first schnitzel came out wrong. The second schnitzel was inedible. The sauce looked like puke (Schnitzel Bollywood) Instead of a small drink, a large one came. Sry guys, that doesn't work.

A quite acceptable restaurant with a large selection of schnitzels at normal prices these days. The quality is ok, the enormous selection of sauces is fascinating and sometimes takes a while to choose. The taste was ok, unfortunately there were a few bone splinters in the meat for the first time today. But something like that can happen. Fried potatoes are good too. Overall, not an insider tip, but definitely useful and it wasn't the first or last time I was there today.

Unfortunately, it's a shame, we would have liked to rate and enjoy the food, but despite the free seats that were visible, there was no room for the 3 of us, a shame. It was the first time we came and probably the last time. Even though the lady was very nice and said no, unfortunately there is no space left, we are full. That's why there are 2 stars for the service, because I can't rate it more and the ambience looked nice but nothing more. The two stars refer to what I was able to rate, but since I can't rate more than half of them, I can't give any stars that I can't judge.

The food was okay. Nothing that knocked me off my feet, but okay. The service is disappointingly friendly but not really accessible. We had to pay for our food at the counter because the waitress didn't respond to us waving. All in all, the restaurant visit was ok. (3-)

First we (2 people) were welcomed at the entrance and assigned to our reserved table. The atmosphere is rustic, which goes well with the wonderful menu. A bit too much frills for my taste but that's ultimately a matter of discretion as long as it's clean and that's what it was or is. I found the table arrangement a bit oppressive, which unfortunately seemed like “The main thing is to set up a table and collect the money!”. The person sitting next to me could have easily stolen the fries from my plate. After receiving the menu, the disaster began!!! The waitress gave the impression that she didn't want to do her job and was accordingly friendly and ambitious. We ordered our drinks, starter and main course. Unfortunately, the starter came before the drinks, which came quickly when asked. The starters baguette with tomato mozzarella and bagutte with aioli and herb butter. Goods - 1 star. The bagutte was fried in old fat, fried on one side and was incredibly salty. The other side was soaked with grease and wobbly. The herb butter was fresh out of the fridge and correspondingly hard. The main course was very good in terms of portion size and in terms of taste, well if you like ready-made products. I'm not a fan of it at all but luckily you can't go wrong. The schnitzels were very bad for a schnitzel house because they were simply fried to death and the second one was unfortunately very rich. Half of the plates were left standing! It's a shame because the concept itself is really great! I'm happy to pay more if the food is good and fresh! We're definitely not coming back!!!

The two of us went to the Schnitzelhaus Menden. The atmosphere is reminiscent of an old restaurant that has been spruced up with a little decoration. Totally OK for us. After we waited 45 minutes for the starter (bread with aioli), the main course arrived after another 15 minutes. Unfortunately, apart from the schnitzel, in my opinion this was made exclusively from ready-made products and did not suit our taste at all. In other restaurants, people ask in between or at the end whether everything is OK. I suspect that wasn't done consciously :-) The bill was around 58 euros. Price is OK, unfortunately that was the only thing that was OK from our point of view. We preferred to move dessert to another restaurant. Unfortunately we do NOT recommend the Schnitzelhaus.

I thought the food was delicious, many varieties of steaks, and delicious, but the beer was too hot, the price is appropriate for the food, you can repeat it, but the beer is cold.

A birthday that was unfortunately a complete disappointment thanks to the visit to the XXl Schnitzhaus Menden. First we had to wait over an hour for the food. At this time, other guests were already returning their food and complaining to the staff, which made us skeptical. We were served, among other things, by a gentleman in sweatpants who appeared to have just gotten off the couch and had farted in his pants a few times on the way to work. He had also brought too few forks and napkins when the food finally came to the table. 15 minutes later we finally had the opportunity to eat the already almost cold food. Unfortunately, the taste of the food was more than disappointing, which is very annoying for this price. We sometimes had the huge XXL cheeseburger (€34), which we left almost entirely alone. A waitress began to clear the table while we were eating because other guests were waiting for a free table, which we found more than outrageous. When the bill came (almost 90 € for 4 dishes that were almost completely left behind) we naturally complained. There was no apology. No, thank you, you will not see us again as guests and we will not recommend you to anyone!
