Xigon in Berlin

The food was delicious and the customer service is good. I recommend this place for every sushi lover.

A small but super nice and cozy restaurant in the middle of the inconspicuous edge We definitely recommend the Yuzu Dragon and the sushi platters, but every other dish also tastes amazing❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥💜🩵🫶🫶 The restaurant is best reached on foot as it is on a side street... There is currently a construction site nearby which makes parking difficult, but even without it it is always difficult. That's why it's better to take the tram or S and U train there :)

Just ordered via Lieferando. 1. the food was cold. 2. I ordered 3x mango salad for the ladies for €6.90 each. For the price, we would have expected it to be adequately filling. End result: 1/4 unripe hard mango with 3/4 leaf lettuce. No tofu or chicken, no peanuts, no bean sprouts, no carrots. Just boring. And I could have made the salad better for €1.50. 3. the coconut soup tasted as if someone had poured a can of coconut milk over raw, unseasoned vegetables and then warmed them up. And tomato in a Thai soup? Doesn't fit and I've never heard it like that before. The tofu was delicious. 4. fried flat rice noodles, consisted of 80% flat rice noodles, the rest was fried onions and maybe 1% vegetables. Again, completely unseasoned, I only tasted fried onions. The duck was very dry. All in all, very loveless and for €37. Unfortunately we were very dissatisfied, I would like to join in with the positive comments here.

Food very tasty, service nice, we come regularly. The only thing I find unpleasant is that the card reader has a preset tip of 15%. In addition, the door is constantly open, which is cold in winter.

Oh, the udon noodles with tofu are a delight, especially in this cold, wet weather. Good sushi, beautifully served, the eye can also eat. Very pleasant atmosphere, small and cozy. You can make it on site or have the pho delivered to your home.

Everything is delicious here. The sushi, the salads, the hot dishes. We had a peanut sauce dish that was exquisite. The atmosphere is also super cozy and elegant. Always a reliable choice when looking for Asian fusion and sushi 😍

Unfortunately, I cannot agree with the majority here. Soup was just lukewarm and more broth than anything else, just like the waitress who didn't even crack a smile. After the sushi that followed, we all had stomach aches. The toilet also showed how careful they are about hygiene. No recommendation.

Friendly, competent service, a certain Asian charm

We were guests at Xigon with several people. Personally, I enjoyed the meal with tofu, peanut sauce and vegetables. I would have liked a little more vegetables and less sauce. The prices are rather higher. The staff was perhaps a little too attentive. Being constantly stared at makes me feel uncomfortable. Some people might find the sign with the vegan slogan funny; if I had been here alone, it would have been a reason not to enter the restaurant in the first place. Overall, there was no wow effect.

The restaurant is small but nice. If you like to eat casually, without a lot of fancy, this is the place for you. The service is relatively polite and the food preparation is quick. Unfortunately only four out of five stars because it seems a bit cramped when there are several people in there at once and you can feel the rush when a lot is ordered. Especially delivery…

Unfortunately the quality of the food decreased. Also one of the delivery guys has an agressive vibe. He doesn't want to come up, rings the bell continuesly until you come down. Not the kind of vibe you want to get:(

Went there to eat, we had 2 soups and 3 small scampi size 4 cm each, without a side dish for the scampi, which cost 11 euros!!! Drinks 2 beers and a small soft drink total cost 40 euros. !!!! Once and never again. It was cold in the restaurant because the front door was always open. If you want a cold and want small portions at unheard of prices, this is the place for you. I can't understand the good reviews, but you can buy everything on the internet.!!!

Small Asian restaurant, but not exactly cheap and with small portions. Quite nice and cozy in and of itself. But if you sit at the tables near the entrance in colder temperatures, you should dress warmly or risk a cold in the following days. The outside door does not have an automatic locking mechanism, so almost everyone who comes in unintentionally leaves the door open. The curtain in front of the door doesn't really help to block the cold.

Very disappointing! After we enjoyed ordering here very often for a long time, as the food was always very good, we will avoid ordering from this restaurant again. What you can still ignore is that I had to wait a whole 2 hours for delivery on October 1st, 2024 (Tuesday). Without any mention or apology from the driver... Yesterday (October 12th, 2024) around 6 p.m. we placed another order (#8178). Of course, we know that there may be longer delivery times on Saturday evenings. But when there was no delivery after almost 3 hours, we tried again and again to reach someone there by phone. In vain. I also didn't receive a reply to my email. In the end there was no delivery at all the entire evening! The order must have been “sloppily messed up”? We'll probably never know...

In my opinion, the portions are getting smaller and the prices have risen. I used to enjoy eating or ordering here because both the quality and the price/performance ratio were right. But that has now changed completely, which is a shame. I now prefer other alternatives

Xigon exceeded our expectations. We had the beef carpaccio, one of the fried rolls, golden sake noodles and the peanut curry and all were so delicious! Will be back next time I’m in Berlin.

More appearance than reality! The entire kitchen staff was at the front, right next to the guests, sitting on the floor and smoking (Picture 1). Sort of like in Vietnam... only here we are in Germany where hygiene should still be important. As you can see in the picture, the kitchen helpers wear gloves when smoking, and then go back into the kitchen and prepare the sushi. No thanks. In addition, the card was completely dirty... also easy to see in picture 2. No thanks... if you don't want to get food poisoning, you should avoid the restaurant!

I have always been a loyal customer of this restaurant, but unfortunately my last visit was very disappointing. Either there was a change of ownership or major changes in the kitchen. Men is definitely noticing strong cost savings in all corners. The food is no longer as good and the service is below average and unfortunately I won't be coming here again.

The world's worst restaurant for home delivery It's 23:440 and I've been waiting for more than an hour and a half for my order. I go down to pick up the delivery man in a very well known spot, my street is central, one of the most central streets in Berlin. You can't get lost with a map or compass and it's 2 kilometres from the restaurant. The worst service of my life

Best cost benefit for this kind of cuisine

Really delicious food and has been renovated and attractively designed over the years! There is plenty of seating inside and outside - beautifully located on Petersburger Platz. The service is always on point and friendly. The starters are particularly delicious!

We had promised more from this restaurant. My wakame was still half frozen when served. The rest of the dishes were good. The ambience (we sat outside) had seen better days. The waitress couldn't even bring herself to smile slightly when serving (it seemed to me that everything was too much for her) and she couldn't handle criticism at all. All in all, unfortunately I can't really recommend the Xigon.

Very rich. Tasty dishes. My girlfriend commented that it is the best sushi she has had in years. My dish was very tasty (red curry chicken). We went very early for lunch so there was no one else there, everything went pretty quickly. Prices according to Berlin.

I'm just shocked at such poor service. The waitress was very rude from the start, and her expression clearly said, "Why are you even here?" When I asked to leave out an ingredient in my dish, she became rude and clearly didn't pass the instruction on to the chef. I have a severe allergy to this ingredient and it could have cost me my life. Luckily, I immediately noticed that she ignored my request and didn't touch the food. I think this is very negligent treatment of customers. It's clear that this restaurant doesn't value its guests - the tables are dirty and sticky, the service is terrible, and the food isn't particularly good either. To top it all off, she tried to take my plate away before I finished eating and ended up expecting a tip too... She really didn't deserve that. Never set foot in this restaurant again!!!!

A nice, small restaurant with a terrace. The food was very tasty! We particularly enjoyed the Pho and reminded us of our trips to Vietnam. The price was cheap despite the fantastic taste. An absolute recommendation!

The best tofu I've ever eaten! The food is really fresh and tastes a 10/10! The outdoor area is also super comfortable to sit in. The service was also very friendly.

We stumbled on Xigon by chance a few years ago and we then came back regularly every summer to enjoy the food, the wine and the outdoor seating, but obviously this place has changed, and not for good.

Great atmosphere, attentive and friendly staff. The Yellow Curry was really good, but the ingredients were swimming in coconut milk and it was a bit too sweet for a Curry. Still worth it.

Since my review was removed as "fake" by google, I will write one from the account which I also used for ordering from them, maybe there will be less confussion then. I ordered from Xigon in February 2023 while being very sick, my food arrived after 1 hour and 40 minutes and completely cold. I had no means at that time to warm it up, so it compeletely ruined my evening. I contacted the restaurant through contact form I found on their website twice, but got no answer. I would have not posted a review if they answered. Not only did they not, but also they requested my review to be taken down.

Really a nice discovery in the middle of Friedrichshain. Were here for lunch. Large tasty portions. The food is presented and served very attractively. Very nice and not intrusive service. The coffee is absolutely a MUST in this restaurant.

I've known the store for a very long time, unfortunately it has lost so much quality because the business mainly focuses on the delivery service, I was there again yesterday, unfortunately the price/performance ratio is no longer much too overpriced. So there are much better stores, it's not what it used to be. I'm not stingy but I paid €87 yesterday and I deeply regret it, it's really just a rip-off shop.

What's wrong with you? We have been your regular customer for over 4 years. We often ate at your place and often ordered delivery. Everything was always delicious. Something has been going wrong for some time. I thought it might be due to the delivery order, heavy traffic etc, although it used to arrive tasty, but lately it has been arriving in very poor condition and taste. Today I decided to visit your site and check what the problem is. Unfortunately, these dishes and sushi were no longer what they once were. The duck was burnt, there was very little meat, the sushi rolls were small, they all fell apart and the taste was not good at all. I don't know what's wrong with your quality, but something is very bad.

The food is very tasty and the price is right. However, the service was unfortunately not very good. We had to wait forever for every action (getting a card, ordering and then getting food). Unfortunately, the atmosphere isn't very nice either because the store is now primarily set up for delivery service, which means that delivery people are constantly picking up bags while we were ignored. But it tasted very good and I would give it another chance another day.

A mixed experience. The sushi and cocktails were absolutely delicious, with fresh ingredients and well-balanced flavors. However, the spicy beef dish was quite bland and disappointing. The atmosphere needs improvement; there were spider webs on lamps and a thick layer of dust on some lamp shades, which detracted from the overall experience. Unfortunately, the tempura were extremely soggy. Both of us probably had a queasy stomach for an hour after eating. Very unfortunate. We expected much more from the reviews.

I just happened to stop by there because I had to kill some time for an appointment. Xigon looks very inviting from the outside, with outdoor seating, and the whole thing continues inside. The waitresses were all very polite and attentive. The food, even though I only ordered a little - I would have loved to order the whole menu, but I wasn't that hungry 😅 - was very tasty and fresh. I'd love to come back when I'm in the area again.

Update 2024: The operator of this “restaurant” is now trying to have a lawyer delete negative reviews on the grounds that there is supposedly “no business relationship”. However, I can prove that this is not true. Other users report the same thing. Incredible business practices, I'm really at a loss for words. Unfortunately, this store is absolutely not recommended, especially when it comes to delivered food. We waited over 90 minutes for 2 dishes and in the end the wrong food came. The note “Only vegetables, no tofu” was turned into “WITHOUT vegetables, WITHOUT tofu” - i.e. sauce with rice for €6.60. The restaurant cannot be reached by telephone as only the mailbox is always answered. The other dish was supposedly “chicken crispy”. In the end it was tons of limp breading soaked in fat. This has nothing to do with good food and the price is not justified at all. Every little Asian place around the corner is miles better in quality.

Today I had white fish in my chicken curry. The quality of the sushi has also dropped significantly. The prices have also skyrocketed and are by no means justified. I can only say that I feel completely cheated as a regular guest. The prices went up about 100% within few days. They gave us a menu with erased old prices although on their official website nothing has changed. The restaurant slowly getting empty coz nobody come for noodles for 25, 29Eur and small beer Tiger for 6e in the heart of Lichtenberg. Ridiculously you can order food online by Liferando with old prices to. How come? On the top of everything they are out of lot position of sushi and serve weaker drinks than usually. Its an easy way to go bankrupt.

Great Food has known the shop since the first days over 15 years ago. I still don't like eating there even though I now know the entire menu by heart.

UPD: I've received a very deep apology in Wolt app with 2EUR bonus, which is very nice of them so I updated my service rating from one star to three. Ordered takeaway. The courier (who was a restaurant worker, they deliver food themselves) was rude because didn’t see the name mentioned in my order so he couldn’t find the right door bell, called me, I called him back exactly two minutes later and he was shouting at me on the phone because he felt irritated. Very unfortunate experience for almost 100€ order. I believe they could have handled it better and learn how app works or call the restaurant to find out details without being rude to client and complaining that it’s not their problem to know their clients name. I always tip couriers when I order delivery and I understand it’s a hard job but it just makes me sad that people can’t act kindly especially when they’re clearly in the wrong. I wish all the best and hope that they can find peace but I’m not returning to the restaurant again even though it wasn’t my first order there.

Update: The Xigon operator reported all (exclusively) negative reviews to Google and forced them to be deleted. Apparently you need proof that you were really with Xigon. I suggest that everyone concerned go to the restaurant, take a photo with the overpriced menu and repeat the review. The excessive prices and the increase is a fact and is documented. What exactly the lady wants to claim in her threatened lawsuit remains unclear. Nobody who complained about the increase in prices was lying 🤷🏻‍♂️ A huge disappointment. We have been coming here to eat for years. Suddenly the prices exploded. Where fried sushi cost 10.50, this now costs €18. Yes, everything is becoming more expensive, but not to this extent. The sushi hasn't been at a discount price yet. After looking at the manually modified map, we got up and left.

Just super tasty. The portions are also large enough, even for the sushi menus. And I say that as a man who likes to eat a little more. Absolute recommendation!

Update: 03/2024 I have received an email informing that my review will be deleted if I do not send evidence that I have been eating at Xigon in August 2023. Under threat of going to court. Based on the other reviews, it seems that Xigon is reporting all negative reviews with the presumed purpose of increasing the average rating of their restaurant. Don't go to Xigon! But if you go, keep the receipts for years or your review will be deleted. If you don't like your customers' freedom of expression, maybe you shouldn't run a restaurant. The food used to be good. But the price increase is shameless. A Cola used to cost €3.50 and now costs €5, an increase of 42%. Even at the Television Tower Restaurant, drinking a Cola is cheaper. It costs €4'20. We'll never eat at Xigon again.

Unfortunately we had a bad experience here after my wife had a sushi she fell intoxicated with fever 40.2c and vomit. Since after checking reviews i saw that this place is reporting all 1 star reviews so they can be deleted, im attaching my bank statement as proof that i was there.

Interesting: the operator is currently trying to have all bad reviews removed by Google, which is why the rating has recently risen from 4.2 to 4.5 again. Clumsy - customers will still write their honest opinions. Original text: Aperol for 12.50€ and my curry now costs 17€ - people, this is really over now... it no longer has anything to do with inflation, it's just greed!

There's no complaining about the sushi and the hot dishes. The team here is a bit younger and there is a lot of staff in the kitchen. In my opinion, a bit too much, because some people don't really know what to do and keep others from working by talking loudly. Personal negative highlight, the sushi chef blows his nose into a large handkerchief while preparing it, keeps his gloves on and all of this directly over the sushi... We are not very sensitive, but that was rather less "tasty".

Prices have been increased drastically!!! A 0.33 Tiger beer costs a ridiculous €6.00!! Small cola costs €5.00 The dish “beef strips with vegetables and rice” has been increased from €14.90 to €25.00! For a Pho Ga, which by the way only tastes mediocre, we now charge €18.00!

We came here quite late in the evening, so it was justifiably rushed. To start, I had a gin sake cocktail, which was amazing in taste. For food, I split a deluxe sushi platter for one with my friend and then a king prawn yakisoba for main. The food was delivered quickly, and the sushi set was innovatively delivered in the presentation. I would say it was plentiful with just sharing the 1 person variant The main dish I wasn't expecting the prawns to be like battered torpedo ones but flavours good. Overall, it's a decent sushi place !

I would like to highlight the friendliness of the staff and the decoration of the dishes, but I think they abuse the prices. In a few years they have tripled prices, and that is nothing compared to inflation. The price list on the website is not up to date. A main course currently costs between €18 and €23 on average. Yesterday I ordered a portion of tempura and it was burnt. My companion's dish was fine. And the rooms are very cramped. The neighboring table is 20 cm away. Super crowded and loud. You had to trip over the chairs to get in and out. I won't go there anymore. It used to be my favorite restaurant because of the value for money, but that is no longer the case.

I thought it would be a simple asiatic restaurant for a simple Sunday evening… But Xigon was a great surprise to me…. the food is delicious and so well presented, the decor of the restaurant is elegant and the staff is nice… I would really recommend you to try it ! Well done to the team !!
