Delicious and varied food, lovely atmosphere, and friendly staff. Unfortunately, I can't bring my girlfriend along anymore because Waldi is way too good-looking. All joking aside, the staff were really nice, and Waldi took great care of us. 🤝🏼

I've been there before... it's gone downhill quite a bit. It's incredibly loud. The food was cold... "crispy" duck... more like soggy duck. When I asked the waitress if everything was okay, I pointed these things out openly and just got the rude reply that it should have been stirred, and then she stormed off in a really angry mood. It's a shame, really. I won't be going there again and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Despite having called ahead and made an online reservation, the two of us were seated at a table with two other guests. We were also expected to pay the bill as if we were a group of four. After repeatedly pointing out that we had reserved a separate table for two, we were offered another table – but with the caveat that we would have to vacate it as soon as the originally reserved guests arrived. On Valentine's Day, the staff seemed overwhelmed and, unfortunately, rather unfriendly. We therefore decided to leave the restaurant and eat elsewhere.

The food was very good and plentiful. We enjoyed it very much, and the staff was also very friendly. Waldi, in particular, was always on the ball! Thank you very much, and see you next time!

XIAO in Krefeld is a buffet restaurant specializing in Asian cuisine. It offers a wide selection of dishes and features a counter with build-to-order options. You select fresh ingredients and sauces, and your food is freshly prepared and brought to your table. In my opinion, the service is excellent. I've been there several times, but what impressed me most in terms of friendliness, explanations, helpfulness, and speed was Waldi (Waldemar), a truly attentive waiter. The ambiance is cozy, with ample space at the tables and buffet. It's clean and warmly lit. The seating is comfortable and offers suitable options for groups of varying sizes. The restaurant is on the ground floor and therefore wheelchair accessible. The only drawback is that the restrooms are located upstairs, and I didn't see an elevator. However, they are very clean, spacious, and pleasant, as far as I can tell. For me, it's a stylish buffet restaurant that only shows slight weaknesses when it's not very busy, as the dishes can sometimes be lukewarm instead of piping hot. However, this can be avoided by choosing to have your meal freshly prepared. Ultimately, this is highly recommended for fans of Asian cuisine or those with a hearty appetite. Parking and access are also easy and plentiful.

On Valentine's Day, you want to enjoy a leisurely meal and conversation. Here, however, it feels more like a mass processing operation: eat quickly and make room for the next guests. The welcome at the entrance was absolutely unfriendly – ​​you immediately feel unwelcome. The employee at the entrance was arrogant and disrespectful, and the woman at the door, with her annoyed looks, eye rolls, and gestures, was just as unpleasant. We used to be regulars, but that was definitely the last time.

We had a really lovely evening... the waitress was particularly nice; she was very polite and efficient... the food was delicious and varied. What we didn't like was that one table ordered the hot stone dish, and we five tables away could barely breathe and everything was foggy... there needs to be better ventilation. On Valentine's Day, you're treated like you're on an assembly line here. The whole thing is just a mass-production affair. After only an hour and a half, we were told to leave our table because the next guests were already waiting outside. The problem: There was absolutely no mention of this beforehand. Not online, not when we made the reservation, and not at the entrance. This kind of thing needs to be clearly communicated in advance. The owner was arrogant, unfriendly, and completely disrespectful. An employee even reacted with strange looks and gestures, as if we were unwelcome. That's no way to treat guests. Never again.

Unfortunately, I have to give this a bad review. The staff is completely overwhelmed. There were long queues on February 14th, 2026, when it was clear that more people were coming. We arrived promptly at 7 pm. There was chaos, even at the drinks counter. All in all, a very unpleasant experience. We will not be visiting this restaurant again.

A lack of communication unfortunately led to our leaving. Yes, going without a reservation might have been rash, but we hadn't planned on sitting comfortably chatting and eating at a table where we would have to share it with strangers. We generally prefer to sit next to each other, but were then asked to switch places, which didn't make much sense to me. Especially since the request was phrased in a rather uncustomer-oriented manner. Perhaps a bit petty, but considering the situation, the right approach would have been to mention the shared table arrangement when we chose it. That way, neither we nor you would have wasted so much time, and we would have come back another day with a reservation.

Delicious food, always freshly prepared. Most importantly, something different from the typical Chinese buffet dishes. Freddy provided friendly and attentive service ;-)

Absolutely outrageous! We drove 50 km out of our way and were kicked out mid-meal because the owner suddenly said they were "fully booked." The fact that we could only stay for 1.5 hours wasn't clearly stated anywhere beforehand. That's no way to treat guests! Unprofessional, disrespectful, and poorly organized. Never again!

The buffet selection was truly excellent and varied – from duck, chicken, and fish to side dishes like potatoes, there was something for everyone. I enjoyed many of the dishes. Unfortunately, some of the food, especially some of the meat dishes, wasn't piping hot, but rather lukewarm to cold. This somewhat marred the overall impression. Another minor drawback was the dessert bowls: they were tilted, making them rather awkward to fill, as desserts like pudding almost tipped out. Overall, however, the visit was good, with a wide selection and mostly delicious food. With a few improvements to the food temperature and the dessert dishes, it would have been significantly better.

We visited Xiao Krefeld for the first time today. It might have been because we were there on a Saturday during peak hours, but the parking situation was chaotic; we waited about 15 minutes for a spot, which wasn't fun at all. However, once we were inside Xiao, everything was great. It was very clean, the service was excellent and professionally organized. The food was delicious, and the selection was huge. The quality of the food was absolutely fine for €28 all-you-can-eat; I've definitely had much worse. Since it was packed, the air in the restaurant was a bit stuffy at times, but never bothersome. We felt very comfortable, and I can wholeheartedly recommend Xiao. They're not reinventing the wheel here, and it's not Michelin-starred cuisine, but the value for money is absolutely top-notch, and they leave almost nothing to be desired. I'm only deducting one star because of the parking situation and the poor directions... I'd wager that every second person going there for the first time gets lost ;)

We had a great meal in a stylish setting. I loved the deli counter where you can create your own delicious dishes from a wide variety of vegetables, meats, fish, prawns, and octopus. I was surprised by the Italian counter; I don't think that's necessary in a Chinese supermarket, but oh well. The desserts were phenomenal, too.

I have to say that the food has drastically deteriorated since my first visit years ago. The chicken in almost every pan seems to be diced, processed meat; it tastes limp, the breading on some of the chicken casings is rubbery, and it has a strong artificial aftertaste. The taste has really taken a turn for the worse, and it's absolutely not justified by the price. We've already had a party here with over 20 people and spent a lot of money, but it seems we'll have to look for alternatives in the future.

Everything was just as you'd want when eating out. Food was constantly replenished, the staff was friendly, and the location was great. Leftovers from the buffet were sold for a small price in the evenings instead of being thrown away. A really good concept.

Best Chinese food I've ever had.

I was there on January 23rd with my family (a group of twelve). The food, the decor, and the service were fantastic. Our waiter (Freddy, I think) was super friendly, regularly clearing our plates, asking if everything was okay and if we needed anything else, but not so often that it was annoying. The music, however, was a bit inappropriate, sounding similar to a radio station (but not at an unpleasant volume). I can truly recommend this restaurant to everyone, regardless of the occasion or the number of guests.

We were there for breakfast today with nine people. I have to say we were very disappointed. The buffet was colorful, but there were no juices, and the rest of the selection was really very limited. My daughter ordered a strawberry matcha, which we complained about because it was just milk. But the second one looked no different. When we asked for a straw, we were told we had to buy one. Honestly, considering the prices, especially for the drinks, I don't think that's justified. All in all, I really wouldn't recommend it.

Great atmosphere and a delicious buffet. We really enjoyed it. We were there on a Saturday evening and it was very busy, but the waiters were still incredibly fast and friendly. A reservation is a must, though. The food was top-notch, and despite the many occupied tables, there was rarely anything left over. When there was, it was quickly replenished (like the very tasty salmon, for example). The cocktails and drinks were also quickly replenished. Parking was full due to the restaurant's occupancy, but we easily found a spot in the industrial area next door.

I ate there with two friends. Reservations are highly recommended! We sat in a very quiet corner where we could easily chat. It took a little while for the drinks to arrive, but otherwise our waiter Tim was always very quick and cleared away the empty plates super fast! That's a big plus and not always the case with buffets. Our fried food also arrived very quickly! The buffet was always well-stocked and there was plenty of it. We had to wait a bit for the bill at the end, but otherwise it was really great! We'd gladly come back.

Unfortunately, we can't comment on the food, service, or atmosphere because we were informed by email just two hours before our appointment that our dog wasn't allowed. This is despite the fact that we had indicated this when booking the appointment about 10 days prior, and there's no mention of it on the website. Thankfully, there are other Asian restaurants in and around Krefeld where our four-legged friends are welcome.
