What we didn't like at all was that you have to pay extra for the straw with the Aperol (€0.50). The service also needs improvement.

Disappointing - no understanding at the children's birthday party My daughter celebrated her birthday at Restaurant Xiao and invited four friends. She had found out about the prices online in advance - it clearly states that the youth price of €14.99 applies up to and including 14 years. Three of the five girls were 14 or younger. Nevertheless, everyone was charged the full adult price. My daughter even brought this up herself, but the waiter was completely uninterested and didn't address it at all. I find this kind of behavior very disappointing - especially at a child's birthday party. No accommodation, no goodwill, no friendly interaction. We definitely won't be coming back.

We often and happily go to Xiao's... no matter whether Oberhausen, Essen or Krefeld, we were always satisfied everywhere, but today in Krefeld the service was unfortunately very bad... there were 4 of us there with our 3 year old grandson..... at the entrance we asked as always for a child's chair... here we were asked the first strange question, why a child's chair? Then the blonde waitress also asked the child how old he was... is he still okay? express and answered with 3 fingers and 3 years old. When we paid later, 6 euros were charged for the small child in the high chair on the grounds that in Krefeld children from 2 years old are charged despite being in a high chair. We have never experienced this in any Xiao branch. I usually always tip 10 euros, this time only the bill amount was paid..... I've never had such an arrogant waitress as this blonde lady. So it won't work with a tip.

The building is very modern and instagramable. The food does what it's supposed to do; Feeding the masses. For me that's nothing, but here you have the opportunity to get together with lots of friends or family in a good setting, even on public holidays. However, it is not a culinary experience, but a recommendation for get-togethers or all you can eat for a small thaler.

The entire restaurant is very clean, the food is very good and more varied than in most competitor restaurants. The staff is very nice and attentive but not intrusive at all. The building is a 10 out of 10! Located just outside of Krefeld but with a rural view and free parking. All You Can has different prices depending on the day of the week and time, so if you are flexible you can save here.

The buffet is extensive and always quickly refilled. The dishes are varied, everyone gets their money's worth here. Certainly not a specifically vegetarian restaurant, but there is a sufficient meat-free selection and the vegetables are crisp and fresh. The dining room is very large, but some tables are cramped. This is not pleasant when it is very crowded. It is highly recommended to stick to the times accurately. The cheaper lunch price is only valid until 4 p.m. But then you also have to pay. Unfortunately, we had an experience that wasn't very uplifting for us today. We were registered shortly after 3 p.m. and had long since finished eating by 4 p.m., but were still sitting and talking over drinks. When we wanted to pay around 4:30 p.m., we were amazed because we were charged the expensive evening price. Unfortunately, no one had pointed out to us that we would have had to pay by 4 p.m. in order to benefit from the cheaper lunch price. The waitress who served us was on break and both the new waitress and the receptionist just shrugged their shoulders and said the colleague should have pointed this out. A bit of goodwill and customer focus would have been very nice, because a total of €30 more just to sit for half an hour is a sporty thing. For example, we would have been very happy to receive half of this faux pas. A small concession. Unfortunately, this ultimately spoiled what was actually a relaxed and pleasant dining experience.

The atmosphere was much too loud for me personally and the place was much too big. And in my opinion, the serving cutlery was changed far too rarely given the number of people.

Quote WZ from February 24th: “Our quality is the buffet concept, we want to offer it consistently,” explains operations manager Patric Steinlechner, who himself lived in China for ten years. End of quote. First the positive: The service Nina Jean Norin was quick and friendly! There are plenty of parking spaces available. That's why one star! When it comes to the restaurant itself, you obviously have to be aware that you can't create a comfortable atmosphere in a factory hall like this and that in some places in the room the noise level can easily rival that of a train station. At least one can say that attempts were made to conceal this in some places. However, reasonable conversation was still not possible. Unfortunately, that was it for the positive impression. Although you can eat the things on offer and feel full, there is absolutely no culinary sophistication. Essentially you have the flavors "not spicy", "spicy", "undetermined", "weird" and "could be xxx". Even the sauces offered separately, such as sweet and sour sauce and peanut, can be distinguished more by their color than by their taste. Probably common canister goods from the wholesale market... When it came to the spring rolls, it was just plain frozen goods. And if there hadn't been a label with the name above each dish, in some cases I wouldn't have been able to tell what I was eating based on taste and texture. Especially since a lot of things were only available lukewarm in the displays. Unfortunately, the plates weren't preheated either, so the food was almost cold when we arrived. At least you don't burn your mouth... Pots of gummy bears at the buffet don't help either. I almost couldn't believe that such dishes were offered - that's why I tried a few untreated pieces of lettuce to check whether my taste buds were playing tricks on me - nope, everything was fine! Now I don't exactly expect a food revelation in a self-service all-youcaneat restaurant, but even compared to other restaurants like the Oriental Garden in St. Tönis, the Xiao comes up short. And in Düsseldorf there are a few small Chinese restaurants where you can get a real taste explosion for less money. For me and my wife the conclusion is: European-style Chinese food at fast food levels at overpriced prices. It was our first and last visit. I'd rather go to Düsseldorf or put the wok on the stove myself. By the way, when we billed you we didn't ask whether we liked it - that should give you something to think about...

We've eaten here a few times and generally the quality and selection of the food on offer is good. During our last visit to the restaurant we discovered that the pricing policy was rather questionable. A work colleague who only ordered a drink because he had to move on straight away was told that he would have to pay the full buffet price after he wanted to pay for his drink. He hadn't eaten anything from the buffet. This rule was not communicated to us in advance and there was no reference to it anywhere. Unfortunately, it gives the impression that guests are being pressured into paying additional costs without warning. A clearly visible notice in the entrance area, on the drinks menu and on the website, as well as clear communication of this regulation by the service employees before placing an order would be appropriate and not asking too much. Another negative thing is that used dishes remain on the tables for a long time, which was also the case on our last visits. In general, the service is not very attentive and you wait a long time for things like ordering drinks or when you want to pay.

We had been there during the week for the lunch buffet. Fair price and nice service. What I liked was that the food from the buffet was hot. That's not always the case. In itself a large selection with very different and varied dishes. However, many dishes were completely cold and some were already hard/dried out (such as some types of meat, noodles, fried rice). The drinks prices online aren't quite right and are a bit more expensive on site. Although there wasn't much going on at the beginning, it took a relatively long time until our drink order was taken. In addition, it sometimes took a very long time for the table to be cleared; the waitresses sometimes just looked at you and simply walked past you. At the grill we suddenly had ingredients on our plate that we didn't even give away (e.g. mushrooms even though they weren't given out for frying). The ambience of the location is nicely decorated and the music playing in the background underlines the relaxed and modern flair. When it gets really crowded, it is quite loud as the building echoes very quickly. We would definitely come back one day to take another look. Price-performance ok but there is definitely some room for improvement.

Unfortunately disappointed! We've been to Xiao in Krefeld several times with groups of 4 or 8 people each time and were (almost) always very satisfied. For this reason, we decided to celebrate a birthday there with 13 people. The online reservation worked perfectly. We could also enter "special requests." Since we're familiar with the space by now, we wanted to reserve a table near a window, if possible. However, we were assigned a table by the doorway to the restrooms. It wasn't one long table, but two tables with an approximately 1-meter-wide doorway between them. This effectively created two groups (5 people and 8 people) for the birthday party. It's a shame, we would have liked to sit together! Since the tables were lined up against a wall, some of the guests only faced a plain wall, while others sat on a kind of long corner bench, so everyone on that side always had to get up when someone wanted to go to the buffet. For this reason, the tables couldn't be placed together. The tables were set rather carelessly: some of the tables were missing cutlery rests, and the table decorations consisted of the drink menus. Our request for another table where we could sit together was very rudely rejected by the head waiter, who was apparently also responsible for reservations, because there were no other seats available. He showed no understanding of our desire to sit together. Conclusion: Despite the extensive and delicious buffet and the friendly waitress, we would not choose Xiao as a restaurant for a larger group again.

We were there for the lunch buffet and can only give a clear recommendation. The food is more than good in terms of price-performance, the service (Timo) is super friendly and hard-working is still an understatement!! I've rarely seen anyone try so hard. The only drawback in my opinion is guests who leave their small children, who are not even at eye level with the food on offer, at the buffet alone. But that's a fundamental problem with all "All..." offers, where you wonder what it's like at home for these people.

Basically a good restaurant but in Krefeld they don't offer Krefelder and I don't think it's really bad to be able to mix beer and cola together.

I have now visited the XIAO in Krefeld twice. The first time I wasn't quite as satisfied. It has to be said that it was shortly after the opening and everything was a bit virginal and chaotic. However, I was changed during my recent visit. Everything was perfect! The food was delicious, was consistently replenished and consistently made a fresh impression. The restaurant is also modern and clean. What was particularly positive was the attentive and friendly service. Drinks were hardly empty, so people were asked if they wanted something new and the table was constantly cleared. In addition, due to a birthday, there was a free drink and a champagne glass to toast with. All in all, a successful visit and good value for money. Highly recommended!

Now that I have given the fourth store a chance based on an invitation (Cologne, Gelsenkirchen, Wuppertal and now Krefeld) I still have to realize that the stores are simply overcrowded with people, the service is not up to par, neither in ordering drinks nor in cleaning the plates and the food is simply not worth the price. Even nice woks don't help, where the food is overcooked by the heat or there is simply no food in them. How can it happen that neither plates nor cutlery are not available. The same disaster in all 4 stores. Sorry, but I'm really out now.
