Very charming service, extremely good food at a moderate price, a huge parking lot, but it's still loud at the moment. The arrival is rustic to idiosyncratic, unfortunately there are also steps in the house.

The food was great, The Scottish salmon was perfect, the rest was also great. The dessert to kneel down on. Staff was very attentive and charming. The price is more than reasonable for the quality and taste. The location is brilliant with a parking lot opposite. The restaurant itself is visually very successful, quite chic, but not too classy. But it seems a bit unfinished. Unfortunately, there are no sound absorbers yet, so it was quite loud and conversation was tiring. This is a real drawback because it is loud. Everyone is trying to be loud enough with the conversation and it is getting louder and louder, you should do something about that. But all in all it was a great evening and the food was really great.

A great experience to eat in the forester's house. Visually very well furnished and of course this statement is in the eye of the beholder but you can definitely tell when the owners have put some thought into it. That is the case here and therefore full marks. The food was very good, from the greetings from the kitchen to the main meals and the desserts. The eye eats too, and the visual presentation of the food was also very beautiful. The service is friendly and attentive. However, it is also clear that the team has not been operating in a quasi-intuitive manner for many years. In my opinion, this team should be given the chance to grow together. Of course, special holidays in particular are always a challenge. I think you can speak to the staff at any time if something isn't right. A clear recommendation for me.

We were there for the first time after the renovation. The ambience is nice, the renovation was very worth it. We were disappointed with the food and the coffee. There is only fully automatic coffee, which tastes very mediocre. The promised rum raisins were missing from the Kaiserschmarren, the cherries apparently came straight from the jar, and the cream was thin spray cream. Very disappointing. The apple strudel wasn't really warm and tasted rather artificial. What could you make of this wonderful excursion restaurant? Unfortunately, it falls far short of its potential. Our service wasn't very friendly, sometimes very snippy.

A Valentine's dinner...what a nice opportunity to try out this newly interpreted gastronomy. With advance registration and dinner selection in advance, we were really looking forward to a special evening. A somewhat unwarm greeting - after standing helplessly in front of a seemingly stressed crew - heralded the start of the evening. After a little search on a guest list, they found us. A gentleman showed us a table by pointing his finger, turned around and disappeared again. Now, for the first time in this restaurant, we stood in the hall without a plan and didn't know what to do with our jackets. Well, you can orientate yourself... but a kind word or hint would have been a plus, especially on such a romantic themed evening. Unfortunately, due to far too long waiting times and other vaux pas, the evening was terribly drawn out and at some point only resulted in thoughts of escape... The drinks ordered at the beginning, a beer, a cremant (delicious) and a large bottle of water were to remain the only drinks. It's a shame, because we would certainly have consumed more. Unfortunately, you didn't often find anyone you could ask. Greetings from the kitchen were also good, but the dishes just stayed there the whole evening. Waiting time until the starter soup is then approx. 1 hour. Something wasn't going right. At two other tables next to us we could feel the same discontent that plagued us. The soup was tasty. The main course, which again took a long time to arrive, was also good (the portion would have been suitable for a senior citizen's plate, but we found the portions to be too small). It was another long dry spell until dessert: an iced cappuchino/cappuchino ice cream. Our impression was that the waitress was also very uncomfortable....The dessert was disproportionately large and could have been served much more, the ice cream was probably not made on the spot. So if you are lenient with a possible staff shortage? You don't know....., so you have to point out that with two Valentine's menus to choose from, various components such as starters and desserts are largely the same and were certainly prepared (otherwise you wouldn't have had to reveal your menu preference when registering) so unfortunately you have to criticize that you can't understand the waiting times. The live musical background was too loud (the musician was still good) and it was difficult to have a conversation with the other person. The atmosphere seemed modern, but unfortunately it wasn't as comfortable as expected. People had to lean towards each other for a dialogue. Some tables were sometimes too close together. Other couples had large tables to themselves. Unfortunately, an ultimately friendly farewell could no longer cast the first overall impression in a rosy light. As a guest, you don't want to feel stress or a lack of staff, you want to feel cared for and valued. We'll probably just have a menu "á la maison" again next Valentine's Day. Nevertheless, we might give it a second chance over coffee and cake in the summer. Maybe you take the criticism to heart and grow from it.

Yesterday on Valentine's Day I wanted to spend a cozy evening in the forester's lodge with my partner. Arriving there promptly at 6:30 p.m., we first stood in the anteroom as ordered and were not picked up, then we were briefly greeted. Despite a reservation with written confirmation about 3 weeks ago, there was apparently some confusion at first. We were then somewhat carelessly brought to the entrance of the hall by a gentleman and he pointed to a table from a distance. We had to find the wardrobe ourselves! The friendly waitress took the order after about 10 minutes… The drinks were brought after about 15 minutes and shortly afterwards the “greetings from the kitchen” came, but the following courses (thank God only 3 courses!) took about 2.5 hours! Our conclusion: Unfortunately, it wasn't a special evening in a romantic atmosphere for us; the musical accompaniment prevented us from singing because of the volume. The stay was apparently artificially prolonged and we would have liked to drink more, but unfortunately we were no longer spoken to after the first order. Overall, this restaurant seemed inexperienced, chaotic/planless or not organized! The dishes were okay so far, the sea bream was well prepared and tasteful, the ox cheeks were a bit carelessly prepared and something for the “hollow tooth”, but tasted good. Maybe we'll come back again in the spring and give it a second chance, hopefully positive!

We had reserved a table for Valentine's Day. When we arrived, a few couples had already been sent away before us because it was too full and more tables had been reserved than were available. We were then very rudely asked to leave. Of course, something like this shouldn't happen on a day like this.

We were warmly welcomed to the business lunch and looked after very hospitably throughout the evening. The location is beautifully decorated! A beautiful combination of old and new. The quality of the food (good German cuisine) was excellent! The prices are absolutely right!

I haven't been to the forester's lodge for probably 30 years and I was there today and was pleasantly surprised. The food was very tasty. I had a Gutsherr style schnitzel with fried egg and bacon and onions. There was also a mixed salad. For dessert I had Kaiserschmarrn. All in all it was very worth it!

Destroyed evening at Saint Valentine’s Day. We reserved a table at 19:30. Came 5 minutes before. There were 2 couples in front of us, both couples left after conversation with the waiter and manager. Then manager came to us and informed that the restaurant is overbooked, sorry, no table. So, guys, if you want to go there, never be sure your table is booked for real.

Unfortunately very disappointing - poor, slow staff - far too cramped seating. Despite making a reservation in good time, the table was given elsewhere. Drinks were brought to the table one at a time and not completely - the last drink came 45 minutes after ordering. The food was bland in taste. The cucumber salad was swimming in a tasteless sauce... In addition, the portion is far too small compared to the price. Absolutely not recommended. We won't be coming back!

A few days ago we were at the forester's lodge with a small group. The staff, the service and of course the food were all very good. A small downside, however, was the Kaiserschmarrn with raisins and powdered sugar. It came across a bit very dry, so it would be better to add applesauce. Otherwise the food was perfectly fine. We were surprised by the price-performance ratio, because the prices are absolutely reasonable. We have paid far more in many other restaurants for often less good food. We'll be back and want to try the large selection of cakes.

Yesterday we were in the converted forester's house in the forest forest for the first time. Absolutely fair prices for really decent portions. The veal schnitzel is highly recommended at €26.50. The service was also very attentive and friendly. We will definitely come back.

Was in the forester's lodge for the first time. The interior designer is definitely still in training. From my seat I looked directly through a wooden/glass door at the sign for the disabled toilet....is that how they do it today?!🙈 and the staff....I don't think they're an expert....still very expandable. More wanted than able. The atmosphere was a complete mess. Sorry....couldn't find anything to rate it positively and not stay there again

Went there today on the occasion of a birthday, despite reservations the tables weren't free yet (the guests who were still sitting there weren't enthusiastic about clearing the tables either), we only got the afternoon menu after asking, the service was overwhelmed, sometimes things were forgotten , cake was brought too much or incorrectly, coffee sometimes only came when the cake was already eaten... cakes, waffles etc. all very tasty, the atmosphere was really nice, but the service etc Something needs to be changed fundamentally so that people would come again as a guest

We really liked it here, the food was delicious, served quickly and hot ;). The dessert was also completely convincing. We'd love to come back.

Been back to the forester's lodge after a long time. A lot has developed for the better. Nice ambience, modern interior renovation, good team, sufficient selection on the menu, delicious food and a good drinks menu. Price/performance is right. A small note: You should reserve in advance, otherwise it will be difficult to get a free place... because it's good.👍

Visit after the renovation / Friday, January 24th, 25 for lunch: -Ceiling lighting not yet complete, therefore quite dark in the large room - quite loud with the many guests present and therefore uncomfortable - waiter friendly, but seemed stressed - 6 × fried fish with fries/ Ordered fried potatoes: was served with boiled potatoes after 30 minutes, fish was only lukewarm, fries were served a good 5 minutes later - complaint about the lukewarm fried fish and that lukewarm fried potatoes: they were simply reheated in the microwave, which meant that the remoulade that the guest had already spread on them melted, no longer looked appetizing and lost its taste - the cucumber salad had no taste, a sprig of dill on top seemed to be the only spice in the cream - as "Sorry" we could have wished for a drink at the end. However, we are left with the impression of a bad meal, of an overwhelmed kitchen staff with occupied tables, rather Uncomfortable atmosphere with a certainly committed waiter who rushed back and forth between the tables and could certainly have used another member of staff. Too bad!

Finally an alternative to the Nordbahnhof! Keep it up!

After the reopening it was a total failure. It smelled really bad when we came in. The ambience is not nice. Right at the entrance, guests were sitting at the tables and turning towards us. The ceiling was raw concrete, there was no light at the tables on the window side, the fixed benches were far too far away from the tables. The food was also negative. It wasn't hot for any of the four of us and all four portions were (in a positive way) very clear. In the Zurich Geschnetzeltes there were only 3 (!) and extremely small mini pieces of meat. Even a double portion would not have been enough. At home I first had to eat two slices of bread. The Altbier I ordered came in a bottle and I had to open the bottle myself and pour it. And all of this at the same price. Unfortunately, all four of us don't want to come back. We used to love going there, but that's over now. I can't recommend anyone to even try it out.

I had dinner there on Friday. It is a very nice restaurant and can only be recommended. In any case, you should try it out once to get your own impression.

We were looking forward to a delicious meal. Nevertheless, after an hour we couldn't even order our food because the waiter assigned to us didn't speak to us. In the end we left without our food and still had to deal with the complications of paying.

The food was very tasty. The service was very pleasant. Unfortunately we haven't finished the renovation yet but it's really comfortable.

A very successful reopening in a historic building. Very attentive team, extremely talented chef, lovely atmosphere. Wonderfully located. The outdoor terrace will continue to be renovated until summer. There will also be shelter options for riders. Highly recommended as an event location, especially for weddings and larger parties. P.S. The peacock birds have found a new home in the Eifel, where they can be cared for carefully.

We were there on Christmas Day for the Christmas buffet. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very nice, although not everything is ready yet. Overall the food was delicious. Unfortunately it was only lukewarm until 🥶 It was very complicated to pay with 3 couples because it was not possible to use different means of payment, which is really weak these days. Accordingly, our waiter put the bill on the table and we were allowed to calculate it ourselves (according to the boss, it seems to be possible. However, it's stupid if your employees don't know this on days like this). Boss is very nice and friendly and considerate of the guests. There is still a lot of room for improvement.

It's nice that the forester's lodge has reopened. Ate very well and the rooms were very well done. We are already looking forward to the next time.

Both meals (schnitzel and Königsberger Klopse) were very good! Service very friendly! The new furnishings are very tasteful, not quite finished yet. The entrance hall turned out impressively well! The only drawback: it's a bit cold, so it's better to take a sweater or cardigan with you until everything is ready. We'd love to come back, even if the only thing on tap so far is Pilsner 😉 😃

Just great! The decoration, the food and the service were top! I had a delicious duck leg and then a delicious piece of cake. I'll definitely be back. If you're in the area, you definitely have to stop by. The service is super attentive. You can also take vouchers with you as a gift for your loved ones.

Great evening with lots of delicious starters. Eating again today, unfortunately not the least bit convincing. Ordered 4 x starters, of which the anti pasti plate was still frozen and therefore inedible! The service/waiter also thought that the wording was insulting to us as guests, now you have 2 KG of BREAD with 4 starters (= 2 x min. main courses from the price sector)!, there were 10 slices of bread that simply belonged to it per se Every single appetizer belonged (by the way, 2 slices were eaten), a more arrogance of a cellar is almost impossible, welcome to the shortage of skilled workers, well the next fixed booking / reservation is first canceled until the CEO “runs” his great restaurant again!

Small and varied changing menu. Seasonal cuisine and ingredients. Staff always friendly and helpful. Homemade pies and cakes. Outdoor dining is very pleasant, especially in the warm season. The peacocks run around freely there and our dogs are always very fascinated. Restaurant extremely dog ​​friendly. The forester's house has its own character and hopefully it will stay that way due to the monument protection.

The food was good, I can recommend it 👍 Unfortunately the ambience wasn't the same. Some things could be renewed. Very wobbly chairs and the carpet very worn and dirty. Unfortunately, the parking lot is an absolute disaster and consists almost entirely of potholes. In bad weather, rubber boots are recommended.

Wir zu Kaffee und Kuchen essen dort. Sehr gemütlich, gute Kuchenauswahl. Sehr aufmerksame Bedienung. Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen.

Leckeres Essen und aufmerksamer Kellner

Dieses Restaurant ist mit Abstand das Highlight vom Forstwald. Ein idyllisches Restaurant mit wunderschöner Terrasse und Garten, zwei tollen Innenbereichen und einem Biergarten. Die Speisen die es von 11:30 bis 19:30 gibt sind frisch in der Küche zubereitet und schmecken köstlich. Die Speisekarte und die Getränkekarte verfügt über alles was das Herz begehrt. Kaffee und Kuchen gibt es auch im Forsthaus. Die Kellner sind ebenfalls super freundlich und machen ihre Arbeit toll, es herrscht ein familiäres Verhältnis. Auch für größere Feiern ist das Forsthaus ideal, denn ab einer Personengruppe von zwanzig Personen kann man sich einen der zwei Räume für die gewollte Uhrzeit mieten. Speisen gibt es entweder per Speisekarte oder als Buffet. Ich kann das Forsthaus jedem nur ans Herz.

Schade. War mal ein tolles Restaurant. Die Speisen sind enorm geschrumpft. Die Preiserhöhung beträgt teilweise 25 Prozent und die Qualität hat enorm nachgelassen. Waren immer mit 6 Personen da. Das hat sich erledigt. Wir kaufen hier noch Kuchen und dann ab nach Hause. Das war's.

Wir waren heute spazieren und hatten unheimlich großen Hunger auf Kuchen. Also das Kuchenangebot ist super. Man kann auch Kuchen mitnehmen und muss ihn nicht dort verzehren. Wir haben zwei Stücke Mamorkuchen genommen (sind sehr gut auf der Hand zu essen) allerdings hatten wir nicht mit soooo großen Stücken gerechnet. Preis Leistung "top"; Freundlichkeit "top"; und Ambiente ebenfalls "top". Wir haben nicht gegessen, deshalb kann ich dazu nicht viel sagen, aber es gibt Flammkuchen- und Pfandkuchenvariationen. Ich glaube auch einige davon vegetarisch. Wir kommen auf alle Fälle wieder. Ich hoffe, alle die dies lesen, probieren auch mal.

Sehr nette Bedienung. Es werden verschiedene Gerichte aus deutscher Küche angeboten, die hübsch serviert werden. Man kann im Restaurant essen oder draußen im Garten bei Pfauenbegleitung am Rotwildgehege.

Personal/Inhaber des Lokals sehr engagiert. Die Auswahl der Speisen trifft einen breiten Geschmack ohne verwirrende Vielfalt.

Schön im Wildpark- Wald gelegen. Die Idee des Ziegenkäse und Mango Burgers ist gut. Die umsetzung leider nicht. Bitte nochmal am Rezept arbeiten. Traditionelle Kuchen uä ist sehr gut. Dafür kommen wir wieder.

Wir haben auf der Terrasse Kaffee getrunken. Beeindruckender Sequoibaum, sehr nervige und laute Pfauen, dir dort frei herumliefen.

Eigentlich ein schönes Restaurant, auf jeden Fall im Außenbereich, mit Blick auf das Wildgehege und die umher spazierenden Pfaue. Im Innenbereich bedarf es einer dringenden Aufarbeitung bezüglich der Deko. Da wir an einem sehr heißen Tag dort waren ,war es dort sehr stickig. Draußen konnten wir wegen Regen leider nicht sein. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich.

All you can Eat Büfett gibt's nicht mehr, aber dafür genug andere leckerer Speisen! Werde gerne wiederkommen, ist definitiv eine Empfehlung wehrt. ❣️

Wir waren des Öfteren in diesem Restaurant, da es sich immer sehr gut mit einem Besuch im Kurpfalzpark verbinden lässt. Die Speisenauswahl und -qualität war auch immer in Ordnung, sodass wir uns beim letzten Besuch wieder auf den Aufenthalt gefreut hatten. Die vielen leeren Tische sind uns im ersten Moment gar nicht aufgefallen, geschockt waren wir aber beim Blick auf die Speisekarte. Lediglich die üblichen Pfälzer Gerichte wie Bratwurst, Leberknödel und Saumagen standen darauf, alle anderen Seiten waren entfernt worden. Unsere ungläubigen Blicke bemerkend, informierten und die Bedienungen, dass "der Chef" die Karte zusammengestrichen hat und wir nicht die ersten seien, die das Lokal wieder verlassen würden. Dies taten wir auch prompt. Es ist völlig unverständlich, wie man bei dieser Location, bei der täglich hunderte Menschen vorbeikommen, im Hochsommer kein attraktives Speisenangebot bewerkstelligen kann. Wer will denn mit Kindern und bei fast 40 Grad Leberknödel und Sauerkraut essen? Die leeren Tische (bei sehr gut besuchtem Park nebenan) sprechen eine klare Sprache.

Located right next door to the Kurpfalz-Park, this former hunter's lodge is where visitors to the Kurpfalz-Park go if they want more than Bratwurst and Currywurst. The service is friendly and prompt, and the menu consists of local fare from the Pfalz. Guests can choose to dine indoors, or outdoors if the weather permits. Our family of 4 ordered Schnitzel, sausages and "Saumagen" - the sausages were delicious, but the "Saumagen" was rather dry and the potatoes within contribute little to the overall flavour and texture. It appears that most of the restaurant's guests are park visitors (only those who don't bring their own food) and day-hikers passing through the area. Could that be the reason for the lack of effort in making the menu and dishes more interesting and appealing in the first place?

Wir waren am Feiertag mit 5Kindern in Kurpfalzpark. Für den Mittag hatten wir einen Tisch im Forsthaus reserviert. Tisch war frei, Bestellungen wurden zügig aufgenommen und der Service war sehr freundlich. Soweit das positive. Die Karte ist relativ langweilig, das Essen ebenso. Meine Frau und ich hatten Rumpsteak, was von der Größe her schon übersichtlich war, der Garpunkt war getroffen, geschmeckt hat es allerdings nach nix. Da konnten auch die paar Sossenzwiebel nix dran ändern. Der Beilagensalat war Ok. Was gibt es als Dessert? Eis Bitte eine HP mit Speisekarte einrichten, wenigstens ein PDF auf FB. Auch die Öffnungszeiten am Feiertag waren nicht zu finden. Das Essen nicht so lieblos machen und präsentieren. Hat uns nicht so gut gefallen, ebenso nicht das lieblose Ambiente. An der Location lässt sich deutlich mehr raus holen.

Direkt am Kurpfalz Park gelegen, Kostengünstig und Sauber gepflegtes Restaurant mit freundlichem hilfsbereitem Personal

O restaurante já é tradicional, não é novo por aqui, e se situa bem na entrada do parque Kurpfalz. O dia estava chuvoso e não havia ninguém frequentando o restaurante neste dia. Talvez por isso a experência pouco prazerosa. Já comi aqui antes e sempre foi muito bom. Desta vez ficou devendo e vou avaliar pela experiência mais recente. Pedimos uma sopa de bolinhos de fígado que se saiu bem. Como prato principal pedimos o javali e foram os pratos silvestres que me fizeram escolher o restaurante para o almoço. A carne de veado estava em falta. O prato veio rápido, o "cozinheiro" não precisou se esforçar muito para atender à apenas dois clientes. Ficou claro que estava tudo pronto no congelador e ficou mal aquecido. Os bolos de batata (Knödel) ainda estavam frios por dentro e o repolho roxo estava cozido demais. O cardápio ainda oferece um leque grande de pratos típicos alemães. O ambiente é grande, estava limpo, é silencioso e não posso me queixar de nada mas a comida não foi o que eu esperava. Numa situação de mais movimento acredito que isso não tivesse ocorrido. Acredito realmente que a cozinha deu azar.
