Conclusion: Great ambiance and friendly service, but the food still has a lot of room for improvement. We recently went there for dinner and sat outside – we found the ambiance to be really nice and cozy. The service was also friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the food didn't impress us: rather bland and underseasoned (especially the beetroot salad); we would have expected more flavor, especially given the slightly higher prices. The restrooms were okay, but didn't seem very well-maintained, and the faucet in the women's restroom didn't work. We could pay in cash or with a debit card.

We were there yesterday with seven people. The food was absolutely delicious, from the appetizer to the dessert. The friendly waitress left nothing to be desired. Another plus point is the padded outdoor chairs; we sat very comfortably under the awning in the perfect weather. All in all, it was a wonderful evening. You have to be prepared for a bit of a wait. We had to wait about 20 minutes for the main course. There was a small, very simple salad. But we really enjoyed this one. The bread that came with it was also very tasty and nice and warm. When the food came we were initially surprised at the size of the portion. But we almost didn't manage to finish eating. Everything was no problem. Drinks and salad came very quickly. If we are on holiday in Hamburg again we will come back straight away. We paid just over 50 euros for an amazing meal. Highly recommended. The store is quite small but you still had your own space. And despite the construction site right in front of the street, the store was well stocked.

We've been to Xenios again for a very long time and really enjoyed Valentine's Day .. without children 😉 a lot has changed in terms of the decor and it's not the overloaded plate like other Greeks you know .. it's just arranged differently and not as powerful as everywhere else .. the quality was absolutely amazing .. I've never had such a mega crispy gyros before .. the fries alone were amazing .. Super crispy / hot and great seasoned .. for starters there was tarama with fresh hot bread and octupus salad .. simply great .. for dessert we had lokumade's small hot yeast balls with ice cream .. we were completely satisfied and will come back .. 100 points .. 👍

My mother wanted to do something good for me and had reserved a table outside for 2 p.m. The hospitality was hard to beat. My daughter (1 year old) was treated like the family's own child. Again, not pushy! Limits were maintained by the staff without me having to point them out. It was just a really great time there! As a starter we had the homemade tzatziki and fresh bread, which had been wrapped hot in a cloth napkin. Insanely delicious! My daughter couldn't get enough of it. For the main course, my mother had the grilled baby calamari, I had the turkey with mushrooms, peppers in cream sauce with croquettes. Excellent! My daughter was given a robber plate so that she could eat some of my portion. Everything was wonderful there too, the turkey was just as seasoned as my grandma's. Drinks were of course also great. Important to know for dry alcoholics and pregnant women: Krombacher 0.0% is available here as a non-alcoholic beer. You have to be a little careful with the menu because many dishes are advertised with alcohol in the sauce, but that can also be adjusted. The owner was able to fulfill our culinary wishes and everything was wonderful! Always my pleasure!

Ich habe vorhin über Lieferando einen Xenios-Teller im Wert von 26,00 € bestellt, mit Lieferkosten kam ich auf ca. 28 €. Geliefert wurden "10 kleine Stücke" Gyros mit Zwiebeln drauf, die Hälfte der Bestellung waren nur Pommes, eine Leber nach Schuhsohlen Art zubereitet, ein Brustfilet, Schweinesouvlaki, ein "Hacksteak" welches nach industrieller "fertig Frikadelle" geschmeckt hat. Salat gab es leider keinen. (Gott sei Dank?) Das Essen wurde erst knapp über einer Stunde geliefert und war nur lauwarm. Ich esse wirklich sehr gerne griechisch, aber dieser Laden ist das Allerletzte. Gefühlt gebe ich nie Bewertungen ab, dieses Mal fühle ich mich dazu verpflichtet. Schade, dass ich kein Bild gemacht habe. Wer mir nicht glaubt kann gerne selbst mal bestellen und sich so ab-scammen lassen.

XENIOS - THE HOSPITAL The name really says it all here! Our visit to the Xenios restaurant was a thoroughly successful evening. As soon as we entered we were warmly welcomed and the atmosphere immediately conveyed a feeling of Greek hospitality. You could find many traditional dishes on the menu and were spoiled for choice. The food was an absolute highlight: authentic, fresh and prepared with a lot of love. From the starter to the dessert, every course was a delight and brought back holiday feelings. The service was exceptionally friendly and attentive without being intrusive. We felt completely comfortable and welcome throughout the entire evening. Conclusion: If you are looking for authentic Greek cuisine in a warm, hospitable atmosphere, Xenios is the right place for you. It's a shame that we don't live in Hamburg, because then Xenios would be our regular restaurant. But the next time we travel to Hamburg, we will definitely come back. Thanks for the lovely evening!

Waiter impersonal, portions too small, payment only in cash. There was no feta in the bifteki, but something else. Unfortunately the beer line wasn't clean either.

We had dinner with you on Christmas Day, luckily we had a reservation. You could tell the team was under a lot of stress as it was very full. But everyone was still very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and so was the ouzo 😉 See you soon.

Ordered two gyros dishes today via Lieferando, plus extra bread and a cola. Delivery took place within the specified time frame, but neither bread nor cola was included. The portions of the gyros were aimed more at children and were almost cold. Fries, on the other hand, were completely cold and rock hard. One of the two dishes was missing the sauce specified in the description. It's a shame, because the gyros and the tzatziki were very tasty.

We were at Xenios today for the first and certainly not the last time and were given such friendly advice and service. So I ate the tender liver with sage butter on fresh mashed potatoes, delicious! The rest of the family had the Xenios plate and gyros with fries and were also very satisfied. A nice start to the weekend, thank you very much!!!

The food is completely fine. Unfortunately it's not the service! My request for the bill was followed by nothing for almost 30 minutes and after the third request someone came and wanted to discuss with me whether and how often I asked for the bill. In the end I was finally allowed to pay and left the restaurant upset. Too bad! In times of high prices, I want not only good food but also service that matches the prices in a restaurant. That is not the case here and therefore I cannot recommend this restaurant.

So the evening actually started quite well... It really could have stayed that way, unfortunately that wasn't the case...): . Had a small salad. Nothing special in terms of taste, but it was nice. Unfortunately, bowls were there until the end (until we paid). Generally not bad, but the table was extremely small, so it was a bit annoying. Main courses (Bifteki & Gyros with Metaxa sauce). Bifteki was well cooked, well seasoned and you could clearly find the cheese (; . Unfortunately the rice we ordered didn't come, but instead we got fries. Didn't say anything. It was ok. I'm disappointed with the gyros. It looked nice in the bowl, but... Cutting was impractical. Unfortunately, the pieces were large and often stuck together. The portions felt very tough. The sauce was too mushy and tasted bland .2l is far too little and too expensive. Service staff had a lot to do. At times we barely made any progress. Too many tables? I generally find it too narrow and crowded. Which is a real shame because the interior is really something. So you can only enjoy it to a limited extent. The evening was still quite nice. We chose Xenios for my niece's communion and it was a complete success. This restaurant stands out from the usual Greek establishments and offers a stylish and welcoming atmosphere. Wir waren seit längerer Zeit mal wieder dort und wurden leider enttäuscht. Sehr lange Wartezeit bis man endlich Getränke bestellen konnte (13 Minuten). Die bestellten Speisen kamen auch mit erheblicher Verzögerung und waren dann leider nur lauwarm - was bei einem Auflauf und einem Spiessgericht sehr ungewöhnlich ist. Offensichtlich war die Küche überfordert - geschmacklich war es ok, aber nicht mehr! Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich aber insgesamt hat uns unser Besuch in diesem Restaurant nicht besonders gefallen. Sehr schade, weil es vor einiger Zeit wirklich spitze war.

This has been our favorite Greek place for about 21 years. My husband used to live around the corner when he was still working in Hamburg. Now we still come back as tourists. We have great memories of Xenios with lots of ouzo, 1 rose from the senior and 1 small bottle of wine when paying and lots of fun with other guests. It's a little different now, but still super tasty food, a slightly fresher atmosphere and very nice service. We'll be back tomorrow and I'm looking forward to my gyros feta, which apparently only comes from Xenios! 😊

We were there on Sunday, May 19th. there and are absolutely thrilled. Great food in a very special variety. There are classic Greek dishes and a diverse daily menu with really special dishes - starters and main courses . A very, very big compliment to the kitchen team and the very hard-working and friendly service team.

Nun ja, wir waren mal wieder da, weil wir Xenios als großartiges griechisches Restaurant in Erinnerung hatten. Und dann die Website, ich zitiere: "In unserer Taverne gibt es nicht nur köstliches griechisches Essen sondern auch eine echt griechische Atmosphäre. Lassen Sie sich dazu vom herzlichen und fürsorglichen Service unserer Mitarbeiter begeistern. Genießen Sie ein Stück Griechenland. Wir laden Sie herzlich zu uns ein." Das ist wohl eher irgendwo abgeschrieben. Jedenfalls wurden meine Erwartungen an die Herzlichkeit der Bedienung bei weitem nicht erfüllt. Eher eine Massenabfertigung - Bedienung gelangweilt und wortkarg. Beim Bezahlen haben wir 10 Minuten warten müssen, bis jemand sich mal zu uns bequemte - und es war nicht voll. Das Essen war von der Qualität gut, ab vieeel zu teuer. Achtung: Die Speisekarte auf der Homepage ist veraltet; die Preise wurden nochmals erhöht. Eine Zatziki kostet nicht 5,40 Euro sondern 5,90 Euro. Eine Getränkekarte wurde nicht gereicht, wohl weil sie auch veraltet ist (s.Einträge vorher). Die Xeniosplatte als günstigster Mixgrillteller schlägt mit 24,40 zu Buche. Vorspeisenplatte um die 20 Euro. Liebe Inhaber, Ihr habt nicht bedacht, dass man für einen hohen Preis auch sehr gute Leistungen bringen muss. Wir, 5 Freunde aus Hamburg, kommen nicht wieder.

Seit 20 Jahren sind wir Gäste bei Themi. Das ist jetzt leider vorbei. Nicht nur, dass das Fleisch eine furchtbare Qualität hatte, beim bezahlen wurde uns eine Flasche Wein, die mit 23€ in der Karte stand, für 30€ berechnet. Auf Nachfrage wurde uns dann gesagt, dass die Getränkekarte alt sei und es eine neueren mit höheren Preisen gäbe. Wir sollten bitte den höheren Preis bezahlen. Das Schmierentheater wurde vom Chef persönlich durchgezogen. Erst nach massivem Protest, haben wir den Preis gezahlt, der in der Karte stand. Sowas braucht man wirklich nicht. Vor allem die schreckliche Arroganz dahinter war besonders erschreckend!

I was at my favorite Greek restaurant on Easter Sunday and I'm very happy with the service and the great service, you feel good and everything goes well together, I'm always happy to visit again.

Während die Osterfeuer brennen feierten wir mit unserer Familie eine griechische Osternacht. Die Küche wird unvergessen bleiben: Zutaten, Gewürze, Zubereitung setzt hinter manches deutsche Missverständnis einen Schlusspunkt. Beim Griechen besticht nicht der höchste Pommesberg, sondern die Qualität. Bratkartoffeln, natürlich mit Olivenöl, Lamm, natürlich medium, Hirtensalat, natürlich gut gemischt. Die Speisekarte ist eine Reise in die gehobene griechische Küche, die zum Glück in Deutschland heimisch werden konnte. Wir saßen mit sieben Erwachsenen im Wintergarten und wurden bedient wie die Götter auf Reisen, frohe Ostern.
