It was a very nice evening. Everything went perfectly – the food and drinks were excellent. The service was very friendly, and even though there were a lot of people there, we had a good conversation.

Typically Greek, warm, and with real Greek owners – you immediately feel like you're on vacation here. The food is authentic, the meat incredibly flavorful, and almost indistinguishable from the original in Greece. We've tried many Greek restaurants in Hamburg, but none come close – it remains our favorite! Special requests? They're always fulfilled here – and we have quite a few. We especially like sitting in the winter garden/terrace. One small disappointment: The delicious chips have unfortunately been removed from the menu – which makes us a little sad. Perhaps there's hope that they'll return one day? We would be delighted! And if we could express one more wish, it would be a fresh, Mediterranean lachanosalata, something we miss so much here in Germany. It's a shame we couldn't get it right here in Eidelstedt, because they're sorely missing a great Greek restaurant there!!!

Simply outstanding! The food was fantastic and the service was particularly friendly. We had to wait about 15 minutes for our food. Our meals were immediately served, and the restaurant's decor was simply wonderful. The only problem was finding a parking space, but this has nothing to do with the restaurant and therefore doesn't count towards the star rating.

The food is truly delicious. You can even choose just one or two starters instead of a main course. When we order lamb fillet, it's always grilled exactly how we like it (pink inside). The service is attentive and very friendly. Our little dog is even given a bowl of water (no ouzo). We go there often and feel at home.

Well, this isn't the first time I've been here at the Kronos restaurant in Schnelsen, but why do people immediately tell me that I'm single and that I'm not really welcome? There are always extremely bad tables, for example right next to the entrance! Or somewhere where it's particularly tight and all the waiters have to get through? Today the plate was cold and the food was only lukewarm! Then I wanted to order another drink and was ignored for 25 minutes! Yes, sorry then not and there is no tip for this bad service! Yes, it's a shame this was my last visit here!

In my opinion, too big, too loud, will not become our new Greek.

After more than three years, my husband and I visited the Taverna Kronos in Eidelstedt again, as we don't necessarily live “around the corner” and we used to really like this Greek restaurant. We noticed relatively quickly that a lot has changed since then and that the restaurant appears to have been extensively renovated. In the past, we were happy to be offered a table for three or four people, even without prior reservation, because we were almost always there, including this time shortly after the restaurant opened in the afternoon, and starters, salads and drinks needed a little more space... This time, however, we were immediately assigned a small table for two in the entrance area of ​​the restaurant, on the grounds that the restaurant was fully booked (5:30 p.m.???). When we left the restaurant shortly after 7 p.m., we were very surprised to see that the middle and back parts of the restaurant had a number of empty tables. The small 2-person table was actually a logistical challenge for us during the meal. Even finding the space for the bottle of wine and two glasses on the table was difficult, but when bread, the side salads and the two starters arrived at the same time, the space available was exhausted and we had to improvise: Luckily there was a narrow ledge on the adjacent column that was now able to accommodate bread and wine... So consume salads and starters quickly, because the main courses only followed a little later... in the end we just felt hectic and we weren't offered a larger table at that point. The tasks of the numerous staff present were clearly assigned - “everyone does their own”. The person in charge who served us in the evening and who had been there earlier was very, very nice, maybe even too nice... but I don't want to make a final assessment of that. Unfortunately, the menu at Taverna Kronos has changed drastically, so many dishes that we used to enjoy have disappeared without replacement ☹. But I don't just want to complain that "everything used to be better", but rather show a conclusion of our visit: The wine was well chilled and tasty, as was the ouzo as a welcome drink - the garlic cream for the starter was good but very little and the bread that was served with it was clearly too much - the main courses were delicious - but the portion size was also manageable, overall price-performance ratio: no longer (!!!) really appropriate. In the end we paid and would have liked to have asked for another ouzo - as is usual in many other Greek restaurants - but unfortunately nothing came. Our conclusion is that we left the restaurant disappointed and, given what we experienced, we will not become regular guests again. We still enjoy eating Greek, but now we're eating somewhere else...

Very friendly staff and a nice outdoor area. Unfortunately the food can't keep up. Very large portions, but the quality is just not right. Been there a few times but never really satisfied. After a very long break (due to Corona) I dared to do it again today. A single disappointment! The Stifado was simply bad in taste. The meat is a complete disgrace. Normally the beef should be tender and crumbly. This meat was gristly and tough. I also know the Bifteki better. Just a meatball. No sheep's cheese, very over-seasoned. There are much better Greeks within a five kilometer radius! Addendum 2025: In the meantime, we have given the restaurant another two or three chances. However, without Stifado. The food was really okay, the service was very attentive. The price is rather at the upper end for a Greek, but all the restaurants have raised their prices significantly. So now four stars.

Requested quite spontaneously and still got a place. Food was good as always. Unfortunately, the group smoked inside in the back area at a later hour (individuals), which was unpleasant. But otherwise very satisfied and gladly again.

I've just come back from a spontaneous visit and I'm just happy. Nino, a very nice young man who greeted us very friendly and looked after us. The salad first and foremost was fresh and pleasantly surprisingly varied with a dressing that I could have drunk straight. Then the main course is “surf & turf”. What can I say... the baby squid were absolutely AWESOME. Thank you for the lovely and delicious evening, thanks again to Nino and get well soon to Emil. I'm already looking forward to my next visit with you!

Been there for the first time. Forgot the salad before the main course, cold fries for the main course. Was then renewed. Giros were over-seasoned and the devil's pan had too much glutamate flavor. But everyone has their own taste.

The saganaki – baked to a perfect golden brown – also impressed us very much. This sesame in combination with the honey is a dream. Plus a cozy atmosphere and friendly service that made us feel really welcome. There’s definitely a Greek holiday feeling here! We would love to come back and can only recommend the restaurant. 🍽️🇬🇷✨

We were with you for the first time on December 29th, 2024 and were absolutely thrilled. I have never eaten such a good gyro, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Simply super good, the minced steak was also tender and super tasty. The fries are unbeatable, simply great. We also had smaller starters which were all delicious. Addition............!! 16.Oct.24 The ambience has improved a lot.....and the food is also prepared with more love.....everything has improved by 100% and is still very tasty👍 We'd love to come back. On November 1st we were offered a small table, which we didn't want.....since we hadn't made a reservation, we left. Even though we were there very early at 5 p.m. and just wanted to eat something quick, 100 km for free... something like that It's a shame... without a reservation it's impossible to get a nice seat.

The best Greek restaurant ever! We love it!

The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere and we were warmly welcomed. The house beer is highly recommended. However, I have to say about the food that the gyro was unseasoned and unfortunately didn't taste good as it only tasted like pork and roasted aromas. When the service force asked what the food was like, I replied, "It tastes like it's not seasoned." The service force only replied that they sell 90kg a week and that can't be the case. At a price of €16.50 for a gyro plate (which the menu says is nicely seasoned, but it isn't) I expect a little more. If you can't handle a negative answer to a question like this and you don't respond to it, you shouldn't ask such a question because it comes across as very rhetorical.

Non-carbonated Cola, the house beer tastes like a stale non-carbonated beer that is also much too warm. The starters were really delicious but unfortunately that was it. The gyro is completely tasteless and just tasted like fat, the fries that were on the plate were just as unseasoned as the meat. No trace of any spices or anything that could have made the dishes tasty. Not even the onions could save the meat, which was cut way too thick... We let the food go back and so our appetite was gone. The service was not particularly insightful and there was only a “can happen” as the reason for the complaint But what do you expect from a service that leaves someone sitting at the table with empty glasses for more than ten minutes. Not even when we put the empty glasses on the edge of the table did anyone think to ask if we would like to order something else to drink. We would advise against a visit as there are really better (and above all cheaper) ways to enjoy Greek food that is properly seasoned and also tastes good! Another little tip for the operators… Please keep your ouzo cold!

Visiting Hamburg again and then the craving for Greek food arose. The Kronos was nearby and we tried our luck to get a spot for two. We were warmly welcomed and were lucky to get a table. Thanks to the ambience and the staff, you immediately feel at home and the food is of impeccable quality. The plates are well filled and it just tastes good. We had to go there a second time during our Hamburg vacation and were not disappointed again ☺️ The restaurant is highly recommended and is now on our must-to-go list when we are in Hamburg again.

I ordered Giros, which was too greasy, not enough cross and too cold for me. The bread was also a bit hard and dry. The beer I ordered with just a little sprite was more like normal Alster water and was a bit stale. The Uso wasn't that good either and there was only one of them. Prices a little higher than elsewhere. Atmosphere was good and service was friendly. Won't eat there again.

We were at Kronos today because our regular Greek in Rellingen is on vacation. That's why we went there without making a reservation. It was terrible, to say the least. The beer garden was completely filthy. There were cobwebs everywhere and there was even bird droppings on the long bench. It wasn't comfortable! At some point a waiter finally came. He wanted to eat and drink immediately... why? We actually wanted to eat all the gyros, but unfortunately there were no more gyros at 7 p.m. 🙈. Then unfortunately we had to switch to pork medallions in Metaxa and Bifteki. No sooner said than done. The food came quickly along with the drinks. As I already wrote, I ordered pork medallions in Metaxa sauce. When the waiter brought the food with his thumb in my food, I lost my appetite. No medallions were delivered, only pork fillets on Metaxa sauce. The plate was carelessly sprinkled with some salad. We started eating and all looked into each other's eyes...it was served lukewarm. The food was cold! That finished us off! We will never visit this Greek restaurant again, it's a shame with a little more Greek passion you could really conjure up something great from this restaurant, as the location is good. PS: the ouzo wasn't cold

We were there with 5 people for our birthday. The greeting was okay, the food was good, but our children all had severe cramps afterwards. Ouzo only gets selected customers and refills are only felt by regular customers. So through and through there are friendlier restaurants with good food Thanks.....

Should be a great birthday, well it should. We felt like second class guests because we weren't regulars. It started with the greeting and continued throughout the entire evening. We only received bread upon request, one of the starter salads had a hair on the plate. It took over half an hour before we could even order food. Drinks were empty, but no one asked if we wanted anything else. Here too we had to ask. The food was okay, but I don't understand why there was half an onion on the children's plate.

We spontaneously went to the tavern for dinner after the European Championship game. We received a very friendly welcome with smiling faces. We had the choice of whether we wanted to watch the 6 p.m. football game in the winter garden or go to the restaurant without a television. The starters with soup and three different creams came to the table quickly and were really tasty. The drinks were served with glasses to accompany the bottles. Ice cubes and fresh lemon were also available if you liked. The service was fun and friendly. First there was a small salad. Our son wanted to get the recipe for the dressing. When it comes to the main courses, the tavern really means it. Delicious tzatziki, gyros baked in a cast iron pan, meat superbly prepared and a very well-intentioned portion on the plate. The ouzo and children's ouzo were also there. We will definitely come back. Clear recommendation from the 4 of us 😊

Foreword: The operator took action against my rating (and other bad reviews). The operator comment was deleted (see addendum, below, this served as a further counter-statement) and I received an email from Google with an attachment from their legal representative. I and probably other guests with bad experiences were assumed to have never been a customer there and were asked to delete the review and given a 7 day deadline to do so. I was able to meet this deadline and sent the receipt. This scam is a complete impudence to embellish the reviews and specifically cover up bad experiences. Plenty of negative reviews have disappeared, including one in which meat was included in a vegan dish. This was confirmed and apologized in the operator comment, the operator comment was subsequently deleted and the negative review a few days later. For a restaurant that boasts a wealth of experience, this is a disgrace. The experience goes far beyond running a restaurant. For me, something like this is cheating on (future) customers! After a visit on July 1st. I subsequently suffered from food poisoning. I had an important appointment on July 2nd. in Cologne can be canceled at short notice. My buddy complained about a “bloated” stomach for several hours. Unfortunately, the service was very bad, or simply overwhelmed because the store was full. After contacting the restaurant, I was told how clean and accurate the work was and that spoiled meat would certainly have caused the same reaction in many others. The fact that it could have been due to other ingredients is not even considered here. To smooth things over, I was offered a €25 voucher, which I of course declined because, understandably, I certainly wouldn't want to eat there again. A refund of the partial amount was not considered here. If you are looking for a Greek where there is no mass processing, you have definitely come to the wrong place. Here you should simply eat and quickly clear the table for the next guests. Unfortunately you have to give one star, even that is too many! Addendum: To suggest that my reports, which everyone can share here, are calculating is quite a statement. Anyone is welcome to look at them. I don't know how to determine that I want to "enrich" myself. Maybe you've noticed, if you've read carefully, that this is the first one on the topic of food poisoning. We actually came here spontaneously on May 22nd, 2024. We come from Celle and went shopping in Hamburg. Unfortunately we got very wet and looked accordingly. We were still welcomed very warmly and were allowed to choose a table. For starters we had the Taramas and I had the sesame saganaki with honey. Both were very tasty and different from other Greek restaurants. There was also a delicious side salad. My husband had the Gigas plate and I had the Orpheas plate. Both with (if we weren't mistaken) very tasty home-made fries. The souvlaki was very well pickled or marinated and had a great taste of its own. The gyro was also very seasoned. All in all, it was a feast. We have finally found a restaurant where we would like to go again when we are in Hamburg. Price/performance is really more than great. We are excited.
