Wolfsschlucht in Ansbach

Wir lieben die vielfältigkeit der Speisen. Gerade im Urlaub die Fränkische Küche genießen. Super Auswahl und zivile Preise. Es hat uns hier super gefallen.

Salat war gut. Das ist aber auch schon das einzig positive. Cordon Bleu mit Fettrand ( wie in der Karte beschrieben )ist untertrieben. Durch und durch durchwachsen und sehr fettig, Schweinefilet mit Champignonsauce geschmacklich schwierig, Sauce sehr sulzig, merkwürdige Konsistenz. Riesen Portionen, nützt aber nicht, wenn es nicht schmeckt. Keine Kindergerichte, haben dann ein kleines Schnitzel für unseren 6- jährigen bestellt, kam bei 11 essen am Tisch leider als letztes. Bedienungen sehr hektisch und überfordert, 2. Ladung Getränke wurden von uns dann selbst an der Theke abgeholt, da man diese vergessen hatte. Auch wenn es voll ist, sollte der Gast die Hektik und den Stress der Mitarbeiter nicht merken oder gar abbekommen. Wer viel mag und nicht so viel Wert auf Qualität und Geschmack legt ist hier richtig.

Sehr gute traditionelle Küche 👍 Bedienung sehr freundlich, sind draußen gesessen und wurden innerhalb 5 Minuten bedient! Speisekarte ist so auswahlsreich da geht keiner Hungrig raus 😂👍

Wollte heute telefonisch einen Tisch reservieren. Die Dame am Telefon war leider sehr unfreundlich. Als ich meinen gewünschten Termin nannte (ein Samstag), war sie der Meinung, es handle sich um einen Mittwoch und das Restaurant sei dann geschlossen. Ich hatte kaum Gelegenheit, den Sachverhalt zu erklären. Anschließend meinte sie, sie könne mich schlecht verstehen, und legte das Gespräch einfach auf. So sollte der Umgang mit potenziellen Gästen nicht sein. Der Eindruck heute war leider sehr enttäuschend.

Solides, Gutbürgerliches Restaurant wir waren der zufrieden

Leckeres Essen, große Portionen Wir waren an einem Sonntag mittag hier, ohne Reservierung muss man schon Glück haben, volles Haus. Auf unsere Getränke mussten wir etwas warten, da 2 Bedienungen für den ganzen Gastraum zuständig waren. Kamen uns hier und da etwas überfordert vor, aber waren immer freundlich. Schöne Essensauswahl, von fränk. Spezilitäten und gut bürgerlichen Gerichten. Große Portionen zu einem mehr als fairen Preis.

Sehr gutes Essen sehr netter Service. Nicht zu große Speisekarte mit regionalen Gerichten. Positiv dass es auch halbe Portionen gibt. Diese unterscheiden sich meist zwischen zwei bis 3 € zu der normal Portion. Dennoch bin ich davon trotzdem mehr als satt geworden. Großer Salatteller als Vorspeise habe ich leider nicht ganz geschafft. Vielleicht hier auch eine kleinere Größe anbieten wenn man halbe Portion bestellt. Preis und Qualität absolut stimmig. Es war allerdings sehr warm im Gastraum. Fenster auf Kipp wäre nicht schlecht gewesen. Leider lief auch keine Musik im Hintergrund und die Stimmung im Gastraum war daher sehr gedrückt. Ein einziger Tisch eine Herrenrunde machte etwas Stimmung. Schade hätte dem gemütlichen Ambiente gut getan. Aber das ist meckern auf hohem Niveau. Wir waren mehr als zufrieden und kommen gerne wieder. Bitte bleibt so wie ihr seid wir fanden alles bestens.

Essen war leider nur durchschnittlich, der Service sehr bemüht aber total überfordert. Die Preise waren für die erhaltene Qualität der Gerichte, aus meiner Sicht, zu hoch. Wir werden nicht mehr kommen.

Trotz Senkung der Mehrwertsteuer werden hier ständig die Preise, alle paar Monate erhöht. Das Essen wird aber nicht besser. Wenn du richtig Hunger hast, geh da nicht hin sonst bist du verhu gert bis das Essen endlich doch noch kommt und Freundlichkeit ist hier ein Fremdwort.

Sehr lange Wartezeit obwohl nicht übermäßig viele Gäste ( etwas über 1 Stunde ) Die eine Soße wie Wasser , die andere eine wackelige Konsistenz aus Wasser und Mehl mit zu viel Salz , Fett / Öl auf dem Schnitzel geschwommen , nicht mehr der frischeste Karottensalat und bei den Käsespätzle musste man die Spätzle suchen da 80% nur Käse . Super tolles Essen! Bürgerliche, ehrliche leckere Gerichte! Wir hatten 1/2 Ente, Cordon Bleu und Rinderleber! Der Beilagensalat und Kartoffelsalat hervorragend! Besser geht nicht!

Der Karpfen ist immer wieder eine Reise in die Heimat wert.

Irgendwas muss passiert sein, es schmeckt nicht mehr so, wie es sonst immer geschmeckt hat. Wir gehen da nicht mehr hinein. Sehr schade, volles Eigentor für euch.

Eine sehr schön eingerichtete Wirtschaft mit super leckerem Essen. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis war unübertroffen. Es wurde gesessen Kürbissuppe, Kalbsschnitzel, Putenschnitzel, Karpfen und Rumpsteak. Das Essen war durchweg lecker und auf den Punkt perfekt gegart und saftig. Eine absolute Empfehlung.

War top! Wiener Schnitzel mit Kartoffelsalat in einer guten Qualität und Größe. Preis war auch fair! Komme gerne nochmal.

Wir waren vor 5 Jahren das letzte Mal dort (weil aus Baden-Württemberg) und am Wochenende in Nähe. Also wieder mal in die Wolfsschlucht und wieder begeistert von der Qualität, der Freundlichkeit der Bedienung und den Preisen. Ein echter Tipp. Sehr empfehlenswertes Lokal

Essen ist gut. Leider bin ich mit meiner Frau und meinen zwei kleinen Kindern gerade so dermaßen unfreundlich abgewiesen worden, dass wir dort zum letzten Mal unser Geld gelassen haben. Schade.

Leider ist die Dame am der Theke sehr unfreundlich. Die Wartezeiten auf ein Essen betragen meist über eine Stunde.

Ich habe schon lange nicht mehr so gut gegessen. Sehr gute Küche und sehr freundliches Personal. Top!

Fränkische Spezialitäten gab es dort. Wir waren in unserem Urlaub dort durch Zufall zu Besuch. Die Bedienung war nett, Essen war gut, große Portion für einen guten Preis. Wenn wir nochmal in der Nähe sind, würden wir wiederkommen

The Wolfsschlucht serves very good Franconian food. The selection isn't that large, but you're sure to find something. The portions and the side salad are very generous. The Schäufferle (a kind of sausage) is, for me, the highlight of the restaurant. It's more than filling. You can also have it packed up if you can't manage the portions. The seating is comfortable. The value for money is more than acceptable. The service is friendly and attentive.

...a medium carp fillet with potato salad and a large plate of mixed salad...you'll definitely be full. Always reserve a table in advance.

We love to visit here with our big family every time we visit Germany! The food is always absolutely amazing, such huge portions and the staff is so sweet and friendly. They help us make reservations for over 20 people and serve food and drinks as quickly as possible! The bathrooms are very clean and we love coming here!

Since I came across the delicious-looking pictures of Franconian dishes last time, but still couldn't get a table due to its supposed popularity, I visited the restaurant with great anticipation. Nothing impressed me except the quantity of what you get in the canteen, which was bland, oversalted, with salads that looked more like pickled in sauce than fresh vegetables with sauce. Because of the long wait of an hour and a half, this restaurant is off the menu for good. If you don't have to watch every penny to get your fill, please don't go. There are plenty of good restaurants in the city center! A very bad experience that was a complete waste of time.

The restaurant may be small, but the food is all the more substantial. The portions are really good for the price. The staff is very friendly.

Well, it's a matter of taste, of course. If you like it simple, then fine. The sauces are very thin, rather watery.

The food was truly excellent. It only loses one star for the ambiance because the tables were so close together that the waitress couldn't get through, and we had to serve everything ourselves. But overall, we were all very satisfied.

Everything perfect, price-performance top

I've eaten at Wolfsschlucht several times, and the portions are always truly enormous—much larger than you'd expect, considering the price. The waiters are incredibly kind people who put a lot of heart into their work. Tips are always appreciated. The only negative is that you can sometimes hear the chef shouting, which can be annoying for guests. Back then, the wait times for food were relatively long, but this has since been improved and is now normal. Overall, though, it's a super delicious restaurant, with delicious vegetarian dishes too :)

Prices are quite high, portions are excessively large. Otherwise, tasty and good.

A really good place to enjoy good German cuisine in large portions. I'd happily go back again and again....

Unfortunately, it's declined considerably. Instead of large portions, a bit more quality would be desirable. The sauces now seem to be made from instant powders, and the meat quality hasn't been that great the last few times. As reported in several reviews, the couple who run the restaurant often have no control over their aggression, and the poor, overworked employees are loudly belittled in front of all the guests.

My "regular" restaurant, which I like to go to every now and then. Some things to note: 1. You can usually wait a bit for your food. That's normal at Wolfsschlucht. 2. The manager is usually in a state of hectic activity and not always entirely customer-focused. You can also hear people complaining about people when she's in the kitchen. There's room for improvement here. 3. It's often quite crowded, so arrive early if you want to eat quickly. The dishes themselves are usually very good and very filling. No comparison to many other restaurants. Here, you get value for money – even if the prices have increased significantly. But that's not the fault of Wolfsschlucht itself. The schnitzels could be a bit crispier, the fries are sometimes way too soggy – but the roasts and other dishes are always very tasty. Even if the roasts could have used a slice more meat or a few more dumplings. Compared to the rest, though, it's top-notch!

We've eaten at the Wolfsschlucht every now and then and were very satisfied until our last visit. However, not on our last visit, at the beginning of this year. We had to wait a very long time, over an hour and a half, for our food, even though the restaurant wasn't overly busy, and what we were served was a disgrace. The meat wasn't cooked all the way through and looked like a leftover. After a few bites, we sent the whole thing back. Unfortunately, prices have risen sharply and are now unaffordable for a family. Fortunately, there are still restaurants in Ansbach serving good food at reasonable prices. We've certainly removed the Wolfsschlucht from our menu.

The best Franconian food! Tastes like old, traditional grandma's cooking. I'll happily come back again until I've tried all the dishes. Liver dumpling soup, beef liver, veal Wiener schnitzel, delicious, delicious, and delicious. The portions are huge and the value is great!

We were here by chance and were passing through. We had called shortly beforehand and checked whether it was open and whether lunch was still being offered (it was already half past twelve). We were expected and served in a friendly manner. The food was very tasty and plentiful - as you would expect in Franconia! Thank you very much!

Friends recommended this restaurant to me because the portion sizes were very good and dishes like dumplings and Spätzel were made from scratch, which is why I really wanted to eat there. We reserved a table for 10 people at 6 p.m. and then placed the order at 8 p.m. The side salad didn't arrive until shortly after 7 p.m. and the food was a long time coming. When we asked at 7:20 p.m. where the food was and it would take another 20 minutes, we canceled the meal and didn't have to pay for the salad but for the drinks. Five of us then left and the others' food didn't arrive until shortly after 8 p.m. I would have liked to try the food but I won't try it a second time unless it's on the house

The food is convincing. A reservation is recommended. The service exudes a lot of calm, is reserved and gives space. The plates stay on the table a little longer.

Old inn with “morbid” charm. Probably the best veal liver I've ever eaten. Augustinian beers and delicious Franconian wines also surprised me.

Gave up in frustration If you like delicious Franconian food with decent portions at reasonable prices, the Wolfsschlucht is one of the best addresses in Ansbach. But on condition that you get in. That's why I'm particularly sorry that I'm giving this overall rating like this. Anyone who knows the Wolfsschlucht knows that it is always full there. You can try your luck as a couple without a reservation. But we would like to go with a larger group, so we have to make a reservation. If you live several kilometers away from Ansbach, this is only possible by telephone. But that's only theoretical. We've been trying to call there for days to reserve a table. 50 attempts are not enough. Morning, lunch, evening, night, outside opening hours, within opening hours, at the beginning of opening hours, at the end of opening hours, during opening hours but outside kitchen hours.... Either it rings free and through or it rings busy. Unfortunately, this has also happened to friends who wanted to cancel a reservation. We also understand the problems with a lack of service staff. But can't be reached by phone at any time? No email address? No online booking option? No nothing? Then unfortunately it doesn't matter in the rating how good the food and service are. Because we can't get there with our group. Frustrated and annoyed, we give up trying to eat with the group in the Wolfsschlucht and make a reservation at another good restaurant in Ansbach and we wish all the other hungry people better luck than us.

Nice to sit. The food was very good. Fried carp is crispy and so is baked carp. Tasty sauces, dumplings and salad. Large selection. Price reasonable, friendly service. Highly recommended.

Very nice, well-kept Franconian restaurant. The dining room was full and even though the waitress was alone, there were no waiting times, everything ran smoothly, just as you would expect. The food was very good and the portions were more than sufficient, the prices were absolutely fair. We'd love to come back. We had a roast venison and a cordon bleu.

Despite reservations, we were first kept waiting, then parked at a table from where we were directed back to the value area. Reserved at 7 p.m., arrived at 6:50 p.m. and left at 7:25 p.m.

The cuisine is of very high quality and offers an excellent selection of dishes, all fresh and homemade. The portions are generous and the value for money is excellent. The ambience of the guest room is cozy and reminiscent of times gone by, although some guests might find it too rustic.

We have always come regularly to Wolfsschlucht to eat because it is simply the best German restaurant in the entire district. The food is always incredibly tasty, the portions are huge and the prices are great. You have to plan for a wait but it's worth it!
