Leider wird keine Kinderportion an Erwachsene ausgegeben, sondern nur Seniorportionen oder normale. Selbst die Seniorenportionen sind gross. Leider gibt es nur wenig vegetarische Gerichte, schade eigentlich. Die Kässpatzen mit echten Zwiebeln und die Ansbacher Bratwurst mit Kartoffelsalat waren 1 a. Gerne immer wieder.

Eine von die besten deutsche Küche. Alles was man bestellt ist immer absolut lecker.

Wir waren heute zu viert im Gasthaus Zum Mohren. Alle haben wir ein Schäufele verspeist. Wir waren uns einig, dass dieses Gericht wohl nirgends besser schmecken kann. Es war einfach nur super, saftiges Fleisch mit schmackhafter Kruste, eine tolle Biersoße und 2 Kartoffelknödel dazu. Nicht zu vergessen die Getränke und der tolle Service. Alles geschah schnell und mit freundlichem Ton, trotz der vielen Gäste. Der Platz im Biergarten lud zum Verweilen ein,leider mussten wir die Heimreise antreten

Sehr gutes Lokal mit wunderschönem Biergarten. Die Gerichte sind immer top! Bei schönen sowie schlechtem Wetter sitzt man hier auch mal etwas länger.

War am Mittwoch Mittag ohne Reservierung mit einem Kollegen Schäufele essen und es war sehr lecker. 🤤Wir hatten mit 5€ Trinkgeld und je einem Getränk 50 € bezahlt. Der Service war auch echt zuvorkommend und sehr freundlich 👍 Genauso stellt man sich es vor beim Essen gehen.

Wir waren heute Mittag zum 1. Mal dort und ich kann es sehr empfehlen. Vom sehr freundlichen Service bis zum leckeren Essen als auch das Ambiente war für mich 5/5 Sterne und ich komme sehr gerne wieder. Die Speisekarte machte neugierig und mir fiel die Entscheidung schwer. Also muss ich quasi nochmal kommen, denn den Brezn Gugelhupf mit Champignonrahmsoße oder wie das heißt, das klingt echt lecker 😋

Wir waren gestern Abend dort zum Essen. Das Essen war sehr lecker und kam schnell. Besonders hervorzuheben war der Service, überaus freundlich und zuvorkommend, das findet man nicht mehr oft heutzutage! Auch das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist in Ordnung. Wir empfehlen dieses Lokal auf jeden Fall weiter.

One of the few Franconian restaurants you can still go to in Ansbach. I've never been disappointed by the food. The beer garden is always a lovely place to eat in the summer.

We went to the Gasthof Mohren today. The breaded carp fillet with potato salad and mixed salad was delicious, especially the very generous portion. Good value for money. The waiter was very competent and friendly. The espresso was also excellent, just like at an Italian café.

We visited the Gasthaus Zum Mohren in Ansbach and were absolutely thrilled! The duck was simply amazing – crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, just as it should be. The Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle) and the schnitzel were also superb – you can taste the passion and skill that goes into cooking here. The service was incredibly friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with a traditional Franconian flair. We wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant – authentic Franconian cuisine at its finest! We will definitely be back – a true highlight in Ansbach! 🍽️👏

The pork shoulder was okay, but the gravy was inedible and extremely salty. You can easily make gravy from the meat juices; you don't need those packets, because that's where the gravy came from. If you don't want to serve fresh dumplings, you shouldn't bother. All in all, a disaster for almost 19 euros.

The staff is always attentive and exceptionally helpful. The food is good to very good, with a varied selection.

A beautifully located restaurant in the heart of Ansbach with a harmonious ambiance that perfectly complements the modern interpretation of Franconian cuisine. We had the duck – with a truly delicious sauce. Overall, the food was high-quality and well-presented. The friendly and attentive staff deserves special mention – we felt completely welcome. Unfortunately, the sanitary facilities were a downside. The restrooms are clearly showing their age, dirty tile joints, and an overall unkempt appearance mar the otherwise very positive impression. Especially after a good meal, this is an unpleasant contrast. A renovation would not only be appropriate here, but also a sign of appreciation for the guests. In conclusion: A visit is worthwhile – for the food and the service. With a little more attention to details beyond the plate, it would be perfect.

We were at the market and wanted a drink. The guidebook recommended the Mohren. Unfortunately, you can only sit down if you're also eating. Drinking only is not allowed—what a disappointment, even though the restaurant was empty. Conclusion: embarrassing, embarrassing—there are alternatives.

If you're in Ansbach, you should definitely stop here. A very pleasant atmosphere and excellent food with friendly service. What more could you want...

Delicious food, mushroom soup was amazing!

Was not expecting it to be this good - usually restaurants in touristy areas with so much seating don’t offer such high quality. We ordered the Mohren salad, Pfifferling noodles, and sauerbraten. Not only were they all excellent, they came quickly, and the presentation was beautiful. I both cook and eat a lot of German cuisine and was impressed with the taste of the gravy and the quality of the meat. I will make this place a regular occurrence when out with guests that want regional cuisine. The imagine and name of the restaurant are remnants of confused elements of African cultural appropriation which is not appropriate today.

Nice staff. I had roast pork, but unfortunately the food came lukewarm and the meat was a bit tough, and the potato salad lacked flavor. The pike-perch fish was good, but some of the vegetables were overcooked.

I was here for lunch today and I'm absolutely thrilled! The chanterelle sauce was incredibly delicious – not only was there plenty, but the chanterelles were also top-quality. ​Despite the crowds, the service was very friendly and quick, which made the visit even more enjoyable. The beer garden is authentic and cozy. I'll definitely be back!

We ate there today. In the beer garden, which is very nice. I ordered bread dumplings with chanterelle sauce and whipped cream. For a whopping €23.90. By the way, the prices online don't match the prices in the restaurant. I just noticed that now... I got a cream soup with a bread dumpling and, believe it or not, about 5 chanterelles. When I "complained," all I heard was "Sorry." Yes, the waitress couldn't help it—but she could have talked to the manager and they could have given a small discount on the cream soup... At least show some "goodwill." But no such thing! On the other hand, the salads that two people ate were covered in chanterelles and tasted good, too. I won't be going back to that restaurant anytime soon—if I even go back there again...

I booked a table for two, and we got a small table. The menu arrived quickly, and the drinks and food didn't take long to arrive. Unfortunately, the menu wasn't up-to-date, and some dishes weren't available at all, as they were simply out of stock. Unfortunately, our empty glasses were ignored, so we only had one drink. As we passed by, we managed to stop the waiter and ask for the bill. The atmosphere is nice, the food is good, but the service is still lacking, so it doesn't get full marks.

We stumbled upon the restaurant by accident. It was completely full. The waiter found us a table despite not having a reservation and helped us choose local delicacies. The food was very good, and the red cabbage seasoned with cloves was simply delicious. It had a lovely local atmosphere. I highly recommend it :-)

Long waiting times, food listed on the menu but not available, bratwurst as black as coal and therefore inedible - NEVER AGAIN.

My wife and I ate at this restaurant on three different evenings whilst visiting friends in Ansbach; I cannot say enough about the place and its staff. If we were not returning to the States tomorrow we would be back repeatedly, and that is guaranteed. If you doubt the veracity of my claims, read my other reviews and you will see II have to have a good experience to gush as I am about to. In fairness I have not read any other reviews of the place, so I do not understand why anyone rated it below a 5. Finding it was a happy accident on a trip to Europe that saw us find two restaurants recomended by a popular mapping program which my wife and I are now convinced is rigged. Pros: ======== -A very friendly, if over-worked, staff. -Ample seating indoor and out -Literally everything we tried, both food and drink, was very tasty, and we each ordered different dishes every time. -They serve authentic Franconian fare. If you want American - or other styles of food - go someshere else. Better yet, visit that country. When in Rome... -Their service is prompt and friendly. -Their prices are reasonable. -Their bathroom is free. Cons ======== -They are located thousands of miles from my home. :( Yes, that really is my only complaint.

I love Ansbach; it's a simply beautiful city, and it's right across the Mohren Bridge, and everything is perfect. The food is great and the service is very friendly. Even when it's busy, the food is always very attentive. The food is excellent, five stars! Highly recommend the salads in this warm weather; they're fresh and taste great!

You arrive in Ansbach from far away, unsuspecting, hungry and thirsty, and you realize: today is the Ansbach City Festival, and tables are reserved everywhere, and you're either sympathetically or mercilessly turned away. No chance. Except in the beer garden at Zum Mohren, where they say: we'll find a spot for you. The home-style food was excellent and served quickly. Not only that, but our server – a young man – was really nice and funny, despite the obvious stress of the day of the city festival – compliments. Delicious food – great service – shady spot – all around perfect.

Absolutely outrageous – never again! We specifically ordered in advance, drove off, and then – completely out of the blue – this “restaurant” calls and simply says: “Yes, your order isn’t being processed right now, you can’t come.” Are you serious?! You plan, drive there specifically, take your time – and then this happens? What kind of customer service is this? Zero organization, zero professionalism, zero decency. This kind of behavior isn’t just outrageous, it’s simply disrespectful. Anyone who treats people this way should ask themselves whether they should even run a business. Once and never again – and I’ll tell everyone I know exactly that.

We were there at lunchtime, which was peak time, so unfortunately we had to wait a long time for our food. My second drink was also forgotten for a long time. I was still wondering about the timing of when something was served, but the portions were large and the food was delicious. The staff was friendly. We didn't want to sit in the beer garden, preferring to sit inside... but being so close to the door to the beer garden (a kind of winter garden) isn't very cozy - it's also a bit drafty. We would visit the restaurant again, though, if the opportunity arose. Hence, 4/5 stars.

We were in the beer garden, so I can only comment on that area. The ambiance is very harmonious, with a great location behind the city wall, between linden and chestnut trees. There are plenty of tables, all beautifully shaded, and some are even covered. The service is good, although it took a bit of time for the food to arrive. The food was very good, with something for everyone on the menu. The drinks selection was also good. The prices are quite reasonable. Overall, a great beer garden, just what you'd want.

I was there alone, the waitress brought me to the table, then they made me sit there for 30 minutes and then told me I had to get up, the table was reserved, a complete disgrace. I've eaten there many times and I'm always satisfied, and of course I'm not alone.

It was pretty full. We had to wait 15 minutes to order drinks, another 10 minutes for them to arrive, and the food took over an hour to arrive. The schnitzel was good, the onion roast beef was not recommended. I ordered medium rare, of which I only got 1/3 cooked, the rest was bloody, and the fried potatoes were more mushy than crispy. The good things were the onions and the sauce, but they cut corners on them. Personally, I wouldn't eat there again. The staff, on the other hand, were stressed but friendly.

As always when we're near Ansbach, we stopped at the Mohren for a Schäufele (shoulder of pork). Simply pure enjoyment.

A good restaurant with a very nice beer garden, which is certainly a gem in nice weather and invites you to relax and enjoy something to eat and a drink. The food was good and tasty 😋, the portions were a decent size, and the price-performance ratio was pretty good. I'd happily give the food 5 stars 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 The service was very friendly and attentive, but unfortunately completely chaotic and without a plan => three new employees who, in my opinion, weren't properly trained?!? Then we didn't get our side salad until we were almost finished with our food, and I was almost ready to send it back right away. So, unfortunately, only 3 stars overall 🌟 🌟 🌟

The four of us had dinner in the Mohrenbiergarten today (Mother's Day). We (regulars!) have never experienced such poor quality food. Schnitzel with fries and side salad: the schnitzel is light and "fried" in the deep fryer, the fries are light and not crispy, the side salad is forgotten. The crispy salad, the best part was the dressing, otherwise: pre-formed, frozen crispy chicken schnitzel (strips), the 3 baguette slices on the edge of the plate so thin and stale, the salad as little as never before and then also celery salad from a can... but the prices are even higher than last year. There's so much ice in the Aperol that you can barely fit any liquid in it (purely a cost-cutting measure), as if it wasn't already expensive enough. The white wine spritzer is almost just water. The only positive thing: the always friendly staff, big praise!!! The rest: has become much worse, less on the plate and higher prices... Guys, you always had such good quality, but I can't recommend anyone to you anymore! But when the beer garden is full, you apparently don't have to make any more effort, which is a shame! A request to the boss: make decent food and don't make the portions even smaller. Thank you.

The service is simply underground. It took us over an hour for the food to arrive. The staff is totally stressed and you feel like a troublemaker and are sometimes even insulted. You could see the same experience in the faces of other guests.

Despite the full house, we received a very friendly welcome and even without a reservation we were spontaneously offered a place at a young man's table. The food was very tasty and everything was tip top. Price/performance excellent as it should be. Service staff was super friendly - there was nothing to complain about.

One of the best things Ansbach has to offer in summer and nice temperatures. The atmosphere outside is great, inside it's ok (typical inn atmosphere). The food is always delicious, as are the drinks. One star less because both outside and inside, as soon as you want to reorder or no one around has left the bill or stops by - feel free to stop by earlier than 20 minutes, then you can still order something. Apart from that, definitely recommended!

We always enjoyed eating at Mohren. Unfortunately we had a very negative experience today. We had the misfortune of sitting next to a patio door that was constantly being opened by an employee to take things out. Unfortunately, every time she left the door ajar and there was a terrible draft. After we got up 5 times and closed the door ourselves, we finally dared and kindly asked the employee to please close the door completely. Unfortunately it didn't do anything, they just insulted me. Will avoid the restaurant in the future. It's a shame because the food was always very good.

I'm sure there are people who appreciate the place, but I'm rather not one of them. The meat-heavy gravy-loaded food might to an extent be typical for the region, but I simply wouldn't say, even given local preferences, that it is of any particular quality. Also, choices are fairly limited, essentially all sorts of varieties of porc and beef. Service is not necessarily bad, but also not really good in my view, let's say average for German standards. Not a bad place, I'd say, but you really need to be into this kind of thing. Oh, and you'd better not be a vegetarian.

We are eating here right now and we are very happy with everything. Everything is top notch and the service is very fast and there is hardly any waiting time.
